EDF6 PC and PS4/5 western release Anonymous 10/12/2023 (Thu) 16:22:23 Id: a424fb No. 895955
THIS SPRING NIGGERS
(35.24 KB 607x505 FiRXryDXkAEUjws.jpg)

>>895955 TO SAVE OUR MOTHER EARTH FROM ANY ALIEN ATTACK
>>895955 Hopefully no system requirement changes from 5 because i can't afford a new CPU right now.
>>895955 About god damn time
>>895960 FROM VICIOUS GIANT INSECTS THAT HAVE ONCE AGAIN COME BACK
This reminds me, did EDF5 weapon mods ever take off on PC? All I wanted was an NCSS Cannon Shot that was viable for Inferno.
>>895955 (checked) About damn time.
While it's nice to hear the pc version will come out at the same time as the others, Idk what to think about the voice actors. In that trailer they're the same as the random npc's from 5, but the trailer last month showed that sarge and his squad had shittier voice actors/lines.
>>896000 >but the trailer last month showed that sarge and his squad had shittier voice actors/lines Huh, wonder whats up with that?
>>895988 (czeched)
Is there proof it will come out on PC at the same time as the nogaems machines? For all we know, the Steam release could be 12/31/2024.
>>895968 WE'LL UNLEASH ALL OUR FORCES WE WON'T CUT THEM ANY SLACK >>896000 (checked) Yeah I don't know why they wouldn't use the voice cast they already had from the last 2 games, their delivery was perfect. Those new ones sound WAY too tongue-in-cheek and insincere
>>896019 They changed to a different localization publisher, the same that did World Brothers. I presume from the announcement that they won't add any additional random dialogue and keep the one from 5 but change the cast for 6 to make it cohesive with the rest of the plot.

Spritefall lady better still be here. She is my oshi
>>896150 Regretfully I never got too far into playing Air Raider in the last 2 games as I mostly play singleplayer. I'm hoping that the changes they made to the class in 6 change that, the focus on drones as a main weapon seem promising. I'm also looking forward to seeing how the fencer plays in this one, I think they toned down the recoil on some of the rapid fire weapons to make them more viable for the early game so it'll be nice to have more variety early on.

>>896000 >>896010 Here's a video comparison. I personally plan to play with the japanese voices regardless, like I did for EDF5 before, and there's the option of subtitles present in 6 too. I don't believe the english dub will be able to properly convey the top-tier acting of the Professor who is a recurring character throughout this game. >>896017 The fact the Steam page is already up with the ability to wishlist the game is already a sign that it could release alongside of the Playstation version. Maybe my memories are playing a trick, but I recall that the Steam page for EDF5 in 2019 came out a lot more abruptly and to immediately sell the game.
>>896224 That was the trailer for the asian release version which is done by some company named CLOUDED LEOPARD ENTERTAINMENT, although it's unlikely they made two english dubs maybe that CLP trailer was just demo or something like that. Because even the vibe of that trailer didn't feel EDF, while the D3 one is something you would expect from EDF.
>>896190 I play singleplayer and all I play is Air Raider I thought they nerfed him because you don't statt off with a vehicle and have to earn credits to keep the loop going, bu they just rape with the Gunship beacons. There is nothing more satisfying than jugging your timed request beacons and seeing entire waves of enemies being smitten by the will of God. They still suck ass in underground missions, EDF6 fixes that with the drones.
>>896019 The EDF deploys!
>>896236 >>896190 Solo AR is really fun, though a lot more strategy intensive and also needs good appropriate gear. >They still suck ass in underground missions Splendor anything, turrets and depth crawlers are plenty fun.
>>896345 The issue with Air Raider is that it's low range without vehicles or dedicated weapons for ramge like filling a weapon slot for a sniper limpet that's useless for anything but single targets. Splendor is only good for tight corridors and will be downright useless on the larger cave systems and with spawners. That range issue has locked me out of missions with one enemy remaining. Talking about my first playtrough on hard.
>>896382 Yeah early difficulties AR is kind of lacking especially if you don't grind a bit but once you have the better stuff it's much better, latter depth crawler in particular basically negate difficulty in anything underground so long as you can find a narrow corridor somewhere. Last enemy out of reach is a concern but you should have the laser / missiles / tank / mech to deal with that.
I've been playing solo long range Air Raider and I didn't know how fun that class could be until now. It's just a pure one man army dopamine pumping male power fantasy as long as you got the right setup. I did fuck up against the mother ship and my only weapon with enough rage to hit its weak spots was my sniper limpet but other than that its great.
>>896408 I'm glad you liked it anon, it takes some autism to get along with it, but once it clicks, it's so goddamn satisfying. >I did fuck up against the mother ship and my only weapon with enough rage to hit its weak spots was my sniper limpet You can literally get stuck on missions like those if you don't have a long range option.
>>896449 Eh it just took a while. I had to hide and run around in my slow ass mech to grab health packs and pop out for pop shots so I couldnt get deleted, it just took a while. I also got stuck on the moving fortresses leg when it was popping out of the ground for a bit, it was pretty cool. I didn't even know that could happen.

>>896232 Could be, but i guess we won't know until the game is out. That said, I still think the english dub won't be able to match the quality of the original JP voice-acting, especially when EDF6 goes further on the despair and hopelessness. Embedded vids from EDF5 are a good example >English dub: Soldier merely inconvenienced by the Aranea's thread >Japanese VA: Soldier literally shits his pants after being caught by the thread and desperately calls for help
The next installment of the Endless mod for EDF5 has a mission type with optional objectives and 10 possible endings. Ranging from 15 minutes required for completion, to almost 3 hours. https://youtu.be/89i5Q5wIzIw?feature=shared

If anyone is interested in playtesting the next version of the Endless mod, here's a mirror. All 111 missions are now available, with all-new finale (Eclipse Core) set in a virtual world, and an non-linear final chapter (Eclipse) with multiple endings. Endless Eclipse on nexusmods and moddb: https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce5/mods/62 https://www.moddb.com/mods/endless-mode We're days away from the final release of Endless Eclipse. I didn't anticipate to fix and change so much, but anyway we're finally done. All 111 missions are complete and playable in solo and local\online. They're all on the lenghty side and particularly those in the final chapter. which can last up to 3 hours if you wish to complete all side objectives. >Fighting alongside a faction of enemies against the others >Optional encounters >Capturing kaijus >Fighting EDF mechs >Achievements >Alternate endings based on difficulty and progression. >Tens of bosses in hours of mission There won't be something else like this anytime soon. I made this because I wanted to see more large scale battles between equal armies, in the likes of missions like Plains of Conflict, and the previous mods' mentality was just to spawn lots of enemies and mow them down with a super weapon. But the tools are only in assembly and it's frankly atrocious. Final mission: https://youtu.be/FJdDUV1FPK8

>>900222 (checked) >>900223 Bless you anon I couldn't believe they made 2025 back then, and seeing it on PC, with mods to boot, is still unreal to me. The industry has changed so fast.
>>900222 >>900223 Downloadan now. Boy as long as this is more EDF I just know it will be fun as fuck. Thank you dude I really appreciate this.
>>895988 Is this in english or no?
>>900332 If you have any suggestions, drop them and I'll see what I can do. I've spent the last week fixing spawn points and adding small features.

The autocollect mod now works online: at the end of an online mission, a chopper will spawn to airlift you and your crates. Offline is just like before: when the mission completes, all crates are picked up. Home https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce5/mods/53 Mirror https://drive.google.com/file/d/1quFbU8-1fo7wEzIAmCBfczGdgGK236b4/view?usp=sharing This feature will have to be imported into the Endless mod...
>>902676 Installing now for my Inferno playtrough.
>>902704 I played with some dudes with HP in the tens of thousands. How much did you fuckers have to grind for HP that high or did you dudes use mods?
>>902968 People literally put an elastic band on controllers, add in autofire for good measure and leave the game to cook for a whole night. Those using trainers to pick up all crates at the end for ten missions are the normal ones, by comparison. Just remember that when you get to the big numbers it's over, there won't be anymore reason to play. Enjoy completing the game on all the top difficulties and be done with it.
>>903019 >when you get the big numbers it's over To the hardcore Japanese EDF fans, that's when the fun just starts because they just set their armor to minimum and do inferno runs with a whopping 150-200 health max.

>>903804 Also available for 4.1.
How's EDF World Brothers? It's on sale and I'm considering getting it.
EDF is on sale! (Steam)
>>908030 It's not the greatest but fun nonetheless, don't go in expecting the mainline series
Didn't the devs cuck out and make the female classes less sexy looking and put everyone in generic fatigues?
>>908492 That's just the past parts
is theren an autoloot for 4.1? I know there are some scripts for cheatengine but I'm retarded
>>908492 Not really. You might have seen pictures of EDF6's wing diver in long pants. This is from the "bad ends" of the game where society collapsed and people are desperate to survive in small groups of a few hundred people with maybe 10 or so EDF members, half of which are conscripts that never touched a gun before that day. Nobody's going to waste the resources or manpower to make sexy wing diver skirts when they're surviving on canned beans. In contrast, the "good end" wing diver's outfit is sexy as fuck, and there's plenty of missions where she has her EDF5 outfit, too.
As someone who has never played this series before is it worth picking up 4.1 since it's on sale? Online looks like it's probably pretty dead and will likely be playing it solo for the most part. Is it still worth playing by yourself? Or should I skip it and just get 5 instead?
>>909627 If you want to get you're feet wet first you could emulate Monster Attack/EDF 1 and it's still the same exact gameplay when it comes to playing as the Ranger class. Each EDF game is just building on top of what the last one did, so EDF5 is simply gonna have more features then EDF4.1, essentially the break down of the main series is this. EDF1 is the standard Ranger Gameplay. EDF2 adds the Wingdiver class EDF3 was a remake of EDF1, it only has the Ranger. EDF4 has the Wingdiver again, and it adds the Air Raider and the Fencer classes. EDF5 adds equipment to further customize the classes, and collecting the same weapon more then once now has that Weapon level up it's stats a little.
>>909627 If playing solo 4.1 has the advantage of less mission with a lot of downtime but it also has missions that will be extremely hard once you try your hand at the higher difficulties.
>>909627 4 is a good place to start because it's the first game in the series that got an actual budget, and you might find it hard to get into 4 after getting used to the quality of life refinements added in 5 and 6.
It's kind of impressive that after so many years and so many games, Sandlot is still making vehicles that handle like complete dogshit. You'd think that they'd get better at it just from doing it so many times, but they just defy conventional wisdom.
>>909632 >>909659 >>909664 Ok, I think I will get 4.1 and see how it goes. Seems like a grindy game and might be hard to go back to 4.1 after playing 5. Thanks anons.
>>909627 Online is not dead, but there's no matchmaking.
>>898661 How did you create this mod anon?
>>910218 There's unpackers for the game's models and textures. But most importantly, missions can be converted into an assembly script, which is where most of my work went into. Try opening this file in notepad: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qC0IY5w9AR3czSmmNkHX4tDo6l0woc7D/view?usp=sharing If you want to try some stuff, there's an EDF modding discord where they can point out all the details. But make no mistake, until someone releases a real editor, it's all pain no gain.
I'm afraid we still can't have an autocollect mod for 4.1, as neither of the two methods working for EDF5 can be implemented backwards. Anyway, here's a few little mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce5/mods/74
>>909671 They have weight and take some skill to use, if every vehicle handled the same it would be boring.
>>914031 Not too much of an issue really, the autocollect script for CE is almost perfect, minus the fact that it tends to crash if used over long periods of time especially if collecting every crate and not just armor + weapons.
>>909671 Your options with helicopters are: - Keep circle strafing and only aim up and down, it's very good when it actually works - Move very little: lift off, hover, shoot all your ammo and abandon the vehicle. Like a glorified turret
(342.95 KB 1920x1080 BALAM.jpg)

