Wukong Black Myth Anonymous 08/17/2024 (Sat) 18:46:22 Id: c9c270 No. 1002564
Anyone interested in the monkey game? Its not a souls-like for one.
No i won't buy chinese spyware disguised as a metroidmaycraynia with a little souslike.
I am also boycotting all chink games, not even gonna pirate them. At most I would be willing to buy gook games.
Couldn't this be in the souls thread?

>>1002569 Japs aren't as low as bugmen. I simply cannot trust anything chinese in my computer. I know how they operate.
>>1002564 I have no clue about this game other than that the devs refused SBI's money
>>1002582 SBI and their associated press goons are trying very hard to boycott it for refusing to pay them as consultants.
>>1002564 I might buy it. But I don't like anything like Elden Ring that was a terrible game.
>>1002564 Man the Chinks are awful. Not only do they ripoff the story of Dragon Ball Z but they can't even get the look right.
>>1002564 I'm kinda interested in it, although I'm getting mixed messaging if it's a soulslike or not.
>>1002601 Just the UI makes me think of Nioh crossed with Sekiro.
>chinkshit with denuvo cancer Kek, won't be touching this crap

>>1002598 Journey to the West is Dragon Ball Z now?

Both journey to the west and dragon ball owe everything to the original work "Secret Journey" by chinese tibetan monk from the 7th century AD Po-Ju.
>>1002853 Damn, I wish this had a sequel.
>>1002853 CHINA NUMBA WAN
Did you see that streamer guideline hoax? Who do you think was behind that?
>running CCP malware sage
>>1002878 The Jews?
Now people are saying the streamer agreement actually was real, but only for certain people. This story is confusing, there are multiple reports from credible sources saying different things.
>>1002582 >>1002584 Any nation that refuses this queer bullshit is a friend in my eyes.
>>1002584 What's hilarious is that they aren't even trying to be creative with it. All the reviews I have seen from popular sources have all claimed the game to be sexist and disturbing with its anti-women content. Yet they admit in the same articles that they cannot really find any examples of this. Seems like they can't even lie right this time.
>>1003004 Dude, absolutely! Based Somalia!
In case people think the outrage over the game's staff is an exaggeration, here is the lead artist on Weibo.
>>1003022 Didn't the translations end up as being so poorly translated that it's speculated it was done purposely.
>>1003022 >if I want to be feminine, I'll work out at the gym everyday ???
>>1003028 True; the gist of the post translates to "if you want games that appeal to girls we already have games that appeal to girls but we ourselves make games for the male demographic." Still, Asia has been a huge target for the globohomo types because its countries refuse to adopt the Western replacement and sex policies (in fact the World Economic Forum is particularly mad at China because they plotted to use the country as a hideout and refuge, only for Xi Jinping to rugpull them, kick them out, and get the ball rolling with BRICS), and gamers are better organized and more aware of shenanigans (see: Megalians getting kicked out en masse in South Korea, "mixed toilet game" becoming a common term in Chinese netlingo, and Japan migrating to PC and mobile away from Soyny and calling out the new Asscreed). Whether or not the allegations are true, Wukong is being seen as a threat as it's a high production value title that has had no "oversight" (read: globohomo's tentacles didn't get to it). It's much like how globohomo is realizing that Westerners are using anime and manga as a substitute for capeshit and escape from pozz and are trying in vain to get the Asians to cuck out as well so they can reassert control.
>>1003034 >get the ball rolling with BRICS At least two countries in that bloc are in active hostilities with each other and one is a failed state
They released a benchmark for the game, and it can't even hit 45 FPS on a 4090 unless you enable TAA. I don't see the point. Maybe when the 6090 comes out we'll be able to play it in a decent framerate. Or when/if Denuvo is cracked.
So is this thing a Souls-like, a Souls-lite, or neither? I can't get any confirmation. >>1002575 At this point I think I would trust the Chinese in my computer more than the US government and corporations. For one thing because those inscrutable yellow devils are on the other side of the planet.
(454.96 KB 810x688 Carl_flipping_the_bird.png)

