AiPri - Aikatsu and Pretty Series Anonymous 04/19/2025 (Sat) 19:43:56 Id: 20d60d No. 27627
OHAMII TELLMII WELCOMII Welcome to MiiChannel! Hello PriFriends, what would you do if you caught your girlfriend singing a duet with another girl?
a new thread i sure wonder what my new id color will be hopefully a nice color
Stop making these threads, modern /ai/ shows are trash since prichan and since mewkldreamy w shat the bed
lets see
>green >again
>>27647 You can’t hide your true colors, ainon…
>>27645 how did you know wtf
>>27667 i was feeling a little extra retarded today pink vibes

>>27627 Turn the other girl into a card using my lightning darkness powers, probably.
it's always nice we get to experience a live and a new episode on the same day life can't get better than this

>>27925 how could this happen to me
Subaru being in the next live means he'll really have a performance. But will he also get added to the arcade? Dress up and all? Seems a bit implausible, considering they'd have to remodel every outfit just for one character right? Also, everyone expected the oniichans to debut, it's funny how things went. Wonder what plans the production has for them (if any).
>>27888 honestly, after the dual screening with KinPri, none of those would surprise me. if the kids can handle Shine than i guess anything goes
>>27803 like kanon.
>>27952 oniichans will make a >boy unit with subaru in s3 i can feel it
>>27952 Got to wait for the next arcade update, they could add fully customizable M-Types or he could be limited like WITH is in one of the console game.
>>27989 Oh you're right I forgot what they did with WITH (and Hiro I think?) in some game.

excited for the school cleaning match episode i like the one in s1 and this one seems like it will be fun too my guess is that juria and eru will be constantly fighting over what to do next, which will work against their team. by the end they realize they must put aside their differences and work together if they want to win

I've been watching AiPri S2 in the background after Princession finishes airing on TV Tokyo for the past three weeks, and I kind of like what I am seeing. I want to continue watching AiPri S2 for the cute girls and Subaru while skipping a year worth of content, bad or retarded idea?

>>32596 It should be a nice experiment. I don't see why not, but I would like you to report us you experience at times. So go on.
>>32596 Aipri S1 isn't a great season overall and also it's really slow, but also you'd obviously be missing some stuff if you skip it. So maybe watch only the episodes with plot importance and the ones which were particularly good.
>>32662 GODDAMN Sasuga K*reans

>>32703 Tsumugi*
>>32596 Just go for it and watch it all, it'll be over before you realize it
the IDs make the samefagging look much funnier, i like them
>>32743 Funny thing to say. At the current moment, Princession is still feeling like a background noise to me. Maybe I'm just too old and accustomed with how things are running in there. I'm just watching for the songs and legs.
>>32672 >but I would like you to report us your experience at times. Sure. I won't be posting about AiPri regularly here as it would be rude, but I can do that. >>32679 >you'd obviously be missing some stuff if you skip it. Yes of course. I can't catch-up with a 50 episodes anime right now, so if I feel absolutely lost I'll try your suggestion. >>32761 I've started watching/reading too many things, it's not reasonable.
>>32743 I get what you mean, I watch the Precure > Princession combo but then my interest takes a hit when AiPri begins. It's not as funny as Kimi to Idol or seems to have plot direction/possibilities that hooks you like PO. It's kinda Mewkledreamy S1-tier if I'm being honest.
>>32795 Imagine my shock that the 3 cultists left here recoil from a show with actual passion. Oh wait. It’s not surprising at all.
>seeking out an entirely different website to find the same community >IP hopping to pretend to be different people >to post the same AiPri bad copy pastas Take a moment to reflect on how sad you are.
>>32858 That’s disrespectful to Mewkledreamy S1. Which was a consistently good show beloved by /ai/, unlike AiPri. I would agree if you said it was Mix-tier. That’s an apt comparison.
(90.84 KB 1280x720 DIkPqbnUwAEzEQt.jpeg)

>>32869 The passion project is Symphogear though. Princession is just a weird project the creator is doing while he can't do more Symphogear. What kind of love is this you pick your wife and make her sing your ex favorite song during sex? It's just embarrassing. Fujisaku truly loves AiPri though and is doing stuff as a fan. It's just unfortunate everyone else at OLM is not in the same wavelength though.
>>32944 >It's just unfortunate everyone else at OLM is not in the same wavelength though what do you mean?
>>32790 it doesnt feel that different here imo since mental illness samefagging is nothing new for ainon to deal with, but its kind of insane seeing other threads/boards go absolutely berserk over IDs, kinda nuts the lengths some dudes will go to
>>32944 Staff having one thing they do really well and transferring said concepts to future shows is actually quite common. You could literally recommend different works of the same mangaka/VN/LN/anime directors because of the principle "if you liked X's previous work, try his next one because it has things in common!". You don't need to reinvent the wheel every time, hell, Pretty series knows this maybe too well. What I like about PO is that despite not being groundbreaking, it IS an unique mix of ideas (fighting while singing from Symphogear with the vibe of a Precure season) and on top of that it feels more like an older show from the early 2010s, which stands out in the current landscape too. Maybe it's not the best thing since sliced bread, but I like the bread.
>>32944 >It's just unfortunate everyone else at OLM is not in the same wavelength though. Comments from Gigaemon, the prop designer >>29687, and others say otherwise. What is true is that OLM is inexperienced at producing a show like this which is why S1's credits are littered with Hishida, Otobe, and other TatsunokoPro people that were clearly there to help out.
>>33003 it's always been very easy to spot so that doesn't really change, but it does look a bit funnier also that thread looks insane
(173.72 KB 280x359 image-65.png)

>>32975 Just a personal opinion. But AiPri has 2 directors, Fujisaku with story and Yamaguchi with art. I don't think Yamaguchi is doing a good job most of timed and Gigaemon, altogether other writers feels like they're writing Pokemon episodes, not Pretty. I personally think Fuji knows precisely how to do it well but stuff at studio is holding him back at times. Funnily enough, Beyblade X is being written like an improved Pretty Series. That guy is truly doing what he couldn't with Prichan in there. >Staff having one thing they do really well and transferring said concepts to future shows is actually quite common. One thing us transferring its concepts, which is natural because this is an artistic outcome, other is babbling about Symphogear in any opportunity possible during Princession promotion. Making VAs talk about Symphogear during interviews and encourage people to engage with Symphogear during the show. It's just too clear his mind has only Symphogear in it. This feels all but passionate for Princession.
(1.24 MB 1600x1841 1743223689517927.jpg)

>>33076 Don't take this as I'm saying Princession is being bad though. I think they're doing okayish for now. It's just being hard for me to engage well when there's nothing that really interested me for now.

>>33076 What is the difference between "being passionate about Pretty" and "being passionate about symphogear"? The're both franchises that existed for a similar time (2011 both for AD and Symphogear S1), it's just that Pretty had multiple iterations while Symphogear was a single continuous line. I think the Symphogear talk has to do with "fighting while singing" being tricky to execute, especially in a year-long show now, it's a thing taking a lot of real state in the staff's brain and time, so comparisons are inevitable because it quite literally doesn't exist outside of Symphogear and Revue Starlight. >>33099 Got you.
(154.17 KB 397x721 128938510_p4_master1200~2.jpg)

>>33182 >What is the difference between "being passionate about Pretty" and "being passionate about symphogear"? That's actually a good question. Like, why don't they just call it Phonic Series or something? My point though is that Sympho creator just doesn't feel that interested in his new creation at all. The characters get to shine far stronger too. >I wonder if this is a OLM thing Aipri is being written in a way closer from Pokemon. Bey X is by Prichan's series compositor. It took a more slow approach at start because the amount of characters for a single season is already too big, and they wanted to let everyone well estabilished. Believe me. It's very rewarding. I'm just at ep 6 from S2, but it's becoming more and more of a soap opera, with mutiple characters having their own stuff going on.

>>33967 i don't find any of those shows to be slow to be honest, but maybe i'm just too used to it. imo the problem usually lies in the writing itself, regardless of how fast the plot seems to move. the one i dislike the most out of the current OLM lineup is pokekon. i watched 73 episodes and got stuck. i find it difficult to like most episodes and characters, and most drama feels lackluster (a common problem in pokemon to me), although there are a few that i like, mainly dot episodes and the episodes focused on the non-frido adults of the team early on. unfortunately they get sidelined very hard after the first season. also sango. beyblade x is better, it has more likeable and interesting characters, and their dramas are usually good (i really like what they did with takumi's character, who i thought would just be a generic bully villain at the start). though i don't like most of the final arc of s1, and i stopped by the beginning of s2 because i wasn't feeling it either. also multi. aipri is good.