https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce5/mods/75 Bargas replaced by Balams from 4.1.
Here's a trick for you people If you remove the voicebanks from the folders (just the banks, not the other ones, they're the 1 GB files) You automagically skip all in mission dialog at lightning speed which makes a lot of missions with tons of dialogs you 've already hear a thousand times go by way faster, dunno how it behaves in multi however.
>>915013 Speaking of audio mods, the current situation is still the same as years ago: audio archives, which are all pretty big files, can be edited; but you will have to include the whole thing every time, even if you change a single file. As for the rest, I appreciated that the EDF5 audio archive still contain the music files from 4.1 and 2017, so there's lots of that in the Endless mod.
>>914657 So much better I hated that Barga is barely modified as a construction vehicle post it's first appearance unlike Balam which is exactly that, a heavily modified construction vehicle.
>>915063 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usoGDsm8N08 Barga heard you were talking shit.
>>915168 I cannot fucking wait for EDF6 on PC Except the part where I'll likely need an upgrade
I've been working on a hybrid class, giving Air Raider toys to the Ranger. At the moment I'm fixing the handling of helicopters, will be done in a couple days tops.
(1.37 MB 4216x3928 StormRaiderClass.jpg)

I'm playtesting that new hybrid class. Storm Rider, a modified Ranger with elements of Air Raider. You can check it out here: https://pomf2.lain.la/f/94kfw8.7z
>>921901 bless you anon
>>921901 I'd replace snipers with the missiles tree, otherwise you get some seriously broken combos that involve Turrets + Nix + Sniper
>>921913 >>921901 Also >Storm rider >Rider >no bikes
>>921913 Snipers and ranger weapons have double reload time, if that's any help. I wish I could give a malus to mechs, like less power and higher costs*. At the moment, I can only have less models of Nyx: like 10 instead of 20, or only the bad ones. *In the beginning they actually had maluses, but it turns out that playing with a vanilla player might cause both to disconnect. That's a big risk, having people running around wrecking servers, so I'm playing it safe.
>>921916 Basically the issue here is you can walk in most maps with a balanced sniper for alpha strikes to get vehicle points, a set of turret to stall and a Nix to actually do damage and once you have one out (especially the Nix Assault) it's GG for most missions. Maybe higher point costs? or lower starting points You still might wanna have missiles or remove the radar equipment though, I don't think they work with vehicles and you don't have any the upper tier Naegling anyways so outside of lower difficulty you're not gonna be using that.
>>921917 I can do that, but it's unsafe territory when brought online to vanilla servers. Like those people who make the server lobby crash, because they're playing modded missions beyond mission 111. So I think we're left with having less Nyx models available to this class: or less snipers, less turrets etc. I kinda wanted to have no explosive weapons on the Ranger side of things, especially with lock on. To push the mortars, airstrikes and the grenades on the vehicle button.
>>921918 Yeah but then you might also be removing too much viable option for Inferno, because looking at it once you remove the Nix and Turrets above ground has like a couple builds I'd say are truly good Snipers I don't think are an issue by themselves especially if nerfed but they do have an impact on your ability to get a vehicle out on the field because the places where AR had to rely on satellites / Spritefall / Missiles / Limpets snipers call-ins you can just pop the thing and not have to think bout it more than that and those thins tend to be big targets worth a bunch of points. Turrets as well alone are mostly fine, maybe the ZE Blaster is a bit over the curve but nothing too dramatic Nixes, should be fine besides the Assault, the Assault is just busted good and if you have that anything not involving flyers or underground is cake. Looking at it more it might also be very strong underground (though not WD strong so maybe it's perfectly fine)
>>921922 Would moving the Nyx mechs to weapon slot 1 or 2 solve anything? Not that I like the idea particularly, I'm just searching for alternatives.
>>921926 How about turrets on slot 3?
(146.94 KB 355x883 Removable.jpg)

>>921922 >Yeah but then you might also be removing too much viable option for Inferno Pic related, this is a possible scenario (red ones are gone). Is it better? >>921929 They don't work correctly in the vehicle slot, they can be placed but not activated later. Here's 2 somewhat ugly solutions. >solution 1 I double the points required for the Nyx, then I make it impossible for modded players and vanilla to play together, so they can't meet and crash. >solution 2 I edit the points, you can still play on vanila servers, but it also affects your Air Raider (and anyone else who has the mod). I'm trying to circumvent this, but it seems impossible.
>>921936 >Pic related, this is a possible scenario (red ones are gone). Is it better? Almost no specialized ones sounds okay, I would keep Saber just for how unpractical it is to actually use (no turn speed so can't make use of the penetration and can only target big things from afar reliably, sorta like a mech Epsilon Railgun). Also the C3 should be fine to stay if the ZC and C2 are in. >They don't work correctly in the vehicle slot, they can be placed but not activated later. Here's 2 somewhat ugly solutions. Yeah removing a few Nix might be better.
>>921917 >you don't have any the upper tier Naegling All naeglings are in "ground vehicles", they go up to level 88. They're part of the theme that this class has few and weird lock-on weapons (like robot bombs and the new blast rifle).
>>921949 The image only showed up to level 65.
(1002.83 KB 218x228 retarded.gif)

>>921952 All right, gonna fix Nyx selection and image.
(1.41 MB 4216x3835 Class Overview.jpg)

Updated the Storm Rider with fewer Nyx. I left out Saber to further differentiate from Air Raider, I just hope it doesn't kneecap people attempting DLC2, else it would be necessary to get back Assault. Download: https://pomf2.lain.la/f/dfr0ofrm.7z

>>921967 > I just hope it doesn't kneecap people attempting DLC2 I don't really see any point that would really stick badly, you do have M10 Slade + Phobos Z Plan 4 + ZE Blaster for when you're out of creativity
These are just afterthoughts made during tests: >Heavy Ranger 3 weapons, no support slot https://pomf2.lain.la/f/duonj34t.7z >Heavy Raider 4 weapons, no support slot https://pomf2.lain.la/f/azf4w16l.7z
(202.33 KB 1280x713 flame.jpg)

I'm looking into giving Wing Diver a few weapons from the other classes. But it will be less good than the Storm Rider, because others would still see you use WD weapons most of the time. But what would the concept be, behind a WD subclass? A flying ranger as much as possible? I've seen very different things that look cool in the air: satellite shots, flamethrowers, flying stag beetle bombs.
>>922332 Stampede and missiles spam also would sound really cool The ability to erase swarms from the air without running out of energy ever is quite an interesting prospect.
>>922450 Possible scenarios for Wing Diver, considering the hardcoded limitations that stab me in the back every fucking time. We're talking about giving most Ranger weapons (and a few Air Raider's) to Wing Diver, >scenario 1 3 weapon slots, default flight, weapons do not consume energy. I think this is too easy, because the default flight can last a very long time if you're not reloading energy weapons. You'd be out of enemy reach 99% of the time. >scenario 2 3 weapon slots, default flight, weapons consume energy. This would be probably the most normal outcome, but it's doing nothing new or special. >scenario 3 2 weapon slots, way less flight duration, weapons do not consume energy. It would play the closest to a flying Ranger, but having to fly ess does affect part of the enjoyment. >scenario 4 >the mercenary wing diver 3 weapon slots, slot 1 has only a few weapons that do not consume energy (shotguns, flamethrowers, mines, c4). Slot 2 has the rest of the weapons... but they cost air raider points to reload. Not many, just a few kills, but it would make necessary to juggle between the free weapons and the paid ones. This kind of micromanagement can replace the handling of wing energy adequately, but also take away the "going all out" fun of shooting a hundred misslies from the air.
>>922554 Assuming it's possible, how about scenario 3 but instead of limiting flight times you restrict to energy core that have some quirks in regards to flight? Shit like mighty core would be entirely too much as boosting would get you nearly unlimited flight but other cores have much less desirable flight characteristics / flight time / boost behaviors
>>922617 >>922554 Also just to be sure, would ranger weapon be reloading in the inactive slots or not?
>>922617 I'm actually taking the code for 'lowered flight time' from those cores, in practice what's happening is that flying costs +50% energy. Not sure if it will be the right choice, we'll see. >>922618 >Also just to be sure, would ranger weapon be reloading in the inactive slots or not? Not at the moment, scenario 3 is pretty much only a Ranger with a jetpack. It can be added, however.
>>922667 >Not at the moment, scenario 3 is pretty much only a Ranger with a jetpack. It can be added, however. On one hand it would be cool on the other it definitely has OPness potential, like say having a stampede / goliath / fang on perma reload is definitely very strong in some scenarios Option 4 sounds better but might have an even stronger OPness potential depending on what you can charge with points and whether ammo magically pops up already loaded or you have to both earn the points and reload (again looking at the stampede / goliath / fang) If you're going option 4 I'd hope you'd consider missiles on the non reload slot, their primary strength is being able to have a buffer of damage in the air while you're doing something else, if you don't have that they're kind of meh especially if they have to compete with the Ghost Chaser. Also are Ranger weapons affected by that WD quirk that when you're in the air and falling some of your projectiles weapons shoot below where you're aiming as well?
>>922670 Apparently, melee that reloads with points was already done in Zangeki no Reginlev. The OP potential of the points idea comes from the fact that weapons may just reload instantly, after shooting the last rocket or because of your teammates. Anyway it will be the last thing I try. Ranger weapon don't spawn downward when you fly, however lock on missiles always had the bad habit of exploding on the ground if you jumped while shooting. And you can see that inertia happening during flight, hopefully they can't hit you.
This is a Wing Diver with Ranger weapons: - 2 weapons slots, 1 core - Weapons do not require energy - Flying requires double energy Honestly I'm not feeling it, but it's a necessary stepping stone to produce something more. If you try it, tell me what you think about balancing no energy weapons with double energy flight. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZC015FSLfJ4l6Paca2oOy_55p8D4nzjc/view?usp=sharing
>>922773 >hopefully they can't hit you. They can't >If you try it, tell me what you think about balancing no energy weapons with double energy flight The flying balance should be mostly fine, it's already constraining enough with just 2x usage, but looking at how it plays i can see why devs went with the way WD weapons behave, having no energy usage on weapon or even weapons that only use energy on reloads is just gonna be strong if you also have boosting. Also smaller issue is weapon levels are fucked up and some weapons can't seem to max out not a big in some cases but a much worse one in others (higher end missiles are just nerfed to shit with that).
>>923077 >weapon levels are fucked up I didn't notice, that's a whole new can of worms. Long story short, it can't be fixed unless I also modify Ranger. If I don't, we'll just pretend it's a nerf to balance the class (together with the reduced flight time). More technically, what's happening is that I cloned some weapons from Ranger to Wing Diver. And they're taking their levels from the original Wing Diver ones, there's no helping it. But I know a sneaky way to fix this. The issue is that it can only work in the current state of things: not if I were to add energy or points usage to the weapons (like in the other scenarios). Unless... I actually meant to edit Ranger as well as Wing Diver together. It may be fun to have a Ranger using wing weapons (no energy tho) and a Wing Diver using ranger weapons. Tentative name: Foehammer and Valkyrie, a two class coop mod.
>>923156 >The issue is that it can only work in the current state of things: not if I were to add energy or points usage to the weapons (like in the other scenarios) I assume mixing up the two isn't possible either (aka some weapons have fixed levelling but no energy usage others have energy usage but borked levels) Honestly looking at it a bit more the real strong thing this class has is VM Jet Core + anything, you basically have Fencer fastbuild (Jump boost anything + twinspear M5 + G cells) speed on demand at all times with no practical limit and if you add the Blazer to that it just becomes ludicrously good as you can just go to a corner and aggro everything and just run to another corner with no issue once things get remotely close, other cores even flight speed and boost ones do go fast but nowhere near fast enough to turn this into something practical.
>>923192 Modding this is a snakepit, I will just consider the weapon levels glitch\nerf a necessary evil and keep going. I'll be porting WD weapons to Ranger.
A Ranger using the WD's energy weapons lacks the self-replenishing energy of the latter, it's something hardcoded. You can either remove the energy requirements altogether, or use the third weapon slot to give the Ranger a plasma changer: the device that's thrown on the ground and refills energy. I think it would be interesting to have both possibilities. All weapon types get subtypes that are energy, and not energy::like in medium range kinetic weapons, the mag blasters series has it and the phalanx series doesn't. In the third slot, you can then opt to have either a passive speed boost as usual with the Ranger, or a plasma charger if you plan on carrying energy weapons, or a vehicle.
>>924511 I think both would be best as well, some weapons are just not good enough with a Ranger mobility to be worth nerfing, but you can't just have something like the Raijin Limit be free to fire. Only issue with Ranger using WD stuff is a good chunk is just hazardous to fire from the ground.
(24.22 KB 254x341 fully_charged.jpg)

