After working through most of the relevant kabbalah books of the more ancient category, during which I was "forced" to start learning hebrew to not miss out because the original concepts are written in hebrew even when the text is translated, I came to a point where I started feeling that I actually need to start using the text in the commonly used prayer format.
It's not merely about a religious egregore once beyond the surface, but it drives an actual transformation of the physical and spiritual bodies, which resembles, but does not correspond to, that which is achieved through hatha yoga. The correlation between the hebrew alphabet, the paths on the tree of life/sefirot and the tree of kelipot/qliphoth and the nervous system as well as the inner channels of the spiritual body, is real. This makes the words themselves, in their original sound's vibration, into a form of "programs" or "scripts" which activate specific nerves or brain patterns of the body, which may constitute a kind of "exercise" or "weight lifting" targeting those nerves or connections. These having been developed over millennia, although their meaning may be mostly forgotten and unknown, still have a valid functionality.
I've been using videos with readings of Genesis (Sefer Bereshit) to read along and get better at understanding the correct reading of the characters in various combinations and the general flow of the language, which has had a positive effect overall.
But this still means missing out on the way certain bits of the text are actually used, when they are treated as formats for prayer with a strong focus, based on an agreed upon understanding which is hard to grasp, if not impossible, without the pre-knowledge of these kabbalistic texts.
To anyone else, these are just random quotes of the bible with little meaning, and in translated format they don't retain their function.
I realized I need to try the "shma", which is just a part of the regular text used for prayer, but once just looking on youtube there are many vids focusing on this one prayer, which is just a few lines of text. I even found hours long lectures on the meaning of this little text.
Reading it until I got it right, over and over in a form similar to a mantra, to then, as I normally do, initiate the transformation by assuming a pose while letting the words just circulate in my mind, was very effective when I pushed through and stayed in a meditative state for around 40 min. This isn't even about "believing" in something, it just works if done with focus, because it's a method based on how the body and mind works, and the energy transformation on the beyond-physical plane is strong.