>>34210 But she gave you consent though.
>>34171 You're not alone, the elevens have pretty commonly called AiPri fast paced. The topic came up again recently because of Princession, with some saying you can really see the contrast of slow vs fast when watching the shows back to back. Not that it matters, a good show is good regardless of how fast or slow it is and AiPri has been consistently enjoyable.
>>34196 >Pokemon HZ is just doing everything wrong that's it's personally amazing we still got to watch it. i really like the first two episodes of horizons unfortunately liko becomes an uninteresting character pretty quickly after that and never recovers. and i don't like roy at all.
>>34227 yeah, on the topic of aipri, one of the biggest problems of s1 to me was going too fast sometimes with some dramas. i think it would've been better if aismirin got two episodes for their drama instead of just one, for one.
(131.61 KB 540x1005 I seriously need help.png)

>>34227 The thing with AiPri is that it concludes fast. Too fast. Sometimes it takes long enough to build up and start a good arc, but later the development for the climax and conclusion is just not in there. And so things ends abruptly. Dark Dorks conclusion made me personally angry. But it also felt something that Pokemon just did immediately later at the end of Rakua arc. Pretty much what I mean when it's written like Pokemon. >>34232 >i really like the first two episodes of horizons There's a whole leaked story about how HZ production became a clusterfuck due to decisions from director, but that's not a thing for this thread. But basically, different from other OLM series, they don't have a series composition and are writing the episodes based on real time feedback from audience. You can imagine the clusterfuck it became. >>34248 >i think it would've been better if aismirin got two episodes Sakura and Tamaki got the worst of it. Remember that episode on the first cour where Sakura got lack of confidence against Himari when we didn't really know anything about her? It was like a conclusion of an arc we never got to see. Weird as hell. Secret Friends and Chii got the best of screentime they got (more or less). But even so, the way it concluded itself was anticlimatic. But look at that Tsumugi flashback before dying as another example. They just couldn't find good scenes to fit in because she had no screentime between arcs at all.
also i think princession feels slower because of the endless infodump whenever they aren't fighting. it doesn't even feel like a kids' show in that regard. i wonder how many little girls also felt incredibly bored watching that. i was willing to give it a pass for the first two episodes, but being on the third episode and having half of it be entirely exposition is just too much imo. i think aipri deals with it much better. instead of explaining what is the aipriverse or what the hell is an aipri birthday on the first episodes, they just let us understand it by ourselves as the show naturally progresses.
>>33880 maybe she got one too if prichan involved transformation, but who knows
>>34171 Well to be fair, I'm probably not in the position to judge Beyblade X because it's the first Beyblade entry I have tried, so it could be that I'm just not into the format enough. The beybattles did start feeling kinda boring quite early. It's possible that I'm simply not that interested in little round pieces spinning and clashing in a big bowl as the main dish of the show. About Aipri though, I think it really is quite damn slow. Because I have watched other pretty entries so I have something to compare it to. Watching the other series, particularly early Pripara, and Rainbow Live and Primagi which seem to be directed at an older age range and seem more sophisticated (haven't watched AD and DMF so can't talk about them), I always felt like things were happening. It was entertaining and made me want to watch more. Meanwhile, watching Aipri it's like, they are mostly just standing around and talking. Or Himari seems upset and just stays quiet, Mitsuki encourages her, Himari seems unsure and confusedly repeats a sentence she heard and then stares into the void while the mysterious music plays, the dorks or the oniichans deliver some lines of advice or encouragement, the same animation of the three judges plays... in the end it doesn't feel rewarding most of the time because the plot is just so basic, usually a whole episode concentrates on a very basic dilemma of one character. It doesn't help that almost everything happens inside the school which makes it feel like we're confined in there. Aipri is still higher than Prichan for me because I could never become attached to its characters, and I do appreciate certain aspects of it like some designs, Chii and Tsumugi, but it certainly isn't that interesting or engaging. It has the advantage of recency bias right now though, especially because of the break after Primagi.
bunnies boing WITH MEH
i feel bad that i just kinda cant get into aipri but also have nothing else to do so i just sionpost or post about how sad i am or whatever dunno, just not really into it, even when i watch it with a friend it's just alright to me, i really wish i enjoyed it more because it would probably help me feel better by giving me something to enjoy lol
>>34297 >it doesn't even feel like a kids' show in that regard. i wonder how many little girls also felt incredibly bored watching that. it's funny because the writer said in an interview that he wants to write something that's exciting for the big friends because he thinks that little girls will find that exciting too and then it's 90% lore infodumps >i think aipri deals with it much better. ok let's not go that far, aipri is just boring shit with no substance 99% of the time
>>34409 i don't really care for the beyblade battles themselves either, but the characters make them worth it. though yeah, the parts i like the least are the ones more focused on back-to-back battles that don't mean much. but i heavily disagree on aipri. i think you're being too reductive of it. there are a few boring episodes, but in most of them there are interesting things happening. for example, all classmate episodes we got were pretty memorable (yuko, komachi, chamuchamu). these characters had fun dynamics going on and their drama was at the very least engaging. himari's personality of being a crybaby and scared of taking initiative is also highlighted well throughout these episodes, and you can slowly see her becoming more independent of mitsuki and taking initiative herself (and i'd say this slowness here is very important). also something being simple doesn't make it bad.
>>34515 >your opinion is le wrong because... the shitty IP detection system decided to give you a different ID Yeah this whole (((anonymous))) system is working swell here huh? Why not just have usernames?

It's far from nothing were happening. It's how it's delivered to observers.

>>34502 Could always try seasons you haven't tried yet or different older franchises. I was obsessed with japanese kid's shows for like 5 years, watched almost everything (Aikatsu, Pretty, Precure, Doremi, Sakura, Kamen Rider, Digimon, etc) and there's maybe a point where you have to find something new to chase that high, my new obessesion ended up being Tabletop RPGs and Visual Novels (btw thanks ainon for the Pripara trpg upload, I think I saw you in /tg/ before everything went down).
>>34590 Aipri also has the amazing ability of presenting interesting concepts like the dark idols and then doing absolutely nothing with them. The dark student council did nothing and the "emotional conclusion" of Chii's arc with Dark Chii was a complete wet fart. And the amount of recap episodes where they just played the same multiple lives again with minimal story or character developments my god. It's always been a thing in Pretty but Aipri really took it to the limit.
>>34540 i dont really know how to find new things. im stuck in a weird place where it's hard to get invested in new things because my brain sucks and hyperfocuses but im also not very passionate about the old. it's actually more frustrating than anything >>34601 i think the last one i watched fully "invested" (ie with my friend with subs) was 12 but i was live watching a few episodes and following ainon reactions and other people's summaries/impressions. for the record i'm not really someone who cares about getting spoiled and if anything i like knowing the vague plotline of a series before i watch it i don't know how my friend feels about it in his own words but the fact that he hasn't reached out specifically to watch aipri when we talk most days speaks for itself considering when we watched other series in the past we'd talk about watching it constantly lol, we don't even talk about aipri after we're finished >>34632 when it comes to pretty i wasn't really enjoying prichan (just couldn't get into it) but i do want to watch pretty rhythm, i was doing it very slowly for a while but >friend stuff lol i'm not a very collected person so it would be pretty hard to post my thoughts on /ai/ while i watched other than "i like this" as opposed to discussing with my friends between episodes etc, i'm very bad at retaining information too like i said at the beginning of the post i just don't really know how to get into anything new, even when i do find something nothing really sparks interest, i just feel very empty about pretty much everything i dunno, i'm just using ainons as therapists at this point
GEH!
>>34673 >i dont really know how to find new things this is a tough one since you recognize that youre not super enthusiastic about trying stuff out. since you already engage in your current hobbies (ie, watching shows) with your friends, maybe see if theres anything you can do as an activity with them? social activities can be a great motivator, and trying something new with a friend can be a great way to force yourself to try something you might not necessarily want to do on your own >last one i watched ... was 12 imo, that slice from 10-16 is very emblematic of the rest of the series, thats where you first get the main themes, character conflicts, and relationship drama that the rest of the series focuses on. if youre not really feeling it during that, then hey, youve given it way more than a fair shake, you shouldnt force yourself to keep watching something youre not enjoying. >but i do want to watch pretty rhythm bit of a shame you cant! maybe you could nicely ask your friend when they would have some spare time to get back to it, since thats something that youre actually motivated to do >it would be pretty hard to post my thoughts on /ai/ while i watched other than "i like this" thats a perfectly acceptable level of discourse, frankly >ainons as therapists not the best idea tbh
>>34511 Of course there are some decent episodes here and there as well, but they are quite rare. As an example, I watched a couple of the episodes with new performances with a friend who was interested in the lives. The Himari-Mistuki duo ep and the quartet 4 team up ep. Both were so devoid of content it made me embarrassed. >himari's personality of being a crybaby and scared of taking initiative is also highlighted well throughout these episodes, and you can slowly see her becoming more independent of mitsuki and taking initiative herself (and i'd say this slowness here is very important). That's a good point but well, it still means it IS slow. And I don't think the payoff is worth it. >>34590 >Like, in Pripara we see things like someone inside it, and in AiPri we see things like someone who just got informed by phone. This is a good way to describe it. Aside from them most of the time simply talking, it's also a big gripe for me that the performances can't be seen live. Like, someone is gonna put on this super exciting live but everyone just sees a stream of it through the tiny screen of their phone while standing somewhere in the school. There's no feeling of liveliness and excitement as there was in Pripara, RL and Primagi where they actually stood in the venue and performed in front of people who watched things live as a big crowd. It's kind of lame. >>34646 >Aipri also has the amazing ability of presenting interesting concepts like the dark idols and then doing absolutely nothing with them. In the first episode, I thought it was a pretty interesting plot that Himari was Mii's fan while not knowing she is Mitsuki. But then at the end of the episode she found out and then... absolutely nothing happened. Not even a proper display of surprise. Them not knowing how to handle their ideas has been a recurrent issue since the beginning. And yeah I too was really angry when the dark dorks (who had no prior build up and didn't even have a bit of a different design) overshadowed dark Chii, who had been built up since the very beginning. I think it might have been pressure from the arcade side to shill the (not even) color swapped playable characters.
>>34673 >likes pripara >wasn't really enjoying prichan >quite enjoyed primagi >isn't really enjoying aipri Your preferences are so similar to mine! The only difference is that I like primaji more than pripara. If it's any indication, you'd probably quite like RL too if you try it.
>>34807 there's not much else i can do with my friends aside from play games because it's the internet lol, even the ones i can/do meet up with there isn't much to do except kinda loiter or book something for a few hours (bowling and minigolf are something we do) but it's pretty hard to get more people together, especially when it comes to me because i'm pretty much entirely dependent on my boyfriend to go anywhere but he's only here a few weeks out of the year. plus the main(?) friend of that group is basically the only one i can meet conveniently because of distance but they have a lot more freedom so they can go meet anyone else whenever their schedule allows for it. i rambled a lot in that part but hopefully it still makes sense i don't think i'll try to watch pretty rhythm again with that friend because right now they do an anime rotation thing with 2 other people and i don't want to add a fourth anime to watch especially since i think only one of them is interested in pretty rhythm. maybe after i'm done with idol time with my boyfriend i'll watch it with him, i think he'll be into it well, ainons are better at listening to me than actual mental health professionals >>34854 oh i do really want to watch RL (pretty rhythm as a whole as i said), i heard it isn't directly connected to AD/DMF? i might start it on my own if that's the case
>>34899 >i heard it isn't directly connected to AD/DMF There's some easter egg references to them just like the ones in Pripara and Primagi but nothing plot relevant.
>>34899 yeah its hard being limited by transportation, thats a relatable problem. nothing you can do about that, no real easy fix. >do an anime rotation thing with 2 other people sounds horrible to me, i hate not watching things sequentially. even watching seasonal stuff as it airs annoys me a little bit >RL like ainon >>34924 pointed out, youll miss some references (honestly youll probably recognize them anyways just from some baseline familiarity with the casts from being here for so long), but its perfectly standalone, you should def check it out >ainons are better than actual mental health professionals easily one of the most damning sentences about society ever uttered
(61.94 KB 854x480 Forgot his name.jpg)