>>924554 Just a slight change, let's have 3 weapon slots and you can decide whichever holds a regular weapon, an energy weapon or a plasma charger. So you can have 3 plasma chargers, pic related. To keep in line with the vanilla game, regular weapons get longer reload times (nothing extraordinary) while energy weapons get shorter reloads and larger magazines (to justify all the ballbusting with the chargers).
(289.27 KB 1024x1026 Sorcerer.png)

(874.28 KB 1024x1026 Valkyrie.png)

>>924554 As for the next matter, the plan is to bundle the Wing Diver with ranger weapons with a few modifications (Valkyrie class) and the Ranger with energy weapons (Sorcerer class). As for the modifications, see if you like the idea: >3 weapon slots >100% flight duration instead of the current nerfed 50% This is unavoidable, if 3 weapons are used. However, it does allow for different possibilities. >weapon slot 1 has a limited selection consisting of: shotguns, flamethrowers, hand grenades, mines, c4 As a mixture of weapons that require you to move (fly) around. >weapon slot 2 and 3 are rebranded "wing 1" and "wing 2" weapons If a fencer is a man sized mech, this wing diver is a bomber plane. >slot 2 and 3 hold pretty much all other ranger weapons >but they have 3X ammo and they cost credits The concept is that when you have enough credits, you're a living airstrike and are about to float for a minute: gunning or bombing the shit out of everything.
>>924580 >>but they have 3X ammo and they cost credits 3x ammo is cool but, is there any way you can have an explosion radius modifier?
>>924582 Should be possible.

The beta for the 2 new classes is ready. The tl;dr is that Ranger and Wing Diver swapped their weapons, and I selected what proved fun and original. I made 2 classes at once so that COOP mates could both have some fun, trying something new. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q6CAPmDjY3uegGo-m8ZgsoC1uxNB_TQh/view?usp=drive_link The STRIDER is a special unit of Rangers using energy weapons, whose core mechanic is that energy is not recovered automatically (aka in the jetpack) but is fully manual. - 2 Weapons, 1 Generator (summoned with the Summon Vehicle button) - Generators will recharge your energy for a time, then enter a short cooldown phase - There's two main types of generators: Plasma Chargers (best performance) and Plasma Batteries (best duration, can be attached to players) - The best part is that Generators can be stacked, so you can play around with energy output at the price of entering the cooldown phase sooner Both classes use a mix of imported, repurposed or completely new weapons: particularly, one type to be used in COOP with the other class. The Strider's COOP weapon is the Positron Rifle, which requires laser guide beacons to lock onto targets (either from an Air Raider or a Valkyrie). The VALKYRIE is a squadron of Wing Divers using standard weapons with an emphasis on explosives, intended to be flying vehicles just like a Fencer is its own man-shaped vehicle. - 3 Weapons, each with its own loadout (like customizing your plane) >Arms Loadout Shotguns, Sniper, Flamethrowers (total of 11), Explosives (grenades, c4, mines) >Wing Loadout Flamethrowers, Explosives, Chainguns (assault rifles with more ammo, less performance), Railguns (semiauto blazers, COOP weapon), Rockets, Missiles, Grenade Launchers, Limpet Splendors (total of 12), Laser Guide Beacons >Gear Loadout Rockets, Missiles, Grenade Launchers, Limpet Splendors, Laser Guide Beacons, Reversers (all spray, working on self too), Request Air Support (mortars called with a gun, uses credits), Request Missiles (same as Air Raider's, some use credits) What's different about these, is that some weapons are very different in the air: i.e. grenades have never been more fun, now that you can simply tap and release them as you hover above the enemies. Overall, I tried to move away from the Ranger weapons' all generic purpose, and pushed specific roles for each loadout. As already mentioned, the Valkyrie's COOP weapon is a fast shooting railgun that consumes way too much energy to fly with, unless you have a Strider to play with.

I updated\buffed the Strider class, aka the Ranger using the Wing Diver's energy weapons. Since online tests made it abundantly clear that fighting on foot makes her weapon's gimmicks snowball into giant issues (i.e. weapon stats going down as the magazine empties). I've also added some oomph in general, with plasma grenades (a variant of the Gleipnir), two series of satellites strikes (one is the Rule of God), as well as re-implementing the Laser Chainsaws from 4.1 and more cosmetic changes. >>931570 I've kept tuning up the Strider, particularly adding new weapons to fill the gaps with the roles he struggled most with (short range and mobility). Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q6CAPmDjY3uegGo-m8ZgsoC1uxNB_TQh/view?usp=sharing Changelog: >New generator type: the Plasma Streamer Easy to use and with little micromanagement, but also low in output. >New weapon type: the Laser Wire This weapon shoots thin laser threads that damage enemies. >New weapon type: the Lightning Glaive This weapon shoots projectiles just like the Fencer's Dynamo Blades. >New weapon type: the Ion Mirror This energy shield repels enemy projectiles back to the sender. >New weapon type: the Nova Grenades An area denial weapon on a short cooldown, perfect for emergencies. >New weapon type: the Laser Chainsaw This vertical rapier is best used against flying enemies and giant humanoids. >New weapon type: the Jormungandr Coil and the Jormungandr Rim Respectively a satellite shot and an airstrike. >Doubled the number of Grit Guns, Stardust Cannons, Ghost Chasers and Psiblades available. >Redesigned the Positron Blaster series It's a much more agile gun now. Have someone shoot a laser guide beacon in an area with enemies, then face that general direction and aim at the enemies.

