Lessons that I've taken for next time: since we can do multiple OP images, I think we should probably pick a consistent image to use as the one from now on, with the secondary images as the "traditional" OP images/thread edition. Also, 8chan REALLY needs autonoko on new thread creation, since I accidentally made a duplicate thread after not realizing that I'd made this one. (and I deleted it)

>>1522168 It is exactly because of the gameplay. Even if you don't want to take part in the game you can just watch the cards interact and see the chaos unfold. The newer games look better, even koikatsu looks much better but everything else is shallow. At that point if I want to just see a 3d anime model I can just look in other places.

Fucking koikatsu sunshine runs like dogshit, takes forever to load even on an SSD and the characters only get like 4 outfit slots while the first game gave you more.

Speaking as someone who dabbles in Koikatsu every so often because I think it's fun to sometime screw around in the maker, I always come back to AA2 because while the studio and creative aspects of newer games are more accessible, AA2 has an actually fun core gameplay loop that's interesting to return to. It's fun, it's silly, and it's a little stupid sometimes. In addition to this, some people enjoy playing as a girl, doing the FxF sex scenes, or even recreating their husbando (and taking part in MxM stuff if they want.) No other game has really made an effort to make the male aspect as enticing; hell, in Koikatsu, the male character creator is identical to the woman's, just with the tits turned off. SVS might have all of these to a certain degree, but it's extremely watered down and fundamentally, less fun. The men are unvoiced, the interactions feel more sanitised. The difference between AA2 and other games is simple. For most other games, you're playing for the studio, maybe the Free H every so often, while everything else is an afterthought. In AA2, from my perspective, it's reversed, especially since the poser didn't even exist in the vanilla game in the first place.

Digitalcraft is powerful but I don't want to deal with all the effects and lightings most of time, or prop hunting from other people, I just want to do some posing, and aa2u's sliders give me more control and satisfaction overall speaking.

I was never a fan of KK's bulbous heads, and both KK and SVS cards have this kind of default sterile gloss that makes cards look samey and uninteresting. Without a doubt I'm sure you can customize them to remove or reduce those features, but I don't feel like expending that effort to just get to a starting point, especially when I'm already there with AA2. And all that being said, yes the gameplay is way more fun and interesting! Make a class and see what kind of shenanigans your cards get up to.

That's the only aspect of the new games that I prefer. It's a shame that they keep making diet AA2 with their newer games rather than a proper follow up expanding the existing gameplay.

That being said, modding for AA2 has become somewhat of an investment and also an incredibly useful tool for me over the years. I can do what I want without being reliant on others in making my food which can be rather specific

My first illusion game was my first porn game (AG3) and when I stumbled onto AA2, it blew that out of the water. AA2 meets every one of my "needs" in a porn game while scratching an itch that no other porn game scratches, so I don't see a reason to ever move away from it. I never got a game "for the poser," so I see the addition of AA2's poser as pure bonus. It's not something I use a whole lot or in complicated ways, but I'm eternally grateful for its existence. Lastly, I don't think KK or SVS look better than AA2. They're different, but not a different that I prefer over AA2. KK cards CAN be absolutely stunning, but that's rarely a function of the game and more of a function of that card maker/porter's capabilities. AA2 cards can look stunning as well if made by an equally talented maker. For an example, Brandy's Genshin cards are basically ripped right out of Genshin, so the KK cards that are also ripped right out of Genshin don't look any worse or better - they're direct rips. As for modding, it's actually harder to mod AA2 than the games that came after, since AA2 is proprietary file types while KK and SVS are Unity.
There was an attempt at a Maker May class playthrough here, though maybe I need to cut back on a few cards or check on some modules.

Judging by my logs the last action before the game crashed happened to be Miss Tadami trying to spread bad rumors about Emmy's relationship, which technically involved herself.

