/LNg/ Japanese Light Novel General Thread Anonymous 09/21/2025 (Sun) 09:23:31 Id: 6d4325 No. 72984
This thread is for anything related to the discussion of Japanese light novels, WN/Web Novels included, as well as their anime and manga adaptations. Isekai included.
O MY SERAS
(174.76 KB 1032x821 1757884735162885.jpg)

If nothing else one thing I would miss is the quippy retarded OP texts that somehow shoehorn "Isekai" in. Someone quippier than me can probably get something funny out of this.

>Wake up to the korean spam having completely taken over the 4chan thread. It already felt like it was getting worse by the day but damn.
>>73011 I warned people it was inevitable before even SL aired

>IP has been stunlocked on 4chan for "off-topic posting" for hours now. I can't even get in a post to fucking ask what are people using now that coomik is dead, netoraredex got circumcised, and wc keeps being slow with updates if it's not mainstream shounenshit. Do all roads really lead to kekalot clones?
>>73015 I meant in english.
(428.27 KB 635x482 d______.png)

>>73018 AIEEEEE
>>73016 Given the spergout a few hours back, it was probably to be expected. Also just been coping with WC and kek, so far they seem to be getting new chapters relatively on time still so at least that means they are still getting them from somewhere. If it's from a secrit club aggregator or from the MTLers directly who knows, but for now the piracy hydra continues to live.
>>73016 I'm following 10ish different sites, but mostly mangadex, batoto and rawkuma. It helps that I know enough about programming to write my own notification system so I don't have to check each of them manually.
>>73021 >It helps that I know enough about programming to write my own notification system Is it just RSS?
(1.05 MB 1429x1183 Untitled.png)

>>73022 Yes. There's some custom stuff for filtering and for turning html/json into RSS.
>>73023 What client are you using? There was some RSS discussion around the 4chan thread but it basically died under the KR flood.
>>73024 I use Thunderbird for reading the RSS feeds. The middle layer that does filtering and html-RSS translation is a pile of Rust code.
>>73025 Anything mozilla is goy and gay, I will find a better RSS with vidya and lolis.
>>73025 TIL thunderbird had an RSS feed.
>>73023 >Gookdex uses rss despite being a modern site The fuck tho.
>>73018 >>73019 You would think the average fag browsing image boards would be more willing to learn jp asap.
Gook jannies obliterated almost 100+ posts from the recent gooksekai thread, all of it was from people trying to discuss JP and fend off the unwashed gook hordes. Yet the gooks got a slap on the wrist. I got a 3 day ban for nothing. Fuck jannies and FUCK GOOKS.
>>73031 Same, after I got a single post in I also instantly got a 3 day for "ban evasion.
>>73030 Life's busy bro.
>>73031 Dunno bro, I don't like the idea of leaving 4chan but it's more than clear the moderation keeps killing any positive discussion of Japanese stuff by force. And frankly once you take out the gookspam, shitposts, and mino spamming out of context manga pages nobody replies to, the discussion rate seems to be about the same these days.
>>73032 EVERY SINGLE FUCKING GOOK SPAMMER IN THAT THREAD GOT A SLAP ON THE WRIST/NOTHING, WHILE JP POSTERS ALL GOT BANNED + POST WIPED. TGD >>73034 Nah, FUCK GOOKS. After the banwave the discussion was almost completely dominated by gookshit spam. Fucking faggot gooks killing isekai threads and have the gall to call anyone who opposes their spam and brigading as "zealots" which makes zero sense.
>>73035 >which makes zero sense. Pretty sure it's the usual tactic of "anyone I don't like is a single menhera". And yeah today was the most blatant rogue mod shit I have seen in a while, but going off the leaks from the 4chan hack, they are hardly surprising.
>>73030 I don't think so honestly. Old school NEETS that are actually socially isolated and at most talk to a handful of people are a rarity these days IMO. Between parasocialing on jewtube and the high speed activity on 4chan and other social media sites the average NEET these days has more social interaction than even normalfags did a mere 10 years ago. People like that are not fit for autisming up a full another language on a whim, they are too busy shitposting and arguing with bots and jeets on the internet.
Man, the 4chan fatigue is real. I never expected the "you are here forever" curse to get broken with the hack and downtime but I find myself browsing it less and less as time goes on.
>>73038 IMO it showed threads have been the exact same shit for a decade now. Funnily enough 2 weeks is about the time needed to make or destroy a habit I think, and it just so happens the site was dead for about that much.
The gooks, they are at it again.
>>73042 I wash my hands from 4chan at this point, it's a dead website for talking about JP stuff these days.
>>73042 IMO most of the issue is a compromised moderation there.
It's over. The transformation of isekai into a gookshit general is complete. That's all the threads have been about since the unjust bans yesterday, Dominated by gookshit. Anons no longer take issue with gookshit in the OP, the gooks have slandered us as "zealots" and now everyone is against us because of it.
>>73045 Pretty sure that's the case with the entire site, not just /a/, I have seen discussion of the leaks floating around basically since the site went back up.
>>73046 To see any kind of pushback to it you would have to wait another 2 days minimum. And even then let's be real it will just lead to another round of "stop ban evading" until all dissent is culled for good.
>>73048 >another 2 days minimum. Assuming people got 3 days and not a month or more.

