STEPS
Preheat the oven to 325°F (162° C). Place macadamia nuts on a
baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Set aside to
cool.
Combine flour, oats, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
In another large bowl, place the butter and mix until smooth. Add
sugars to butter and mix until smooth. Add the maple syrup, egg, milk, and
vanilla paste.
Slowly mix in the flour mixture. Add macadamia nuts and fold until mixed
well. Divide the dough into two equal portions.
Add the chocolate chips in one bowl and the chocolate covered raisins
in the other bowl, mixed until just combined.
Place the dough, about 2 tablespoons (55 g) at a time, on a baking
sheet and press down slightly into a cookie shape. Repeat until all the
dough has been prepared. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Place in the oven to bake for 16 to 19
minutes.

Blogposting - Depressed Gaming Edition
There are hundreds of games in my library, thousands of retro games in my emulator folder, and so many that I recently got a hold of that I simply thought looked interesting too try out. Despite all of that I have almost no drive whatsoever to play any of them. Some of the few I've actually been wanting to play are ones I can only enjoy with friends co-op but none of them are online, and the few I've played endlessly in the past solo feel pointless. Why bother? Completionism, to say I did, to get another idea for some game or drawing or mod I'd want to make but just put off forever while I head back into the wage cage and then come home and drink myself to sleep and wish any of it made me feel anything at all anymore?
It'd be nice to upgrade to a new PC, but I don't have the money. And if I did what good would it do if I just keep playing the same four or five games anyway? The past 20 minutes consisted of clicking through my library running a mental cost benefit analysis just to end up on the same game I played last night. I decided against it because I'm tired and don't feel like it'd matter if I even bothered. Everything feels like an endless hamster wheel with no end but the one you make.
I fucking hate modern computers. I fucking hate Microsoft. I fucking hate the Chinese. I fucking hate how gaming is mainstream now and the entire industry subsists off of whales and gachas and casual faggotry. I fucking hate "achievements" and how they've ruined my brain's reward system. I hate steam. I hate gaming becoming a fucking social media platform when it used to just be games.

A girl finding out that a guy has more than 100 hours of playtime in any given videogame (singleplayer or multiplayer it doesn't matter) elicits the same, visceral disgust reaction than many men when they find out that a girl has had history with 20 men or more. A female friend recently dropped this at a party I was at and it really put things into perspective for me about how vidya, despite being part of the mainstream, still has strong negative connotations amongst people who are completely out of this culture. Very different from how movie buffs or bookworms are perceived by someone who's not that involved.
I know this sounds controversial and clickbait but as with many other hobbies turned into addictions, the negative impacts on your actual life can be sizeable. It may be silly but take a step back and re-assess the relationship you have with the hobby lest you want your life to take a sour turn, especially on the relationship front. Those are my two cents.

Do you think Nintendo is going to do anything special for the anniversary? I'd really want a Wii Classic Edition, but best case scenario they probably just announce Wii on the Switch Expansion Pack. Having a way to get new official Wiimotes would be nice though. Choosing between Joycon gyro or mouse mode seems like a good idea too.

How do you stay passionate about videogames? I feel like I have grown completely out of touch with it. When I look around, it doesn't feel like a hobby anymore and more like a constantly ongoing event for retards. All I see are people buying for the sake of buying and supporting shitty practices. It's the consoomer meme turned real.
My biggest issue is games being made and treated like toilet paper. Online dependency and DRM kills any interest and excitement I have for a game. I refuse to buy any game that's affected by this. It just doesn't sit right with me, knowing my access to the things I buy can be revoked randomly.
But even though I vote with my wallet, it seems to only get worse. Videogames are just too big to fail, because the masses don't care. Ultimately I feel like you can only have fun if you become ignorant yourself and just consume product no matter what.
