Compare this finisher on Kizaru with something he drew back on Drum Island. >>61661 I like it, Kizaru feels more like he has control of the light element now when back then there were animation limits that are not possible now, well atleast not compared to the budget back then what I had a problem with was Gear 5 being wonky and some sound effects, also the zoro wank was blatant like cutting his huffing but otherwise it was a solid episode

Mine would be Marineford, I never really realized how stiff and static all the battles felt until the OP Fan Letter, just showing the average jobber Marine just struggling to survive let alone do anything of value really made it feel more realistic and I’d love to see the entire arc done in a similar gritty and melodramatic style.

At worst, it feels like pointless flexing on the animators part when I just want them to fucking get on with it; I wouldn't mind the sakuga if they actually paced it appropriately. Is it better than the usual tricks the anime does to stretch out an episode? I guess, but its still the same pacing problem anyway.