JUSTICE SAGA TL UPDATED CHAPTER 3 IS NO LONGER PAYWALLED ALSO IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S FUCKING WEEKLY AND NOT A MONTHLY SLOG HOLY FUCKING SHIT FUCK YES https://philiascans.org/series/justice-saga/
>>73050 Is cunny and a military uniform really enough to win a man over to this degree?
Oh yeah, that reminds me, next anime season starts next week or so, is there anything any of you is looking forward to? >>73050 Kino.
(841.94 KB 2880x4092 1758144695993358.jpg)

>>73051 YES. It also helps the MC is a proper unironic chuuni instead of the ironyshit that started with rikka and only became exponentially worse with megumeme, legit one of the best intros of a male MC I have seen in a while.
>>73050 >>73053 >Still not up on fagdex.
>>73053 I'm not sure what the difference is supposed to be honestly. >>73054 Get used to it, thanks to gooks the era of proper centralized aggregators is over.
>>73055 Unironic chuuni is an over the top cool character. Ironic chuuni is "Look at this delusional retard lol", even if parody authors are spineless and unable to ridicule their pet creations properly (looking at you konosuba).
>>73050 >>73053 Speedread it just now. Not sure where is it gonna go after this, does the MC actually have powers now?
>>73052 Assuming the MAL list is up to date (don't have an account, I only use the seasonal list). >OPM S3. It will either be amazing or a shitshow. Likely the latter, still watching it out of sunk cost tho. >Tondemo S2. It's basically the best part of the novel before it devolves into meaningless meandering, should be at least decent. >Nageki S2. S1 was ass, I have no expectations, but still gonna watch it. >Ansatsusha It's basically eminence but less comedy (same LN artist even) so I will watch it. >Lv 9999 gacha. Read the manga a while back, it was passable as mindless actionshit, will watch if I even remember it. Honestly the season could be worse, there's even some stuff like wild last boss that I know has some following but I don't care about. Next season looks like it's gonna be ass however, literally nothing but normalfag shit like frieren and oshitnoko and JJK and mato. At least hell mode is airing next season, which is somehow even sl0ppier than the gacha one and actually outright mindless, so it should at least be good background noise.
>>73056 No offense, but I still don't really get the difference.
>>73059 Honestly you may need to read more, it is also somewhat a case by case basis because a portrayal in the source material may change in the anime or manga adaptation. The point is IMO, how the narrator/writer portrays it. An unironic approach is rather straightforward and with the sense of "this is fucking cool" and you may not even notice it. The ironic approach is basically "this is so cringe amirite?" and paradoxically shows cool things but without expecting you to find them cool, and instead expect you to react with "lmao they did the poses and the eye thing".
>>73054 That group has been banned there.
>>73062 Let me guess, they "sniped" an MTL jeet group that MD protects?
>>73063 Besides the paywalls, I remember there was something about copying either other group's chapters or official ones on their site too.
>>73065 If paywalls are a problem that would bar 90% of the TL groups off mangadex lol.
>>73075 From the group description there: >Philia Scans is an aggregator that steals chapters from other websites without credit and then charges money for you to access them, do not upload anything from their website.
>>73076 Honestly it sounds like an excuse to ban them. Does anyone else have justice saga? Because they were the first ones I saw after a 5 sec google search and started to read.
It's also not up on wc still if that matters. Haven't checked kekalot clones but those are really inconsistent with new releases.
