OPERATION MAX REVIVE Rebuild the board's userbase and activity through simple, but effective methods 1. Post across the entire board Activity creates activity. Use threads you like, make new ones if topics don't exist. Easy examples are Drawthreads and Friday Night threads, go request or draw something right now. 2. Recruit and recover lost or potential anons Use this site's OC and features to entice anons if necessary when recruiting, just inform that we are alive. Here's some sites and links with at least some confirmed anons that can be recruited again: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chotwheels https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SSAVCH
[Expand Post]https://steamcommunity.com/groups/video_games https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chmohun https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chan_monster https://steamcommunity.com/groups/GoodLuckEbolaChan https://steamcommunity.com/search/groups/#text=8ch.net https://steamcommunity.com/search/groups/#text=8chan Other sites that might yield fruitful results and have anons (art sites use an account so you can see 18+ content): https://www.deviantart.com/search?q=Vivian+James https://www.newgrounds.com/search/summary?suitabilities=etm&terms=Vivian%20James https://twitter.com/search?q=Vivian%20James&src=typed_query&f=image https://rpgcodex.net/ https://old.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/ Somewhere on Telegram Just searching up GG or 8chan-related terms on certain places/sites can get you possible results. 3. Make your own OC/Memes/Content Doesn't matter what it is even if its just simple edits or full-on drawings or webms, just make it and have fun. Ask in thread for software recs if necessary. 4. Encourage or create fun events, activities, projects, etc. Think things like 8chanmania, weekly streams, re-translation projects, demo days, or zzz's gaming magazine for example. If you want to do something, try making or reviving it, it can't hurt and these things are great for the board. 5. Use other boards All it takes for a board to grow is at least 2 dedicated anons using it. Don't be afraid to make a post, check places periodically, shill, or what have you. Don't force discussions to boards, just encourage the usage of them. 2. OPERATION TRAJAN: Collect and catalog all of the various localization and censorship accounts of past video games into a single repository from these sources: romhacking.net The_Cutting_Room_Floor/tcrf.net Segaretro.org https://redirect.invidious.io/channel/UCFItIX8SIs4zqhJCHpbeV1A Examples: http://archive.vn/XQOHW Sony's policies forces censorship; JP devs allegedly have to go through ENG approval process: https://archive.fo/awzFF - Japanese blog post about it: https://archive.fo/bF9bE Sony Japan President Says PS4 Censorship Policy Is To Match Global Standards And Protect Kids: https://archive.fo/U3GLa - Confirms censorship was deliberate: https://archive.fo/XgAgP - No rules for censorship policies, games judged case-by-case: https://archive.fo/37DhK - Marvelous partner starts petition against policy: https://archive.fo/rxQtf https://archive.fo/84UHo • Twitterfags: Tweet with Sony's stock code $SNE so that investors see your tweets and know you're pissed. • Consider spreading OP Timber materials to targets as well: http://archive.vn/URjtu ONGOING TASKS: A. You know there are other alternative OSs besides Linux right?
>>384172 Like what? Linux appears to be the most matured of the bunch.
The only take I could find about the Guilty Gear Strive's trannies preying on people: https://yt.artemislena.eu/watch?v=AcdN28inHL8 Some comments are spot on: >strive is basically smash bros community mixed with Bidenbt and predators lmfao it's sad what it did to guilty gears name >What is it with the FGC attracting people like this? RE L G B T >i can say with 100% sure that these parties "post something" or "afterparty" are lawless, everything happens, and anything can happen. No one is in their sane mind
>>384172 Which ones are good enough to daily drive? I can only think about OpenBSD, or maybe Haiku.
Fucking heatwave making me sweat so much it feels like I can pee from my thighs.
>>384172 Linux miffs me enough with its software and hardware support, there is no reason to use some alternative vastly inferior in those regards just to show how good at computer you are.

>>382739 >They don't try anything local on any region Because every online travel guide says not to unless it's some upscale or otherwise trusted place. Japan is probably the only country I'd trust street vendor food in. Not even in the USA would I trust that shit, let alone fast food there. >>382748 >Let me guess, these people are not on speaking terms with their parents. I'm practically not on speaking terms with my parents, and it's their fault not mine. Why do you assume the last generation isn't also shit? I'd bet lots of these retards have "great" family relationships with their hyper progressive far left parents.

Was at the anime Expo and played Metaphor and it's pretty much DeSu 2 X Persona 5. Also expect leftists to make real world comparisons due to upcoming elections.

