Today I want to talk about Hare and her hair.
>hairanon you already did that two days ago
But that wasn't a hairpost, this is.
Hare has wavy gray hair that, when pulled down, goes down to her hips. She wears her hair in a ponytail, and art does a good job at hiding how exactly it's tied which usually means that it's just a typical plain hairtie, the color up to interpretation (though it's normally black). Her hair has a clear divider in her air vents that show where her bangs end, with said air vents going all the way down to rest on Hare's shoulders. Despite that, Hare's ears are usually visible, made apparent by Athena-3's photo of her. Finally, Hare has a hairclip on her right side, just a hair's length in front of where that side's air vent is, though this isn't a rule that's set in stone, again demonstrated by her momotalk photo where it's instead on her left side. This might be a fluke, though, since in the vast majority of cases it appears on her right side. To my knowledge, only her and Shiroko wear this type of hairclip, which is probably just a coincidence where the two had a similar thought process on wanting to add a slight touch to their hair, but most things were too over-the-top so they instead picked the cross hairpin. In Hare's case, it's a simple black piece.
Hare is very consistent when it comes to her hairstyle, as stated earlier. Her camp attire now has her wearing a white baseball cap, with her hairstyle effectively unchanged. The only difference is that her airvents aren't visible because of the cap, which does lead to those locks of hair being ever so slightly further down.
Hare's pajamas has her hair put down and resting naturally, showing that those airvents and the ponytail's hair are connected. It's also the most apparent that Hare's hair has a few strands that don't move the same way as the rest of her hair. These loose ends seem to be closer to Kotama's case (improper hair care) than Chihiro's (stress fraying the head of hair), with BG CS PV4 058 (hit image limit) showing what a stress Hare's hair looks like. It's a really minor case, probably caused by her playing with her hair whenever she's thinking about something.
Hare's outfit is pretty simple, starting with the labcoat. Millennium has a lot of students who wear jackets that can be reasonably interpreted as a labcoat (some more reasonable than others), but Hare's is very obviously a labcoat, perhaps the most labcoat-like labcoat of them all. It goes down the middle of her calves, and if it weren't for the Millennium arm patch with "Veritas S.C" written under it, or the graffiti "VERITAS" pinned on the left side of her jacket, she could reasonably pass as any other mob were it not for the green coloring. Her gun is similarly incredibly standard, also denoting her affiliation to Veritas. Intriguingly, the gun she holds in her sprite has this, but the gun used in the menu for her UE does not have "Veritas S.C" printed on it, instead only having the Millennium logo on it. Something that probably makes gun aficionados cry is how, because she holds it by the straps loosely, she's dragging the poor gun's muzzle along the ground. More about Hare's equipment (and halo) later. She has her school-issued ID tag in her labcoat's right pocket, which, considering her other options, might be the best place for it (even if might be easy to pickpocket). Hare's hoodie is another unassuming piece of clothing. It's a pull-over, which is why she doesn't wear anything under it. A bit under the hood is a logo that says
TECH OVER
D.TECH 001
To be honest, I don't know what to make of it, though with Hare's fashion sense, Occam's Razor applies. She likely just bought some hoodies one day because she finds them comfortable, being warm and somewhat loose-fitting. Hare wears dolphin shorts and it suddenly hit me as I write this that her and Kasumi are weirdly close in what they choose to wear: A lab coat, short shorts, a loose-fitting upper garment, and shoes/sandals that easily slip on/off. Speaking of her shoes, they seem to fit a bit closer to Hare's feet than most other students do with their shoes, suggesting these shoes have a light fabric despite the thick-looking soles underneath.
Hare's camping outfit still follows the main idea of Hare preferring comfort over fashion. The first piece of clothing that's apparent is the olive green windbreaker. Even when Hare is wearing a different outfit, she manages to come back to the color green. The next piece of clothing typically seen is the black scarf, being both comfortable and a surprisingly smart way to make the outfit appear fashionable. Directly under that is a gray sweatshirt that she normally tucks under her shorts. I say normally because in her l2d, Hare's shirt looks to be over her shorts, which, considering the hike up a mountain, is reasonable. On the topic of Hare's shorts, they're gym shorts, and a darker gray than the shirt. It's a good middleground between warmth in something like pants and comfort, since Hare seems to like not having much covering her legs. Speaking of her legs, Hare wears tights to help keep the wind's biting cold from more easily chilling her to the bone. Hare also wears socks, which are likely enough in her case to further keep her warmth from escaping, but are also likey worn to prevent blistering on her ankles from the shoes biting into them. Hare has a cream backpack behind her, which is very heavy-duty, seeing how it's capable of carrying a PC inside. On her left side is what appaers to be a holder for some metallic implement. It's nothing electronic, so the exact manner of what it is eludes me. Perhaps it holds something to help her in the wilderness?