Got bored and made this due to my gripes with shit like virgin road, later volumes of overlord and cheeto slayer, feel free to use it for your shitpost endeavors if you still browse 4chan for whatever reason.
>>73078 Do people unironically use weebcentral? Sometimes they take weeks to upload chapters if it isn't mainstream shounenshit, even kekalot clones are better at that point.
>>73081 It loads faster than fagdex. It has more series than fagdex after the DMCA nukes. Less of a pain to find and use than finding the current kek clone. It's good enough for me.
This place looks like it has far more activity than I expected honestly.
>>73083 What did you expect?
>>73087 About a post per month from how this place gets shit on every time it gets mentioned either on /a/ or /v/.
>>73089 That was the speed of the threads before the gooks started to get far more aggressive with their colonizing lol.
>The only place to read manga right now may be kek and MD. Fucking grim.
>>73093 Do mangafags still not have something like a ghost shop which is like a streaming downloads site off torrents?
>>73095 Some of them do exist (and some even have PC clients), but they are mirrors, not really aggregators TLers upload their shit to.
>>73095 >>73100 Can you explain what does that mean?
>>73102 Do you mean the ghost shop thing? Basically non-clearnet hosting for piracy shit. Because sites hosting roms and whatnot were constantly taken down, people started to just host it off the clearnet to access it through downloaders. I'm frankly going off nintendo switch piracy lingo but the entirety of sadpanda works that way as well. I THINK so does anime streaming, at least after crunshit became "legit". >>73100 That's still a good start IMO.
>>73102 You mean the PC clients? Just look up suwayomi/mangayomi.
>>73107 Those are a pain to use IMO, and rely on aggregators anyway. Plain torrents and having the local files is far better, and for rolling releases just cope with whatever site you can find.
>>73109 It's less about ease of use and more about resilience to getting nuked by DMCAs.
Apparently justice saga is indeed weekly from the official site. Holy FUCK that's some great news.
>>73119 First time I have seen someone excited for something in a while.
>>73123 It is kino tho.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUU decided to pick up a manga I was reading a while back on the internet archive and just discovered it was removed after the lawsuits
>>73131 Do you even remember the name of it?
>>73132 Ichi F: A Worker's Graphic Memoir of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Interesting read about the clean up, plus nice to have a down to earth manga once in a while (that isn't just slice of life of a high school girl)
>>73135 >chi-F Omnibus (2017) (Digital) (danke-Empire) It's in Nyaa.
>>73135 There's a manga of that?
>>73057 Nothing by chapter 5, other than what he knows.
>>73139 Called a graphic memoir, but that's just a fancy name for manga. Which is really just a fancy name for a comic
>>73140 If this is gonna end up with the MC being a nageki style guy bullshitting his way into looking OP that would certainly be quite the dynamic.
(1.46 MB 624x485 1705822380296525.gif)

Out of sheer autistic habit it took me a bit of meandering before noticing the OP changed. I'm way too used to just seeing the spoilered isekai on the title and then jumping in, would it be possible to change it so "Isekai" is at the start of the thread text next OP? So how have you been fags? Last I checked this general was still on the original one with the slideboard OP.
>>73146 I F5'd the page, turns out we are among the top 15 most active boards again. Wouldn't surprise me if 99% of that activity is just this general tho.
>>73140 >>73143 Dunno how to feel about that, it would be somewhat lame.
(62.12 KB 481x501 1756936330905076.jpg)