I added everything I could add to my Strider & Valkyrie classes, now I'll just wait to see if any bugs surface, and release it for good. >>935377 On top of what was added last time (that energy shield is fun to use), the new features are: >strider energy bikes The Strider gets 8 bikes: they're summoned with energy, their weapons are reloaded with energy. They occupy one of your 2 weapon slots, not the accessory slot (where the generator is) so they require a certain commitment to actually use them. Overall, they are supposed to give more mobility to a very defensive class. Most importantly, their handling is vastly improved from vanilla. >strider ice weapons The Strider gets 13 ice based weapons, split into two categories. The first is a homing mirage that sends shards of ice everywhere, which don't deal huge damage but can penetrate and stun large hordes of enemies to give you some breathing room. The second is a freezing ray that applies a DOT, which keeps dealing damage to a single target for several minutes. It's intended to be used against deirois or pylons, so you can focus on secondary threats while the main targets goes slowly down. >strider ghost chasers 6 of them, because why not. >valkyrie roombas While not strictly necessary, I spent some time adding some fun weapons to the class. She's already strong plenty, this way you can use some oddly specialized weapons and enjoy when they wreck their specific niche. In particular, there's a particular new kind of roomba that creates aftershocks on the ground, and drills into enemies like Turok 2's cerebral bore. >valkyrie handguns More importantly, the valkyrie gets 15 new handguns split in 2 categories: semiautos and semiautos with delayed explosion. They look cool, even if they don't deal top damage, and are nothing but a shrunk version of certain ARs. >valkyrie acid guns Again 15 acid guns, of various types: spitters, shotguns, gas clouds, acid walls etc. Pretty strong if you manage to hit the enemy, so probably better used at point blank range. Another weapon that looks cool during flight. Other than this, lots and lots of finetuning and bugfixes. Earth Defense Force 6 is currently up for pre-orders on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/2291060/EARTH_DEFENSE_FORCE_6/ Worth to point out that the vtuber decoys bonus differs between the Asian packaging (Shirakami Fubuki, Ookami Mio and Nakiri Ayame) and the Western one (Takanashi Kiara, Gawr Gura and IRyS). https://steamdb.info/sub/1081552/apps/ https://steamdb.info/sub/1081551/apps/ >Including the DLC packs, the number of missions levels is the highest seen so far in the franchise, which is over 200 >EDF6 has the largest gallery of enemies in the serie, excluding the color variations, which is designed to keep the player from getting bored. >Officially suports 4K resolution >Subtitles are available (can be disabled) >Crates now glow >Damage numbers are added but can be altered (next to the weapon UI, around the hit zone or target enemy, and for each shot or the total inflicted damage). They can be disabled anytime in the settings >Four different camera positions >All classes can climb up ledges and over obstacles, but with different amount of frames for each class (45 frames for Ranger and Air Raider, 67 frames for Wing Diver, 87 for Fencer). Wing Diver uses 5% of the energy bar when climbing (she still can climb even with zero EN left) >NPCs can also climb which make them less likely to get stuck and not follow you >Shots from weapons that generate explosive blasts now pass through NPCs, reducing the likehood of unexpected self-destructions >Decoys and barriers can be attached to NPCs >Grenade-type weapons (Mortars, Grenade launchers, Grenades) show an aiming laser and their blast radius >Enemy projectiles such as the retarius/arachena's web no longer go through obstacles and terrains >Weapons are highlighted red if they're made unavailable for a mission (such as a cave level) or yellow if their level/strength is presumably too high for the current difficulty or mission level >Certain vehicles, like helicopters and tanks, can be called immediately upon the start of a mission >Helicopters can fly immediately upon riding them >While side-rolling as Ranger or Air Raider, you are no longer affected by a speed reduction when hit >Cosmonauts equipped with laser snipers no longer blind your entire screen >UI gets hidden whenever the camera zooms at certain events >Character models have facial expressions and their mouth can now moves Ranger: >Ranger can dash mid-air when falling >A slot equipment called "backpack" is dedicated for grenades, turrets (that he stole from Air Raider) and stationary remote explosives (like CA and Impulse). They auto-reload after their ammo is depleted. >Ranger deploys sentries faster than Air Raider did previously in 5, and they start to fire automatically. Obviously, Ranger can only carry one type of sentries. >Sentries have a much reloading time window (29.4 sec -> 44.1 sec), FZ-GUN (flamethrower) ammunition has been halved, the rotation speed and power have both been increased significantly for ZE Blaster (laser sentry) but its reload time suffers in result (29.4 sec -> 88.1 sec) >The DNG grenade throwing animation can be cancelled with dash or switching weapons. >Shotguns can retain the remaining ammo when reloading, which proportionally decreases the initial reload time >Blazer-type weapons (with reloading) are available in the base game, both in assault rifle and shotgun formats. Have an extra effect on enemy shields (x1.5 damage) >MXR Sirius assault rifles all have double the power with slightly better accuracy >All Orchid rifles can now penetrate targets, with a better piercing distance the higher level rank is. >Minion Buster weapons have generally better bullet speed, range and damage in exchange of accuracy down. Explosive bullets no longer attach to NPCs (same for the Buster Shot shotgun). >Slightly decreased accuracy for G&M rifles, A25 and above models have better range and bullet speed >Slaughter and Moonsoon shotguns have higher bullet speed, Breacher shotguns have increased bullet speed and range. >Slugshot shotguns have significantly increased range but the bullets now fall due to air resistance. >All sniper rifles deal extra damage to enemy shields. >Range is greatly increased for KFF sniper rifles, increased damage for KFF70. >Lyzander weapons have double the range and a higher damage. >Range doubled for Ptarmigan weapons >Hornet rocket cannons have damage and the blast radius increased but with a longer reloading time >Significant damage and blast range increase for Leopard Guided Rocket weapons >Increased range for Penetrator weapons, Penetrator F also has increased damage
[Expand Post]>Damage of Air Tortoise weapons doubled. Not effective against enemy shields (x0.2 damage) >FORK missile launchers have decreased damage but their lock-on distance is doubled and a shorter reload time >Grenade Launcher UM weapons generally were granted a higher rate of fire but a lower accuracy and blast radius >Blast radius decreased for Stampede weapons >Volatile Napalm weapons were granted more ammo, a higher ROF, damage and bullet speed in exchange of a lower accuracy >Flame Geyser weapons have their accuracy lowered but the reload time has been massively reduced >Increased damage and extended flame duration for flamethrower weapons at the cost of lower ammo. Burner is no longer a joke weapon with its now larger range >Ranger's bike no longer takes damage, or automatically explodes if you attached explosives on it, when colliding with an obstacle. >Ranger gets access to three new vehicle type: Kevlar (Anti-Aircraft tank), Heron (Extremely mobile and strong helicopter but high request cost and rather low on fuel), Varias (Tank with high velocity shells). Wing Diver: >Boost Dash takes up x1.5 more energy (it gets worse with a Big Core-type where the increase goes up to x4.5) >Like Ranger, any non-charging energy weapon can retain the remaining ammo when reloading, thus requiring less energy in return >A third slot similar to Ranger is dedicated for swords, plasma shields, grenades and other special weapons such as Heaven's Gate. They don't use the plasma energy reserve whatsoever (meaning they don't benefit of any plasma core bonus), they auto-reload and can be used without interrupting a (rapier, etc) weapon charge. >Rapier weapons have increased damage but double the EN consumption >Increased damage for Phalanx M4 and above, higher EN consumption for Phalanx W2 and below. >All middle-range weapons have a [mid-fill] category and special effects towards shields (x2.0 damage). Pulse Weapons have Shield effect x1.5. Long-range laser weapons have Shield Effect x2.0. >Higher damage for Spine Blaster, Lighting Bow and Bolt Shooter weapons >Bullet Speed and range doubled, with slightly decreased accuracy, for Raijin weapons >The accuracy of Plasma cannon weapons has been slightly decreased >Mirage homing weapons have their damage and EN consumption doubled >Geist homing weapons dramatically use a lot more energy than they should be (Geist G consumes 5 times more for instance)

>>984943 (cont.) Air Raider: >Air Raider has a faster default speed than Ranger (Air Raider can walk a distance of 1 km within 137.5 seconds, Ranger does it in 165 seconds) >The class is significantly different as he gets to equip drones who either acts like turrets or airstrikes (while not as destructive as the actual airtstrikes, these drones can be used in underground missions which used to be the bane of AR). They attack when placing a marker on an enemy. >There are two types of drones: one that begins reloading when all the ammunition is used up, and another that can be used again as soon as the drone returns to the player. >Air Raider also has a new utility slot for all support equipment such as poles (attack, defense, health, plasma), roombas, shield screens, decoys and automatic drones. Therefore, you cannot carry more than one support device. >Long button press to reload any installed support equipment on the field. However, decoys can no longer be reloaded at will and the AR's animation when placing decoys has been legnthened. >Assist guns (Life, Plasma, Attack, Defense) are removed from the AR's inventory >The reloading time for all Gunship calls from 5 has been doubled >Increased the request cost for all Bombing calls - Vesta x1.33 / Gun & Bombers x2 / and finally the requirement for the (in)famous Phobos Z Plan 4 has been tripled. Only the cost for Vesta E Plan 2 and KM6 Plan 18 remains unchanged. >The laser range for all missile and laser weapons (Lionic, Bulge Laser, Spritefall, etc.) has been increased >Damage of the Bulger Laser increased by x1.5 but reload time is doubled however >For all Limpet Guns except the "Shot" type, the accuracy has been decreased >For all Limpet Guns except the "Sniper" type, the bullet speed has been increased >Depth Crawler appears immediately upon call even when not underground, and no longer self-destructs when going underwater. The mounted gatling gun immediately fire but takes the aformentioned time to reach ROF. >Tank vehicles (except Titan) at lvl 50+ can have a 100% request gauge at the start of a mission >Rate of fire for Blacker-type tanks has been increased except the low-level ones >Titan tanks have their armor increased by x1.8, and the strength of the main and secondary weapons have been doubled. However, the Titan's ability to traverse difficult terrain has been literally nullified (unintended bug?). >The initial request gauge for Combat Frames at a start of a mission has been lowered >Barga request cost is doubled. Barga can destroy Teleportation Anchors by punching them, and now collides with large-sized enemies. Fencer: >Two jump boosts and two thrust dashes are enabled by default, but the distance given by the jump thrust propulsion has been lowered >A new type of exoskeleton equipment has been added, by exchanging the thrust dashes into a certain amount of jump boosts and vice-versa >The shield durability increase from the Protection Armor bonus has been reduced >The recoil reduction rate from the Muzzler Stabilizer bonus was decreased on low-level models >The walking speed bonus from the Leg Exoskeleton has been increased. It is possible, for some reason, to combine the walking speed bonuses of certain exoskeleton upgrades, up to +600%. >The weight effect and recoil is now completely nullified on the Bombardment Exoskeleton >Vibro Roller weapons have higher damage alongside of an increased reload time >Dynamo Blade weapons have their damage increased by x1.5 with an additional effect on shields >You can no longer perform continuous automatic attacks when holding down the button for the Blast Twin Spear weapons >Electric katanas are new melee weapons with piercing effects and extra effectiveness on shields >Fencer's gatling guns immediately fire but will take the aforementioned time in the stats to fully reach ROF >FG and UT Gatlings have better accuracy and bullet speed. Base damage is reduced for FG9/UT2 and above models however their ammunition and rate of fire (as well as the DPS) are all increased. >The accuracy of Flame Revolver weapons went from B to B+ >More ammo for Disruptor weapons >Accuracy down for Canister guns >Gallic Heavy Cannons can now destroy buildings and their bullet speed is higher >FH Mortars have lower accuracy but increased rate of fire, explosion range and bullet speed. Damage down on FH22 model and lower. >FH Heavy Mortars also have their accuracy decreased but the explosion range has been expanded >Arcane 6-missiles have a longer locking distance and a shorter locking time >>971701 It's the sequel, World Brothers 2
>>984943 >>984944 Is Air Raider still the most OP class bar none?
(143.71 KB 654x900 IMG_2763.jpg)

>>984946 Air Raider has a slower growth rate at the start considering the first few levels in the devastated world timeline prevents you from using airstrikes, which also were all inflicted higher costs and reloading time windows to prevent the spam back in 5. He remains largely playable solo (far from the support-class he was in 4.1) and has been given tools to handle cave levels a lot more easily too. It's Ranger who became an absolute killing machine on the other hand, between the backpack (that allows grenades and sentries in addition of the two main weapons) and all the arsenal buffs he was granted. An important point I forgot to mention is that both the Offline and Online modes share the campaign progress (and the completion rate as well), as there are no longer exclusive mission levels tied to either mode like it was the case in 4.1 and 5. A few missions in 6 can add additional enemy waves in Online though.
>>984949 Sounds like the game will be even better on PC then.

>Hololive girl gets early access to EDF6 >watch to see how the localization went >English voice acting is dog shit and generally phoned in >translation itself is a B- as it retains the meaning and no pozz was detected in what was shown, but it tends to use "textbook English" rather than natural, spoken English and misses important nuance at times, particularly in the way certain characters talk It could have been a lot worse on the translation front, but there's no way it could possibly have gone any worse on the voice acting front. I knew they'd never be able to find an English VA who could match Hiroki Touchi's performance as the Brofessor, but the quality of the voice work for EVERY character was worse than my lowest expectations. The VAs simply didn't give two shits about the project and had zero work ethic. This game's localization is a textbook example of why companies should just save themselves a lot of money (and possible entitled, English VA drama) by not bothering with an English dub and just do Japanese with subtitles.
>>991447 The issue is that it'd be messy to do subtitles for the NPC lines as the game doesn't even have a way to handle those at all.