>>384240 It's not that nothing ever happens, it's more that the FED's modus operandi has been to kick the can down the road, ever since Greenspan, so at least 30 years. It has worked, but at some point the can will be so big that it will be impossible to kick it and everything will collapse, or at least America will default on all of it's debts. When will that be? I don't know. To fight inflation, you would need not only someone like Volcker but also a Reagen, because to defeat inflation Volker raised the interest rates over 20% and people panicked, people complained and asked for his removal from office, but Reagan had his back, because that is what was was needed to defeat inflation. That was the good thing about them, the bad thing is that they took America off the gold standard, both Reagen and Volker. With how shit everything is, to do it now the FED might need to raise interest rates up to 40 maybe even 60% and no president, especially not Trump, would ever dare do something like that, instead they will just kick the can down the road. There was a short moment in 2016-2017 when everyone was optimistic about the economy, that Powell raised it up to 5%, because he thought Trump had his back and that it was needed to fix the economy, but Trump flipped and demanded he put them back to zero, maybe even negative just to keep the bubble growing, since the Stock Market was how he measured his success as a president, and just 5% was about to collapse everything, imagine what 20% would do.
>>996057 >completely different graphical rendering output >doesn't need fixing Hmm. >but at some point the can will be so big that it will be impossible to kick it and everything will collapse, or at least America will default on all of it's debts. Anon, that can't happen. The Dollar is the reserve currency for every country on Earth. Everything is denominated in dollars (not specie), so everything is predicated on its value (not true value, simply agreement of value). If a country tries to return to the gold/silver standard, it is invaded and the government is replaced. Moreover, there's something like 6*10^19 Eurodollars in existence, so it's not realistic to say the US system CAN ever collapse. >Because Eurocurrencies give private financial institutions the unrestricted ability to expand the availability of a particular currency, the country whose currency is the target of the Euro instrument no longer has exclusive control over its money supply... Furthermore, the lack of reserve requirements on Eurodollars creates a potentially infinite money multiplier, potentially leading to an infinite degree of inflation, all without the input of the Federal Reserve or the U.S. Treasury. Thus, the power to control the number of dollars (or dollar-equivalent instruments) in the market has been taken out of the exclusive control of U.S. authority and diffused among foreign banking institutions. https://archive.ph/KUMuX >To fight inflation, you would need not only someone like Volcker but also a Reagen No, you have to end the Federal Reserve entirely. Nothing else can ever stop inflation, by definition, because every dollar in existence has greater than 1 dollar of debt backing it. There's no point in pontificating about half-measures or bandages or symptom appeasement. Cut the cancerous tumor out entirely. 1. End the Federal Reserve. 2. Peg the dollar to gold+silver at a 1:15 ratio. 3. Mandatory death penalty for charging interest on loans. 4. Mandatory death penalty for any government official who so much as attempts to repeal the law about interest on loans.

You don't see raids like this very often online anymore. It is sort of endearing in a way. https://archive.ph/UF4Qz Senate Passes Kids’ “Safety” Bills Despite Privacy, Digital ID, and Censorship Concerns >Two bills combined – the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0) – have passed in the US Senate in a 91-3 vote, and will now be considered by the House. >Criticism of the bills focuses mainly on the likelihood that, if and when they become law, they will help expand online digital ID verification, as well as around issues like censorship (removal and blocking of content). >The effort to make KOSA and COPA 2.0 happen was spearheaded by a parent group that was pushing lawmakers and tech companies’ executives to move in this direction, and their main demand was to enact new rules that would prevent cyberbullying and other harms. >And now the main sponsors, senators Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, and Republican Marsha Blackburn are trying to dispel these concerns, suggesting these are not “speech bills” and do not (directly) impose age verification. >Further defending the bills, they say that the legislation does not mandate that internet platforms start collecting even more user data, and reject the notion it is invasive of people’s privacy. >But the problem is that although technically true, this interpretation of the bills’ impact is ultimately incorrect, as some of their provisions do encourage censorship, facilitate the introduction of digital ID for age verification, and leave the door open for mass collection of online users’ data – under specific circumstances – and end ending anonymity online. >The bills are hailed by supporters as “landmark” legislation that is the first to focus on protecting children on the internet in the last 20 years, with some lawmakers in the Senate, like majority leader, Democrat Chuck Schumer, describing the result of the vote as “a momentous day.” >But digital rights group Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is describing KOSA in particular as “a terrible idea” and is, instead of positive sloganeering about protecting the children, delving deeper into what the bills in fact seek to mandate or pave the way for. >The EFF is convinced that they should never become law and is urging citizens to take action to stop Congress from adopting KOSA. The overall criticism is that long-existing problems plaguing youths – such as mental disorders, drug, alcohol, and tobacco abuse, etc., should not be linked to the internet as if these issues weren’t present before. >EFF believes that the bill is in fact designed to “punish bad internet speech,” and makes a point prior to the House vote – appearing to warn about possible politicization – that once it becomes law, it will be out of the hands of the members of Congress to implement it. >Instead, the task would be entrusted to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which EFF makes sure to note is “majority-controlled by the president’s party.” >The group said that lawmakers supporting KOSA have chosen to ignore that “the vast majority of speech that KOSA affects is constitutionally protected in the US, which is why there is a long list of reasons that KOSA is unconstitutional.” >KOSA – although stating that platforms are not required to implement age verification – is seen by opponents as paving the way for expansion of this controversial policy, as it wants FTC, FCC, and the Secretary of Commerce to study “options for developing systems to verify age at the device or operating system level.” >Censorship-wise, it allows the FTC to investigate and sue sites that are branded as serving content “harmful” to children. And unlike the previous versions which covered only certain platforms, guided by the number of users, revenue, etc., the bill now appears to cover all platforms, which, unless the wording is changed, would be a fairly drastic provision. >When it comes to privacy and data collection, despite claims to the contrary, platforms will be able to collect or buy data on people with the goal of estimating a user’s age. >According to Senator Blumenthal, this happens “if an online platform already knows that a user is underage.” >How a platform might know that aside, the senator adds, “then it has to provide the safety and privacy protections required by the legislation -the platform cannot bury its head in the sand when it knows a user is underage.” >“Online platforms often already request a date of birth from new users, either for advertising and profiling the user or for compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Online platforms also frequently collect or purchase substantial amounts of other data to understand more about their users,” Blumenthal has said. >AS for COPPA 2.0, it also indirectly pushes for more age verification thanks to the new restrictions on the collection of data from minors. And while the bill doesn’t mandate age verification – platforms that want to collect data or target ads will have to verify the users’ age. >One way to abuse this provision for censorship is the same as what has been happening with the first iteration of COPPA – put creators in a position (say, through specific platform rules) to mark content as safe for children, which means it becomes restricted, and demonetized (stripped of ads).