I'm missing out on too much for not reading older classics like overlord or kumo? They are way too long and I always feel overwhelmed trying to even start them even when I want to. And that's with just stuff with like 15 volumes like overlord, older stuff like raildex I heard has over 50 by now. Sometimes I can't even get myself to read the manga if it has more than 50 or so chapters. Haven't even read MT despite being a far more recent zeitgeist for this reason, it's far easier to consoom random new kuso like carrier as it gets posted in these threads.
>Bocchitfag. >Is a complete room temp IQ normalnigger.
>>73159 It is a legit question bro. Honestly JP stuff being overwhelmingly long is also why I started to drift towards korean webtoons for a while too.
>>73153 How can reading be overwhelming nigga it's just a book.
>>73165 >JUST read 50 volumes in a day to discuss it with people bro. Some stuff it's so niche I can't even find video essays to get the gist of it either.
>>73153 You could like, at least say what's your taste like or something? Is this a post asking for recs?
>>73153 Don't tell you haven't read Bocchi's manga yet. It has more than 50 chapters.
>>73169 >You could like, at least say what's your taste like or something? I'm asking if those classics are worth reading. >Is this a post asking for recs? Kinda? >>73181 I haven't, I'm still waiting for season 2.
>>73182 >I haven't, I'm still waiting for season 2. Bruh.
>>73182 >I haven't, I'm still waiting for season 2. Bro just read it. It's a fucking 4koma, it goes down the throat like soda and chips.
>>73150 From what I remember the isek/a/i general was also the most activity on 4chan too, especially after the shounenshit generals got circumcised, especially /dbs/.
>>73153 I would highly advise against reading Overlord or Kumo unless you really love the story within 3 chapters, and even then you should drop them when the story goes down the shitter later on.
>>73188 I will argue overlord doesn't go to shit until the 2 elf volumes. And even then if I may huff the copium, it's still salvageable.
>>73190 How do you have any trust whatsoever still left for hackuyama?
>>73191 I think it's less trust and more just wanting to see how it ends.
Overlord was never good.
To think about it, overlord really went to shit after volume 3 with the lizard sex on vol 4. Fuck maruyama, sorry for the spam tho.
>>73196 Vol 4 may have been filler but it was passable filler. It really went to shit after the holy kingdom arc honestly, that's the last good part of the story so far.
>>73191 Yeah it's straight up sunk cost for me lmao.
(266.43 KB 639x976 1711508592899194.png)

>The current state of the 4/a/ general. Grim.
>Been checking the philliafag site daily for updates on justice saga to see on which day of the week they release the TLs. I missed how it feels to chase an ongoing series.
>>73202 Lucky, most isekai manga I follow seldom get TL updates nowadays.
>>73201 Made me check, it's kinda just dead.
>>73202 >>73204 Probably because manga is going through the era where isekai actually declined for a while after sadboy shit but hasn't gotten over to the renaissance era. Which is weird because I don't think any of the witch series actually got much traction, only a handful, there was no flood of adaptations like with isekai.
>>73206 Is not isekai's fault the witch era ended up a disappointment.
>>73206 >>73207 >Muh witches. The what now?
(695.72 KB 1362x1920 cover.jpg)

>>73208 Did you somehow miss that trend? Silent witch is even airing RIGHT NOW.
>>73209 That was a trend?
>>73210 A relatively short lived one, but yes. Seems after they ran their course we are back to isekai and shoelacer shit, now only the long witch series still remain.
>>73209 Wait hold on. >Silent witch counts. Is this a "native isekai" situation where a blanket makes everything with ้ญ”ๅฅณ in the title count?
(806.66 KB 1400x1991 this shit.jpg)

