Today I want to talk about Himari and her hair. Himari's hair is a slightly curly silver that goes down to her upper thighs, if I'm not mistaken. She does not have any instance in the wiki of her leaving the wheelchair, providing a unique difficulty in estimating the length of her hair. Her hair is strategically placed, with two pieces of hair in front of her chest, a hairband at the top of her forehead, and the frail clifftop bloom on her left side. It's a style that, were it not for the sci-fi style she dresses is, and maybe a bit more color, she could definitely be seen in another world representing their elves. If anything, Himari's outfit and hairstyle are likely intentionally synergistic with one another, though the origin story of Himari's style likely bleeds into why she enjoys the occult, as well as wholly irrelevant, but very interesting, to think about.
Her hair doesn't have much to it, with the aforementioned synergism with her outfit being the important part, painting the whole canvas in a frail, cloud-like tone. The front ties move from hair to upperwear, almost hiding the separate brush-stroke this takes. Said upperwear is hard to describe, due to it having many mysterious layers on a mysterious hacker. The outermost wear, a thin, dark cream jacket adding to her frailty, not put over her shoulders to demonstrate confidence. Below that, a bone-white coat-like garment, also thin, subtly showing the shirt and its accompanying thin body within, with a large button, front and center, like the center of a flower. The shirt, as mentioned before, shows a hint to how Akeboshi Himari is actually rather light, adding further to the frail image. Below that, a v-neck sweater which, much like everything else, is somewhat thin, giving her another slight air of confidence despite her incredibly frail visage. Then at last, there is what is assumed to be her underclothes, though whether her pants and shirt are connected or not is an alluring mystery, meant to show how Himari is so frail that she cannot even bare most her skin to the outside world, for the winds may blow the clifftop flower away...
Her lower half is introduced a few ways, either through her gloves hiding from the cruel world, the large, tan blanket she carries along with her, or the simple shoes and socks she wears, adding humanity to the beauty, and beauty to the humanity. Below that, a hint to the above shirt, revealing a potential solution to a mystery in that her shirt is, in fact, a dress. More mysteries, however, require more delicate and thorough analysis. And below her dress, it is known that her pants are there. A design that doesn't truly reveal much, but shows that which is needed, like her halo. Whatever is inside is a mystery, but the mystery is the allure.
To be blunt, there really isn't much at all that can be added to Himari's Expedition outfit. That's likely intentional, meant to show Himari's delicate nature taken literally, making her appear somewhat silly, but also quite visible. If there is something worth pointing out here, the holographic console Himari uses has the SPTF logo on her left, and Veritas in the middle. It's likely that Veritas is in the center due to most Millennium security one way or another tying back to the hacking group, but it might also be her way of keeping eyes on things while she's hiding away from the sun to avoid melting, or cooped in her room to avoid becoming a popsicle on a wheelchair.
Himari's operator uniform is uniquely Himari, in how little it really changes her design. For her hair, the hairband was replaced by the operator's hat, but the most bold part of it is the fact that her gloves have been replaced with much shorter ones, revealing her wrists! That, and her simple shoes have been replaced with fancier boots, and the dress is replaced with the operator uniform. It is both reliable, and also very amusing to see Himari adapt to such an odd situation very well.
Ironically, Himari actually doesn't care about fashionable items like Samuela or Lip Gloss. Therefore, Himari likely believes in her natural beauty. That's not to say she's not cleaning herself, because while Himari might be somewhat naive in matters like this, she at least knows not to let her body be filthy. It might even be the case that Himari spends more time than the average student in the shower or bath cleaning herself and tidying up, trying to capitalize as much as possible on that natural beauty. Her hair is one of the rare ones that doesn't have a set scent to it due to her research in the occult and paranormal. One day, saffron is the lucky scent, the next it's making her hair smell like coconut. That unpredictable side of Himari makes her very exciting, though, since it completes the painting of the clifftop bloom. After all, a painting is more than just the brushstrokes on the canvas. It's the experience, which Himari achieves well by highlighting her strengths, and running straight through her weaknesses. It might be like a bull in a China shop sometimes, but that is the true beauty of the tensai bishoujo hacker.
