If you're coming from toku I think seasons like Fresh Precure hit that sweet spot, the only negative is that it's known as a bit of QUALITY season at times, but the story and characters make up for it.
There are other popular seasons like:
>Go! Princess
Great production values and story, it's hard to get behind the "I want to become a princess!" from the MC in the first few episodes, but they execute it way better than one would expect.
>Smile
The most comedy-centric season in Precure, it's like a Precure-themed 4koma, so it's a type of show you watch when you're in a certain mood, but it delivers that mood REALLY well.
>Heartcatch
Great balance between dark and fun, it's typically the most recommended season for newcomers, it has the same character designer as Saint Seiya Omega and Ojamajo Doremi, so it's quite stylish.
>Hugtto
A season that always keeps you guessing, also in the darker side and has the Fresh Precure producer, so the "sci-fi" aspect makes a big comeback. Requires a bit of attention from the viewer since some parts uses symbolism to explain plot points rather than just exposition.
>Star Twinkle
Star trek Precure with space adventures, it's unusual for Precure to have so many episodes "outside of Earth" (if you don't count the other show by the same main writer). Overall a well-balanced season that simply feels good to watch.
>Futari Wa
The OG of everything, has cool action and brushes in a lot of concepts that would be expanded in later seasons. Can be a bit undercooked in some aspects but it's still a good watch and the 2000s vibes feel nostalgic if you grew up with anime of that era. Protip: avoid watching S2 (called Max Heart) right after, it might burn you out.
>Mahoutsukai
Witch-themed season that feels like a soft throwback to Futari Wa in some places, but still defintiively very different. It got a 12 eps sequel season this year with the characters in their 20s.
>Kimi to Idol
Current season and a really fun time every week. The cures are popular with the public like celebrities, this aspect shows up here and there in a few seasons (like Fresh Precure) but they focus on it a lot more here, they aren't just heroes, they are idol heroes.