>>73212 No you dumb faggot, it was a genre before it started to dilute. It was the other offshoot that was born from arifureta aside from classroom isekai, betrayed classroom isekai, betrayed and left for dead in a dungeon (not necessarily isekai), the "I found a girl in a godforsaken place" stories. It kinda solidified into it's own subgenre with clingy lich (pic rel) and started to evolve from there. Funnily enough the most natural girl in a godforsaken place to find was either a vampire or a witch, and because vampire main girl stories became something else entirely, the genre became dominated by witch main girls until the current stuff started to not be isekai. To think of it, it's crazy how much people overlook how influential both raildex and arifureta were to LNs in general, literally 90% of the current LN culture is owed to one of those two.
>>73213 Don't forget "kicked from the party" stuff that arifureta also started also becoming it's own genre, the shoelacer genre.
>>73213 >>73214 TIL I guess. How is this the first time I heard of this?
>>73213 >Spoiler. People don't give a shit about actually reading, they just want to wank the very few things they get gaslit into liking. That's how you get people somehow thinking that MT is simultaneously better than all isekai before it and after, while also being massively subversive and a breath of fresh air in isekai AND also somehow MT inventing isekai, all at once. And at this point normalfags are so stupid I don't even think the absurd levels of cognitive dissonance are even noticed, let alone being something that actually bothers them.
>>73215 Because the isekai general stopped being about niche stuff around the time zero believers got close to ending. That was the last thing the thread culture was led by anons finding niche stuff, after that point it became about astroturfers shilling whatever would be the next "big" release okamalator companies got to prepare a fanbase when the localizations actually started rolling out.
>>73218 >That's how you get people somehow thinking that MT is simultaneously better than all isekai before it and after, while also being massively subversive and a breath of fresh air in isekai AND also somehow MT inventing isekai, all at once. That still makes no sense, rifujin has gone on record saying he explicitly was following the bandwagon tropes because his prior stories weren't popular enough for his liking.
>>73215 If you mean the witch genre stuff, because basically none of them get a big following overseas. Though even in japan it's niche comparable to urban fantasy.
>>73223 Gonna guess the sadboy stuff also didn't get much following.
>>73224 Rightfully so, aside from one or two half decent ones all of them were misery porn kusopa.
>>73219 I miss ankokuposting. Probably the last time the isekai general had any soul.
>>73221 Never said it made sense, I just repeated what retards usually say. I have also seen "boogiepop invented LNs" float around at times.
>>73228 >I have also seen "boogiepop invented LNs" float around at times. Now that's fucking retarded, most people at least point at slayers for a reason, boogiepop began publishing almost a decade after slayers.
>>73227 What do you expect when people don't look up new WNs on their own?
>>73231 How many people we have that can speak japanese to look that up?
>>73232 I'm barely learning at least, so not me.
I do find it funny there's no gaybending or yurinetorare spam.
>>73234 Didn't the gookfag basically admit it was all him to normalize that shit?
>>73232 I know but busy with my backlog to read new stuff.
(146.84 KB 982x284 normalized gookshit.png)

>>73234 Shitposters are scared of places where the jannies aren't actively protecting them. >>73236 You mean this? Yeah.

>>73246 Isekai ojiisan, somehow.
>>73151 Unless that world was designed with a place he could gain some sort of power, there's no reason he should have any. He was pulled to that world without much explanation, so it's also possible there's some power he didn't yet remember that he wanted but gained when arriving there.
>>73242 >>73245 Is she retarded? Are girls really cuter when they are almost retarded?
>>73258 >Unless that world was designed with a place he could gain some sort of power, IIRC he literally wrote it. There's probably a way.
What do you guys think is the optimal harem size in stories? Only 3 girls? More than 10? Around 7?
>>73284 Three is optimal, as protagonist and three harem members makes for a large enough main cast to focus upon. 7 is something that only a really good writer could manage, as you'd just get some overlap and redundancy, and should be the absolute maximum. 10 is way too many.
This month in ็‰ฉ่ชžใฎ้ป’ๅน•ใซ่ปข็”Ÿใ—ใฆ, we're starting Fiona Arc for real.
>>73288 >>73289 And so the homewrecker has arrived...
>>73284 It really depends on the focus of the story honestly. For shit that goes from action setpiece to action setpiece only to follow it up with a big boss battle like it's a shounenkuso series, you really want a small number of characters, which results on a small harem of 2-4 being optimal, which is why stuff like MT comes off as well written but slime has way too fucking many characters which dilutes the plot. Meanwhile for character driven stuff you either really focus on 1-2 girls or allow the story to expand into a harem of 5-9, which is why stuff like smartphone somewhat works (up to a point) despite also having a bloated cast.
>>73284 Less than 5 for a polycule More than 5 for a harem
>>73307 >polycule According to google this isn't actually harem, just group dating.
>>73308 In real life? Sure In isekai? It is just a harem where the girls sometimes make out
>>73312 >/u/kuso
(257.05 KB 1350x1920 6854.jpg)