The government didn't start mandating "universal healthcare" the 80's. Even then, the "scare" about leaded gasoline had nothing to do with the lead and everything to do with "muh emissions" because lead increased the gas' octane rating. >>384310 >>384313 This is half remembered. Shiggy+AFO gets to Midoriya. They have their big fight, but Shiggy+AFO slaps the dude around. He starts eating Midoriya's plot armor and powers, except quirks have souls (or kinda have souls) and OFA has very active souls. So each soul/quirk Shiggy+AFO takes starts chinking his mental armor. Eventually Midoriya decides 'fuck it' and goes into his mental scape to wake Shiggy up. This sort of works, except it doesn't because AFO and shiggy basically want the same thing. Midoriya is BTFO'd back without any powers. This is immediately rectified because the author promptly copies Avengers Endgame and everyone starts portaling in. The horn loli's horn reverts his ass back to semi working condition and with everyone there AFO is whiddled down and fucking dies. Shiggy rejects help at the end too I think. Points for a villain that the MC tries to talku-no-jutsu but never actually succeeds. Midoriya has still mostly lost his power. Queue victory lap. All Might doesn't actually die. Everyone has minor character moments but really the important detail is shits apparently fucked so much that the old world order is dead except for the school. The school is mostly fine (of course.) Recently I saw him running apologetics for the Olympics opening ceremony by trying to "debunk" the anti-Christian narrative by saying more or less that the guy was just being a weird Frenchie and that it was totally in line with being a depiction of a Dionysian festival - so all these Christians up in arms are being offended over nothing. I couldn't finish watching that horse shit, so maybe he clarified later - but no. The Last Supper is one of the most famous and relevant paintings in western culture for centuries. There is no way an artist was putting together this tranny parade and DIDN'T see the parallels between that and the imagery of The Last Supper. It's impossible that he (an artist himself) didn't step back at some point and notice the resemblance and could have - at any point - altered the piece to remove those parallels. This was done on purpose specifically to troll Christians at one of the most watched global events - and any "Dionysian Festival" themes were there to provide deniability to a fully supportive media. The dumb shit even tried to publicly deny that MKUltra was a real CIA operation by trying to conflate it with the most extreme stories psychic warfare and occultism - while completely ignoring that the CIA did contract Universities to illegally test LSD as a mind-control drug on an unsuspecting population. I saw someone suggest that maybe the Las Vegas shooter was a victim of MKUltra, and he immediately goes into a tirade about subconscious behavioral programming and sleeper agents being bullshit - without ever bothering to consider the possibility that maybe if it was the case, then the poor son of a bitch just had his mind fried and eventually snapped. Pretty much the same story as what happened to Uncle Ted.

>>384373 the only person who cares about true believers is stan lee, and he's a dead jew on a schtick
>>384368 Using religion to meet people and build social networks is exactly why I believe we have evolved to be religious, let me explain why. I believe there is a gene or a set of genes that make people believe in the existence of deities, and at some point of time, some monkey developed this gene through random mutation, and they out-competed(either through genocide or over-breeding) the atheistic monkeys, thus it was genetically favorable to be religious, also see how many kids religious people have versus atheists. Religion is not a tool made by a group of people to control the masses, but a tool created by our genes to maximize the chances of reproduction, reason why marriage and baptism are part of the religious institution and why they usually ban things that can get in the way of having kids like homosexuality. You going to church, has nothing to do with God, it's all about finding the right person to make more babies that also believe in a God or gods. Now to be clear, this doesn't disprove nor prove the existence of a God, I can just as easily say that God was the one who put that gene in us.
>>384376 Before the bicameral mind, pantheon gods were used to describe impulses of emotion compelled by such beings, it's why the old testament has a lot of direct commandments and consequences by the former hebrew war god. Afterward you had kings passing laws that people could not blame the gods for their actions, and raising oracles in isolation to try and regain simpletons whose actions are inscrutable by the conscious person.
>>384367 The only reason you even honestly consider atheism to be just edgy is because being atheist or not being atheist in our political environment doesn't matter much at all for our livelihood, and over time we've moved away from all legitimately bad practices present in it. You can check out how the religious extremists are doing with the mudslimes in the middle east and asia affecting their culture, it's disgraceful.
>>384378 You used to have examples of extremist atheism in communist countries.
>>384379 Are we converging on some sort of horseshoe theory here? Extremist atheists purged the religious. Extremist religions purged the atheists. Should you therefore be moderate? Regardless, the extremist atheism imposed in socialist and communist regimes was more to reduce and remove the power of religions themselves to keep their own power, whereas religious purges are usually just a case of "YOUR GOD NOT MY GOD NOW DIE"

