Okay I'm not really buying the sudden edgy personality development, and then they had to show a backstory of him saving a cat for some reason. This arc is feeling a bit weaker than arc 1.

Wait, did it imply that he hesitated to save Shang Chao due to the love triangle, and that he thinks he could have actually saved him had he not hesitated? I thought maybe the Uncle could be the old E-Soul but instead he was some master manipulator? And now old E-soul is dead but the MC is just cool with moving into Hero Tower and the Uncle having done all that shit? Does he even know??? anyway the visuals were absolutely stunning, not sure what to make of the story though.

Thoughts on the new episode? I didn't expect the switch to 2D or the slow buildup episode. I'm now expecting the kirito guy to be killed since this show is pretty trigger happy. It's an interesting premise but a bit boring, I hope Cyan connects to other parts of the lore soon.

I think I overrated this show based on the first arc a bit. Without crazy twists, the writing is revealed to be a bit simple and standard. This episode had great production quality and great songs but ultimately it didn't feel like it had any relevance to the hero system at all (besides popularity ofc). I mean it didn't build an "overarching story" as much as I'd hoped. It was basically just a generic rags to riches pop star story in an episode that I've probably seen 10 times by now. I'm glad he was happy instead of being jealous at hearing of her success near the end though. The cliffhanger is interesting I guess. Thoughts guys?

Catching up on episode 10 now, I find the direction of this episode to be lopsided, for example why would they start playing this inspirational music right when they say "there's a recording?" Just doesn't fit the scene. This is more about "oh okay there's something we can do", it's like a practical/logistical scene.

Also, Cyan has zero facial expressions, when she's yelled at by the round glasses boss and when she's expressing her determination now she still has the same moe face. I'm curious if we go back to 3d next episode though. Did everyone just drop this anime because it didn't deliver to the expectations it served with the first arc?

What the fuck is her power even? She has energy she can shoot out now? Why is she spraying febreeze? This is still watchable but it feels like this anime was in dire need of an editor.

The writers completely failed to make her a likable character. She finally sees her long-lost love (or friend or whatever) and now her priority is "I have to get the file out!" What? This is sociopathic writing.

Okay, this scene was properly kino. Teared up. The writers have really good ideas, we've seen this, but they are absolutely DOGSHIT at connecting the ideas at a proper pacing with good execution sadly.
