>>32985 This is so lame, you already know that Ichi is strong on top of having MC plot wank, he's going to surpass Gokuraku in strength and have all the climactic moments of the story to himself over time. All this does is lower Gokuraku from the party's muscle to a Yamcha level benchwarmer. It's super anti-cathartic because Gokuraku's entire character resolves around this one majik, while this non-combatant majik is basically weaker than everything Ichi has faced thus far. Not to mention this tapir having no chemistry with anything in Ichi's mindscape if he takes it, while there's a lot of potential for internal conflict in Gokuraku's what with their decade of rivalry. Tapir is even still in the moral "no killing rule" state, having not actually harmed anyone in 10 years. But really, all options here are pretty bad and the author's written themselves into a corner. If Gokuraku takes it, that's basically a retcon of the premise, and you can expect a deluge of male witches later. Nothing whatsoever indicates the sister can take it. Desscara has even less of a stake in this than Ichi, and after easily beating Time Warp, having her as a get out of job free card will just lower stakes. >>32887 That's Gokuraku's entire character arc resolved in his intro arc, backstory and all, he'll be nothing but comic relief or a jobber material moving forward, unless his sister gets debilitated by something and he has to find Time Warp to fix it or get revenge or something, which will be much less interesting than what the prior chapters were building up to.

>>44493 Gokuraku is not likely to stay in the cast beyond this arc, regardless. He'll probably stay back home and take care of his sister. He fits into the story weirdly, if he sticks around. He's like Ichi, but worse. And the cast already has the 'muscle' role filled with Desukarasu. Ichi provides unique psychology to the group, which is his boon. Gokuraku doesn't really have that, and if he sticks around, it is only as the team's Yamcha, like you say. Better for him to step into the background and maybe pop up later as an ally or whatever in a future arc. But not as a main character.