>>34924 i guess ill look into it in a bit, maybe tomorrow, will let ainons know. thanks for confirming >>34996 yeah transportation and other issues and just not having anything to do makes it super difficult and not really worth it, like if i want to go visit without spending a ridiculous amount of money on a train (inflated because it goes through london lol) i have to take buses for 2 hours on the way there and both times i did that the bus taking us back just never showed up. public transport is fucking dumb the anime rotation is kind of fun for short series but they're watching long ones right now so it's just a pain in my opinion. not sure why they can't stick to one series at a time or at least not change anime every episode, i understand taking breaks but they'll do episode by episode rotations of 3 completely different things for hours and days on end, can't keep up with it personally
>>34814 >And yeah I too was really angry when the dark dorks (who had no prior build up and didn't even have a bit of a different design) overshadowed dark Chii, who had been built up since the very beginning. Dark dorks not even displaying the unhinged versions of their personality quirks of their normal selves like with dark Chii was dumb, they just appeared to zap people and sing their song which was exactly the same song as with the normal dorks without even the lyrics change like with dark Chii. They felt like a real hasty last minute addition. There were some alright episodic episodes with the classmates but overall it was like DMF without the well done final arc.
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=145724 Why did they give a Pretty series season to the Punirunes guy anyway? This anime production list is so anemic.

>>34899 >ainons are better at listening to me than actual mental health professionals Nothing beats having a good friend to listen you. Mental health professionals are going to do what are in their scoop of abilities, but they're trained to be professionally distant and to not get too involved, according my psychiatric sister. The exercise of improvement comes from inside your circle first, at the root. That's where friendship power comes in!
>>35138 Just what it says on the tin, at least dark Chii had a minor lyrics change to Chii's song to reflect her personality, the dark student council didn't even get that smallest thing. They've generated a lot of good fan art but it's pretty bad when most of the characters' personality comes from fan works and not the show itself.
>>35095 >exactly the same song as with the normal dorks you should check out new star joker, it's pretty good aipri is good too, you should watch it

>>35217 The Dark dorks got a completely new song though. I don't understand what you're talking about. Did you just not took enough attention?
>>35242 >>35247 I actually remembered after posting that they did have a different song but it was so samey to their normal one that it might as well have been the same song lol, there was nothing dark or negative about it, the normal student council could've sung it and it would've made no difference
>>35068 whenever i have to go somewhere with actual stuff i have to take like a 4 hour long bus trip (+4 to return) at the very least (no trains) so i can relate i'm used to it already though, i don't even feel the distance anymore. kinda funny and the buses never failed to show up so i guess nothing to complain on that front
>>35288 Don’t worry, I also forgot about it. The final arc was so bad and the song was so samey sounding that I completely forgot about it.
>>35263 Can you really blame me? Aipri started having so many song recap episodes that I actually started skipping songs and I've never done that with any Pretty series before. There were too many episodes where they just played the songs with no interesting character interactions or plot developments so when the dark dorks got their song I instinctively thought it was the same as the old one and nearly skipped it. Doesn't help that most of the student council's songs sucked too except for Never Give Rubber.

I have a question that might seem stupid but whatever, I'm gonna ask it. Where do the big bouquets that are always shown in photos at the pretty lives come from?
>>35346 To be frank it just makes it terribly more embarrassing. The recaps are there to make sure you won't forget them. You start skipping and forget them. Come on, Ainon! It's like you're defending the recaps without even realizing it!
>>35387 Usually sent and paid for by seiyuu fans, talent agencies, or sponsors. It's a service that some flower shops have.
>>35387 flower shops, they give the posters and other stuff on them to the shops and have them incorporated into the final bouquet design before theyre delivered as these big bouquets are expensive theyre generally each done by a group of fans/friends or something like that
>>35392 The older Pretty series were content with having the multi-song recap episode once per cour, Aipri had them multiple times since the 2nd cour and the song quality or variation wasn't high enough to warrant it. It was just a bad budget saving move in a franchise that already cuts corners in pretty much everything.
>>35385 Dude I also didn't enjoy Aipri that much so far and as you can see I have also expressed criticism about it ITT but why do you need to be like this about it? Just stop holding a grudge, mass replying, going overboard and being toxic. Constructive discussion cannot happen with your attitude. >>35413 >>35399 So as I understand they can be both from the companies and fans. So a character getting one of them doesn't directly indicate much about their popularity, I see. Thanks for the answer.
Anyone that calls song collection episodes recaps is just telling everyone they’re a retard that doesn’t pay attention.
>>35459 Good point. There’s a clear difference between how low budget Aipri is and the previous shows.
>>35465 i haven't seen any pretty flower stands from companies but i also don't follow every one, it's more an indication of the passion of the fans in question because of the pricing and effort imo, especially the ones that are only sent by one person i know at one live taichi got a nino stand from her mother and sister

