i know we're not friends n all that but i've really enjoyed your company for the past 8-10 years or so. its really nice to have a bunch of people that i can speak my mind to and call faggots on a daily basis. this is really a home away from home for me thanks for being here
Love you too you faggot nigger. <3
Kill yourself.

>>5528 I do understand what you mean. It's an interesting kind of connection that you have with people anonymously. There are shared things that draw us here, aside from the mentally ill freaks that come here just to try to ruin the site. Maybe we're just a different kind of mentally ill freak, but that's why it's nice to find a place with people who understand. But be careful. Don't get too nice. /co/ used to say "/co/ is love," like a tagline. Look where that got them. Invaded by tumblrites that spread to ruin the rest of 4chan, and some of them even remained to follow us all the way to this site, for some reason. Way back in the day /co/ used to even have Christmas sharing threads where people bought and sent each other Christmas presents, even physical ones, not just the Steam sharing threads like you'd see on /v/. It was nice. But they were too nice. Now I'm bitter and jaded and realize that /a/'s tight gatekeeping was a much better idea. Unfortunately measures of defense must be taken, and thus we are not able to be the lighthearted people we'd like to be. I suppose ultimately that's just a lesson about the world in general, both on a macro scale of nations, and a micro scale of an individual man's heart. But ultimately that's something I think people here understand more than most others, and it's why I appreciate the place. We'll argue and call each other niggerfaggots all day, but ultimately there's a level of shared understanding, and since we keep coming back here, evidently affection. Except for the mentally ill freaks that come here just to ruin it. But they can't ruin everything, as 15 years of their trying has shown. We're still here.

>>5605 A very similar infiltration got uncovered earlier this year, but in this case it was a software project (XZ Utils) and the infiltrator was actively malicious. It was a multi-year effort to get the project maintainer to get a backdoor into the codebase by essentially using social manipulation tactics against him. This was successful especially because the maintainer was limp-wristed and caved in to their repeated demands. It was pretty similar to how an email scammer tries to hurry you up and make you send your money. That's why we need more hardasses and less nice people running public procjects.
