Almost all the characters in RWBY have Emblems, we all know that, but later on I think this got kinda dropped outside of Oz, Salem, Weiss, Ruby, Cinder, Jaune and Nora, whose symbols are clearly visible. For characters like Neo or Blake, their symbols barely show up at all, and then we have newer characters who have NO symbols. An interesting example is the Curious Cat, I cannot find a single emblem for the character; what WOULD his/it's emblem be?

In terms of story; The Bother Gods tell her the caveats of releasing her curse, even if cryptically; when she learns her lesson to properly value and respect life, and accept its end. What I think is required is some combination of Jaune's Semblance, Ruby's Eyes and all 4 Maiden Powers, plus a Talk no Jutsu moment from Ruby to Salem. Jak 2 (base undertone of setting presentation) and Saint's Row 3 (unserious, turn-off-brain clapalong) and Prototype (opposite for vibe, but it's the same formula at play. Where there is this huge complex mess of ongoing factors which puts the player/viewer into immediately needing to get a picture of the whole.

And poor Ruby has been nerfed into the fucking ground, literally and figuratively. Jaune is not unique in his fighting being poorly written, hell he actually has significantly improved over the Volumes, while the rest didn't really. TL;DR: Jaune is not the only one that suffers under the writing, but since he isn't as flashy it appears that he's held back more.

There isn't an eleventh hour powerup and there won't be. This was conveyed when it was revealed Salem and Ozma were barred from death. The RWBY setting doesn't afford the option of deciding how things will pan out. Ultimately, only the evil side had agency and that was due to being on the side of the soulless hordes instead of fighting to keep them at bay. I can suppose the bitchers want to see some of Jaune's potential realized in order to get something worth watching for a hypothetical v10 release, but that just won't happen without turning it into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse type of shit, where nothing matters and we'll all end up at the same place at the end of the day. By the logic those who feel like it's Jaune who needs to step up, the so-called heroes sabotage their own side well enough by being so passive, post v4, and stopping their growth that hard.