Why do so many people care about this one monkey? It's a literal chinkshit character and a overused one at that
>>1003044 Because it's not being western pozz and sjws are raging over that.
>>1003044 Because the devs are rumored to have told SBI to take a hike when they were told to buy their consulting services. That's it really. There weren't many people talking about the game before that.
>>1003053 I don't like Chinks but western leftists thought Chinks of all people would ever bend the knee is hilarious. I should remind you that the Chinx have place their Truco-Mongol Muslim populations in commie Han reeducation camps and other ethic groups into ghettos. They also openly wish death to the Japanese who still refuse to give a single fuck about the war crimes committed during WW2.
>>1003044 He's a very old monkey from an old story. He's had a long time to percolate in azn culture. Basically same reason westerners care about Dracula.
>>1003044 You clearly are too underaged to have watched Monkey(Magic).
>>1003019 Its the same shit as Stellar Blade being "literal violence against women, this will cause deaths", and then ending up selling even more out of people's sheer spite towards journos and DEI crap.
>>1003034 If they were smart they would leave the bread and circuses alone. If they had they would have not people beginning to rise against them. When you cannot go anywhere without it being forced in your face people's only responses are to either submit completely or fight. But it seems like (((they))) forgot that "fight" was indeed one of the options. >>1003036 BRICS isn't Bizarro NATO or something. It's just an economic confederation that's attempting to replace the petrodollar as the international reserve currency, or at least to provide an alternate option.
>>1003075 Thread Theme delivery!
>>1003044 Checked and kek'd at your ignorance. You clearly haven't heard of Monkey, Great Sage. Equal of Heaven. The legend states that Monkey (also known as Wukong) was buried under a mountain as punishment for his arrogance. For a bit of trivia, The makers of Donkey Kong avoided the copy write litigation from the owners of the King Kong franchise because they were able to determine that the name Kong came from the word Wukong. Have you never wondered why Donkey Kong was an ape?
How long until this game gets cracked?
(370.83 KB 1920x1080 Future.jpg)

>Black Myth: Wukong
>>1003043 nah its more in line with nioh or sekiro. Standard 3rd person action game, not as punishing bosses, there's a slow down effect on parry, you unlock magic abilities via leveling up. Honestly Im sick of every game labeled as "souls-like" just because there's narrow hallways and giant abomination enemies. Its just a third person action hack n slash
This is the second game I've encounter that the only thing stopping me from getting it is that I don't have anything to run it on.
>>1003111 Every country has a central bank, it's all the same club, if you think otherwise you are low iq or intentionally lying.
>>1003116 >For a bit of trivia, The makers of Donkey Kong avoided the copy write litigation from the owners of the King Kong franchise because they were able to determine that the name Kong came from the word Wukong. Have you never wondered why Donkey Kong was an ape? That actually makes a lot of sense.
>>1003116 I was beginning to wonder the same thing right before you posted this. Has there ever been a Wukong kaiju movie? If there's a movie where Guan Yu comes back as a giant and fights ayylmaos you would think there would be one where the Monkey King fights Mecha Buddha or some shit.
(233.02 KB 1440x1080 Hank_Scorpio.webp)

>>1003111 >attempting to replace the petrodollar as the international reserve currency, or at least to provide an alternate option. It's astonishing how this place has become less and less literate in geopolitics, considering globohomo pulled an Arab Spring over Gaddafi wanting to back Libya's dinar with gold. And now the very same possibility exists with Russia and China. One of the countries in BRICS? Saudi Arabia. Guess who just let an agreement to hold US government debt as reserves lapse without renewal? And with the USD becoming hyperinflated and the US Armed Forces exposed as a paper tiger, more and more circumstances increase the value proposition of BRICS as a hedge. Globohomo is chimping out hard at this because the current basis of the fiat dollar, an all-powerful US "global police" that noone can stand up to, just got devalued thanks to Kabul and Pookraine. Russia and China combined have 8M troops at their command and counting, meaning they would automatically win any world war initiated compared to Shartfartica's 1M troops and declining. And Iran "mysteriously" has access to Russian and Chinese drones. BRICS figured out the Achilles heel of the West and one poke at (((Pissrael))) was enough to begin the collapse of the house of cards. Overall the deck right now is ridiculously stacked in BRICS' favor. All the stories coming out against it are meant to fool the same populace unaware that their navy is being rerouted to defend muh Jerusalem. Anyways as it turned out China wuz numba wan after all. Unreal Engine numba eight. We're probably going to have to fuck with the Engine.ini config file to get it to run properly.
>>1003167 Anon, do you understand how silly and unhinged you look claiming the USA is a paper tiger and then bringing up China and Russia right afterwards?
>>1003116 I always heard it was because Universal had previously had a case where they successfully argued that the original novel (which was actually written to tie in with the film but came out first, and thus contains the copyright of all the basic concepts) was in the public domain. Is that bullshit? The other bit of Nintendo lore that goes with this is that Nintendo's head lawyer against Universal was named Kirby, and they named the later Game Boy game after him. Also, anon clearly has heard of the character. He just doesn't get why it's so popular, especially with non-chinks. The last bit it a bit curious. It points to the increasing relevance of china on the entertainment landscape. They keep inserting the character, even more than Japan has done, to appeal to the chinese. It's like how all those dumb action movies in the last decade have had token chinese characters.
What the hell is going on here?

