What are mixels?
>>21216 it's when you have inconsistently sized pixels

I don't want to leave.
>>22724 You aren't forced to. If the majority of anons did leave, the PPH numbers on here wouldn't be exactly the same as during the previous 7 days, and 4chinz admins wouldn't attempt emergency damage control by branding every post that contains the word 8chan as spam and temp banning the poster. We won. Actual imageboard culture won. 4cuck and its' legions of jeed, mossad agents, and bbc spammers are dead now.
>>22724 you can... just stay. you're not being kicked out. you never have to leave. looking forward to the site becoming faster like it was before though, but that will happen even if some of you decide to stay here >>22725 Halfchan banning you for seemingly any mention of altchans is what originally caused me to leave actually. they're afraid of competition
>>22724 Then don't.

>>23380 That's a fucking old image, devs have moved onto low-poly now. That said, I have two things to say about it 1, many indie devs weren't actually going to an retro art style, they were using pixel art because it's easier to create and implement 2, the core idea is to a degree true, many people (devs included) can have a very skewed view of what old games actually looked like. If you were asked to depict a game from 1988, you probably wouldn't create anything like pics related.
>>23380 let me guess, the one on the left is some old shareware dos game and the one on the right is a recent indie.
(474.23 KB 396x296)sam.gif
>>23566 You are correct it's an old shareware game, but not old enough for it to be from classic 2D era. It's an extremely obscure game from roughly 2010? I think it's called Gravity. The game on the left is in fact Seirei Densetsu Rikkuru AKA Little Samson, regarded as one of the best games on the NES in both graphics and gameplay. Due to coming out very late in the NES's life, it was a commercial failure that remained relatively unknown until the 2010s. This also means the game is very rare, with carts starting at about $1300.
>>23380 "Retro" is just a common way to excuse trash-tier art. The fad is here to stay not because it's legitimately retro but because it allows them to get away with low quality garbage. >>23576 That anon is just trolling. He mixed up left and right on purpose.
>>21271 Rixels?
>>23380 Left could have been a DOS game, though.

>>26874 Hardly. DOS games would have better pixel art but a smaller color palette.
>>23366 Very good post.