When Hare wears pajamas, she wears an oversized black shirt that says "STACK OVERFLOW" on it, and uses some simple sandals as slippers. Of course, it's Hare's daki that most people remember when it comes to her pajamas. If I had to put a length to it, I'd say it's probably around 250cm.
First, Hare's halo. It may not seem like it, but it's not entirely flat, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Hare's halo is a chartreuse yellow, split into thirds. Within the bounds of the halo are three smaller, black halos of varying sizes, with a chartreuse yellow circle inside each of them. Said black halos, by the way, have marginally differing elevations, as well as appearing like thin rings as opposed to a drawn circle. The design is well thought out, because there's multiple interpretations that work. The first and most famous one is that it looks like the bubbles you find in a carbonated beverage, like an energy drink. However, it could also represent a LAN. The outer bounds being the outer limit of the signal, and the halos inside being devices. It could also be indicative of the parent-child relationship files have, the outer bounds being the parent directory (with the gaps being access to different drives), and the halos within are folders within, each with their own different sizes. A fourth one, though I don't quite know how to word it, is that it implies Hare's status as the hub for her drones like Athena-3.
Which then leads to talking about Hare's various implements, beginning with said drones. They're pretty fascinating pieces of technology, especially when compared to what tYuuka's sprites show us with Millennium's robots. These are harder to wrap my head around compared to said robots, but I would imagine there's some mechanism that allows these drones to either use electromagnetism to facilitate flight, or there's some method in which it catches the air around it in such a manner so as to perpetually glide. Hare's drones are, quite frankly, marvelous designs, even for Millennium's standards. They're also deceptively vicious in how they're capable of providing an EMP that can work similar to a taser. That does give more credibility to the idea that the drones can fly through catching the wind, and likely use this function to also store power that can then be expelled should Hare order it. It also stands to reason that Hare uses some sort of capacitor in the drones, minimizing weight at the expense of increasing the frequency in which they need to be charging. One last thing about the drones Hare uses is that while they're all based on the same general design, they likely have subtle differences and capabilities. Athena-3, for example, was given artificial intelligence, suggesting that this particular drone's use is supportive in nature to assist Hare in certain tasks, while other drones might be specifically factored to be EMP drones, and others still might have other functions, such as reconnaisance. They're all likely named in a similar manner to Athena-3.
Hare's tablet is almost certainly standard-issue, but that little cat keychain with a pink bowtie on it adds a lot of individuality to it. Realistically speaking, there's nothing too exciting going on with this, being mainly used as a control panel for her drones. It either has a solar panel on the back side, Hare taped over the back camera, or said back camera is surprisingly bulky. It seems to be that she taped over a bulky camera with slightly transparent tape, only taking off said tape if the situation really requires her to use that camera.
Last but certainly not least is the Auto-aimer. Hare's lack of firearm experience is mainly because she uses her drones for most issues, leading to her likely being unaware of how to properly use her gun. That lack of experience is likely why it's set to semi-auto, even though that red F clearly indicates she could full-auto with it; she's used it so little that she isn't used to the recoil. Aside from that, there's likely all sorts of gestures that could make her gun do all manner of things, maybe even shoot hot sauce for pizza if she found the right gesture, but she doesn't seem to really care to learn that.
Hare's hair is, much like the rest of Hare, remarkably average. It smells exactly like what you'd expect to find in the stores around Millennium, and her hairstyle takes a similar approach. That being said, of course I'm brushing her hair, even if it's a strange thing to do for her case... Assuming Athena-3 doesn't blurt out her bashful consent for her. I think Athena-3 is a fun side character for Hare, and would like my own brutally honest drone companion.
Hare's name [ハレ] looks a lot like her hairstyle. Is Hare's hair a play on words?
