/k/ is cordially invited to join us at the 4th Soulcalibur 6 tournament. You may choose 1 or 2 characters to fight (preferably a b-tan or character relevant for your board). The 4th tournament is being hosted here: >>>/icup/6376 It is an interboard game with CPUs fighting each other.
>>2 (OP) Flags on posts?
>>12872 Yeah I like flags. >>50 (35) >>53 (52) i forgot about that, back when I first claimed the board I tried them for a day. Uh any anons opposed?
>>12908 I feel like flags might be too identifying right now with too little people but it mite b cool in the future when a lot more show up. State flags would also be interesting.
>>12969 state flags would be neat
>>12969 >>12979 Yeah good points. Alright maybe no flags for now then, but state flags are pretty cool. Yeah longer term maybe. Other than that hope everyones having a great day.
>>13038 It's a beautiful day out, hope yours is well too Do you think the sticky could get updated too?
>>13043 >Looks at OP, everything is 6 years old Oh shit. Uh yeah, lemme do that.
>>13043 Okay updated to reflect pauls passing (rip) and the archive link for the murdercube. What am I forgetting?
>>13101 could remove the coof general as well, otherwise looks fine

>>13153 Ye. Okay someone in some thread I lurked for ten minutes mentioned the word filters. I vaguely remember creating some my first day here back in like 2021. So I checked and they were chuckle worthy, but I ain't married to em. Here's the current list.
(7.81 KB 856x146 wordfilters page 3.PNG)

(19.83 KB 751x370 wordfilters page 2.PNG)

(21.74 KB 751x369 wordfilters page 1.PNG)

>>13351 I made these for a browser extension back on 4/k/. They made some of the arguments pretty funny.
>>13373 Lmao!
>>13378 Thx, I made them while pretty drunk but they did a good job of making shit posters sound like the unhinged weebs of yesteryear. I don't think filtering russia and ukraine is necessary since the old shitposters had a very limited lexicon and this caught a lot of it. If Ukraine and Russia are filtered I suggest using fictional countries from animes or vidya like Belka or something. Otherwise it could make discussions of wars in the the real countries they get filtered to a little confusing.
>>13351 as many luls as the filters brought, at the end of the day they are cringe (imo). id just let anons like >>13373 handle it. >>13373 >frenchmen >albanians >transfer student yeah, what extension is that? this shit is hilarious
>>13432 Foxreplace. If you know a bit about regex you can get a lot of humor out of it. I was working on one that would replace a random word in a post that ended with -ack with Candlejack. But I could never quite
>>13432 I think filters are useful for three things. Being funny, encouraging originality if they are updated frequently, and helping newfags adapt to board culture. We don't have newfags right now, but we probably will eventually, and the other two are valid anyway.
Seeing Paul Harell's name in the top post makes me sad. It was to soon.

>>2 (OP) I would like to propose a change to the board. I would like the handsome skellington in the lower right corner to be replaced with my boy here. That is all.
>>13782 Seconded
recommend mods start banning the spammers/chatbots that start threads with retarded questions before the problem gets out of hand like half/k/

>>13994 Okay, I am into that, but I also am super busy. I need volunteers to help look after the board. You guys know the drill, join the army or watch your homeland burn. Looking for a few good men, preferably Americans, cuz no one else understands freedoms. I WANT YOU!
There are some pretty good threads in the catalog that are bumplocked, presumably since they were bumplocked when they were imported from anon.cafe, since they have a lot less posts than threads that aren't bumplocked. Is it possible to remove the bumplock from them? It'd be a shame to see actually good threads bumped off of page 10 because some newfag keeps making dogshit threads. Here are the ones that I thought were worth preserving. >>3698 >>4841 >>8822 I haven't read through the other bumplocked threads, but they're probably more worth keeping around than the retarded question threads that are basically just spam.
>>14449 how do I (or any other anon) volunteer? I'm never going back to 4/k/, it's clear the ownership hates us.
>>14838 I don't think you can unbumplock a thread, lemme bug Codexx tonight about that, and hopefully yeah that can be done soon! >>14938 You make an account and post your username here, case sensitive. Thank you in advance!
>>14948 username gypsymoth never janny'd before, but I can deal with spam from time to time.
(648.00 B 48x48 janny big flag.png)

>>14963 Thats perfect man, the only enforcement/k needs is adherence to US federal law, and spam lol. Any help is appreciated especially because of course, this is volunteer work, you cannot do this 24/7 or make it your life, because you will die or go crazy. A man's gotta work, and have something else going on, merely to maintain perspective. So yeah if you happen to be using the board and notice spam, just real quick log in and delete or ban as appropriate, ban lengths work as follows 1s is one second, 1m is minute, 1h is one hour, 1d is one day, 1m is one month, and last 1y is one year. You should basically never issue a ban longer than three days for spam, because it's often a tor or vpn node and clogging those up long term can be annoying for some anons, if something is outright illegal than it gets permabanned for legal reasons, to permaban you either enter nothing in the ban length field or anything other than, for example "1d". The default setting if entry unrecognized being permaban, message field should basically always be left blank, if you delete it, then no one sees it, so it's just weird and petty and vindictive, the ban reason field is logged in the logs though and so is public, so try to write something small but easily understandable. I think that's everything, oh and thank you!
>>14948 >I don't think you can unbumplock a thread Bummer. Maybe try stickying one then unstickying it? Perhaps the sticky and bumplock flags are mutually exclusive.
>>14969 >you cannot do this 24/7 or make it your life, because you will die or go crazy I have a job, don't worry. God forbid if I need to ban someone for something, I'll put it in the description. Should I fail in any of my duties, feel free to yank perms and tell me to fuck off. Pic related, me before becoming a janny, and me after becoming a janny. This is a new low.
>>13782 The Skeleton has been around for a while, maybe bring him back for every Halloween.
>>15029 Thats two votes for changing it
>>13782 >>15029 >>15064 I don't mind the skelly, although I rarely use this board's default CSS. Not a vote for removing him, but I wouldn't miss him that much.
(936.50 KB 160x240 986-2624369470.gif)

>>15064 While I find the skeleton kinda cool, zergface does seem more /k/. Another option might be the Remove Kebab guy. Since zergface is already the spoiler image and a flag.
>>15113 I like remove kebab Unrelated, add the shitter glock banner
(40.22 KB 256x230 Remove Kebab.png)

How about Kebab & animated stripes? The background is subtle enough to move without being too distracting.