>>35487 if i think harder there might've been a few from agencies at some lives? not sure here's the taichi one, it has her mycharas too she seems to have a really good relationship with her sister it's super cute
>>35459 Don't put the blame on your skill issue on Aipri. The fact of you being unable to remember it is by your own fault by skipping only, and that's okay. You're just not interested. >>35470 AiPri budget should be a bit bigger than average though. OLM is just this incompetent with their CG. And they implemented a weird schedule of skipping a week or doing a recap for their long animes (Bey X being an exception). If anything, you should be realizing just now how low budget Pretty always was, and the studio change is weirding you out, naturally. The song production is entirely to do with Avex though, but i think they are a general improvement over Prichan and Primagi in how they fits much better in narrative. Very akin to Pripara.
soon, at the next pripara x aipri live
>>35605 MAJI!?
MAGI!?
>>35547 That's really cute >>35556 It's pretty obvious that Aipri has a lower budget compared to Primagi. The designs are drastically simplified, the number of OPs reduced, setting locations simplified, less songs, and animation that is sometimes bad even by pretty standards. What I think actually happened is that after getting in trouble with the Corona/staff situation near the ends of Primagi, they decided to play it very safe for the next title and make it a managable project (remember, Primagi was the 10th anniversary special child but there's no such occasion for Aipri). The sad part is that now that Aipri's arcades have been successful, they might never decide to put more effort into future titles. Is a return to Tatsupro impossible? I hope not. >The song production is entirely to do with Avex though, but i think they are a general improvement over Prichan and Primagi in how they fits much better in narrative. I guess that's a subjective matter but I def can't see Aipri's song collection as an improvement over Primagi. I think Himari, Mitsuki and Chii's songs are good but the others aren't anything special. The songs with Sakura in them all sound very similar and also many songs keep taking weird turns multiple times in a weird way and also there are several songs that sound just like the usual bubbly kid's song like the Himi song, the Himitsu song and NGL. Meanwhile in Primagi every character had a song with a very unique theme based on their character and in the duo arc the songs were a mix of both performers's styles, it was pretty cool. Again this is pretty subjective but based on song budget, Aipri def doesn't seem superior.
>>35747 >Primagi was the 10th anniversary special child That was Mirai's show, which is why Primadonna Memorial is there. What was said about Primagi was that it was laying the groundwork for the next 10 years of Pretty or something to that effect (I forget if it was SatoJun or OhbaP who said it in one of the early interviews for the show).

to me aipri is boring but I watch it anyway because I like some of the characters
>>35788 Not sure what you mean with Mirai's show. It's pretty obvious that with Prichan, they were dragging out with Pripara's arcades and style, until they'd do their next major thing for the 10th anniversary. Primagi had new arcades and all, and the promotional stuff like the huge audition for Auru's VA were all marked under the 10th anniversary project.
>>35828 >2020年にシリーズ10周年を迎える「プリティー」シリーズの新作アニメーション『キラッとプリ☆チャン』(2018年4月より放送中)より、 I can't find the exact quote or interview so this is just from the episode summaries, but Prichan was referred to as part of the 10th anniversary celebration. >>35747 >It's pretty obvious that Aipri has a lower budget compared to Primagi. The designs are drastically simplified I'm just thinking that you have no idea about what a higher budget is at all. Having a simplified design is a standard for an anime production. When it's too complex, as in case of Primagi, it turns out to be inconsistent or just become unsustaintable. Most of times a signal of bad direction. Primagi designs are interesting for arcade and probably a VN, but animating it turned out to be horrendous. I still remember saying it first time I saw them back years ago. How many live songs AiPri had >less songs How many live songs did primagi have again? I remember Pripara and Prichan well, but count it to us just to check if you're not saying any bullshit again, because after you affirmed New Star Joker and Perfect Star are the same songs, I just can't have any faith you arguing makes sense at all. >setting locations simplified That's true. Specially the outside. >and animation that is sometimes bad even by pretty standards It made me laugh. I will come back and make a compilation, but I quickly got these from what I have saved for starters. ... don't take me badly by the way. I kinda miss when Pretty had QUALITY moments. AiPri is just so consistent that we're not allowed to have those anymore.
>>35876 Pretty always was a QUALITY franchise (with a production values bump around RL and Pripara S1) but at least it had impactful storyboards and SFXs. Now it's QUALITY but kinda flat direction-wise too.
>>35873 Let me try to put it simpler. Prichan started way before the 10th anniversary, reused the pripara arcades and very clearly wasn't trying to stand out as anything special. Primagi was the first new title which came out shortly after the 10th anniversary, got new arcades and a new makeover in many aspects. Prichan getting interviews and such is obviously because it was the pretty title still going on when the 10th anniversary happened, but obviously that doesn't make it the anniversary title.
>>36033 You should watch Prichan, it is quite good.
>>34268 sauce pls
aipri is definitely low budget, we get to see no or only few other idols or students besides main characters, not to mention shit quality 3d live
>>35876 >Having a simplified design is a standard for an anime production. By your assumption, since Aipri has simpler designs it should have gotten improved animation, which it didn't. So that can't be true. Simpler designs + bad animation < more detailed designs + bad animation > count it to us just to check if you're not saying any bullshit again, because after you affirmed New Star Joker and Perfect Star are the same songs, I just can't have any faith you arguing makes sense at all. I never said such a thing you're mistaking me with the spammer. Aipri: 1)Himari1, 2)Himari2, 3)Mitsuki, 4)Tsumugi1, 5)Tsumugi2, 6)Chii, 7)Aismirin, 8)RubyLazu, 9)Himari/Mitsuki, 10)SecretFriends, 11)Quartet, 12)Dark Quartet Primagi: 1)Matsuri, 2)Hina, 3)Miruki, 4)Lemon, 5)Amane, 6)Auru, 7)Jennifer1, 8)Jennifer2, 9)What's your please magic, 10)truth, 11)Matsuri/Auru, 12)Hina/Amane, 13)Lemon/Miruki >It made me laugh. I will come back and make a compilation, but I quickly got these from what I have saved for starters. It's very telling that two of your three examples are from the final parts were it is known the production was suffering. I can find a bunch too if I search Aipri eps. Also in Aipri they're mostly just standing around talking so it's hard to go too wrong with it. In primagi they were doing things like parkour in Hina's school. Also sorry that I'm being this argumentative I really like Primagi and I miss it.

>>36125 >By your assumption, since Aipri has simpler designs it should have gotten improved animation It became far more consistent. But it's still too far from Prichan from animation standpoint for example. Primagi was just terrible in both aspects. But their decision worked with their intent. >I never said such a thing you're mistaking me with the spammer. Fuck. You're right. I'm sorry! I thought I checked correctly and misread. >Song count. Ainon, it's just one more song of difference. Not worthy even putting in as an argument. >I can find a bunch too if I search Aipri eps. Also in Aipri they're mostly just standing around talking so it's hard to go too wrong with it. Aipri has almost none of these, for them going tooooooo consistently safe as you said yourself. Anyway, image related is one of these, where they couldn't do the cleaning of layout. But this is going off topic about the budget itself. I think you want to talk more about the direction of the shows than budget, because everything we're talking about is not quantitative but qualitative (OLM being incompetent with CG, outside backgrounds sucking, etc). No amount of budget will really fix it. >Also sorry that I'm being this argumentative I really like Primagi and I miss it. I too wanted a S2 so bad. The human form manamanas felt like a punishment for a thing we will never have! I hate Fumi writing with my entire being, but the characters had potential for more. Much more. I wanted to see it completing 3 years too. >>36134 Seriously. We need to make a compilation. I'm just too lazy to check what episodes had the best ones yet. >>36098 The original art was deleted but the artist is https://x.com/tuduraorizaka. Why the hell did I became obsessed with Sharo out of nowhere? >>35939 >Now it's QUALITY but kinda flat direction-wise too. It's not QUALITY. But like, Aipri always felt to me like a Visual Novel. >>44501 the Mel is super cool
>>44458 I mean, like digital. it's almost impossible to buy anything in Melonbook outside of Japan anyway. I just wish artists would upload everything to the same damn website.

>>44576 >it's almost impossible to buy anything in Melonbook outside of Japan anyway. what do you mean? i bought an artbook from there once with no problems is there trouble with doujin specifically?
(1.38 MB 1917x1079 himari channel.png)

Himari no Hi!!! Welcome to Himari Channel. Did you know? Masturbation offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being. It can reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance mood by releasing endorphins, which are natural pain relievers and mood boosters. Have you been masturbating regularly? Is there something you've been masturbating with more frequency than others? Mitsuki-chan said me she's doing that for me a lot. For me, huh... Mugi-chan helps me out at times. So I can't help but think on Tsumugi-chan! What about you? Don't foget to comment. Bye bye
>>44576 Yeah, the SMS requirement really is a killer. You can physical copies from there with proxies, but if you're looking only for digital purchases then you're out of luck. Real shame.

