Announcement: Creation of /news/ specifically for the 2024 election Anonymous 09/05/2024 (Thu) 23:51:00 Id: ba206f No. 1010218
I GAVE THE BOARD AWAY TO SOMEONE WHO I TRUST SINCE I DIDN'T REALLY WANT THE BOARD ANYWAY Hello /v/, with the presidential debate coming up in a few days. I really wanted to make a board where anons can discuss the topic at hand without flooding the GG thread. Therefore, due to the lack of wanting to go to >>>/pol/, I decided to take up the mantle and temporarily make the board >>>/news/. With >>>/news/, my goals are to basically be like >>>/pol/ and hopefully inspire that Board Owner with some fresh ideas and hopefully understand the harsh feedback he has been getting. After the election is over and done with, I plan on giving away the board or deleting it if that's what the wider community wants. I basically want to run it like a political version of /v/, where users are actively talking about current events and hot topics. Although we'll see what comes of it. Personally, I really only made the board since for the debates last time everyone flooded the GG thread including myself, which shouldn't be the norm since GG is about video game politics, culture wars, and censorship specifically. I hope that with >>>/news/, I am able to create a community much like this one where people are talking about politics in an adult but fun way. If you would like to take over the board in my place, please apply to my personal email which is markmann@tuta.com or give me some recommendations and I hope to find a suitable replacement sooner rather than later. Thank you Mark.

Why? Not many people are gonna use it. It's getting close to the election, of course it'll come up in conversation from time to time because its important and notable, and then the talks will disappear not long after the election is over. It's a cycle and it only happens once every 4 years.
>>1010229 Just to redirect people for when the presidential debate is happening and for live results of the election.
>>1010231 If /pol/ wants to take themselves seriously, I'd be happy to redirect people to them. Hell, I'll probably end up redirecting people to both. I just don't think >>>/pol/ is doing a particularly good job of covering the election, so I wanted to step up and make a place for the politically active folk among us to have a place to talk about this hot topic without shitting up GG.
Imagine if George Bush won the elections
>>1010240 Jeb! will win 2028
Is this going to go down just as well as trying to revive /a/?
>>1010242 Probably yeah, I still think it's worth trying tho
I support this idea. It seems too many faggots have forgotten what browser tabs are and want to talk about everything in one thread.
It's certainly worth a try. It's clear that the GG thread usually ends up being somewhat of a watercooler thread for /v/, so the usual slight off-topic conversation doesn't usually do much damage. And oftentimes people moderate themselves and tell people to get back on track. But with the inevitable flood of political conversation that's to come it would be difficult to keep up that self-moderation atmosphere. If /pol/ was in a better state, the clear solution would be to point people there. But with things as they are, this new board will do the trick.
People would sooner use this thread than a dedicated board, you underestimate anon's laziness these days.
>second top thread contains a nujak in the OP and unironically says WE'RE SO BACK Off to a great start.
>/news/ is controlled by a jew Talk about perpetuating stereotypes...
>>1010293 Damn, no anti-israel threads then. Shmuley got destroyed. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=fAXa7Y5kh_M
FUCK /V/ DELETE /V/
>>1010306 I understand your frustration!
And be sure to check out its sister board, >>>/newsplus/ !
Time for the news, Mark is fat, more at 11.

>>1010319 Apparently being fat is like being first born of satan.
>>1010218 >people don't want to use a good legacy board like /pol/ >surely they'll go to a new legacy board associate with 8kunt!
>>1010338 The claim is that the /pol/ BO here is a retard. But I don't use the board enough to know or care if it's true. No one on this site seems to care about /pol/ shit beyond having some watercooler banter in the GG thread anyways. I'm never uniquely interested in politics and current events in isolation that I would use a board dedicated to them. Politics as a hobby is unironically more man-child tier than video games and porn addiction.
>>1010338 >news >8kun imagine not knowing about /n/ im fine not using this pol, its shite

>>1010338 >nigger forgetting that /new/ was THE legacy board that /pol/ was made to replace in 2011 due to moot not liking how it got used You are a newfaggot, leave.

>>1010218 Well hopefully it goes better than the last time.
New board-tan required? We could repurpose this design.

>>1010698 What about this one?
Women should return to the home and kids should be home schooled. Public school's now a disaster of indoctrination.
Had two threads open to browse, posted in the wrong one but it should be breaking news women are returning to kitchens.
>>1010539 these aren't newfaggots they're newsfaggots
HEADS UP I ended up giving away the board to someone that I trust, since I'm not that much of a /pol/tard. The plans to redirect the election autism to >>>/news/ and >>>/pol/ will continue as planned though.
>>1010799 Cool, sounds sorted.
>>1010799 Jewcy, thanks mark!