The spinoff was better, look up that instead.

Hope you remembered your rabbits! >>384393 Good luck!
Seems like majority of the good shounen series was material the started in the 80's and early 90's, as most of the stuff later seems to always shit the bed somewhere (Yu Yu Hakushou, Death Note, etc.). A couple of standouts from those eras I especially like were Kyou Kara Ore Wa and Ghost Sweeper Mikami. As far as more recent stuff, Samurai High School was always a favorite, and Rokudou no Onna-tachi turned a lot of tropes on their head. I guess I've been spoiled by reading seinen from the getgo.
>>384395 I know you probably don't have it saved but I'd be interested in those studies, since animism is believed to predate most religions. I also don't see it as bad if our ancestors made up fables to influence the retards in their tribes to ensure the survival rate stayed up.

You'd be right in thinking the mind virus of the prevailing narrative would've suppressed that information to suit its needs, however, just as they still claim "Out of Africa" is real (despite being disproven 25 years ago and its original creator admitting that he was wrong) or that global warming exists.

Human religion started out as a monotheistic practice, and only became polytheistic because people "believed" that it was more "realistic Source? Because Gods were manifestation of nature and not based on their realism or flawed, many were not entire beings and many mythos didn't even start with Gods but instead with local beings and then grow into an entire mythology over time
>>384396 Thank you, anon!
>>384404 Ah, I thought the style looked familiar. Thanks.
>>384400 >I know you probably don't have it saved but I'd be interested in those studies, since animism is believed to predate most religions That school of thought came from E.B. Tylor: https://infogalactic.com/info/Edward_Burnett_Tylor However competing against his theories was that of Andrew Lang, who initially agreed but eventually rejected that notion as more evidence came out: https://infogalactic.com/info/Andrew_Lang And further expanded upon by Wilhelm Schmidt: https://infogalactic.com/info/Wilhelm_Schmidt_(linguist) Here's a summary of Lang's/Schmidt's argument: https://archive.ph/JONAg Now Tylor's argument hinges on the concept that "early religion", like you just said, sprouted as a form of animism in the "transition" from humanity "starting" as hunter-gatherers and becoming agricultural: https://archive.ph/6jNpG However, the excavation of sites like Gobekli Tepe showed the exact opposite. That religion sprang up before agriculture: https://archive.ph/G0TIW And, as Jean-Pierre Vernant details in his own work: https://infogalactic.com/info/Jean-Pierre_Vernant The origin of polytheism sprouted as a way to address the "paradox" of a singular omnipotent god, or to argue that powers were divided among the heavens: https://archive.ph/z7LRO
>>384395 >Gods that were flawed and could be swayed by emotion as opposed to a supreme being who was above emotion and better than humanity Reminds me of Augustine's Confessions where he observed that when the ancient Greek play writers wrote about Gods, instead of elevating humans at the level of Gods, they denigrated Gods at the level of a human. As such, when a human would cheat, steal, rape, commit netorare, kill, commit fratricide, and all other manners of nasty stuff, those humans weren't acting beast but as one of the Gods of Mount Olympus.
>>384408 Of course religion sprang up before agriculture, people have been burying their dead for ~300k years. Vernant also seems to be a communist and shunned by his peers for being ahistorical in the wiki link you posted, and the q&a site simply mentions his belief that a plurality of gods could not be omnipotent, and further down uses his arguments for polytheism coming first. Have to work so I can't read the rest.
>>384356 Every professional PR agency is just someone paid to suck dick while lying inbetween.
>>384410 >Of course religion sprang up before agriculture Anon, according to the Tylor school of thought on man's societal evolution, we went from hunter-gathers TO agriculture and THEN religion.
>>384410 >>384412 Also, they need religion to be a byproduct of man's development because of two reasons. First is that it further confirms their theories that religion is just a man-made "opiate" created for the purposes of controlling the masses and gives them the excuse to use religion however they want (Including destroy it). Second is that, even if it's something like a Chariots of the Gods scenario, religion coming before societal development carries with it the implication that people (Particularly THEM) are NOT the be-all-end-all no matter how much education/intelligence you have and that there is always a "greater power/being" out there.