>>1003507 Im still amazed flashgitz managed to make such an adorable pocahontas.
>>1003502 >>1003507 As far as I know, the only "proof" we have is that the game dev claimed that they were contacted by ESG stooges and they refused, however they did not provide any email or screesnshot of a conversation as proof. At most you can infer from the fact that IGN and all the other major major reviewers are giving it low scores, or at least that's what I heard, checking now IGN's review, they gave it an 8.
>>1003492 Any stats for wegame & epic?
Why is this game so popular? I've barely heard much about it but apparently its already over 1 million concurrent on (((Steam))) qith overwhelmingly positive reviews (and more suspiciously, many of them are under 2 hours in playtime)
>>1003492 Can you buy "statistics" like they do in most social media? >>1003557 Nothing else on the market + Shiny graphics + "promising" new dev. It also looks a lot like Sekiro and people loved that game.

(35.15 KB 655x404 NUMBA WAN.png)

>despite all the controversy >despite all the complaining >despite all the critiques, valid and no >the game launched to almost 1,000,000 concurrent players
>>1003560 Ah thanks. >>1003271 I cannot help but get a Wolong vib from this. That's not the best first impression for me.
>>1003561 Apparently it's just chinks playing their chink game. There are more reviews than it shows; it excludes off-site purchased reviews. Only 3k of 98k total reviews are in English.
>>1003564 It's probably because Wukong is arguably the first AAA singleplayer game coming out of China. Games like Elden Ring have been popular there for years but the Chinese gaming industry has mostly been gacha, mobileshit, and MMOs, so they finally get to play one of fancy premium games from their home country. "Premium purchase" is actually what the industry calls traditional singleplayer games, by the way

(70.09 KB 640x480 harem.jpg)

>>1003567 Tale of Wuxia(a chink remake of a 90s chink game) is quite good for that feeling. It is part Visual Novel, part spreadsheet simulator, part turn based JRPG. Has a lot of replay value, with multiple endings, fighting styles, story choices, and if you play your cards right(as in, look at the spreadsheet in one of the guides) you can even get the harem ending with 10 girls, I think. My biggest gripes with it, is that those dirty chinks never released the DLC in English, and even the base game has some parts that are still in chink. Fuck those chinks, just pirate it, and don't give them a single penny.

>>1004168 According to anonymous third-party surveys, something like 30-50% of the country doesn't support the government. On official government surveys it's all 95%, of course. Pure vranyo. I have a study about that here if you want to look into it. Another interesting insight is how 40% of respondents said they don't protest out of fear.
>>1003271 Is this the game's tutorial? Enemies aren't doing anything.
>>1004173 I'm curious how things are going to move, with how things are the government is obviously going to lose grip on power and people by allowing fictional creativity to exist in some form, either though games, gacha or others on but they allowed it to get too deep into the country so a massive crackdown is very hard to do, and i don't think time is on their side either
I just can't take Chinese language seriously when hearing it in shows, games or movies.

>>1005796 A number of reasons, it's a language isolate, if you search for what linguists think Old Japanese sounds like it's like a weird Polynesian islander sounding thing. Then they imported half their vocab from Chinese but through the longest game of telephone in existence, in which the weird Chinese words morphed to fit within their indigenous phonetic system. As a result the funky monkey islander language turned into some weird fusion with the ching chong language and lost the disgustingness of both. Korean happened mostly the same way but they were much closer to China's sphere of influence and so ended up with a yogurt-gargling sounding language.
>>1002861 >>1002853 There needs to be more Po~ju in the world.
>>1005800 It absolutely does not
>>1005866 It's painful that some of the best eromanga artists from like 10+ years ago decided to just fuck off and not do anything. Every so often Po-ju does like two pinup pages in an anthology and that's it. I can't imagine he makes any money so maybe he resigned to being a salaryman and only occasionally draws and keeps it as a forgotten pastime.

