If a game is consistently fun, that means it's good. Sure, if the only time you enjoyed playing the game was when you were drunk hanging out with your friends and one guy kept farting loudly whenever a certain character talked, then it's not a good game. But if I have fun no matter what the outside situation is, then the game itself is capable of providing what I want from it, which makes it good.
