I've dropped quite a few anime, some off the top of my head:
>The Eminence in Shadow
Pure, unadulterated cringe. Someone on /a/ told me it's meant to be a 'parody' of power-fantasy isekai. I think that's a cope, this was just the most banal, egregious, self-insert wish-fulfillment shit for bullied teenagers that I've ever watched, no sign of it being a parody at all. Makes SAO look like Tolkien. Dropped it like 4 episodes in and I remember literally none of it.
>Darling in the Franxx
Dropped this while it was airing. I was expecting a ridiculously-OTT but still fun anime like KlK. This also delivered with the stupidity, but didn't with the entertainment...so the whole premise just felt even more stupid. I didn't like a single character.
>No Game No Life
This is one I'd actually consider trying again. I remember feeling 'betrayed' by the premise of the MCs being geniuses when all the games they were in won with complete asspulls. Felt like a 'dumb author tries to write smart characters' situation. But it's been so long that my tastes have probably (d)evolved enough for me to enjoy it more now lol. I remember the art being pretty nice
>Momentary Lily
From last season. I hadn't seen any GoHands before, but I already knew their notoriety, so I went into this with an open mind. Turns out my problems with them weren't their eccentric animation style, it was literally everything else. It felt like it was written by AI, except I don't even think AI could come up with a less imaginative cast and more boring plot/setting. I know the word "kuso" gets overused but there isn't a better word to describe this abysmal excuse for an anime. The flashy animation was like adding sprinkles to a turd. Anyone who actually likes this show would probably give a round of applause for jangling keys.