>>991447 >>translation itself is a B- as it retains the meaning and no pozz was detected in what was shown, but it tends to use "textbook English" rather than natural, spoken English and misses important nuance at times, particularly in the way certain characters talk From the few videos I've seen it seems to be the case. One notable case is how they did a direct phonetical transliteration of クルル (a new Primer alien) albeit it's not accurate as it should actually be read as "Kululu", an ancient mythical Mesopotamian creature created by the goddess of the primordial sea, Tamiat. The mistake gets obvious when the HQ commander is clearly not pleased the Intelligence department is using mythology references (as it will spread fear amongst the troops), but that doesn't stop the other new alien enemies to be named after sea-related mythologies too.
>>991447 >English voice acting is dog shit and generally phoned in >The VAs simply didn't give two shits about the project and had zero work ethic. This really is my biggest letdown with the game so far. It really sucks that they couldn't get the same VAs that they had for the last two games for whatever reason, the dub being so sincere combined with the intentionally cheesy B-movie dialogue is a big staple of the series here in the west and it's sad to see it gone with this game. They must have known too, since this is the first game they decided to give us Jap VA+subtitles.

>>993736 Yeah, this is what you get when you pander to the westoid audience.
>>993784 >>993785 I'm someone who pre-ordered EDF6 last month and been playing the game solo so I'm way past the point of refund with my current playtime (8 hours so far). Which is really unfortunate because the game in itself is really great (with the JP voices on). It fixes the pacing issue I had with 5 being pretty slow to open up, while 6 already throw you a Mother Monster, wasps, red ants, veteran frogs in the first eight missions. And it doesn't pull its punches on Hard. Again it's a game that I'm way too emotionally invested while I've waited for two full years to consider a refund, although I can encourage others to give the middle finger to D3 Publisher. I left a negative review at least but it's really depressing to see some english-speaking Steam users acting like apologists. I sincerely hope D3 will bend the knee to the negative pressure and revert EOS being mandatory to the PC port. >>993842 Epic Online Service is required even for the game to launch as it depends on specific files from the client, so yeah you cannot uninstall it without breaking the game.
>>993857 >crossplay between PC and Playstation Ha, it's crossplay between steam and EGS.
>>993857 Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't even think there IS crossplay between PC/PS4/PS5. The EOS spyware and the EGS account is simply so there can be crossplay between PS4-5. The game's not on EGS, and PC players can't play with console players so there effectively is no crossplay on PC, this is just a holdover from the console version that they were too lazy to change for some reason. >>993878 Honestly I would guess that western PC players are primarily, if not overwhelmingly, the only ones complaining about this.
>>993888 >Honestly I would guess that western PC players are primarily, if not overwhelmingly, the only ones complaining about this. Nah, just look at the reviews, there's more than a couple JP players complaining about EGS.

>>993903 >IGG Aren't these the guys that got caught putting malware in their releases? Good thing I read the whole thread before downloading. Also, fuck this whole situation. I tainted my computer by putting Steam on it for the explicit purpose of being able to play EDF6 online. What a fucking retarded decision on the publisher's part. Guess it's back to solo play only on the console version for me.
>>993894 I don't even understand this kind of mentality. People have a legitimate reason to be pissed off at the way D3 Publisher handled the PC port. In my case, I can't ultimately bring myself to refund the title for reasons I mentioned above, and I've been playing it on the Steam Deck since then as I couldn't trust EOS installed on my desktop (I've been told it's different from the actual EGS client but I'm not pushing my luck). This kind of shit may as well as tell me to stay a full console pleb so I can play my nippon games the simple way and without compromising my computer & personal data, but a Nintendo port of EDF6 won't happen before 2027 or 2028.
So, what are the alternatives? There's so many goddamn games out there that have this shit baked in that it took a small Japanese developer fucking the launch of their niche title to make me realize how prolific this shit is. However, I think it's important to note that EDF6 does not require any external EGS launcher and the account needed for multiplayer is just a dummy account that's created with, seemingly, nothing more than your birth date. In any case, it's nice to see that they've actually acknowledged people's problems with being forced to install random background processes that they didn't consent to and it remains to be seen if they'll go through the trouble of removing the requirement. Luckily I've been playing the game through my Wangblows 10 VM so I don't care what data they could collect from that, but still I'm a hardcore EDF addict so I'm more susceptible to allowing this type of bullshit than most maybe. In any case I hope that they actually take the time to remove this bullshit and just implement steamplay for multiplayer like the last 2 games.
>>994227 I haven't tried out Air Raider yet, but Ranger's backpack slot is a major improvement. However Fencer's dashes/boosts feel more sluggish to initiate than in 5, I think they're trying to tone down his potential speed, at least from what I've played so far. >>994230 >My only guess is that Sandlot is mentally retarded I think this is the easiest explanation. There is NO crossplay on PC, not even with that region's EGS version I'm pretty sure, I have a theory that it's only listed there in limited regions as a nigger rigged solution to get multiplayer working on PC.

>>994467 >gallic cannon now levels buildings You're damn right it does!
>>994467 I just got the katana, holy shit this thing is powerful. Completely shreds through ants, spiders, frogs. I was a little surprised that it came with a jump booster instead of a dash, but I'm pairing it with a spine driver for big damage while the katana reloads.
>>994942 >I was a little surprised that it came with a jump booster instead of a dash, If it's like EDF5 a jump booster anything + Twin spear M5 was what made the insanely fast Fencer build,(you basically outmatch the Wing Diver in everything including flying) but in EDF5 you didn't get a jump booster on a melee anything iirc.
>>995000 Check those trips. But yeah this is the only melee weapon so far that comes with a jump booster. Also I completely forgot about the Twin Spears. Those combined with the Power Blade katanas sounds like an insane combo. Although so far I'm a bit concerned with the fact that I haven't unlocked high altitude missiles yet, the Arcane split missiles are fine but those verticle firing ones were great. >>994182 On this topic, I'm maybe ~35 missions in and I've already encountered I believe 3 missions that are just straight-up EDF 5 missions, same dialogue and everything. The dialogue itself doesn't feel out of place with where they are in the story, and they do add in some of the new alien types into them like the armored frogs, but fuck man I thought that if they did this they'd at least record some new voice acting for them. Also I just got done with the first encounter with the really fast green ants and I was surprised since that mission is almost at the end of the game in 5.

Here's progress on that mod to collect all crates at the end of the mission. The basic feature works, but is still very early and rough. Fundamentally, what you have to do is to beat a mission, and then a bike will appear nearby (with or without an message, see below) which you can enter to instantly pick up all the crates. The issue is that until a certain tool is fixed (and it will be, within the week) that notification system will skyrocket the file size from 30mbs to 6gbs (lol). Eventually it will be fixed. Lootmaster (Alpha) Lite https://drive.google.com/file/d/101eBtCrnFqN9fOwWXGrFCWw5MbM5osAh/view?usp=drive_link Lacks the notifications when the bike is deployed. Lootmaster (Alpha) https://drive.google.com/file/d/13BzF6fAQUn1ymTzEP3aDpnEJNnNc0iOA/view?usp=drive_link Does have the notifications, but is too fucking huge. >>994460 Nothing has materialized yet. They say they've done it, and won't provide the tools. According to those in contact, the epic store DLL was yeeted and yet multiplayer still worked, because that was just contributing crossplay, while the underlying Steam systems were still operational. I don't know if they're talking about Space War or Steam Invites.
>>995017 For the vast majority of the rehashed missions, there is new dialogue. It's just that it's usually minor details that most people don't notice. For example in the mission where you first take down a teleportation ship, the commander and the woman have a discussion about how to do it. In 5, she says that tactical nukes work, but she doesn't suggest it because then they can't salvage the debris. In mission 14 of 6, she says she doesn't suggest it because half of all nuclear facilities have already been destroyed and they're losing the nuclear option already. Pay close attention to the dialogue in each loop, and you'll see the situation gets worse and worse every time.
(1.04 MB 3840x2160 EDF6.jpg)

Not a fan of the time travel story. Miss the tug of war from previous games. Cinematic walking, waiting through awful dialog. Also don't care for the new enemy types. Ranger having equipment rocks though.
>>995057 >>995124 Ok I'm at about mission 50 and yeah, it's time travel. Should've seen that coming, honestly. Perhaps you're right that the dialogue is slightly different, I guess I just didn't notice. >>995124 >Cinematic walking, waiting through awful dialog I FUCKING HATE the tutorial mission, and there's like 2 or 3 missions I've played so far that force you to wait like 30 seconds to a minute before getting into the action. It wouldn't be so bad it the voice acting was better, but the only good VA is from the returning cast that comes in over the comms, the chatter from the guys on the field is awful and it happens way too much compared to the actually good actors >Also don't care for the new enemy types. Really? I think they're great. The androids have a great design and the grenadier variants force you to keep your distance and strategize. Armored frogs are pretty redundant, though, they're not much harder to kill than the normal ones despite how I like how they look >Ranger having equipment rocks though. Giving him deployable turrets and grenades is honestly a gamechanger, I'm hoping that the end-game ZE guns and grenades can make him more viable for Inferno difficulty since in 5 taking a Ranger into Inferno is basically considered a challenge run as far as I'm concerned
>>995128 Currently at mission 100. There's even more dialog and walking lol. I should've clarified about the enemies. The androids are great. Especially the grenadiers. I don't care for the Kruul and Excavator enemies. Game still rocks though. Glad it's finally here.
>>995129 >Currently at mission 100. There's even more dialog and walking lol. FUCK > I don't care for the Kruul and Excavator enemies. I think the Kruul have a great design, I love how they look. I'm mostly disappointed with how easy they are to kill, although I've been using the Power Blade with the Fencer so maybe they just melt when faced with Nip steel folded over 10 bajillion times. Maybe if I did those missions as Ranger I'd have a harder time. Haven't encountered Excavators yet but looking forward to a new enemy. Since you're on mission 100 can you spoil it for me: do the Deroys come back? I love those retarded ragdoll tripods.
>>995130 Just had some bad encounters with Kruul where they thoroughly fucked me up. I'm always Ranger. Need better weapons. And yes, the Deroys have shown up.
>>995132 >yes, the Deroys have shown up. Nice, they're my favorite enemy in the series.
I personally like the EDF6 story so far. I just made it to Mission 38, so now I back at the start of the game, but now things are going differently. Having beat EDF1, 4.1, and 5 I'v kind of got used to how the story typically goes, not that there is anything wrong with the formula, but now I'm Genuinely curious how things are going to play out in EDF6. The game taking place after EDF5 was already enough to be novel, but now I can't guess what's gonna happen. I think the fact you beat their ass in EDF5 so bad they're resorting to Time Travel shenanigans out of desperation is really cool.
>>995135 Been playing since EDF 2017 (EDF 3 technically, I guess) and I gotta say that EDF 6 escalates faster and more drastically than any other EDF game I've played. I'm really curious where it goes from the point that I've reached because this has more missions than any of the other games so far. Since you literally kill god at the end of 5 I'm genuinely curious how they're gonna try and top that.
I really do appreciate that EDF6 cranks up the introduction of new enemies much faster than 5 did, back when you had to wait the halfway point of the game to get the crazy stuff. Reached mission 130 so far, and there were a few levels in Hard difficulty that were genuinely difficult even for a seasoned EDF veteran like me. Also for Steam Deck users, you can disable the framerate limiter in the Performance tab when pressing the [...] button, this apparently fixes the random crashes I was occasionally having in the first 25 hours. I was also expecting far worse performance in the Steam Deck during mayhem situations but it handles pretty well. Battery life obviously gets murdered though. It's a great awesome game that is tainted by an ESL translation and the way Sandslot / D3 Publisher handled the Epic API for the PC port (which hopefully they'll look into the matter as they announced a while back)
Anyone else check out the camera type, and Damage Value settings? The default settings are fine, but there are some options worth taking a look at. Camera Type 1 makes the Character center in the center of the screen and zooms out the camera, it's the same Camera as EDF5. Camera Type 4 is funny since it zooms in so far it's almost unusable. For the Damage Numbers, I like "Hit Position" since it shows where exactly I'm damaging the enemy, and it makes things like getting a headshot on a frog more obvious that it's a weak point, since it's the same damage number value, but it is fewer shots to kill then a body shot.
>>995054 >They say they've done it, and won't provide the tools So it's an EDF in cheats situation again where you know it's been done but the rest of the community has to pick up the pieces for years. Wouldn't be surprised if all you needed was to replace the .dll by an empty one, it seems unlike japanese devs to make the effort of actually checking it's the right file instead of just trusting the name.
>>995161 In that case, wouldn't the crack have basically the same effect? Other than possibly you'd be playing with only those who have it, not all on Steam.
>>995162 >wouldn't the crack have basically the same effect? Cracked still needs the EOS thing, same with the online fix, though with the online fix I'd guess the service is tampered with so it might "better" than running the vanilla EOS.
>>995168 >>995162 Spoke too soon, apparently someone has been working on an Epic disabler and just released it, someone with the actual game on steam will have to confirm whether this works for it but it works for the cracked one. https://files.catbox.moe/hr0xmf.7z