>>44588 some proxies/address forwarders wont do r18 and some countries have import issues i think the uk has a hateboner for r18 doujinshi or so i heard which is why im glad i dont like any of the r18 sion doujinshi that ive seen because i wouldn't be able to handle the deep emotional pain of not owning it
>>44596 himari wouldn't say that

>>44610 She learned a lot of new things last year! Have a bit of faith on her for once. ... also the Kurogane Kenn doujin convinced me enough.
>>44588 Melonbook no longer accepts Visa/Mastercard cards. They also don't accept any payment methods other than paying in japanese stores
>>44576 >>44632 Wow I wasn't aware it was that difficult to buy things from them now! The payment processor crackdowns are so scummy, that's the worst. I ran into that crap on DLsite last year, it's so frustrating.
>>44632 looks like the proxy i used still has support for melonbooks, but i just checked and yeah it doesn't allow r18 articles. >>44606 i don't think i'd have any problems with my country, but no r18 doujin interests me also so whatever. didn't know uk blocked r18 doujin imports though, thought it was just australia. weird anglo things.
>>44712 im not sure how accurate it is but i just got told a long time ago (like years) not to bother trying to import r18 stuff to the uk i dont have any reason to anyway but i'd probably just get someone else to take it in if i had to the best lewd sion artist right now is korean anyway and we all know how well koreans and porn mix
>>44747 >i'd probably just get someone else to take it in if i had to shion porn smuggling is also idol activities
>>44768 everything is idol activities is you try hard enough. also this artist scares me i used to talk to her on her private account, she was drawing yaoi porn when she was like 10 or something or and now she has all sorts of slightly abnormal but tolerable fetishes (compared to old sion artists) but i still stopped using that account she does talk about brainwashing on her main account though so i shouldn't be surprised

>>44799 never meet your heroes...
>>44808 very true i don't like people who draw poyo harassing or being mean or otherwise detrimental to sion anyway which unfortunately is most people who draw poyo for more than 1 image except for like this one doujinshi. maybe there was one other where they were getting along but then meganee shot her so that kind of ruined the moment
>>44829 >but then meganee shot her SYSTEM DESU also a bit unrelated but i really dislike depictions of violence between/against our characters. i mean serious violence, not like amari-mario stuff where nobody is actually hurt, that's fun. drawing a character being mean is ok if the character can be mean sometimes, but drawings of them being physically hurt by another character or someone else just make me feel sad.
>>44888 it was a parody of a movie (that was a parody itself from what i understand) so it didn't really register as anything tbf but yeah i feel the same way, i just want to look at nice drawings and stuff
(162.91 KB 1266x1778 GYsosmYakAAzEhA.jpg)

>>44799 >also this artist scares me >all sorts of slightly abnormal but tolerable fetishes I know I checked before but I'm not scaring or annoying anyone in here right? I don't want to go too overboard. >>44632 How much does these doujin cost in terms of dollar? I can't help but imagine they are not cheap at all. >>44888 >but drawings of them being physically hurt by another character or someone else just make me feel sad. Naturally. We prefer our idles happy. Sometimes even orgasming from happiness! Making them sad is no good.
>>44912 yeah, i meant it as more of a sidenote. the way you described it, it sounds like a comedic scene you aren't supposed to take seriously, so that's whatever, it can be fun. when it's drawn as a serious thing to show the character being hurt is what i just don't like at all. i see those show up sometimes and it just gives me a bad feeling.
>>44915 no, you post normal horny things doujinshi are generally pretty cheap but if you're buying physical ones the third party fees can be a pain >>44943 definitely yeah i just wanted to clarify it was a parody, i'd scan it if my scanner wasnt garbage because scanning things is cool, and it's awkward because it's small but relatively thick. the jokes write themselves
(3.17 MB 3024x4032 PXL_20250422_191541861.jpg)

i don't think i spent more than 1500 yen on any individual doujinshi
>>44915 the books themselves are cheap, the problem imo is that if you want to buy many then the shipping can get expensive, because for books the weight adds up pretty quickly. though i guess you can try using sea shipping if you're patient. haven't done that but people say it gets much cheaper.
>>44401 sauce?
>>44888 >drawing a character being mean is ok if the character can be mean sometimes well that just begs asking, how does ainon feel about all the Rinne and Shine violence? personally i feel like thats even though its definitely in the realm of serious violence, since its an interaction that is (imo) fairly grounded in the source material its still a reasonable depiction of that relationship. just how i feel though, curious about ainon
>>45022 to tell you the truth i haven't watched RL yet so idk, forgive me
>>45026 completely fair! question shelved away for future ainon
>>45004 honestly unless you're buying an absolutely insane amount of doujinshi the weight doesn't add up that much, they're thin books after all i bought a few pripara-era pucchigumi issues (like 10-15) and that was 5500 yen via surface mail, plus there was someone (who i know lurked 4chan but i dont know if they made their way here, but if you did hi, please correct me if i'm wrong) who bought ~100 issues of ciao and i think that had to be split into 2 $300 shipments? i think? but ciao is a THICK magazine >>45022 butting in to say i feel like i've seen mostly comedic takes on it but as established sunday i've not seen RL either so my twitter algorithm hasn't been tuned to show me pretty rhythm stuff yet. there was a really funny one of them in the bath but i don't remember if i saved it i was holding off on watching RL until wednesday because i didn't have anything planned but it's half past 8 and today's Designated Person To Hang Out With is still asleep even though it's noon there... not that i have any place to judge i've stayed in bed until 7pm before without moving. maybe i'll watch the first ep while i wait, maybe the second because it'll probably take a while after he wakes up to get fully online... ;_;
>>44915 I see most doujins going for below ¥1000, with a good amount of them being on the lower side of that. If you didn't have to deal with shipping fees and proxy fees, it wouldn't be onerous at all to buy them en masse. It's certainly one reason to be jealous of the otaku who get to live there.
>>45022 I hate that artist, he did the Primagi comic, which was violent, and he also did his own original comic, and even in that, it's just women beating up women and nosebleeds. It's grim and creepy, and he draws well, but it's really off-putting. SHINE slamming Rinne's head down the toilet until it bleeds is not normal.
>>45048 i beg your forgiveness, but to use precure as an example to try to explain it better when the girls are attacked by a villain, it doesn't actually feel like they're really getting hurt. like, they do react when they are hit, but they don't really look like they're in pain, it doesn't actually feel like real violence somehow. but if you draw them in civilian form getting punched in the face by someone else, it simply feels completely different. especially when the character is drawn crying, visibly in pain, with a depressed look, or bleeding. idk if i managed to explain it well but this is how i feel
>>45083 >seen mostly comedic takes on it yeah thats generally what you do see, but there were a few artists that were into the whole DV aspect to the point of abuse. its not my cup of tea either, but its what comes to mind when talking about relationships in Pretty that are commonly drawn with physical violence >>45131 that 100% checks out that his original comic is that type of content, dude is nothing but enthusiastic about it
>>45160 i totally get what you mean, no worries! thats a very clear distinction there, thats a good way of illustrating your thoughts.
>>45135 Such good friends.
>>45160 there were some people (mostly one person) who drew sion getting abused like that especially combined with porn and it made me pretty sad luckily they seem to not draw pripara anymore
>>45083 >pripara-era pucchigumi do you have pic related? or some from around that time?
>>45257 i'll check, i'm assuming it's for the manga? i bought damaged ones hoping the pripara manga specifically wasn't damaged but some of them are lol, out of all the pages that could be damaged it's the pripara one
>>45257 I like to look at Laala's mouth.
>>45273 actually no, i'm asking because i've been looking for the otocadoll manga for a while the 3 chapters are supposed to be on pucchigumi october, november and december 2015, but i'm not 100% sure because information about this is very hard to find pripara manga is interesting too tho would be happy if you could check it for me
>>45083 the shipping ended up being 3 shipments that would've been $600 total for iirc 81 issues total of ciao there were coupons so it ended up $300 this was from buyee though and i don't know if they charge more or less on average for shipping than anywhere else

aipri setting book coming soon i wonder how the early designs were like
>>45981 it will reveal that himari was going to be a green
>>45981 Should be interesting Tsumugi’s VA said the Kansai dialect was part of Airi’s character when she auditioned for the role so I want to see how the concept first came about. But the PolPri book is coming out before that.
>>46007 taichi talked about dark chii initially being planned as not a separate character but as chii herself going evil due to jealousy of himari very curious to see that in detail
Ainons have a (merited) fear of greens, mermaids, horsy,Non!,Yucke after dark
(4.03 MB 1500x2118 unrelated pic.png)