>>73327 Now this is new, haven't seen it posted in either thread. Is it gud?
>>73307 >>73312 >>73328 >Even the shitposters are starting to move here. Is 4/a/ really that far gone the deep end?
>>73339 Not quite, not yet anyway, the usual shitposts and gookspam keeps getting worse as time goes on though.
>>73327 >Now as you can see, I have drawn this monk as the chad and you all as the soijacks.
>>73327 Feels like this whole sequence has a lot of meme potential. Sucks I can't into photoshop else I would crop the monks shown in the 4th page so it can be used for any meme as a template.
>>73327 https://youtu.be/PumFnlu9EIY The question is did she open niconico or youtube?
>Find manga adaptation I dropped years ago. >Check it again. >It only has a handful more chapters from where I dropped it. >Catch up again in an hour or so.
AMERICA, FUCK YEAH
>>73388 Is this the same mangaka for that vampire VRMMO GBshit one? Art looks really similar.
>>73388 I know the ending is going to be disappointing in at least one way.
>>73392 It is the Trash mangaka.
>>73405 Wow rude.
>Finally new justice saga chapter. >Just boring filler. It's chapter motherfucking 4 (four) (shi).
>>73418 I think that's just manga original pacing. There's a reason a lot of people drop manga that does that.
>>73418 The fighting there lasts until chapter 6, so there may be 1 more before they return.
>>73421 >>73427 I just remembered why I stopped paying attention to manga originals. Man...
Are you guys watching anything from this new anime season?
>>73463 I will at the very least follow tondemo and infinite gacha.
The 4chan general somehow keeps getting shittier by the day, sometimes I question why I even bother trying to browse it.
>>73473 Grumpy little man
>>73473 The entirety of 4chan is a lost cause, dunno what are you expecting.
BIWEEKLY LN RELEASES POST WHEN
>>73489 That's a /jp/ thing bro.
>>73513 >Would have included ๅดฉๅฃŠไธ–็•Œใฎ้ญ”ๆณ•ๆ–่ทไบบ if not for the spoilers on 4. What a trashfire. Reminder spoilers on 4chan (and most of the internet for that matter) are not to be trusted, to this day people still believe amagi in evil lord is the reincarnated ex-wife liam had on earth.
>>73514 That's not even the worst of it, I have seen outlandish NTR claims about basically every series that was even somewhat popular over last decade there.
>This thread is effectively dead. >/a/ is still among the top 15 most used boards on this site. How? Last time were were this high it was 95% this general alone.
>>73520 I'm assuming a few of the anons from here started posting a bit in other threads as well
>>73520 >>73524 I can shred some light on that actually, as someone that frequents a variety of stuff like seasonal threads, new chapter manga threads, etc, I did use to browse the 4/a/ catalog that closely. To sum it up, did you think the banwave by gookmods was limited to just the isekai general? Lol, yabai. I'm also surprised people are slowly moving over though.
>>73524 I haven't at least, I only really care about this thread lol. >>73525 >People are already leaving for alt chans and pisscord. >Jannies double down on their faggotry and make people leave even harder. But why tho.
>>73525 I stopped going to 4/a/ during the last seasonals with the pantymenhera and ai spammer being allowed to shit up every thread
>>73529 Speaking of AIkuso spam, there was a thread shilling AI generated "anime" where people got bans for insulting pajeets recently.