I updated Lootmaster for EDF6 to a mostly definitive version. There's no more need for the bike, as the crates now are automatically collected just before the mission ends. The huge file is also no longer necessary, which is another plus. Check the video below, to get an idea of the (very simple) way things work. Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Vp-4XLlftjJnEpWFY-qaNeQUf_6uLPvl/view?usp=drive_link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5DkuXNhZxo
>>995170 The devs of Modloader (the utility to run mods on 4.1, 5 and now also 6) looked this up and implemented the same code. I tested it and the Epic login is still there. But according to the devs, it disables the startup condition checks. Anyway, one more feature for Lootmaster.
>>995412 Thank you anon, I'll download it soon.
To my fellow lazy fucks: the FitGirl repack is now available and it automatically applies the EOS remover. So no more Epic shit on the pirated version.
>>995487 Finally I can pirate it, thanks anon!
>>995487 Noob question here, Does the savedata on Fitgirl repacks will work later on the original game? I remember playing Fitgirl EDF5 then buying the game on sale on steam but couldnt use the same savedata or I was just too retarded to make it work.
>>995501 It probably needs some kind of hex editing to work. What usually happens with most games is that the pirated saves store the steam account ID somewhere and you have to change it to your legit account ID and sometimes move it to a folder with your ID, things like that. I don't remember how it was for EDF5, but if simply copying the saves didn't work, then it probably does something like this too.
(35.62 KB 500x592 darth-vader-thumbs-up.jpg)

>>995412 Wow, it really is as simple as extracting the mod files into the games' directory, then it just works. I guess it's a relatively simple mod to make, but it's such a time saver, picking up crates can be like half the mission time sometimes.
>>995548 So, is the steam version still fucked?
>>995567 I haven't seen any update for it so far, I hope this won't just get swept under the rug
I spoke about the load of unused content that's still in the game. Here's a mod that enables the 44 missions from EDF5 that are still in the game. https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce6/mods/10 I'm not sure why these are even present. They look like an exercise in coding the missions with a new method. And they might also be the basis for all the remakes seen in 6. Or maybe they're proof we're playing a glorified mission pack for 5.
>>995548 Given that the devs speak to me through cryptic symbolism in google-translated coding annotations, I think it's no mere chance that the looting took years to figure out in EDF5, while now it's incredibly convenient in 6.
>>995677 >Or maybe they're proof we're playing a glorified mission pack for 5. Anon aside from new weapons, enemies (which this game does have) and new classes in the case of EDF 2025/4.1, every EDF game is a glorified mission pack for the last game.
>>995677 What >>995768 Said If you don't use the Sprint or equipment Ranger plays exactly the same in EDF6 as he does in EDF1. Each mainline EDF game is pretty much an improvement on the last, but only in slight incremental ways. It took until EDF 4 for Picks to be 3D crates instead of 2D jpgs. Aside from incremental additions and improved graphics, EDF is the exact same game it's always been. The Iconic Beach level where the Red Ants rush you? That's from EDF1.
>>995781 If I'm not mistaken the default city map only got changed in the games that are considered EDF 4 (that is, 2025 and 4.1). I've been playing since EDF 2017 (AKA EDF 3) and really the only monumental milestone in the series is 4th gen when they added multiple player classes. Aside from, of course, the EDF 2 PSP port(? I think? My memory is fucked) I think that added the Pale Wing that was the predecessor to the Wing Diver that we know today.
>>995781 Also I gotta admit that this game's version of the "Crimson" mission where you face off against a waves and waves of red ants wasn't a beach level and was instead placed in the outskirts of the city where the big gimmick is "don't fall in the water". I liked it conceptually but it didn't hit the nostalgia high that 5 had when it was actually a proper beach level like the older games.
>>995793 The PS2 Version of EDF2, aka Global Defense Force, always had Pale Wing as the 2nd playable character. When it comes to the portable games, PSP EDF2 added new weapons and some new levels, but it's the PS Vita version "EDF 2017 Portable" that added Wing Diver to EDF3, and in turn the Vita version of EDF2 Portable added the Air Raider.
>>995800 Ah, I see. I'm surprised and kinda disappointed that I didn't get to play as Pale Wing when I played 2017 on the 360. I wonder why they omitted it since it was in EDF 2, although maybe they thought it was the first game on a new console and didn't wanna stray too far from the basic formula.
>>995808 Looking how close the releases are, they might have been working on EDF2 and EDF3 at the same time, and while EDF2 was reusing a lot of EDF1 assets that afforded them being able to add Pal Wing, EDF3 needed new assets for the 360 so they might not have had the budget or time to add a 2nd character.
>>995812 Ah okay. Also I've always been curious about EDF Tactics. I'm a sucker for TRPGs but I always assumed that it'd be barebones as fuck, even still I've been meaning to try it out one of these days.
I have had EDF6 crash a few times, once on Mission 49, and a consistently on Mission 56. I looked up others having issues and this guy in the Steam forums seems to have got to the bottom of it. I disabled Shadows and that seemed to have done the trick.
>>995821 I've been seeing reviews about performance/crashes and haven't had a single problem so far but good to know. It's not as if shadows add anything to the game anyway. All things considered aside from the Epic bullshit they have to pull the EDF series has seemed pretty good as far as PC ports especially for a small Nip developer.
>>995824 >seemed pretty good as far as PC ports It could have at least allowed for an unlocked framerate.
>>995824 They wanted cross compatibility between PS4 and PS5, which their systems couldn't handle, so they had to rely on a 3rd party. In the end, what we got was a too straight port from playstation.
>>995977 Could be that them leveraging EOS for PS4 / 5 crossplay came with strings attached such as, say, release the game on EGS and keep the middleware.
My only regret is... that I have... Boneitis
>>995174 Mouse sensitivity is tied to framerate, so if you use this, your camera will move slower if you look up or down. Just by feel, it's about half looking 70 or more degrees up or down. >>995412 There's a couple missions were it doesn't trigger. Anytime there's a irregular ending to a mission (fade to black/white) I don't see/hear the switch and gather, and I don't see the expected amount of items and armor that were on the ground.

There's this running gag that EDF finally made the jump to the 360 age, after being stuck forever in the PS2 era. And I think that's right, they just made a step forward into the wrong timeline: what with handholding, distracting eye candy, obstructing hud and bugs up the ass. Behold, they even retroengineered the piss filter. >>996090 >There's a couple missions were it doesn't trigger I don't know if you have the latest version, but the issues with the whiteouts and blackouts should have been fixed yesterday. I will check again.
>>996156 Turn up your anisotropic filtering.
So the only way to play the game without running EoS is playing the pirated version? Any news on the steam version?
Interestingly, the mission in the flatland against the fortress was one of the incomplete ones that were present in 5. I had always considered it just a test map for the fortress. >>995501 >Does the savedata on Fitgirl repacks will work later on the original game No, the saves for vanilla and fitgirl are different. The same happened with Codex's EDF5. However, the steamworks crack for 5 did allow you to share the same save (that was the one we used for the gamenights here), >>996297 Using the modloader utility (even if you're not actually running any mods), you can disable the EoS checks after the initial login. But that first one still stays.