>>1005897 >>1005791 I suppose you could make the argument that BRICS is, instead of making a parallel system, is about shuffling the power within the system. Lots of people around the world are really quite tired of America's shit and would like to remove them from the HNIC position they've held since WWII. I personally don't know the full truth but the whole thing is all about removing the US from the "Number One, Only One" global position. >>1005870 It's fucking killing me. >>1005796 This is not the complete book though you get the gist of it. Japs surpased and were able to mantain a pure race on top of it. Chinks were raped by 30 million tribes throughout the years. Bugmen today can't hold a candle to the niggers that came up with paper and gunpowder.
>>1002564 This titled the way it is Black Myth: Wukong because is suppose to be the start of a series of Souls-lites based on Chinese myth but what else is there to draw from other than Journey and Romance that is considered state approved enough in China? Black Myth: Ne Zha?
>>1006009 Great leap forward
>>1006004 >Japs surpased[sic] and were able to mantain[sic] a pure race on top of it. I always found ethnic purism weird but the way people get into ethnic purism about other races is especially odd. It's not even true; the Japanese are a mixture of Jōmon, Yayoi, Ryukyuan, and Ainu peoples and other smaller cultures, most of these people being immigrants from Taiwan, Korea, and China. The modern Japanese (Wajin) are only 12% related to Japan's original inhabitants. And there's nothing wrong with that, virtually every ethnicity on the planet has a history like this. It's why ethnic purism is so fucking stupid. Yes mister "one forth Scottish, one third Italian, one forth German, and one eighth Cherokee", preach the virtues of racial cleanliness. >>1006009 The game isn't really a Soulslike but I don't think so, a lot of games do the unnecessary subtitle thing and I think it's for copyright. You can't claim ownership over a folktale like Sun Wukong, this is a lesson people learned from Disney generically titling all their early films "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Pinocchio". Put some bullshit before it? A-Okay. >Ne Zha I don't think twink media would be state approved, then again they have made historical C-dramas on homosexual myths.
CAN YOU CIA FAGGOTS DISCUSS THE FUCKING GAME? PSOT GAYM WEBUMS AND EHMPEE4S ITT! I don't fucking care about: >chinese century >three gorges dam >journalist allegations >56% amerimutt feelings >israel war crime apologies >gamergays being vindicated >chink work ethic or lack thereof >amount of chink women being RAPED >assorted chinese liveleak/hiphopstar videos >reseterra dilation routine being suddenly interrupted >"vranyo", "metodichka", "zigger" and other CIA failed memes and most importantly I don't care about you and your failed proxy wars, Jose. I want to talk about the damn game! Souls is not my genre, and my PC is far away atm, so I can't form a judgement based on my own gameplay experience. From what I've gathered from a single stream by a generous local user, I, as a never-souls-player, saw many similar aspects to souls games. The 90s kung-fu movie movesets were a cool addition, but I wish the game has had more of it and less of roll/dodge/wait/poke/repeat. For some reason the story is told independently(?) of the gameplay, which is popular with asian writers, but confuses 80% of players. The lack of a distinct fighting styles should be compensated with variety of combos and moves. Monkey sitting on a stick is funny. But stick hitboxes removing your health instead of simply making you fall to the ground made no sense. Also funny monkey noises.