That, and forcing the addition of new characters that serve no purpose whatsoever, but are demanded by toy companies so they can create more useless toys to sell. Listening to TIK's video on the life of Marx while I was working today, I came to two realizations that I feel like no one is really addressing about Socialism: https://www.bitchute.com/video/YnwC8WxKMMc/ The first is that Socialism exists for the purpose of creating a society for Marx where he doesn't have to work. TIK outright says this in the video, as well as innumerable other people, but I feel like it isn't emphasized enough that Socialism is a system exists to benefit Marx. As in, Marx envisioned Socialism for his exclusive benefit and all the people that fawned over his idea were getting the run around because they believed that the system would apply to themselves, too. This includes all the people and groups who have tried to "refine" Marx (Marcuse) or "fix" Socialism (Like the Nazis and Fascists) for the past two centuries. NONE of them understand that Socialism ONLY existed for Marx and no one else because that was a system for him and him alone. And THAT is the reason why Socialism will always fail. It has nothing to do with how impractical the system is nor logistically impossible it is to implement, it is because the ONE person it was designed for died over 140 years ago. Second is the fact that Marx's Socialism was ALREADY achieved in the 19th century during his lifetime. Here's his description of his utopia: <...while in communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for ME to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticise after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, herdsman or critic. For those that haven't seen the video, let me give you an extremely brief summary of how Karl Marx managed to live and survive for 45 years while never working a day in his life (No, journalism is not a real job): He demanded and convinced his family, friends, followers, and even some government officials to keep giving him money. And they did, so much so that it was in excess of his monthly bills (That he never paid). And you want to know what did with all that freedom: Spent every waking moment smoking opium like he was trying to start a fire, drinking like he was trying to put one out, buying anything that he impulsively wanted, and swinging it at parties with the aristocracy. The guy was ALREADY living in his Socialist paradise, with almost every single person he ever encountered or graced bending over backwards just to keep him alive and happy. And the result of living in this perfect world that he had made for himself is that never did a single thing he said he wanted to and hated the world for it. In essence and ironically, Marx was the perfect Jew. >>384483 >>384486 You can mail your cash/check, use crypto, or even use the payment processors that are local to the region.

>>384519 To put it bluntly the entire world would need to go back to the "ABSOLUTE FREEDOM NO MATTER WHAT" mindset it had back in the early late 90's and 2000's, and I just do not see that realistically happening at this point. There's been too much unforgiveable shit and sunken coasts, too many innocent peoples lives ruined and cognitive dissonance run amok. You've got retarded faggots and niggers quite literally and smugly proclaiming "FICTION IS REALITY" and accusing others of everything under the sun and enacting never ending struggle sessions anytime anyone does anything they find "icky" The time to do something would've been back nearly a decade ago alongside GG possibly even earlier, Now it's like wanting to do something about an infected limb that's turned necrotic; your options are only cut it off or wait until it falls off on it's own.
>>384519 >The real problem, being highlighted by these situations, is that there is very little left to fight over or for. Some fresh E-Celeb faggotry is going on. Forgive me for not having an archive or being very clear on the details, but I don't have a Twatter account and barely know anything about anybody involved. Lots of fuckers are making jewtube videos about it though. Apparently Second Wind is having some controversy because Nick Calandra is such an insufferable champaign socialist that's it's actively causing problems for the company. Enough to cause one of their most popular (Apparently? I never heard of Frost of Rivia) contributors to just quit and publicly start burning bridges by calling Nick out. Another guy quit as well, but Nick is trying to cover it as if he fired the guy. Maybe he did, and that's what caused Frost to snap - I don't fucking know. The only person I'd expect anyone here to even know offhand is Yahtzee who, so far, is completely silent on the matter because he doesn't want to get involved in the drama... just like he didn't say shit about the direction of the company or the dumb shit Nick was saying and doing - even though Nick was basically skimming money that Yahtzee earned for them. Again, this is more of a heads up than an informative post. Might want to keep a bag of marshmallows nearby to roast in case the whole company goes up in flames. It has the potential to be entertaining.

We discovered something interesting about the site, but its not public yet so I dunno. I was doing a little server work and happened to catch the reports. Sorry for the delay. Wanna hear something interesting though? The site might have substantially more users than we thought. The way the site calculates metrics like UIDs is something we've never bothered to look at closely because aside from one bug we fixed a million years ago its such a minor and relatively unimportant system. But we got to poking at it after Codexx had a lightbulb moment in the devops chat the other day concerning a slightly related topic, and discovered that the way UIDs are counted is dumb and useless in a way that makes it extremely likely to be suppressing our actual count of regular users. The truth is that the UID count displayed on boards and the homepage is the absolute minimum possible number of countable users in just one single day. Anyone out there who posts less often than every 24 hours isn't counted at all. If you post on a Friday and then again on Sunday. you don't add anything to the count because you skipped Saturday. This is dumb as shit and we're shocked that its doing it. But because of how Lynxchan does things involving posts and timers in the database its actually a pretty complicated thing to tamper with, so don't expect it to change soon. But yeah. If you want to take it to the opposite extreme, the maximum number of countable users that the stats could be ignoring is as high as 4,800 UIDs. Realistically I think the real number is probably around double whats displayed, or ~1400-1600 which would match the frontend traffic stats the best.

