The entire script for RWBY could be read in a couple hours, all these people could have years worth of dialogue between one another to flesh out their relationships, that the medium of the show cannot possibly capture.

I disagree, there's plenty of good examples of screenwriting economy that could have carried across things much more easily, with more succinct dialogue. An excellent example of this can be seen in the 5th Harry Potter film regarding his relationship with Sirius, specifically the line during the finale battle where Sirius says "Nice one James!" to Harry, which along with Radcliffe's reaction to Oldman's words, succinctly carries across a mass of things that has over a chapter's worth of writing dedicated to it in the books. >I try not to get into the weeds of actually thinking of RWBY relationships like they are real people.