>>997561 THIS SHIT IS GETTING FUCKING WILD!!!
So I'm up to mission 100, and here's how I feel about the new enemies so far. Keep in mind I'm playing Fencer, so I can move at sanic speed and being surrounded isn't as much of a problem for me as it is other classes. >firstly, this isn't really a new enemy, but I like the recolors/redesigns of the alternative timeline ants and spiders. The glowing eyes and the darker colors look cool >furthermore, silver spiders actually show up in Hard difficulty which surprised me. haven't encountered gold ants in Hard yet, but I guess I'll see <Androids >Love them all. Love how they look, love how there are so many different types. They fit perfectly into the series. The giant eye ones and the red ones are always a genuine challenge, especially the latter when they come in numbers <excavators >I agree 100% with >>997460 they're not fun to fight and they're annoying as shit. Luckily after the mission where you fight large waves of only them they tend to be implemented somewhat conservatively, Even still, they're just not fun to fight, add nothing to the missions they're in and were really just a bad idea <new drones >Not really much to say about these guys. I find that their lasers tend to miss me REALLY easily. The gimmick of shooting the sphere on the bottom of them is fine, but the basic ones go down really easily even if you don't do that. The red variants are as tanky and frustrating as the normal red drones, but that's to be expected. I didn't find the red ones that fun to fight, but they show up very sparingly and in missions where they show up with other enemies they're pretty sparsely included so you can focus on taking them out. Overall, not super excited about their addition but I can take 'em or leave 'em <Frog alien variants >halfway decent additions, they don't add too much but it's nice to have some variety outside of just green(machine gun) and red(shotgun). The deserters with the projectile shotgun type weapons aren't a huge problem gameplay/difficulty wise but I like the dialogue about them and how they contribute to the story. The armored variants are kinda redundant, their armor is paper-thin so they're not much harder to kill but they add to visual variety so eh, whatever <Kruul >Now here's my favorite new enemy. Fantastic visual design, several distinct variants, challenging to fight, and their gimmick with the shields and how fast their tentacles move make you have to think about how you're going to approach them depending on which weapon(s) they're using. Love these fucking cheesy squid aliens, great addition <Mermen(I forgot their real name, Scylla? Scyllia? whatever who cares) >I can see how these would be incredibly annoying for a Ranger or a Wing Diver, especially considering how many the game throws at you in some missions. So, if you hate them I completely understand, tanky Godzilla Jr.'s with purple fart clouds that melt your health can be a bitch to deal with. However, I gotta be honest I really like these guys. Maybe it's just because I'm playing Fencer primarily so I always have a way to deal with them effectively, but that sliding on the ground attack that they do is straight out of Shin Godzilla and it's so goofy and can't help but like it. Also I think it's cool that we have a giant kaiju-type monster that's not quite as big and strong as Erginus that can show up as a normal enemy in regular missions <shielded teleportation anchors >just wanted to mention these as they tend to be the anchors that summon the newer enemies and I like that they force you to get close to them to destroy them. However, again, I'm playing Fencer so that's not really a problem for me and maybe Wing Diver as well <Siren >when they announced EDF6 years ago and I saw him I naively thought that we'd get dragons back as a regular enemy but as it turns out no, it's just a giant kaiju "boss" enemy. I haven't gotten to the mission where you kill it yet (I can only assume you kill it at some point, EDF wouldn't cuck me on that, right?) but honestly so far it's actually been easier to dodge than Archelus but easier than Erginus. I like the story-twist where he gets even stronger when the EDF shoots him with the orbital lazer. Overall I'm happy that dragons are back even though it's just one. Really cool looking design and if I remember correctly all of his showcase missions have additional enemies so at least you have something to do while they're going on and you can collect armor and weapons during them Overall, the new additions to enemies are pretty good, the only one I REALLY hate are the Excavators who are just a really shit idea. >>997561 Neato. Valkyrie class for EDF6, replaces Wing Diver. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JL2m9EnWaNDqPdw-pYaBEJ33y0TcmTsm/view?usp=sharing It's a flying ranger with air raider drones, who can summon a friendly deroy. Try not to think of the game balance, just enjoy how flying makes all weapons so much more fun. More info at: https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce6/mods/31
>>997966 Out of curiosity, how much/little didya have to fiddle with this to port it from 5 to 6?
>>998150 It's all made from scratch, most code and models can't be ported. Truth be told, it's also a smaller class still in beta, it doesn't have tons of new weapons like the original. But I like using drones from the air, it makes perfect sense for a flier unit to have little flying pods. That and the deroy pet, you can expect all modders to try their hand at a summoner class now.
(3.22 MB 600x338 pop it, don't drop it.gif)

Man, those aerial reversers are way too good. As a ranger, they can just help you cheese events that should be near impossible, just pop one under your feet, and it makes youself near invincible, the enemies can't profit from it, and even the allies can be somewhat useful this time because they don't die that easily, it just trivializes the game. You can meet enemies like the mother ant who can deal enough damage to cancel it, but with cover, it's only once in a blue moon.
>>998694 They stack, so If you pop all three, I'm pretty sure you are invincible for the minute or so they last. I did it a handful of times on hard when I got swarmed and survived every time despite taking extra damage from my entire screen being green.

I haven't even finished Hard yet and I have 5 boost jump and 8 FUCKING DASHES. By the end of the campaign in 5 I had maybe 4-5 of each, I don't remember. They're pretty much the entire reason I'm motivated to catch up with his armor/weapons in solo, they increase his survivability a ton, especially if you don't know how to play him properly like me >they actually put gold ants in Hard difficulty and yes, they WILL fuck you up just as much as they did in EDF 5's Hardest/Inferno >this could be me just being lucky with weapon choice, but it feels like there's a better enemy variety balance in missions in general. I feel like all the different enemies in any given mission all have certain weapons that are effective against them, I haven't felt like there are any missions that make me go "damn, I wish I could've brought this weapon for THIS specific enemy here" <Kraken >feel the same way about these guys as I do the Kruul. Excellent design, all of their weapons are a challenge aside from the slow-moving red projectiles which are pretty easy to dodge but even still they're pretty hard to take down. Great enemy, love 'em <Haze >These things are deceptively weak. Very easy to take down but they hit harder than you'd think and they move around a lot. Not too much of a problem but they'll fuck you up in numbers if you ignore them. Overall I don't feel like they add too much but they're not as frustrating as the excavators <Red excavators >not too much tankier than the regular ones but they hurt way harder and they're noticeably faster. Like all red variants of robot/drone type enemies they're a bitch but being the stronger variant of literally the worst enemy in the game makes me wish whoever designed them has terrible things happen to them and their family <the story so far >It seems like shit's building to up to where they'll at least partially explain why the ayy lmaos are time travelling to fuck us up at this specific time, I am genuinely curious as to what the final "boss" will be >I actually like the scientist/professor/glasses guy character. His dialogue is fine and I actually appreciate when he comes over the comms. The biggest problem with him, as well as most of the new voices in the game, is that the VA is just putting in no fucking effort. If he was voiced by someone that put some more gravitas into his dialogue it would fit just fine and I'd actually say he's my favorite new recurring voiced character. Alas, a potentially good character has been mostly ruined by a lackluster voice actor that sounds like somebody's cousin got a job with an intern salary at a VA studio >people in this thread were right, there's a bunch of "cutscene" missions where nothing happens and you walk slow as shit and listen to shitty VA >I did like the last one though where your old commander busts in and tells everybody you're a hero and you exit the bunker to see the prosperous futuristic city with everybody celebrating, that got an emotional response outta me >>999766 unless I missed some dialogue in 6 I don't believe that's ever been the case in any EDF game. Teleportation ships, caves and anything that needed to be shot under were bitches to progress in 5.
I'm modifying the missions in the past, so they use the post-apocalyptic locations seen in the future. I would say it's purely an aesthetic gimmick, but the amount of crap that breaks is crazy and requires tons of work to fix. The long term goal is to make an alternative campaign that mixes that of 5 and 6. Without any time travel bullshit, the idea is that simply the Earth gets wrecked during the timeskip from civilian to soldier in 5: which may even be anticipated to mission 2 or 3. Do you have any suggestions as to which missions from 5 should get the makeover? Some which I guess were never remade in the time loops.

2 bugs were found in the vanilla game: >Mission 45: Tunnel #1 A single android spawns with 3X power. Probably, it was intended to be three androids at 1X power. >Mission 111: The Next Day A group of gold ants spawn at zero power, so they have zero health and have almost no aggro. Having zero health means that the game considers the entity both dead and alive at the same time. And it can be killed by healing it, supposedly (never tried myself). Speaking about modding, it is possible to trigger scripts in the mission using decoys. The most sought after application seems to be the ability to summon friendlies: the proper way, not just a few soldiers from a meteor. Which I found a few weeks ago, but cannot spawn EDF vehicles or bargas. However, you may also spawn enemies with it. Suppose the decoy is dubbed a jammer, and all vanilla EDF6 missions have this repeatable sub-objective of jamming enemy communications. If you do, you see a few text messages (jamming in process, please wait, objective completed) and a special enemy encounter is triggered. 4 players in multi may spawn a lot of extra waves, like this.

Long story short, any mods for 4.1 and 5 that added more missions than the default limits, caused the game to crash online... for whoever merely just LOOKED at your server in the lobby's list. A real holocaust. Recently, solo play had given hints that the situation had gotten better. So yesterday I was playing around with the aforementioned limits, and apparently the problem had been fixed. So I made this. >Gate of Steiner It loops the campaign three times. So you play from mission 1 to 147, and then it starts over with mission 148. Only the difficulty keeps rising. Up to mission 589, which is the EDF5 finale with the Nameless, and whose difficulty is nearly twice that of the upcoming DLC2. It's just a difficulty mod, don't expect no more. The trick is that challenge ramps up slowly (or rather, at the same rate as the campaign) and gives a quantifiable goal to completionists. Each mission unlocking the next up 589. And in the very real case that the difficulty actually becomes impossible to beat, then we'll just have put our faith in DLC weapons and mods: kind of like a major order for the modding community. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RSPAE8bCuQjZiSsT4xn6eHtwR7XQRVqy/view?usp=sharing I also added a cheat mode to unlock all missions in a separate download. But that's not necessary and can even be skipped in-game (the mission afterwards is already available). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DnrlWf5NXAUX8i50-Tlbk9Cf4GSy_vk0/view?usp=sharing

Someone at Sandlot really hates Air Raider huh? More enemies that counter their weapons specifically and more of their weapons going towards Rangers. While everything they get is nerfed. The drones are cool but lack range and are kind of silly even for a game like this.
>>1006224 They got pretty big buffs from 4 to 5 and in 5 they're stupidly broken in some scenarios with just how much shit they can throw at once on the field thanks to passive reloads existing. Though yeah buffing ranger has gone a bit overboard from what I've seen
>>1006498 Issue being that in 5 you don't start with a vehicle and in 6 you need a stupid amount of points just to get one at all. Air Raider went from super fun with being able to call in airstrikes and vehicles commonly to being some weird support unit that's barely viable solo.
>>1006518 >that's barely viable solo. I mean I can't say for 6 but unless they removed literally every good thing on him from 5 I struggle to believe it's true. >>1006534 Every faction needs to plan for cave levels, that's a non issue. And in 4, AR still pummeled due to having a vehicle right off the bat, the real hell is in 5 where you're just trying to survive with Limpet throwers. And 6 makes acquiring vehicles for AR even harder
>>1006518 >>1006538 > the real hell is in 5 where you're just trying to survive with Limpet throwers. Turrets anon, the buffs they got in 5 are substantial, you can even survive some pretty dire situations with just 3 sets of turrets

The increase in points is probably Sandlot assuming everyone is playing multiplayer so AR must be racking in points. >Satellites Also doubled but Bulge laser definitely feels stronger. Both surprisingly effective against the Ring and the final boss. >Replacing Turrets for mini drones Should have just given these to Rangers instead, the 4 types seem to fit their playstyle better. >Only one backpack item This was stupid considering AR is the supposed support class.