>>45994 imagine having a green as the main character of an /ai/ show i can't imagine it even in my worst nightmares...
>>45946 Thanks man, I love seeing these >Kazuki was designed to be directed at boys >Kouji was designed to be like characters from otome games >Hiro was a middle ground and his design was modeled from Johnny's idols Too bad they ruined Kazuki in kinpri. He was this friendly helpful bro in RL but they went and forced him into a disgusting creature with all the cringy pink subtitled romance scenes. Actually, I'm kinda worried about the appearances of WITH, TrutH and Arrows in the next work. They're not going to turn these poor guys ooc and ruin them, right??
>>46029 >chii herself going evil due to jealousy of himari man thats bizarre to imagine, himari is suanikiepressed loser for 90% of the show its hard to imagine being jealous of her wonder if himari was supposed to win more throughout the whole show in the early plans or something like that
what the heck even was that one such a depressed loser c()had?
>>46094 lol >>46083 the first episode does give you the impression that himari is going to be a "natural genius" type character since she's the first to get buzzlume, but after that she seems to be pretty average, and even jobs hard 0-3 to dark quartet alongside mitsuki she does defeat ruby=lazuli in the end, but i assume tsumugi blanco and quartet star are still stronger than her if the original plan was indeed for himari to be an unbeatable genius, i'm glad they went for the fun route where himari is a crybaby and loses quite a few times and gets depressed, and that chii is jealous of tsumugi instead
>>46083 I like that ep where Himari spent the entire day stuck in her room, after ditching Tsumugi, depressed looking at her phone. Just for Mii to come back from school, look at her and say "Chii must be suffering right?"
himari will win this time
>>46121 well, chii lost her dear oneechan who died himari just >was severely ill and stuck on an island for who knows how much time as a child with absolutely no one to talk to besides a frog and a talking plushie huh, i wonder if this could have had any effects on himari's psychological development...
>>46116 one of the early interviews that ainon TLd, cant remember if it was a director or writer one, was that Himari was someone who had unprecedented early success but then had to struggle with not being able to achieve that again. it's an interesting premise, i def agree with you that i think i prefer what we got with chii and mugi over a this potential alternative. >>46121 the scene where Himari agrees to watch the Grand Prix with her classmates after she lost, and then immediately just walks out the door and ditches them to go lay in bed without saying anything just really sticks with me. its definitely a whole vibe
>reading yuri manga >suddenly Shion (literal) Funnily enough this is doing by the same mangaka who did a tokusatsu yuri manga before, despite this one being full-fantasy, the love interest of the MC uses a pseudo Kamen Rider belt to become her knight form.
>>46165 iirc that interview was focusing on that one episode himari got depressed after watching quartet=star perform the idea being she realized her early success feels insignificant compared to what the ones that stand on the top can accomplish, and that she might never be able to reach their level thinking of it now, it's funny how it's kinda similar to chii watching tsumugi blanco before going dark, but himari just gets depressed
>>46190 *that part of the interview *ruby=lazuli god
>>46190 my personal interpretation is that chii/himari parallels are intentional, the fact that they both have "fails to deal with defeat in a healthy manner" as a central personal conflict is an interesting narrative mirror between the two characters, and while each of them resolve that conflict in a different way, that core conflict for both of them is one of the primary vehicles for their character development throughout the season. you have plenty of other parallels too, like how mitsuki is a stabilizing influence on both of them, their relationship with tsumugi being the catalyst for their character conflicts in the second half, and like what you pointed out how their elation over buzzlume leads to further disappointment for both of them. just a lot of narrative and personal reflections between em, its pretty well done
>>45856 >>45946 Do these pictures not load for anyone else? Is it just the website struggling?
>>46286 Works for me on .moe, .se seems to be down.
>>46246 that's a nice way of looking at it, i hadn't thought of that before i like how the resolution they reach of how to deal with the pain of losing is quite different in the end, himari reaches the conclusion that what she loves in aipri doesn't have anything to do with winning or losing, but with having fun and enjoying it the most you can, and victory or defeat are just incidental (she prioritizes fun since the beginning, but at the same time she had this internal conflict that despite performing being fun, it still hurts a lot to lose) chii on the other hand wants to be number one, but as stated in an interview, she's just a normal girl surrounded by geniuses. she first learns that she doesn't have to be the absolute number one, it's enough to be the number one in someone else's heart. but even so, she still wants to stand on the top. realizing that there is an insurmountable wall she might never be able to overcome creates dark chii. but after facing dark chii, she decides that this too doesn't matter. she may lose over and over again, but it isn't over until she gives in to despair, and she vows that she won't. she has it set that she'll try to become number one until the very end, even if it means she just keeps losing.
>>46318 Interesting. .moe wasn't working for me until today, but today .se isn't working. Here's to hoping at least one stays up.
>>46339 yeah that difference in how they both reach different conclusions to the same central conflict is neat, it's a nice way to depict that similar emotional issues like that don't necessarily resolve the same way for everyone. both reach a conclusion thats fitting for their character development and what individual trials they had, and both are perfectly healthy approaches to that personal struggle. the chii and himari character development is my favorite part of aipri, in my opinion its the strongest part of the show. its good stuff!
>>46392 i was trying to find that screenshot of the classmates screaming "AiPri is so fun!" but didn't find it so imagine it and have cute mugi instead
aipri is a warm and kind world
>>45946 Akio Watanabe's character designs are so great. Aurora Dream's budget made his style less obvious, but it'd be nice if he did designs for more little girl anime.
>>46462 Both AD and Lady Jewelpet had some surprising character designers. While it doesn't happen with the big IPs anymore, Princession Orchestra does have the Bayonetta designer.
>>46462 i wish he'd do designs for any new show to be honest, really want to see more of him outside of monogatari and grisaia (and preferably for a show that doesn't suck hard). i've already watched most of his old stuff. btw it's funny how before AD he got to design dolls for a silly stop-motion kids' show (akiba-chan)
>>46068 >Too bad they ruined Kazuki in kinpri. He was this friendly helpful bro in RL but they went and forced him into a disgusting creature with all the cringy pink subtitled romance scenes. Taiga agrees with you.
>>46522 On the other hand, KinPri street battles are my favorite scenes.

Now that the excitement has passed and I've kinda skimmed/read through the thread I can finally sleep. I wonder, is everyone here /ai/ refugees? I was so desperate to let anyone know about my excitement about the announcement that I looked around all over and this seemed to be by far and wide the most active place. Admittedly, I've not gone searching for any alternatives/new places ever since the hack happened so I have no idea to where people have gone. This seems like the most active though? Even with that, I am kind of surprised and also kind of sad at how few people there are. I'm not sure if there's truly so few of us left and people have left through the years or it's just that it was always so few people in general. I suppose not everyone has come here too? I mean, I didn't until now after all so I'm sure there are others like me too. IDs really are a big ball of nothing, I barely paid any attention to them while going through the thread. Guess they don't matter if you're a normal person just posting normal and behaving like a proper human being. Maybe it's different on the actual fast boards here? No idea. It's so nice seeing all the Aikatsu ladies I follow on social media being all excited and happy about the movie too. Yet another moment where I curse not being born Japanese to be able to share moments like this with the community over there that remains ever active and passionate despite the years. No offense to /ai/ but it must be a very different experience, and ultimately, a better one. Lots of happy things this late/night morning. I hope my sleep can be just as happy.
>>48028 IDs filter only two group of people: actualy menhera spammers, and people obsessed with them. Ergo, the majority of the thread activity. Add to that it would be a surprise if even half of the /ainons/ took refugee here. A bit sad that Aikatsu x Pripara movie had to be announced just when western fandom disappears.
>>48001 >Literally people in the entire thread
>>47374 I thought old Mugino became a vocal doll after 4chan closed.
>>48028 Eh IDs dont really affect /ai/ because pretty much everyone knows everyone. There's barely any new tourist and probably the only significant interaction it has with other threads are with /pc/. Its unironically a Discord server (non-derogatory). Shonen anime threads on the other hand are different, seen a lot of strong reaction and pushback against IDs.
>>48035 I think nearly all current regulars are here actually. It feels just as active as back on 4chan, with the difference that this makes /ai/ one of the fastest threads in the board now.

Just saw Puri assuming she won. But... What if they show big Laala in the movie, when she steps outside at the end? Like a nice plot twist or something? Now I need to rush though the rest of Aikatsu. Fuck. I will organize my friends and force them to watch S2 with me soon.

>>48091 >Funny enough I also stopped after S1. I remember having stopped Aikatsu a bit past episode 50. Maybe I've watched too much at once and lost appetite for more. When I see Akari in the Aikatsu x Pripara movie teaser, I'm just seeing a part of Aikatsu I know nothing about. Maybe I'll try and catch-up for next year.
>>48193 I don't know how much of an unpoular opinion this is here, but to me I think it's because I liked the first half much more than the second one. It had a sort of special feeling that I feel it loses at the second half. Also I just didn't like the newly introduced characters (Sakura and Kaede).
Akari gen songs are very good though, arguably better than earlier songs. Tutu Ballerina is Akari gen song after all

On the initial hack, activity was split between here and /ghost/, but it appears like most of the /ghost/ posters have either come here or disappeared. shamiko does have a few posters that clearly are/were ainons, but that site is more akin to a pseudo-IRC channel than an imageboard with dedicated delineated topics. smugloli does have a primagi thread up serving as a catch-all thread, but similar to this site's dedicated /ai/ board the post speed is in the weeks/months time range.

>>49120 I watched Sunshine after Lady and ended up liking it more. It's very funny and there's the novelty of it using lots of licensed music. The last year of high school setup is great, but the final arc admittedly was kind of weak as it felt like they wanted a dramatic plot just because.