Japan's Anime Boom Is Attracting Wealthy Investors, Major Conglomerates https://archive.is/acDoo >A lot of work goes into making your favorite anime. From My Hero Academia to Kimi ni Todoke, no anime experiences the same path to production. The industry is vast, and over the decades, the machinations of anime production have become more or less routine. However, change is coming as the industry is booming thanks to post-COVID interest, and a new report suggests two major conglomerates are now ready to invest in the future of anime. >The report, as noted by Variety, reveals that two Japanese conglomerates have begun to invest in the anime industry. The first is Marubeni, a trading pillar that stands as Japan's 13th largest corporation. The conglomerate has formed a new venture with Shogakukan, a popular manga publisher, to begin investing in both the anime and manga markets. >In a statement regarding its investment, Marubeni highlighted the immense potential in anime. "Overseas sales of Japanese content were estimated in 2022 to be equivalent to JPY4.7 trillion ($2.9 billion). The popularity of Japanese manga and anime is growing rapidly to a backdrop of rising demand for stay-at-home stocks occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as aggressive distribution by major overseas distributors, with the market expanding to encompass a variety of merchandise, including games." >"Lack of direct distribution networks and retail outlets means that attractive content cannot be delivered to fans around the world, resulting in lost opportunities. This situation has led to an increase in pirated products, highlighting the need for a system that ensures the distribution of legitimate goods," the statement continues. >As for the second investor, we have Mizuho Securities on board. The company, which is a division of Mizuho Keiretsu, is planning to invest in anime by way of a film fund. According to Mizuho Securities, its film fund will be dedicated to anime projects, and it aims to raise $15 million by the end of this year. Creators will then be able to apply for funding by pitching a project, and that isn't all Mizuho is up to. >As it turns out, the conglomerate is teaming up with Questry and Royalty Bank on additional anime funding. The trio are looking to flush the industry with cash investments of up to $5 million at a time. This kind of infusion will help pull the anime industry away from its current reliance on production committees. >While institutional funding was once prevalent in the anime industry, it has since adopted the production committee method. After all, a committee system divvies up production costs to keep any one company away from financial ruin if the project flops. However, this system also means the profits are distributed in kind, leaving some workers like animators wanting in terms of pay. >With these two new conglomerates investing in anime, the question now stands whether the industry can return to institutional financing. In recent years, studios like MAPPA have pushed away from the committee production system, and they've done so with great returns. Much of this success is due to support from global brands like Netflix, Crunchyroll, Disney+, and beyond. In the same way conglomerates are watching anime, Hollywood is doing the same. From live-action adaptations to bold licensing deals, Hollywood is seeing the value of anime given its stunning surge in popularity. So if you feel as if anime has peaked, well – think again.

Pokemon is the world of the demonic, of the satanic! Why should we carry around these monsters in our pockets? >When former President Trump called JD Vance to offer him the role of his running mate, Vance almost missed the call because his son was trying to show him Pokémon cards, the Republican Ohio Senator explained in a Friday interview. Vance actually did miss Trump‘s first phone call during the first day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, he explained >”We fly to Milwaukee, and I have no idea what’s going on and the plane doesn’t have Wi-Fi on it. It’s about an hour flight and I land and I’ve got about 350 messages. One of them is from somebody on the Trump campaign and says ‘hey, check your phone, make sure you don’t miss a call because a really important call is coming’. About an hour later I get another message from the same person who says ‘hey, you just missed a really important call’. So I call Trump and I say ‘hey, sir, what’s going on’ and he’s says ‘JD, you missed a very important phone call, and now I’m gonna have to pick someone else’. I tense up and almost have a heart attack. My son, who’s seven, is in the hotel room with me, and he’s really into Pokémon. So he’s trying to talk to me about Pikachu and I’m on the phone with Donald Trump whose telling me I’ve missed the boat. I’m about to have a heart attack and I say ‘SON, SHUT THE HELL UP FOR 30 SECONDS ABOUT PIKACHU. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PHONE CALL OF MY LIFE!’ >Vance then explained that Trump asked to talk to his son and read out the statement he would eventually release to the public announcing Vance as his VP pick. “He asked my son, ‘what do you think about that?’ And my son’s like ‘oh, it sounds ok. You know who Pikachu is?.’ and Trump hangs up the phone and the statement goes out five minutes later. Then my whole life changed. That’s how it happened,” Vance concluded. https://archive.is/F301I FUCKING GAMERS CAME THIS CLOSE TO RUINING THE COUNTRY, AGAIN

Good morning/afternoon. After last night I did some thinking about trying to figure out how many actual UIDs we have and I hit on an idea. I went into the admin panel and purged all the stale bypasses from the database. Since bypasses are unique per user, it means that by counting only the recently used ones that have made posts, and then by purging all the dumped ones that anons may have left behind from switching bypasses manually or using Tor, then the remainder should be an approximate count of one bypass per real recent user over the past week with no duplicates. That number, according to Lynxchan, is 2,197 WEW.