Been a while since I've looked at the original Komachi card, though it feels good to take her out of WIP status even if I technically scrapped the original and started mostly from scratch, much like Suika before. Finally booted up the game for the first time in a long while. Decided to do a random class along with the "challenge" of not talking to anyone. Surprisingly already had someone confess to me, thanks to doing group activities when prompted.
How would I go on about making a module that makes a girl always nude unless her low poly model has her school bag on? Is it even possible to make modules that are affected by the character's low poly model?

I forget if they wear it in the morning, but they put it on in the evening after changing into their "go home" wear (uniform). But honestly it sounds like you just want a girl who is wearing the naked outfit for everything except the "uniform" clothing slot.

He has 3 new modules, technically 4 but the last one is pretty basic. Smooth Talker makes people horny when discussing lude stuff. NTR protagonist which gives him a chance to have sex with anyone if their horny even if they are in a relationship and it can bypass Singleminded and Loyal. Also Addictive Partner which gives them an increasing percentage chance of anyone they sleep with coming back for another round.

Another interesting crash; the log made me think the teacher was at fault again but the actual crash dump seems to reference a hair mesh/low poly... The cost to train and host a suitable model, much less one that will manage to keep various personalities separate, and manage their various histories, across hundreds or thousands of instances would be very high. It's genuinely easier and cheaper to come up with the lines for each individual one and get some people to voice them and then throw that out to get people to buy it than to sell the game as a service. And in any case, we're 10+ years into AA2 and still playing it, so I'd say this is plenty replayable on its own.

Hey all, sorry for being dead recently, my old laptop died like a month ago. My new one's a bit better though, so I might try and see if SVS can run on it. I'm also gonna be a bit more busy in the fall compared to summer, so I'll still be sorta dead but I'll try and post here and make some cards before the end of the year. Did I miss anything fun? I see that modders are working on adding new rooms, that's crazy cool.

>>1736737 Yeah, KK is just lobotomized AA2 with a facelift and on an actual game engine. You'll probably end up learning a bit of the poser anyway. It's not like KK where it's its own game mode but rather it's a floating window where you can see the list of the characters on screen and can move their limbs, change their outfit etc. It's available in every context with a high poly model, so you can use it in dialogue, in the dressing room and even mid-sex. AA2 modding is a different beast from KK and is objectively the better environment, because there's less mods, they're all gathered in one place and you want them all. Cards in the DB also come with most of their mods attached so as long as you have the base mods you'll always get the card that looks correct(with caveat for ancient cards)

Importing anims from Blender makes it very smooth, but it can't animate facial expressions. By turning every frame in the animation into a pose in the .xa file we could then use albums to animate it in, but at the cost of some smoothness. Fun.

>>1791677 Yeah, looks like the mood update likely happens before the game runs its own update and gets overwritten. Delayed triggers should help with that. I've not touched triggers in a while so I'm talking from my memory. The idea, is that you have a new action that will emit an event with the specified label after the specified delay. That label is a strong and it can be anything you like, ideally you should encode the event name and parameters. Optional/required event basically means if it's emitted after the period change(optional events are dropped, required events execute(either after the delay or after period change, don't remember). You can then create a trigger for a delayed event execution and after your usual checks(module enabled, this card, etc.) you get the label and decode it. See if it's the event you want and then use the parameters to do whatever.

The new game gives me pretty good first impression, character looks take a step up from SVS with improved rendering and lighting, but the 3D world map is kinda rough. One thing that's way better than kk is the voice acting and sound quality, they are no longer pain to hear. I am planning on making Silent "talk" using ASL, but for some reason her animations have condoms flying in the background, and the condoms ONLY appear in conversations. All I did was add a new animation clip into the original HAK_00_00_01_00.xa file, then overrode that file with the modified file. This means, in effect, even at delay 0, your delayed trigger will always execute AFTER all the triggers handle the origin event. You can detect when the conversation ends by checking the convo state and then you can emit your event with a minimal delay. For the label I also suggest passing the arguments in it. I'd construct a string like "Witnessed,11"(I usually use "::" as a separator because comas can be part of a sentence ) and then use the csv substring actions to disassemble it. Also, I don't remember if we fixed the Drop storage actions. Verify that they do their job first before relying on them.

been messing with making a character. whats a good baseline for amount of traits, preferences and modules for some early cards? im trying not to overbloat them but also dont want them to be too simple.

