/v/'s High Score Table: World Championship Edition Anonymous 07/21/2024 (Sun) 10:09:45 Id: 37da27 No. 992232
Post your high scores /v/ and see if some other anon can compete with you.
I'll post my own high scores from NES World Championship. I really had fun doing the challanges (except the jousting Zelda 2 challenge v Rabonek, I suck at that one). Got any high scores you want to share? I'll do a review for NES World Championship in the relevant thread later but I really dig the "instruction manual" type help they offer for some of the challenges, using the old booklet art and everything.
>>992232 I like this concept, although you need a specific game.
I can finish Doom's E1M1 in less than 13 SECONDS
>>992271 Prove it
I dare you fatfucks to beat this time with popping all the balls in the Wii Fit bicycle!
>>992278 Check this shit out >>992279 I kneel.
>>992268 OP's wiser to be broad. Low incentive to get a specific game Anons don't have: -No glory being anon and not enough namefags -No prize -Most Anons suck and won't post shit scores NWC's suitable as a score game, hard to cheat, emulator-friendly (probably), relevant (just released), and many popular games (wider audience), but good luck attracting interest. Even games of the month have few new guys despite more incentives (open-ended, no embarrassment, stickied thread), it's primarily Anons voting to discuss what they already played.
>>992268 >I like this concept, although you need a specific game. I was thinking anons could post their best scores from any game to get some friendly rivalry going, though having a "game of the week/month" might be something to do. >>992287 Is that legit? Got a demo? I bet you cheated and used the run button you nerd
>>992287 First attempt anon try harder
>>992568 Okay, second attempt then... At this rate I'll have it beat in 7 seconds...

>>992578 Damn I had this in the back pocket in case you posted 10s, I'll have to get a sourceport with decimals and later. I think the world record is just under 9s so unless we become gamer gods that won't happen...
>>992579 > I think the world record is just under 9s Apparently it's 7.8 seconds.
I placed well in two NWC events that ended earlier today. Got in the top 1% for clearing SMB 1-1 and the top 10% of the Metroid challenge!
>>992603 Retro Tron or a Retro Ron?
>>992603 Is it a speedrun of 1-1?
>>992610 Real name is Ron, and I like retro stuff. >>992634 Yep, the challenge was to speed-run 1-1. I didn't do the backward jumps at the start to get max speed so lost .05 of a second.
>>992827 >Yep, the challenge was to speed-run 1-1. I didn't do the backward jumps at the start to get max speed so lost .05 of a second. Are events 1 try or many? I don't have NWC. On NES I got 380 up the pipe 2nd try. Should be #363 NWC but if events are 1 try you beat me. I never learned the backward jumps at the start either.
>>992975 >Are events 1 try or many? You can try as many times as you like within the challenge period which is usually 1 week, resetting on Mondays with new challenges.
>>992977 Downloaded it. No time to do all but I'll compete in level 1, Mushzoom. Got 00:03.73 in a few tries. What's yours? Can you see the best? How far off am I? I don't backward jump before running. I'll try more later or if you beat it.
Tried some more, got 00:03.70.
Light-bulbed a better strategy, tested it, got 00:03.63 in a few tries. Still no backward jump before running. Can someone beat it?
>>993001 At the end of the week you get results and you can watch a replay of the first place winner to see their path and strategy. There are no other leaderboards or anything that I can see. I'll have a crack and see if I can beat your score. I'll post results in this thread later.

>>992232 Sure, Lovely Planet was a personal autism pit of mine for a bit so I went and tried to get decent times on most latter levels, all but one is top 500 on a LB that's 100k strong, think my best is a #17, and that's on a leaderboard with a decent bunch of 0.01Seconds times and obviously cheated times and legacy times that aren't beatable anymore thanks to a physics change.

>>993015 By 0.14 at 3.49. Strat's my own, from left side. Could go lower, but I bet it beats the board.

>>992358 >No glory being anon Rep what challengers can contest in game. Console, country, website, whatever. I rep Windows 7, the OS of game champions.
>>993743 >I use Win7 btw
>>993753 >Can't win, still mad Should game more, tinker less
>>993754 >still Are you confusing me for somebody else? Were you in an argument with somebody? I'm making reference to the "I use Arch btw" memes about Arch Linux users, famous for bringing up their OS for no reason.
>>993755 >bluffs worse than he games Not surprised, neither work for you. Talk's cheap, scores aren't. 10 times my free time, 0 results, and 7's still #1. Should've shitposted less and got gud, sucks to suck.
(253.00 KB 335x506 kneel meme.png)

>>993742 Damn man what a sick time. Are you the thread OP or a new competitor? I didn't expect my 00:03.63 trounced by a 00:03.4X and my limit's probably 00:03.5X even if I learned the backward jumps at the start so I kneel. GG!
>>993755 The Win7fag is just mildly schizo, forgive him.
He contributed and posted a high score in the game in OP while you came just to piss and whine. It's a high score competition, if you're triggered by his pic beat him to shut him up, that's the point you pretend to miss.
>>992234 >>993015 >>993742 Hey. tagging you guys cause you played it but this question's for anyone who has. Is Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition worth it for the single player and local multi player if you don't do the online content? I'm not good enough to make waves in online ladders, but I like NES and mini games, and local multi player's got Mario Party vibes, which is a blast. The NES Edition subtitle also sounds like a hint to the future. A SNES edition maybe, as a late Switch or early Switch 2 title.
Just came back to me, I actually have another fairly good high score and I know there's a chance someone else might compete since I recall some guy shilling that game way back when it released.
>>993803 >Is Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition worth it for the single player and local multi player if you don't do the online content? No, this really should have been a free release for NSO+ subscribers. The single player content is bare-bones and wears out quickly. I haven't tried the local multiplayer yet. That may change my opinion.
