Today I want to talk about Hanae and her hair. Perhaps this is the wheel's way of pointing out Christmas is soon?
Hanae has thick purple hair that, when left natural, goes down to her upper calf, just after her knee. She ties her hair in twintails, using her own hair to tie the twintails in place. It's a surprising thing to see, considering how much is going on with the rest of her hair! Each twintail has bandages near the top of it, with the one on her left being pink band-aids, and the one on her right being white bandages. These bandages also show up on Hanae's left bang, with the band-aid being in a forward slash (/) form, and the bandage being in a backward slash (\). The band-aid is on top of the bandage. On her right are three white hairclips that seem to resemble stitches, or wrapping something with bandages. In the middle of Hanae's bangs, below her respectable hair vents, are two pills. The lower one is a white-and-blue pill, the blue on the right. The one above it is a red-and-white pill, the red on top. Above it all is her Remedial Knights hat, indicating that she's a doctor.
To quickly go over Hanae's outfit, it's very cute in how it presents doctoral implements, and the prevalence of white seems to be thematic of bandages. Her little bunny plush is held by a measuring tape being used as a pursestrap, she has a syringe with some strange pink fluid in it, but what's most interesting is the muted black outfit she wears, a very clear nod that she's a Trinity student.
Hanae's Christmas outfit, which I'm referring to as Santa Hanae hereon, is incredibly simpler in the hairstyle despite being almost the same thing. She's tied her twintails at her shoulders with mistletoe hairbands, since tying them up higher is impossible due to the hat she's wearing. On her left bang is a heart hair accessory with a pink hairclip underneath, and a white hairclip underneath that. Her hat, by the way, only has the reindeer antlers on it. There is no ball on it, though it's still a Santa hat, since she's Santa Hanae.
Cheer Hanae
cheers for students to get playable alts. has her hair in a significantly different style, with the twintails being a lot smaller. I forget what the exact hairstyle is called, to be honest. This time, her hair is tied with a blue ribbon that has a white band through the middle, and a pink heart to add some flair. In the middle of her bangs is a white X-hairpin, though it could also be two white hairpins that are intersecting one another. She wears a blue and white cap that's likely meant to be a stand-in for her normal Remedial Knights hat. Fun fact about this outfit, the thigh-highs have mismatched bands. The one on her right is two gold bands, the one on her left is a frilly piece with a blue string woven throughout and tied together with a ribbon.
The Red Cross comics have Hanae with three* (two but the accessories are different so it's technically three) additional hairstyles, so I'll go over them quickly.
In the first comic, Hanae has her hair in hairbuns, and on her left hair vent there's an X hairclip (or intersecting hairclips) and below it is another hairclip, all of which are white and could be mistaken for a face going "X\".
Her second hairstyle is very similar to her normal hairstyle, but she now wears what seems to be cotton balls near where her twintails are tied, suggesting that she's now wearing hairties. Outside of that, it seems to be the exact same hairstyle as her normal one, except that her left band-aids now has a lower red one, and her left bang bandages are two white band-aids. There are no pills here, likely because there was a point made to avoid encouraging drugs. The third* hairstyle is the same as the second, except her bang accessories have been entirely replaced with a white-and-red star 3D (it's hard to describe) hairclip where the two hairclips would be in height, and below them is a red hairclip. Outside of that, it's the same as her second comic hairstyle which is itself very similar to her normal hairstyle.
Hanae is very fashionable, and while I have no idea how she keeps those bandages in her twintails, she almost certainly has incredibly clean and happy hair. Why is the hair happy? She strikes me as the type of student who would tell her patients about happy, healthy medicine in the same vein a pediatric doctor would. Her hair likely has a similarly energizing scent to it, strawberries seeming like the choice for her. She'd definitely also have strawberry jam on her face from messily eating a sandwich and arrive to a hospital scaring the daylights out of whoever sees her.