>>384664 Its more than I expected. I was thinking the site stats counter was cutting the number by maybe half, but the real number is more like triple what the counter displays. It makes sense. I'm an admin on the fucking site and even I only post every couple days or so, so my own UIDs haven't been counting in the list either. Like they'll show up today from posting here, but they'll be gone for tomorrow unless I post again then. 8chan prime used to do a full aggregate count of UIDs weekly, which was a much better metric of "recent users." To put it in perspective, the stat counter shows 726 UIDs today. If every single anon takes tomorrow off, but a completely different set of 726 people all post tomorrow, the UID counter will still show 726 when the reality would be that 1452 people posted in the past 2 days. Oh but you see, you can't criticize him for that, because he's totally not one of them, either. In fact, after days of complaining he'll say in a twenty-deep twitter thread that he obviously never liked what they were doing, either, and it's your fault for equating the majority of his active behavior running directly opposed to anyone's good-sense of rightful sympathy with the most obvious motivation for craven behavior. No, you see, blind partisanship is what YOU do, you moralist basket of deplorables. HE's too enlightened to encourage targets and discourage bullies and rioters. >>384685 If all you want is a count of how many users posted today, then it makes sense. But trying to figure out how many users the site or a board really has needs more data than that for the reason I outlined above. For instance if we take these numbers as a baseline we could be as big as 4chan but the UID counter would say we're only 1/12 their size, because 4chan counts their UIDs monthly. Because so many people only post every now and then, or come make a flurry of posts on a Friday night once a week or what have you, a one day snapshot doesn't really tell you dick about anything except your most hardcore daily regulars. There's room to debate how big of a snapshot you'd want for it to be useful. I think halfchan doing it monthly is probably too much, but old 8chan's one week count seems like it would be about right to me. Estimating UIDs from a cleaned up list of active bypasses is okay but clunky. We really need a better system.

>>384746 Leftists (what you mean here is communism) look at the natural world and see hierarchy. Because of the source of their beliefs, they think "everything that currently exists must be destroyed simply because it exists currently." The opposite of hierarchy is equality. But since equality is unnatural, it must be constantly enforced… BY force. That is, the forceful physical destruction of existing bodies politic, social systems, economic trends, etc. The trick is that they only retroactively come up with "reasons" for what they're doing (to hide that they're doing it simply because their holy book demands the inversion of reality). So they say workers are being "oppressed" by the people for whom they work and that landowners who have more land than you "stole" the land, etc.
>>384759 Every leftist, even the slightest one, is as guilty as the worst commie, so he's not wrong.
>>384759 There is no problem in the existence of hierarchy, to begin with even there is different levels of equality that create hierarchies on their own
E. COLI RUNS RAMPANT IN APPLE’S INDIAN FACTORIES - TOO MUCH FECAL MATTER FOUND IN NEWLY SHIPPED GOYPHONES APPLE’S SUPPLY CHAIN REBALANCING: OVERCOMING CHALLENGES IN INDIA AND RETURNING TO CHINESE PRODUCTION >In recent years, Apple has tried to reduce risks by diversifying its supply chain. One key strategy has been moving some production orders to India. However, this shift faced many hurdles, especially with the assembly of the iPhone 15. Last year, Indian factories had major issues during the assembly of the iPhone 15. Due to quality problems, many of the products were returned. Foxconn’s base in Sriperumbudur, India, started making the iPhone 15 series in August 2023. The goal was to shorten the shipping time difference between India and China and sync the supply chains of both places. The Indian factory closely followed its Chinese counterpart, supplying iPhone 15 series phones to the global market with only a few weeks’ difference. Despite these efforts, Indian factories still face many problems. They rely heavily on parts from mainland China, which affects both quality and efficiency. Indian factories have low iPhone yield rates (only about 50%) with hygiene issues, including high E. coli levels, shuttering production. These problems hurt product exports to Europe and mainland China, impacting sales. >Due to these issues, Apple was forced to cut prices and promoted sales to lessen the impact. Apple has faced increased difficulty in keeping quality and efficiency in its Indian production sites. As a response to these setbacks, Apple has adjusted its strategy this year with production moving back to mainland China. The issue was so severe that Apple CEO Tim Cook personally visited China to readjust the supply chain. While the initial push to diversify and reduce dependence on China faced hurdles, the company’s quick response and resource shift show its adaptability to ensuring quality products make it to market. https://archive.is/VHQiF