>>50244 it makes people seethe
>>50099 >extremely formulatic even compared to Pripara What alien mindset is this? >>50259 Now with an actual answer. Aipri is particularly made to be watched weekly and generate a "buzz" and reactions. The way each some episodes build ups stuff or ends with a strong cliffhanger, maintain people over there feeding themselves for the rest of week, while the next episode is not out. It's really well structured for working like this. Missing an ep or letting it to latter can ruin the experience with the anime, consequently. It's a bit awkward watching it all after knowing what happened. Specially how the ending was almost like trolling lol. Fujisaku said in an interview that he really wanted people to watch Aipri, and so the anime successed in this, at cost of a lof of things. >The designs are horribly simplistic That's a quality for an anime. >no jokes Wrong >no hype Wrong. Although the hype was all to nothing. >and the bits of fanservice don't exist You're baiting, right?
>>50322 I kind of like the series, mind you. Doesn't change my assessment about its visual quality being objectively poor. >>50330 What's the point of vomitting out posts like this?
>>50259 https://gamebiz.jp/news/401532 >The designs are horribly simplistic small and big friends alike seem to love them though. you can have your opinion, but you should be aware that it isn't an universal truth >no jokes disagree, it has plenty of funny scenes and gags, some of which became meme and MAD material. >no hype people were going crazy over chii debut, the dark aipri, tsumugi dying, etc so hard disagree >extremely formulatic even compared to Pripara outside the grand prix stuff that i agree can be very formulaic, i don't think it really is >the bits of fanservice don't exist aipri might be the most outright otaku pandering little girl show yet, idk what you're going on about
Those horribly simplistic designs give me a boner desu. I don't know much about AiPri but the character design work in that series is very pleasing to the eyes. Simple can be good, and it is in this case.
>>50357 >You're baiting, right? >aipri might be the most outright otaku pandering little girl show yet, idk what you're going on about How? I fucking watched this show frame by frame. I have not seen a single bit of fanservice, visually speaking. >>50365 >but you should be aware that it isn't an universal truth Even if the designs work for someone, they are objectively super simplified and low budget.
I mean, after Yuuma x Hiiro getting shipped became inevitable, I'm definitely dropping the series now, but I still wanted to understand why it became popular. I guess I got my answers, good for the series. Cheers.
>>50244 The ONLY reason Aipri has any modicum of success is due to the lack of competition. It has an entirely undeserved complete market capture. It’s a complete shame that Bandai is now whoring out Aikatsu’s corpse to this garbage.

>>50512 First off, objectivity in art is a retarded concept in general. Tell me in clean words what you consider "objectively" anything in art and I will prove you immediately wrong in that being "objective" at all, art is an entirely subjective medium. Secondly, the vast majority likes AiPri, so if it's "objectively poor", how can that possibly be? The entire usage of the term "objective" in regards to art, especially animation, is just immediate communication that you don't think very hard about your arguments and want a strong word to back up how you feel. AiPri is good, people agree it's good, if "objectivity" is a measure of its actual worth or whatever you people think it is (it's not), AiPri would be "objectively good".
>>50537 You sound like the kind of guy who get upset about anyone pointing out the flaws of anything he loves, not gonna lie. Fucking prick. Now apparently animation and visuals can't be viewed objectively. I guess you don't think the best of KyoAni's animation is objectively better than a random cheap budget series, either, huh? Because there's no objectivity and all that. Fucking prick.
>>50569 Animation and visuals can be viewed with some semblance of objectivity and you're a fucking retard if they come even close to encapsulating the entirety of an anime. "Hurr durr why do people like this anime it looks le bad", it's almost like there's dozens of different factors influencing an anime beyond the visuals lmfao. I think KyoAni makes a lot of hot garbage that's just all in on animation and really boring stories and characters, if you're on fucking /ai/ you should be able to understand things "being well-received despite poor animation" because 99% of /ai/ shows are animated by K*reans. >>50512 Funny there are still people out there that thinks that a design quality is dependant of how complex it is, confusing style with effort or budget. No wonder chinese gachas are so popular nowadays. >>50569 >Now apparently animation and visuals can't be viewed objectively. It kinda can, but you are doing it terribly wrong and understands nothing about these at all. If you want to talk objectively about something, first you need an objective, or at least be punctual with what you don't like. I, for example, don't like how OLM doesn't give any effor of how the backgrounds were done outside Aipri. They're flacid and lacks depth when putting objects in perspective. For inside though, I think they're alright. Nothing unusual for other Pretty entries at all. Except Tsumugi beach, that were only finished later in the series. It's nice to see how it was basically just a generic Pokemon HZ background before, where they fought at episode 6. >I guess you don't think the best of KyoAni's animation is objectively better than a random cheap budget series, either, huh? Context is important. I don't think KyoAni has the structure to sustain a 150ep anime nowadays. But if that's what you're interested, so go on and find some good seasonal anime to watch of something. >>50619 >It kinda can, but you are doing it terribly wrong and understands nothing about these at all. Pretty much this, your next line is kind of nonsensical but this is true. Animation can be viewed objectively in ways but is still overall too complex as a whole to be seen from a "truly objective" viewpoint because it is a complex art. People have preferences in regards to it and this makes up 99% of how someone sees something and the other 1% might be some loose semblance of "objectivity". People use the word objective when they think something is really good and that people should like it, people say that overanimated nonsense like GoHands' is "objectively good animation" I'm sure, but to me it looks like dogshit with no merit. Technical skill is more or less what is measured "objectively" in art, and even then it is not an exact science at all, and anyone who is an actual artist will know and tell you that technical skill alone isn't going to move people or make you money. AiPri has simple designs and simple animation, sure, but these work greatly to their benefit and are not "objective flaws" or "objective poorness", they're calculated decisions made with the intent of garnering appeal, and they succeed greatly in this. What is "objective" about AiPri's animation is that it's a little rushed and they didn't have too much of a budget, other bullshit is all your subjective special snowflake take on art just like it is for the rest of us. And maybe sometimes if the characters look wrong or the animation looks wrong it could be "objectively technically unskilled", but this matters to nobody besides pseuds who want to masquerade as anime critics.

Repost from the other thread but still, plumpy idols were a thing since ages ago.
>>50619 >This is bullshit. well, i say this because aipri has 3 hardcore otaku characters already, all written in a way that otaku big friends can relate to. and although the core of the message is something that makes sense for anyone including little girls, in the full extent these parts were clearly written thinking of the big friends (we haven't seen vivi yet to be fair, but just extrapolating)

>>50668 >your next line is kind of nonsensical but this is true. I typed this while working, sorry. But yeah. People have different expectations, but sometimes they're not mature enough to understand the rules of the game. Refusing to understand is the fastest way to hating something, after all. >that it's a little rushed and they didn't have too much of a budge I still wonder why some ainons think Aipri is the lowest budget from Pretty when Pripara was the one that actually ran on negative middleway S2. Pretty is low budget by default. And to me, this is charming.
>>50696 It's because AiPri has a ton of stuff that gets changed between previews and actual ep so most eps are very much not finished before they air, I think.
(66.55 KB 895x881 20250421_131555.jpg)

>>50699 I don't remember Bey X or Pokemon having these changes, now you mention it. If anything, from my perspective, it just means they have the opportunity to do some corrections that would turn out to happen just in BluRay earlier. Which is a good signal, because the standard is letting these corrections for far later. The 2 former openings being unfinished for exactly one episode was weird though. It feels like Yamaguchi is not revising them until the episode airs?
>>50696 Pripara S2 looked QUALITY but it was energetic as fuck, S1 humor is kinda understated but late S1/S2 in general is when Pripara humor gets perfected. So it had that going for it. AiPri is like some people said before, a Visual Novel.

>>50785 >AiPri is like some people said before, a Visual Novel. It was me. Frankly, if I was the art director, I would make extra sure to add text boxes and make the anime layout like even more like a VN. It would easily become too kino by just being a little bit more creative. The energy of Pripara is just unfeasible without the correct staff. I feel like Tomy Arts reflected into it a bit after Prichan and decided that Aipri would focus on other aspects derived from Pripara instead (the machinations of the system, and doll like creatures mysteries). I'm praying a lot for Ring Clover to be a bit more interesting, because Tsumugi's felt like an awkward tutorial mode with the most obvious answer possible. I can't help but think they made it purposely to call us idiots (we are).
>>50814 >with the most obvious answer possible to be fair, although her being mugi-chan and an ai was extremely predictable, i didn't expect her to be literally the aipri verse itself (and i don't remember anyone theorizing that) and also the friend energy stuff

The problem was that I was expecting some kind of twist or anything to add another layer for what had happened. But it was like... "Yeah. They just were kicked out by Tsumugi due to... huh... feelings." >and also the friend energy stuff It's basically Kirakira energy. Although I wasn't expecting them to go technical with that so fast. Pripara waited til Idol Land to even introduce it (Funny because I feel like most of concepts from Aipri are natural progression over stuff Idol Land played around, as Kirakira energy, Dark Idols being named as such, Yui generating energy to sustain the thing on temporarily, they logging in by falling from sky... we just need fire weapons now). >>50837 I remember watching a bit of gameplay of this, seeing OLM's scenes static while reading like a VN, and thought "Damn. For some reason it's being engaging." Not many comment on this, but Pretty is exclusively being carried by the voice acting 90% of time. Now if you excuse me, I will seek personal pleasure by touching myself.