Dialogue can get interrupted so make sure interruptions are off if you spontaneously decide to pose them. poser can load props, i.e. posable 3d objects, and the rooms you see in the background are props as well. You don't need to go to a specific location for that. for portrait shots, people usually just roll the camera 90 degrees and rotate the image in post. Speaking of, there's quite a lot of post-processing involved to make fancier pics. Those neon blue lights are illusion's favorite hair highlights and you can change them in aau's hair tab.

Briefly checking out Aicomi and it's really bad. It's like a worse copy of SVS with less thought and effort put into it. The overall gameplay is barebones and the interactions are incredibly shallow. I can see why hardly anyone bothered to even share it. Who would want to mod this given its current state? There's no future for this game. Mentally Illgames wanted $60 for this? LOL. What a scam.

Is there any way I could port custom vroid outfits to the game? I just want to replicate the default outfits options of having the ability to change state (skirt to knees, shirt lifted over bra, etc. etc.). Also anybody have any guides on getting rid of that stupid shading dot in the middle of the shota face? Like it's right on the nose. Better yet how to activate body sliders on that body type, I have no idea & there's no guides for idiots on how to do the xyz of body tab. Last question, is there an image guide like for scIera picture for body tans, body/face textures, eye & hair textures? I am a lurker so sorry for this fat load of questions, but any answers are appreciated. I just like to watch this place. Third one's hair was mentioned though you may also want to tweak the placement of the loose threads up front to better blend with the rest of the hair (which a flatter texture could also help with).

I agree about freckles darker, looking at it more it mixes with skin tan. Blue boi was one of earlier wips, I left it with no highlights because I couldn't find a texture to work. I'll try again. I also see the problem with the hairs, I'll tweak that. Regarding the quality, I love the crunchy look. I have a potato laptop, but it can run higher settings. I just really like the jaggedness. Does anyone know why the game crashes when I transfer someone in to an ongoing class? I can transfer them out and I can go to the next day but if I transfer any card in it crashes the game.

SVS had progression speed issues but it was fixed by mods and you can also tinker with how relationships progress. missing in SVS: teacher role, pregnancy, voiced male personalities, bigger class size and karaoke[apparently its still in SVS files but its yet to be restored through mods]. aa2 personalities are better imo some mechanics also changed, rape has been turned into blackmail, and you must catch the target character cheating on their lover or doing public lewd things so you can blackmail them into sex. you can also lewd a character in a relationship then blackmail them if you have the schemer trait there's also threesomes in SVS and "fortunes" which can apply modifiers to a full game day modding is where SVS loses. there's been a lot of progress, like the ability to switch to any character midgame, a lot more outfits and freedom regarding accessories and body customization, more sex positions and enhancing the H system overall, outfit styles [weekend, night, "horny"]... but aa2 has custom personalities which add variety to the cards you meet and make, and modules which make the gameplay more dynamic, letting things like murderers, detectives, rituals and gangs happen in your class. aa2 also has yaoi and a lot more clothing options for boys Porting or making a custom personality for SVS is possible but takes a very long time to do so, and though work on it has been shown, nobody has posted a custom personality yet. overall i'd say it's worth playing it, but there's a couple possible setbacks depending on your muhsheen: the modded game[the only way worth playing] is around 50 gb and loadings will take a long time if you're in a full class and dont have an SSD. the game is harder to run in low spec PCs >is it just better for studio and things like that? if you want something exclusively for studio KK is probably the better option. SVS has a separate studio you need to go after, has more convenient posing once you learn it and lets you fiddle a lot more with lighting, but aa2 has a lot more props and maps to play with and you can use the poser any time [character creation or even midgame]
>>1884557 sounds like its worth to give it a shot then, I quite hope for finding at some point something that gets both a preety good studio esq app (like I understand the AA2 one but it feels really annoying to me to use) while also having an actual good game behind it as well (preety sure Koi lacks a lot in there).
