IOC axed Mario and Sonic series to sell NFTs - Also sports games I guess Anonymous 07/31/2024 (Wed) 20:55:26 Id: 72bb7a No. 996104
https://archive.is/XqoCQ Series was only good for Peach/Daisy/Rosalina in leotard and swimsuit, bu this is a really shitty way for almost any series to die just like it was for Expeditions. The IOC is completely incapable of not getting own goals. What are your favorite sports game career modes? Are there any you think do something interesting beyond just a gallery of increasingly difficult opponents? I really liked the overworld of the GBC/GBA Mario Golf with stuff to find and golf based challenges to complete. The Mario Tennis games are similar, but the entire overworld is a single tennis club+a brief trip to a tournament venue with only one thing to find so it's not nearly as fun to explorer. THUG, of course, remains a brilliant execution of what it is and it's a shame that the series could never quite follow up on (THUG2 is series of totally whacky random events the writer thought was amusing, THAW had a mediocre story killed by forcing you to progress the story to do basic stuff).
tl;dr: >Olympics Committee (IOC) walked away from Nintendo and Sega's Mario & Sonic at the Olympics series for deals with new partners, NFTs and esports. >Decision to end the series was IOC's, which didn't renew its deal with Nintendo and Sega >Lee Cocker, who worked on the series: "Basically the IOC wanted to look at other partners to get more money." >Join the Olympics in Paris 2024 with nWay's NFT Digital Pin collection, the game's website explains. >Claim a pin showcasing the Paris 2024 mascot. Collect these gems through the NFT marketplace in Coinbase's Onchain Summer event. Have a blockchain wallet to secure yours today!
>>996116 I didn't summarize it because >IOC axed Mario and Sonic series to sell NFTs Literally is all there is to the story.
Given the shitshow that's been surrounding the Olympics this year - it's probably best for their brands if they sit this one out anyhow.
>>996104 Kinda sad I guess, but these games were never particularly good.
>>996141 Funny enough, Nintendo actually made the best Sonic 3D model considering how good it looks in Frontiers.
>>996141 If one really feels the need to play one of them London 2012 is the best of the lot.
>>996118 You forgot them admitting to money laundering.

>>996104 >The new Mario & Sonic was about to bring back NFT's just to gain the retards who used to shit on the trend As expected the out of touch (((burgoistein))) thought the shovelware at best franchise was the best thing since the second coming of Christ, he should've went with Super Smash, now that would triplicate the impact that could dethrone Pokemon cards as a whole.
So Sega and Nintendo refused to ruin Mario & Sonic with NFTs and the Olympics Committee said, "Fuck you guys, we want money, we're doing NFTs," dropped Sega and Nintendo, and are doing their own thing with NFTs.
>>996223 Nigger can you not read?
>>996249 His comprehension's bad and his baseless bluster jumps between extremes, he may be brown. 8chan's Great Replacement brought in the browns and 3/5 top boards are now foreign.
(4.60 MB 1280x720 Bat Tat Jiggle Physics.mp4)

>>996116 >No more Peach, Daisy, and Blaze in tights >No more bat tat jiggle rock climbing >No more Wario and Eggman exposed nipples and feet Fucking COWARDS!
>>996306 They've already been neutering the Sonic series by putting black voids under skirts. Wouldn't surprise me if they'd give them those bodysuits the Olympics adopted and nerf the jiggle, had they renewed their contract.
>>996249 Can you "No Child Left Behind" dipshits admit that Nintendo employees are not your friends? >>996255 No wonder why these Bing Bing companies still exist, too many mentally retards keep on sucking Iwata's corpse and let their lawyers rape every crayon eating fucktard into bankruptcy. Emotional manipulation is going stronger than ever: >You want your waifu printed in a piece of paper? <Better get down on your knees. Mutated genes are on (((their))) favor.

>"mentally retards" >couldn't read or understand the topic in his last post >can't write coherent thoughts >can't think outside cartoon black and white exaggerations >emotional spergout of disjointed free association schizophrenia >mental breakdown off topic to OP triggered by the word Nintendo Yes senor, it's Nintendo's fault people here bullied you. As Shigeru Nintendo, head ninja to Iwata, I drew it up with George W. Bush. We told them, "GET HIM!" If only Acts of Congress hadn't made the American school curriculum brainwash me with Iwataism, you would've gotten away!
>>996306 >>996104 Damn. It's not Olympics outfits, but have some on model princesses.
>>996104 Not sure how much profit they made from these games exactly, but what made the IOC think that ending a deal with two big video game companies and adopting NFTs would bring in more money? The Mario and Sonic series appeals to a wide audience, and many might just buy it as a reflex or just to have it. NFTs have a bad reputation and only a small niche group of adults are interested in them. Even if sales end up mediocre, it's a safer investment to make a video game.
>>997211 Blockchain made crypto bros rich so every startup that wants to be the next Bitcoin contacts organizations like IOC to shill their scam.
Just realized the worst part: No Sage in leotard/swimsuit.
>>998372 Will SAGE actually appear outside of Frontiers?
>>998373 She was in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, which Sega is treating as canon.
>>998376 Forgot the pic
>>996136 How bad is it?
>>998382 Unless you're a Flip (first time a man ever won a gold for them and they're going nuts) or a Turk (one got a silver in pistol while being visibly worse equipped than everyone else. 11s already calling him "無課金おじさん" or Uncle Free-to-Play), very. Off the top of my head. >literally satanic opening ceremony (by gay Jew, because of course it was by a gay Jew) >no air conditioning in athletes quarters because muh global warming <guest nations bring their own AC to way worse enviromental impact >refuse to have edible food for athletes because muh global warming >meanwhile set water event in horribly polluted river that athlete immediately vomits after existing and another falls ill after event >woman's boxing is dominated by a pair of men who didn't even meet the Olympic's low standards >ban religious symbols and phrases, but only for Christians
>>998415 The sooner the jews get killed, the better.
I know it's like 15 years later, but I'm still mad that they finally did a Mario and Sonic crossover, and it was just a minigame collection. We could have got a platformer, but no. I suppose a racing game would be pointless if it was just a Mario Kart clone, but a more non-conventional racing game, like Sonic Riders or something? That could have been cool. Anything other than a minigame collection. Do any of these games at least have story modes, so they can at least be worth it for autism's sake? I mean I wanna see Sonic and Mario team up to fight Bowser and Eggman, but I assume since it's the Olympics that won't happen. Though there were some tie-in comics that had light stories, but since they were only licensed by Sega and not Nintendo, they only have Sonic characters, defeating the whole crossover aspect that makes it fun.
>>998529 >Do any of these games at least have story modes, so they can at least be worth it for autism's sake? Only the portable versions (And 2020), beginning with 2009's Olympic Winter Games.
>>998556 Feels like just yesterday we were joking about how the 2012 Olympic logo looked like Lisa Simpson giving a blowjob.
>>998563 >Feels like just yesterday we were joking about how the 2012 Olympic logo looked like Lisa Simpson giving a blowjob. Can't unsee.
>>996116 >>998415 Maybe, with the Olympics collapsing, game companies can return to non liscensed sports games. Like California Games.