>>1006012 I think saying "but Japan is a mixture of other East Asian nations" is kind of a half truth, in fact Imperial Japan used that as a point of justification for their colonialism of Korea and China. At the same time the time periods and reasons these other cultures came in is generally known, like it was common practice for upper class people in all of these places to send children as "hostages" and marry into influential clans or royalty. Korean kingdoms as well had very good relations with Yamato kingdoms and many Koreans were freely coming and going from Japan for a few hundred years. But at the same you can ask, okay, is a British person not British because Rome invaded them 2000 years ago? No, that's way different than 10 million Mexicans coming in over a decade and proudly claiming they're American. >>1006036 >NIGGUH CALM DOWN IT'S JUST GAMES NIGGA! >>1007385 If it's by Ouka Studios and Ouka is shutting down Ouka probably did something right. They clearly didn't chase enough money.
>>1007428 They haven't made a single game until Visions. Netease is the company that propped up Iga's company after he left Konami and produced the canned Bloodstained Inti Creates game with kikestarter money. They also propped up a company from the Yakuza creator that's also likely to get shitcanned but it explains the whole Chinese audience push before he left.
>>1007442 https://automaton-media.com/en/interviews/exclusive-visions-of-mana-directors-talk-high-speed-hands-on-game-development-hybrid-studio/ >Kenji Ozawa: I’m Kenji Ozawa. I’m also working with Yoshida on directing Visions of Mana. I started out at Bandai Namco Entertainment, working as a producer for apps with wide target audiences like Mobile Suit Gundam, negotiating with the copyright holders and proposing marketing methods. About three years after entering the company, I was transferred to Bandai Namco Entertainment (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. >Sometime later, I decided that I wanted to make console games. I heard a new studio was being set up and thought it sounded interesting, so I joined NetEase Games around the time of Ouka Studios’ establishment. Unlike Yoshida, I live and work in Ghangzhou and I have been in China for six years in total. >Inside a Japan x China Hybrid Studio >── Could you explain what makes Ouka Studios stand out? >Ozawa: The main thing about Ouka Studios is that it is a hybrid studio comprised of teams in Japan and China. As for Ouka Studios’ distinctive features, it employs a large number of creators who are adept with Unreal Engine, which enables smooth and speedy production of deliverables. Another feature is that we have both Chinese and Japanese speakers on our staff, which has enabled us to improve the accuracy with which we communicate the contents of each game to the users. For example, the title we are currently working on is being developed for worldwide release, and we have made a proposal for adjusting the nuances of the Simplified Chinese localization.
>>1007451 Netease also bought Grasshopper aka Suda's company a few years back.
>>1007385 The reviews coming in put it equal to Trials. If "as good as other Mana games" means you like Trials you'll probably like Visions.

>>1008697 Would.
>>1008697 It refers to Russian soldiers in Ukraine. Dude's a vatkin lmao, the other things he listed - vranyo and metodichka - are the Russian words for lying and guides, respectively. "Lying" is not a clean translation. Vranyo is a lie of convenience you don't expect somebody to believe. A social fiction. Like when the USSR said its markets were full of food when in reality they were barren. Metodichka here literally refers to guides. In context, guides the Russian government produces for how to discuss a topic, but it's also used colloquially to refer to talking points regarding the war and how it's talked about. It's not a war, it's a "military operation". They're not trying to annex Ukraine in a bout of irredentism, they're "fighting NATO aggression". That kind of thing.
>>1008727 >Vranyo is a lie of convenience you don't expect somebody to believe. A social fiction. Like when the USSR said its markets were full of food when in reality they were barren. So an "open secret". >In context, guides the Russian government produces for how to discuss a topic, but it's also used colloquially to refer to talking points regarding the war and how it's talked about. So the "official narrative".
>>1008739 Vranyo in a vacuum basically means "a lie told but not necessarily expected to be believed" (similar to "bullshitting" in American English) but in fuller context of Russian culture it becomes substantially more Orwellian - literally, this is where Orwell got it from. To use an example from the ongoing war, Russian sources often describe drone and missile strikes against them by claiming that all of the incoming munitions were successfully intercepted but "the falling debris started a fire" and anyone challenging this is guilty of "defaming the armed forces of the Russian federation" which is a criminal offense. For an older example, you had production figures in the early days of the USSR. Every year they would put out figures claiming how they were producing more and more of everything year over year but these things were curiously absent when the population went looking for them and publicly questioning the veracity of the figures on the basis that you've been on a waiting list for a new tractor for ten years was a good way to get a visit from the NKVD Effectively, bullshit that no reasonable person could be expected to swallow was fed to the population at gunpoint and this produced a somewhat surrealist atmosphere in the USSR. If you're interested in this I would recommend the book Hammer and Tickle, which is all about political humor in the USSR. Finally, I have a quote, a joke and an image to illustrate these things. >They know that they are lying. We know that they are lying. They know that we know that they are lying. We know that they know that we know that they are lying. And still they are lying. > Don't think. If you think, don't speak. If you think and speak then don't write. If you think, speak and write then don't sign. If you think, speak, write and sign then don't be surprised.