>Second Generation Summoner Classes These 3 new classes can summon over 150 allied creatures to fight alongside, from lowly tadpoles to the very god of the Primers. Compared to the first generation, they utilize a new and less invasive delivery method: friendlies are now called via grenades, not meteors. >Summoner The Summoner may call up to 5 creatures, to lead a veritable army of monsters. To offset this strenght, the pistol is his only possible backup weapon. Having a pistol and 4 summons is a sensible loadout. Yet, ditching classic weapons can be helpful, since certain monsters do no tolerate friendly fire against them. Among all classes, this is the purist experience, to see how far the summon mechanic can really be pushed. >Tech Commander The Tech Commander may only call up to 2 creatures, but that's on top of also having 3 powerful weapons. His loadout may pick a selection from both the Ranger and the Air Raider arsenal. One may even sacrifice one of his summon slots, to carry a vehicle. This is the most traditional of the summoner classes, that can simply fall back to its regular weapons if the plan goes wrong. But it is also the one with the most variety, allowing one to mix summons with many other playstyles. What's it like to keep the enemy occupied with swarms of ants, then level the area with airstrikes? What if used a dejewsrawler to climb over the head of your Erginus pet? >Wind Runner The Wind Runner may call up to 3 creatures, using one of the Wing Diver's weapons as backup. She may also use flight cores and the Summoner's pistol, which have a particular synergy. Since the pistol does not require energy, you can dismiss the core and instead equip a subweapon, like a saber. This is the most straightforward and easy-to-use of the new classes, with many fallback options. It also allows you to play closer to you summons, since they're often faster than foot soldiers: you're not supposed to lead from behind! https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce6/mods/98 Troubleshooting TLDR: before uninstalling, equip a level zero item in the fifth slot.

I also don't know how will I add a weapon powerup on each level gained? A basic damage increase gun won't feel as impactful of an upgrade. Any suggestions?

I wasn't satisfied with the way summoner classes worked yet. So I shuttered down everything and went full immersion for a few days. I think they're more fun now, engaging and even strike a moderate balance. Aside from general tuneups, the big deal is that now all summoner classes differentiate between 3 weapon slots and 2 accessory slots. Summons equipped in the weapon slots reload fast, but manually: you need to hold on the item like a gun, for it to reload. While summons equipped in the accessory slots reload slower, but automatically. After all these guys are hackers, it makes sense that summoning needs focus if you want it done fast. It also gives a certain depth to the setup of your gear, since now you can plan to either bring a summon manually and cut its time (but doing nothing else), or wait twice the time for it to reload manually and use it more sparsely. Summon reload times range from 3 seconds to 10 minutes: this way you can chain the quickest continously; or you could just stick the longest one to manual, because you know that you will only use it once, and won't actually have to reload it.

>>1016624 Autism is the obvious answer, but you also need something else to get past the merciless tools and much of the mainstream community being hostile to mods. People used to turn Quake into a racing game and Half-Life into a platformers: nowadays you're told "why, you shouldn't do that, it breaks the vision and hurts the community". What I love about mods is that they pull out hidden potential from games, in a way it's like developing an RPG character on a skill tree.

>Tech Commander >Cypher Angel >Data Summoner >Wind Runner I updated the summoner classes, now they're all part of the same mod and can be played together in multiplayer. And there's one more class: basically my old valkyrie, as to say a wing diver with ranger weapons. I also added some toys into the mix, so the classes should have something new to do even if you don't actually want to use summons. There's 17 pistols, an energy shield that repels projectiles, 9 ray guns that absolutely destroy enemy shields but not anything else, and plasma chargers to recover wing energy. Lots of stuff, and consider that all these classes have 3 weapon slots and 2 accessorie slots. With the wing diver adding one more just for cores.

>>1019692 I generally like time loop stories, but even I couldn't stomach this one. EDF6 makes plenty of mistakes with that, the recycled content and enemies which just take the silly too far, and the songs have gotten too terrible to ignore. Having said this, there's also much good along with the bad. There's both, it's a flawed game more than being a failure. The enemies are fun to fight nonetheless, the levels are fine, there's lots of missions. I'm not sure what happened, if EDF5 had already been planned to have a sequel: but I don't think so, because the ancient ayys theme of 5 was very different from this time travelers crap. I think EDF6 will damage the brand much more than Iron Rain ever did, simply because it left such a sour taste with people. Insect Armageddon which an infinitely worse game than 2025, was still enjoyable by someone who never knew the series: you could say it made mistakes, while 6 is a dickhead who purposedly ruins things that could have been right. Eventually I want to make a mod that sets the entire game in the future, with no trace of the time travel story, as a statement. To say here's what I think should have been.

>>1019754 I had already started making it over a month ago, but the mapping tools are so incomplete that people would have complained about bugs. Here's a few new weapons that are part of the summoners package. >Rook Compact A semiauto pistol derived from the G&M, with piercing ammo. >HE Bishop A full auto machinepistol, with explosive ammo (it's a meme, the explosion radius is minimal). >Plasma Charger It's a healing post that recharges Wing Diver energy. The code has been in the game since 4.1. >Energy Shield Like the Fencer reflectors, it pushes back projectiles. Unfortunately it worked way better in 5, since now lots of enemies leave a lingering damaging cloud that can't be protected against. >Shield Buster A blue blazer that deals shit damage to anything, except shields that get annihilated fast. Interesting in theory, but in solo you will probably still prefer using your normal gun: as switching from the shield buster to another gun is too cumbersome. Good for coop, however.
I can't stand the minecraft-derived graphics of World Brothers, but also can't shake off the feeling that it looks more fun than the current mainline title.

(296.28 KB 1544x507 dual.jpg)

I never edited the Fencer before, due to its high chance of crashing whenever you change anything. But now I think I can port weapons from other classes to it. What do you think of using Wing Diver weapons on Fencer? Without the energy requirements however, they would reload just normally. It's ironic, since everyone in 5 ended up considering Fencer a better Wing Diver after mastering it. Who knows, maybe all the baggage to make the WD weapons nerfed and cumbersome is less painful, when you wield 2 at a time. Oh yes, I also have to remove the preloading on the weapons (aka having to press attack for a while, then release to fire) else they can't be fired in dual wield at the same time. I would still want this class to have the classic hammers and the new swords, though.
WTF is world brothers even? It looks like the same game but with blocky graphics, is that all there is to it?

>>1022091 World Brothers is a large EDF crossover, presented under a more colored and cheerful tone, featuring all the classes of both mainline and spinoff titles (including Insect Armageddon and Iron Rain) as well as many enemies. Without going much into spoiler territory, here is the list of enemies you get to fight against in World Brothers 2, often banded together with aliens from other entries. >EDF 1 Mothership (Invader) Ants Queen Ant Daroga UFO Carrier Tunnel Solas (and its variants) UFO Fighter >EDF 2 Spiders King Flying Ants (NEW) Insect Hill (NEW) Centipede Dragon Centipede Imperial Guard Drones Bomber Drones >EDF 3 Mothership (Foreigner / Ravager) Hector (Spark Launcher, Particle Gatling Gun, Plasma Cannon) Flying Drones Teleportation Ship Quadruped Fortress Varak >EDF 4.1 Hornet Death Queen Insect Hive Erginus Blue Hector (NEW) >EDF 5 Mothership (Primer) Shield Bearer Colonists (NEW) Battle Drones (NEW) Teleportation Ship (NEW) Archelus (NEW) >EDF 6 (NEW) The Ring
[Expand Post]Androids Grenadier Androids Cyclops (DLC) Neckle / Excevators (DLC) Scylla >>EDF 4.1 WINGDIVER THE SHOOTER (NEW) STG Death Queen >>EDF Insect Armageddon Robotic Praying Mantis >>EDF Iron Rain Hivecraft Sideros Beizal Deathstalker (NEW) It also plays differently as you get to control a team of four characters at once in each level instead of a single class like usually. Each character can only use one weapon, equip up to three accessories for passive bonuses, and all of them have specific active prompt skills and a super skill (that become available upon filling the character bar to 100% - for example, 4.1 Air Raider making use of Rule of God or EDF5 Ranger). The spinoffs have their own OCs representing a bunch of countries in a very stereotypical way, which wouldn't fly in most modern western games these days. Mexico has Tacos Brother, Koala Brother is a legal representative of Australia, the arabic characters either have default explosive or poisonous weapons by pure coincidence, etc. World Brothers 2 has a few QoL features over its previous entry too: >Soldiers and vehicle NPCs are present on the map as allies >Every character has an extra unique ability prompt >Playing on Hard difficulty will give medals for Easy and Normal too. Hardest and Inferno are both unlocked upon completing the last level (unlike in the previous game where you had to redo the whole game again in Hardest in order to unlock Inferno) >Failing a level and quitting gives you a small health upgrade for all the characters in your squad, regardless of difficulty (this also works on Inferno) >You can skip the story dialogues when you replay the mission levels (once the music jingle tells you the level is over) Impossible difficulty still exists if you own the mission pack DLC, where the enemies are not only more aggressive but you start each level with an incomplete team, which can only filled with random characters you have to save on the field.
>>1022240 I played a couple of missions of World Bothers 2 yesterday and I'm not sure how to feel about the "self aware" jokes. For example when the frog soldiers show up they repeat the EDF5 meme of "They look just like us!" but then someone replies "Really? They look like frogs to me." I see that the developer is actually Japanese, but could there be translation shenanigans going on? I don't like the vibes of western "meta" humor that it gave me, but maybe I'm just too traumatized by pozzed westoid writers, I don't know. The game itself is a lot of fun so far and feels less janky than mainline EDF.
>>1022229 Did they fix the desyncs and the amd crashes yet? Still not going to buy it until it hits $20

As I mentioned, here's a Fencer that can also use Wing Diver weapons. Introducing the: >Thunder Striker class https://drive.google.com/file/d/19nXXrNJcRty9vtEQmF1A4B-xaIlvaGLv/view?usp=sharing His weapons don't need energy to reload, but they do have longer reload times. It's fun to shoot them in dual wield, or mix them with shields and hammers. I bundled the class to the Valkyrie (a Wing Diver using Ranger weapons) more out of necessity than anything, since the new class had taken over all energy weapons and a vanilla Wing Diver could no longer be possible. https://www.nexusmods.com/earthdefenseforce6/mods/126
(306.96 KB 1078x821 blue.jpg)

>>1022594 Also, since the "lore" was that the Powerdyne and Disruptors could only be reloaded by Fencers equipped with plasma generators... this Thunder Striker can indeed reload both (automatic 2 mins and 3 mins, respectively).
>>1010923 What would be an equivalent of survivors gameplay, in the main game? 100X spawns at one hundreth of health (or healh and damage)? But I think they would have to spawn constantly, so there's always at least a hundred enemies out at the same time.

I made this little mod that replaces all enemies with their mutant version. Like ants turning into blue ants (from the DLC), or even just frogs becoming armor frogs. Obviously it's wildly unbalanced, but at least you got something new to shoot in the old campaign.