>>50581 I never said I don't like Aipri you sperging fucking retard. >>50619 So much yapping for something I summarized in two fucking words everyone could understand if they're not trying to overcomplicate a simple concept just for some defensive virtue signaling. All in all, I miss pretty things and slightly sexy idol legs/moves/animations from earlier articles of the franchise. AiPri had none of that, and thus animation aside, I wonder what someone means by AiPri being one of the more "big friend catering" titles. Yet nobody could answer that, instead they nitpicked about my use of "objectively poor animation and visuals".
>>50939 Maybe you should learn command of the English language then.
>>50939 you already said you're dropping aipri because of your paranoia over yuuma, why do you care and why should anyone care to reply
>>50955 That's very rich coming from someone who probably needs subtitles for the shows we're talking about in this very thread.
>>50961 I watch every show on air numbnuts.

Why can't you just fucking ignore what I asked or answer my questions/discuss the show instead of random ad hominem? >>50965 Then stop being some kind of language elitist. I use that trash language just fine enough.
>>50976 >I use that trash language just fine enough. You use "objectively" to define art, it's not even about the language in use at that point, you are just dumb, you would use any other language just as poorly.
>>50980 >more elitist bullshit >MUH ARTISTIC SOUL CRIES Jesus, nobody asked. Now, can you answer something, or are you going to be butthurt over someone calling the visuals "objectively" poor forever?
just don't reply
>>50976 >Oh no, how dare someone dislike a specific trope/pairing and drop the series over it? nothing even happened yet, that's literally paranoia that's like dropping aipri over himari blushing to yakumo in episode 1 because you're paranoid they'll be together and then nothing happens for 50 episodes >answer my questions/discuss the show instead of random ad hominem you literally already said you already got your answers not productive to play chess with a pigeon
>>50991 You lost the plot, "objectively" used to define art is elitist bullshit, kid.
>>50995 >nothing even happened yet Are you saying you think it won't happen? Curious, because I'm 100% sure it's been set up that way. Literally no other reason for Yuuma to exist. And I said it's my specific problem, and I'll watch the show in case it won't happen by the end. >you literally already said you already got your answers So you had nothing to add, just wanted to get some upvotes or some shit? Good job. I guess if you want to turn the thread of a show intend to continue watching into shitposting central, you're free to do so. >>50997 Elitist my ass. >>51020 So be it, elitist fucking retard. You get your upvote. You still can't answer how it's somehow "caterint go big friends", or has any fanservice that earlier articles had. Even with the beach episode, we got exactly zero service shot or anything that resembled a butt or shapely thighs.
>>51017 No, that's uploaded to my account, I just been using your tags to keep my folder organized. I think ainon uploadeded them all at one point (probably long gone) but I didn't grab them because the whole thing is pretty repetitive.
>>51040 oh thats fair, yeah i heard it all got uploaded at one point but now its gone, makes me kinda sad to lose media i don't really care if it's repetitive or not (ive not even watched it at all anyway)
>>51035 >You still can't answer how it's somehow "caterint go big friends", or has any fanservice that earlier articles had. Almost like it wasn't me who was talking about that? Regardless, if you actually were a regular to these threads you would see almost everything provocative such as tamaki's ass or the weird yuri cuddles and headbonking and other thoroughly memed frames like the one where it looks like Himari is giving Mitsuki a blowjob posted to oblivion. Regardless, not my hill to die on, and I don't even owe you an answer.
>>51057 >thoroughly memed frames Forget I even asked. So big fat nothing. >Tamaki's ass I watched the series frame by frame. There was nothing lewd in the whole series.
>>51061 What do you even think was so lewd in the earlier series? It was always shit to this extent. What, do you want exposed tummy or something? Exposed legs? AiPri has both of those with shit like oh I don't know Mitsuki's entire standard outfit? Pretty isn't known for having full frontal nudity dude, this is no different from any of the earlier series.
surely there are better things to do in life than whatever this is
>>51066 They at least had some shapely legs and bottoms. More skin exposed. Nothing wild, but just some slightly lewd. Hell, Laala's Make It! debut or Yui's chikutaku singsong were porn compared to any performances.
>>51089 You do you but this is hardly provocative to me. If it were me I'd at least mention like, the training outfit in PriPara, or S2ED2 PriPara.

Oooooooookay. Now we talking. Aipri into a different way by suggesting dirtness instead of showing stuff directly (and someone in there having a blanket fetish). But basically you want it to be a little more ecchi. In addition, I miss Tatsunoko CG too, but I believe OLM will get in a stable skillset for working with this someday. >instead they nitpicked about my use of "objectively poor animation and visuals" You did it with yourself. You affirming the visuals are poor altogether it is just asking to be wrong for no reason, because you're talking arrogantly about something you understands nothing about. >I wonder what someone means by AiPri being one of the more "big friend catering" titles. It's not. This is bullshit too. Idk if someone even said it also. The thing with Aipri is that it's very easy to watch and discuss/react about weekly. How accessible it is determinant for why it's this popular. >>50994 I'm bored, and today is Wednesday. So it's the correct day for these discussions. >>51011 >Are you saying you think it won't happen? Curious, because I'm 100% sure it's been set up that way. My only mistake until now was thinking the frog was relevant. >>51035 >You still can't answer how it's somehow "caterint go big friends", or has any fanservice that earlier articles had. Speaking of articles, doesn't have some that recommend Aipri as Yuri anime? I mean, it's kind of too Yuri for an extent. >>51061 >There was nothing lewd in the whole series To think I failed today and there are ainons out here that fail more than me. >>51089 You have a point in there. The skirts from Aipri are slighty longer huh. But also Mii outclasses every one of these images merely by existing. So you're just showing your personal preferences. >>51129 Now this though. This is sex.
>>51135 >The skirts from Aipri are slighty longer huh. Yeah, but this is hot in its own way. You've gotta be real foolish to not understand the appeal of long skirts. >I failed lol. I'll help.
>>51135 >But also this is not gonna happen, believe me Remember the canon pairing in Prichan? Emo's little shota brother and a loli. And from the moment Yuuma was introduced as same as Hiiro, it was already on radar. Especially after how much he was blushing at her olde r sister already. Now they know each other, so I'm 99% sure it's gonna happen. And as someone who finds Hiiro peak, my jealousy of a little fagboy of all getting her is too much.

sion is such a weird (said with affection) character and then they also made her sex whats up with that her cg face is also very very pretty, bless tatsunoko, i wish it wasnt 1am so i could look at my screenshots
>>51238 Nothing wrong with that, but that's obviously not what I'm looking for. If I want regular/not little girl fanservice, there's plenty shows for that aside from PriOke, you know. I think I mentioned Hiiro is peak for me, so no surprise adult sized girls are not exactly my cup of tea.
(1.92 MB 1914x1079 geh.png)

>>51129 At this point, why not just find some seasonal anime with lewd little girls? I'm sure there are plenty out there. I frankly think the fun is imagining stuff instead of having it placed in our faces. There's a sense of lewdness in what's hidden.
>>51248 >seasonal anime with lewd little girls >I'm sure there are plenty out there You'd be surprised. That's not a thing in anime anymore, and I've watched every potentially lewd little girl show already. And I never asked it placed in our faces. Like I said, I miss the level of minimal fanservice up until AiPri. Imagining is nice, but it's also nice knowing the girls being pretty is recognized by drawing some shapes. Ironically, there was ONE episode of AiPri where the girls had some shapes, albeit in the worst possible outfit for that.
>>51248 >I'm sure there are plenty out there. Dunno why you were replying to me but actually you'd be kind of surprised at how empty the taps are these days. You have to dig back into stuff before like 2018 or so to find anything overtly loli-sexy, outside of like 1 or 2 key shows like onimai. I myself am plenty placated by that which Pretty Series provides though.

It's not Pretty of all things that will attend your desires if the rest of industry just changed as a whole. >>51269 >The method was based upon an old holistic theory of women's physiology: the uterus was seen as a hub of network of nerves in the female body from which illness was disseminated throughout the body, especially if the uterus was somehow displaced. The pelvic massage restored the uterus to its proper place and thus the typical women's complaints, like headaches, backaches, fatigue, depression and such, were cured. The doctor or therapist put his or her finger in the vagina of the patient and simultaneously massaged the uterus from the outside with the other hand. Sometimes the massage was actually carried out by a female assistant of the male physician or physiotherapist, but her participation in the process was usually not mentioned in medical writings and the male practitioner was cited as the sole expert on the method instead.