What tags do you use in narou/kakuyomu for weak protagonist, the genuine one not weakest but strongest shenanigans?
>>73536 "Bad story" should should do the trick.
>>73529 >>73530 Didn't know that 4/a/ outside the isekai general was this shit now.
>>73536 You mean like nageki?
Hakomari anime/movie never ever
>>73552 Good. Basically nobody in the 10s would do it justice and there's no way they can in this goykuso era.
>>73536 That exists?
>>73558 People have tried.
>>73556 Monogatari could
Some anon on the old isekai general is doing an aggregator without hosting gookkuso. Place your bets on how long it lasts.
>>73565 It kinda couldn't, as it relies on very specific (and sometimes obnoxiously so) meta jokes that very much only work under the context of it being a book. Which I will argue then was taken by dogshit copycats ending with garbage like konosuba when trying to replicate it, but that's another topic. Within the context of a direct retelling of the "main" plot however? Yeah guess it was decent and could have been a lot worse. Thing is though even something to that degree is basically impossible these days because anime studios acting like sweatshops basically scared off all otaku with talent that could pull it off. At most you will get ufotable treating it like a kikewood movie full of CGI with a cameraman inside a laundry machine, realistically you will get any of the B-lister studios shitting out a bare minimum possible product to grift a few clueless fans and that's it. Absolute worst case scenario you get a westaboo director like it happened with CSM and the adaptation ends up being actual dogshit.
I actually can't remember last time I could call an adaptation truly great/near perfect.
Thoughts on e-readers like kindle? Especially with how they handle JP fonts. Been thinking of getting one to read epubs.
>>73587 I don't get the appeal, I can just read on my 'puter.
i will lurk here if any of you discusses raw wns
>>73593 Which do you want to discuss anon?
>>73587 >kindle Actual dogshit, especially with how they keep patching ways to jailbreak the thing. Get a kobo instead, somewhat more expensive but worth the money due to better build quality and actually being able to read offline books.
>>73592 Having a separate device for specific stuff can be more comfortable. I'm starting to get sick of having a PC and a phone as do-all devices, I'm even sick of game consoles having internet browsers and app stores for netflix and shit. >>73599 Yeah heard amazon went to shit in this regard. Will keep it in mind, thanks.

>>73594 this lovely dork. for the last 400 chapters (out of 1400) she's been getting more and more dependable to the point it reads like a different work than the first few hundred.
>>73612 >to the point it reads like a different work than the first few hundred. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I have seen both sides of that coin I think.
>>73615 the heartwarming core of the series is still there, and new arc continue to keep that in. character dynamics are evolving over time, the outer cast is all slowly getting tucked under haruka's guild umbrella, she's starting to openly stand up for what she believes in. it's definitely not getting worse. i was in for a gentle story and i'm getting that.
>>73612 Vampire or elf? >I could read the title as "My heart is an old man's". Assuming it's correct that's one hell of a dopamine shot for something with literally 2 kanji that are so basic and rudimentary they are like N6 tier.
>>73618 ojisan ่ปข็งป'd and ๆ†‘ไพ'd into a "dark elf" body. still not definite if she's a dark elf, they haven't been to the dark elf lands. >is being a dark elf relevant to anything? by now it's revealed why she looks like that. but no, there's never a plot point because she's a dark elf, she looks like someone else more famous than her, she's very beautiful in-lore, and literally the only dark elf on her continent. author could have made her any other skin color too, not that i'm complaining.
>>73619 >>is being a dark elf relevant to anything? I'm not the kind of fag that would instantly be like dOeS tHe iSekAi eLemEnT mAtTeR? so not sure what prompted that. Don't tell me it's a fetish GB story tho.
>>73620 >not sure what prompted that eh just dismiss it as enthusiasm then. >fetish GB story acts asexually, is impressed by maybe one ไธญๆ€ง็š„ vampire guy, embarrassed by one good looking vampire girl, and starkly refuses bathing with her party members. it's more me who'd like her to end up with someone at the end.
>>73621 I mean, I just have GB fatigue. This just being a normal story seems kino, if a slow burn.
>>73625 it also has some rare elements. she comes out fully, another isekaier comes out fully, and no one makes a scene over it. so many series keep it a secret for no reason.
>>73381 >follow manga for years >anime comes out, flies past it, ends with s2 never ever. >wn/ln isn't translated or sniped by mtl esl faggots
>>73628 >>wn/ln isn't translated or sniped by mtl esl faggots Just learn japanese or MTL it yourself at that point. It's not like official okamalators are any better than MTL when they literally use it.
>>73628 Can't think of any examples tho, which?
>>73653 Mizu Zokusei no Mahoutsukai is a recent example
>>73657 and nothing of value was lost, i hear. he doesn't even get much page time with his cute wife after ep12.
>>73659 Anime felt like mc is gay anyway.
>>73657 Feel like that is one weird example. The series basically was unknown before the anime, was a literal who aside from normalfags praising the "production values" of it during it's anime airing, and it went back to being completely forgotten after the season ended. The one time I saw one eceleb even mention it was just to complain about "elf waifus in isekai" and that's about it.
>>73657 I mean, nice to see real mentions and not talking about hallucinated examples at least. For some reason I thought you were going to mention something that wasn't isekai, as isekai series tend to wait for enough manga for a first season to get an anime.
>>73687 That was before, these days what anon greentexted is what usually happens like dorkness, etc. Unless the manga was ancient comparatively speaking.
>>73660 He does come off as a gayboy tho. Likely a natural result of the author going all le harems le bad mind you.
Water magician just feels like RAY HUWAITO. It came and went and nobody really gave a fuck despite their respective plots being pretty menheraphrenic in retrospect.
>>73736 Did water magician also went for some bullshit meta-adaptation shit?
>>73737 No, but the plot itself is already stupid enough as-is.
Also just saw the kamen rider wannabe first ep. Wonder how long it will take for people to start saying "reverse native isekai".
>>73765 >reverse native isekai I would say "there's no way people are actually that stupid" but I said the same once upon a time over the "native isekai" part.
(1.05 MB 1920x1080 1759855033656394.png)