Japanese Conglomerates Promoting DEI And ESG Initiatives Invest In Anime And Manga Industry, ‘Freiren’ Publisher Shogakukan Among Partners https://archive.ph/rS3Nx >As interest in anime and manga continues to grow on both the local and international levels, a pair of Japan’s largest conglomerates – both of whom unfortunately promote DEI and ESG initiatives as part of their core values – are now looking to get in on the weaboo game. >Going in alphabetical order, the first of these corporate investors is Marubeni, a leader in Japan’s cereal and paper industries and the nation’s overall fifth-biggest general trading company. >On June 27th, Marubeni announced that they would be teaming up with publisher Shogakukan – whose print offerings include the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Kamen Rider Kuuga, and Pokémon Special mangas, as well as the Shimoneta and Gonna be the Twin-Tail!! light novels series – to establish “a new company for the global development of Japanese manga and anime content.” >“The sales channels for [Japanese manga and anime] are not well established, especially in overseas markets,” explained the company of their new partnership. “Lack of direct distribution networks and retail outlets means that attractive content cannot be delivered to fans around the world, resulting in lost opportunities. This situation has led to an increase in pirated products, highlighting the need for a system that ensures the distribution of legitimate goods.” >“The [new company] aims to offer a breakthrough solution to this situation thereby contributing to maximizing the value of Japanese content by connecting authors with fans around the world,” they added. “Specifically, the [new company] will deliver Japanese content in a variety of domains, including the development of goods using manga and anime content, sales at retail outlets, and the establishment of an overseas sales distribution network, as well as digital content utilizing the latest technology.” >Notably, per their own website, Marubeni is a strong adherent to the tenants of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investing principles. >Further, they’ve performed so well in their dedication that they were recognized as an “Environmentally Sustainable Company” at the February 2024 Japanese ESG Finance Awards – one of the event’s top honors, as awarded to those companies doing the most to promote such related efforts. >(Interestingly, most of their reported ESG initiatives are concerned with the ‘Environmental‘ aspect of their operations. Meanwhile, their ‘Social‘ efforts seem to be more focused on promoting gender diversity than racial diversity). >The second corporate investor is the Mizuho Financial Group. >A banking holding company, the group is moving to establish an anime film invest fund by the end of the year. >According to Bloomberg, the fund will begin with a pool of ¥1.5 billion ($9.5 million) to ¥2.5 billion ($17 million) in financing, with Mizuho Financial Group looking to invest roughly ¥800 million ($5.4 million) into each film they partner with. >And similar-but-slightly-different to Marubeni, Mizuho Financial Group are committed to the principles of DEI. >“In alignment with Mizuho’s Corporate Identity and to create lasting value for all stakeholders in the economies and communities in which we operate, we promote equity of opportunity and an inclusive culture where diversity, in its many forms, is welcomed,” reads the company’s official Commitment to Diversity. “We incorporate varied perspectives into our daily working practices and decision making, and strive to create an environment where employees can flourish, feel a sense of belonging and are proud to work.” >Whether or not the principles of ESG and DEI will feature prominently in the development of either Marubeni or Mizuho Financial Group’s respective anime productions. >However, given what we’ve seen from the West, let’s just say the odds aren’t looking good. >As of writing, neither Marubeni nor Mizuho Financial Group have announced their first respective anime productions.

Natural hierarchy, in which civilization cannot thrive, or pure social hierarchy, in which the leftists have dominated almost entirely due to subverting the pathological altruism of whites, especially women? >But since equality is unnatural, it must be constantly enforced… BY force As opposed to what? Hierarchy, enforced by force? It's not just equality that's unnatural, it's every measure of success in modern life, and all of the rules you want us to play by. If you want to invent rules, you have to force people to play by them. If you fail to do that, you have lost. >>384798 >Natural hierarchy, in which civilization cannot thrive But that's wrong. >>384803 Er, Monarchies and Dictatorships are about the closest government types you'll find that adhere to a natural hierarchy. Even before civilizations existed, we lived in familial clans which followed an alpha male leader or family of leaders. Republics are un-natural, and we're not really geared mentally to deal with leadership by committee. At best you might have had a council of elders, but they typically were respected advisors - not leaders. Hell, even WITHIN the Republic we have - you still find heirachies. Party leaders, department heads, Generals, etc. Not to mention the President is basically a neutered King who has to reapply for his job every four years. Representative Democracy is antithetical to human organizational structures. You even see it in the voting patterns. Most people just focus on voting for the President, and then vote down-ballot according to tribal/party lines. So it may be the preferable governmental system over a dictatorship, but we are more inclined psychologically - naturally - to respond to the Dear Leader than to Bureaucrat #4573 from District 8.

Whoever said natural is good in of itself for being natural is either ignorant or malicious. Time and time again there are several solutions that we apply that do not come up in nature that end up with better results than what is natural, this applies in literally all fields, and it's why the term "non-intuitive" works very well when it actually matters and is not deceived by our own """natural""" biases. Of course some natural solutions are better than what we come up, they had more than a billion years of self-optimizing selection happening on top of them, but to go as far as to not see that some fields are in local maximums is just naïve.
