Creepypasta Thread Anonymous 08/08/2025 (Fri) 19:14:19 No. 29648
What are your favorite haunted game creepypastas? They've obviously not creepy now that I'm not 12 anymore, but they were really interesting back in the day. Most of these (maybe rightfully) get dismissed as crap nowadays though. I remember a lot of the haunted pokemon ones. They probably had some of the most detailed stories. Hacked "creepy" roms, fangames, ARG-like games, and good trollpastas are welcome too.
There's been a recent (I think) creepypasta for the NES Godzilla and it also got a fangame. It does a good job of making things unsettling I'd say. Unfortunately it's not finished but the creepypasta itself is worth reading or looking up on Youtube.

There's a SMW rom hack called Coronation Day or " 'the ". This one is pretty short and it's worth at least going through the playthrough.
There's of course the classics. Sonic.exe is awfully popular with the kids these days. There are a lot of recent fangames for it.

There was also this mario romhack ARG-ish creepypasta that had an embedded image inside of it.
>>29654 That was all just a Democrat fundraising around, you know. There were a few more hacks he did that also had creepy shit, but he was just slapping shit together and didn't plan ahead and put together a plot.
>>29655 >Democrat fundraising around what

>>29649 Frankly, after being exposed to decades of shitty creepypastas on /x/ and /v/, watching Slenderman rise and fall, witnessing Ben Drowned go from a frightening found footage story to some shit about a living AI trying to be god (I think that's what it turned into I don't know I don't really care), I think the Godzilla NES pasta really does it proper. It's got a middle of the road story, but has custom art, game assets, doesn't take itself too seriously and manages to accomplish a spooky story without overstaying its welcome. It really is still the best. Alternatively, my vote goes to Jvk1166.esp. Doesn't do anything outside the realm of possibility beyond fuck with a game and has striking imagery and an unsettling vibe that capitalizes on its setting and janky, weird nature. >>29654 The scary picture from that always just looked to me like some horrifying demon that decided to go through a scene girl phase and it doesn't want its mom to find out it bleached its hair so it took a selfie in its Hellworld to post on MySpace before washing it out.

>>29689 Also, >>29649 >recent (I think) >came out in 2011 Now that's the real horror.

>>29690 i never heard of it back then for some reason
>>29690 nes godzilla is the king of creepypasta
>>29673 Late reply, but somehow spellcheck twisted a Democrat fundraising around into that.
>>29725 Okay I think there's a word filter. I typed a child messing around. But with kid. And fucking.
I remember liking Hell Bell back in the day but I imagine it would be a nothingburger if I read it again
(788.49 KB 1699x890 petscop.png)

Fuck, I just remembered about picrel. What was the ending for this? I kind of just lost interest after a while. Wait, now that I'm reading the description for this, was this even an actual game that you can download or just a video series?
>>29732 Just a video series, it had too many elaborate secrets to be an actual amateur game, unlike Crow 64 who eventually got one

>>29731 >I can’t sleep, food seems to turn to ash in my mouth, no water can quench my thirst, and people and animals both act as if the shadow of death is passing by them when I’m near… I’m not my own anymore… I belong to that man… and Hell Bell. sounds like something out of dantes inferno >I don’t know what became of that Pokémon, but if I received it, someone else is surely to do so... Use caution while using the trading system. kek >“Thank you, miss. You’ll be happy to know that you now belong to me.” hot
Nothing beats the rumors which used to swirl around in the early internet days. GTA San Andreas spawned a ton of creepy stories. I used to honestly believe that Bigfoot was in the game and I would go hunting for him There were rumors of a serial killer in the game who hanged out at the mountain cabin, and would murder you with a chainsaw There was also rumors that the Big Ear had some relation to UFOs, and that the NPCs around there were unusual. Some people said that sometimes you would get radio interference in that area. There was another rumor that sometimes the planes would deliberately kamikaze into you There's some massive unnamed bunker-looking building out in the desert which I still have no idea what it was for, it looked like some kind of government doomsday bunker to me, or a secret research facility All these rumors made playing San Andreas on a quiet night alone feel a bit foreboding sometimes, like somebody was watching you
>>29689 Jvk1166 was good. Just read it based on your recommendation.
Killswitch is classic urban legend about a purported game that would delete itself after you beat it. https://bgeek.eu/features/killswitch-gaming-urban-legend/ https://fishmech.info/invisiblegames/invisiblegames.net/archives/killswitch/index.html
>>29750 Glad you liked it! It's always stuck around in my mind as a really solid spooky story. Nothing too crazy, nothing world-ending or impossible, but really good at being creepy.
>>29766 Oh shit, I recognize this one too! Funny, it's not really the same as I remember from reading about it on /v/ or /x/ all those years ago. The only stuff I actually even remembered were playing as either a girl or an invisible monster and that it took place in a mind. For some reason my memory had also turned it into some 3D style arcade game like Alone in the Dark or Resident Evil but with some meta elements to it.
>>29648 I liked newly single, in a way i'm surprised someone actually did a creepypasta for a porn game of all things desu, even more surprised it actually ended up being pretty good, even included some decent images to go with it. only real issue is how bad the final edit looks desu.

>>29793 I used to avoid every single video about Huniepop that came up on youtube. Was it anything more than FOTM garbage? Was it made by the Japanese or a studio trying to imitate the anime style? Also >look up the pasta >see picrel kek
>>29800 >Was it anything more than FOTM garbage? it's a pretty decent puzzle game desu, if you want some game to go with your porn you could do worse. >Was it made by the Japanese or a studio trying to imitate the anime style? trying to replicate nips, not really nip >pic i bet it's cause of it being a porn game pasta kek
>>29793 >Kevin and his little brother made a creepypasta-esque Huniepop hack as one last 'fuck you' to his former cuck friend Just finished reading it and it's actually pretty good. More believable than the usual THE SKETCHY VIDEOGAME I BOUGHT FROM SOME FLEA MARKET BLED HYPER-REALISTIC BLOOD ALL OVER MY CONSOLE nonsense.
>>29843 Reminds me of that one sonic creepypasta about a horror hack someone made to trigger seizures in epileptic people as a troll and he distributed it by leaving random blue USBs in public. Was written by some beaner, El Pendribo Azul? Or something like that. >>29689 I remember something about jvk1166.esp being incoherent but I can't recall it now, I'll give it a re-read and see if I can remember what it was. Like, incorehent as in it wouldn't work in the actual game due to engine limitations.
>>29689 Didn't Godzilla NES also get a sequel?
(5.12 MB 1920x1080 lol.webm)

>>29848 Yeah, but it seems to be abandoned since 2023. A guy who made a video on it made the funniest thing in existence >DESTROYER OF CARL
>>29800 Huniepop is a pretty fun game honestly. It's a bejeweled clone but still, there's nothing wrong with bejeweled.