Oh yeah, this shit is airing again. The one that is somehow the top rated WN on narou at the moment.
>>73782 Rude!
>>73782 Slow life like nouka I get it, but with this one I legit don't get the appeal. >The fights suck. >The worldbuilding is basically nonexistent. >There's basically no characters aside from the MC's group and the goddesses. >Said goddesses are obnoxious like 3dpd foids. It's not even the best one among "glorified cookbook" series.
>>73784 TLDR: Quite literally just "it comfy". Also narou hasn't been a good measuring stick for otaku culture since MT started to bring in the normalniggers, especially when basically any story can get decently high in the rankings if they go at least a year straight with a daily chapter.
>lonef life >mc keep getting together with his classmates from early on. I feel scammed. Also this thing feels like what if Arifureta mc didn't experience abyss, but more stupid.
>>73798 Fucking who?
(1.20 MB 2712x1220 1739133891952260.jpg)

>monster stampede approaches town >let's take defensive position OUTSIDE the town walls >guild master, de facto commander, staying in front haha
>>73809 Do any of them even have any real magic artillery? Because a few sharp sticks are not going to do much to a literal horde. At that point you would be stupid to hole inside the walls, if they climb them or destroy them then mitigating damage inside the town is going to be a complete shitshow.
>>73798 >>73809 >Pointless out of context greentexts that intentionally ignore the context of the specific series they are in. It's like I'm really back on 4chan!
>>73811 At least it's about series that arguably exist rather than made up greentexts, so there's that.
>>73816 >arguably exist Is this like being a little bit pregnant?
Warn: try to post something better than just low quality and cryptic posts
>>73818 >Warn: try to post something better than just low quality and cryptic posts The fuck? We actually have jannies here that do their jobs? I didn't even fucking report it out of habit due to 4chan jannies doing jack shit to stop the shitposting.
>>73824 Yes, they do.
>>73818 Wew.
Looks like phillia scans is already widening the paywall gap on the new FOTM. Grim.
>>73841 Heard it's possible to report okamalators to the authors/publishers and they actually get killed by DMCA. Dunno if it's true.
>>73847 I don't know why are you even trying to have discussion there when the mods went mask off like a week ago deleting a perfectly fine thread just because it wasn't made by the protected gookspammers.
>>72984 Clock my beloved... Never finished reading DAL even in english, is it worth the time?
How are both the anime adaptation and the novel of May I Ask for One Final Thing? I've only read the manga.
>>73877 Too early to tell. Sometimes studios dump budget into the first few eps, then the rest is shit, sometimes the first eps are shit to save budget for the season finale.
