Who are your favorite Tails voice actors? Mine are Corey Bringas and Ryo Hirohashi. I think those two have made the most cutest sounding Tails voices

As I was looking through the list of voice actors, I just learned that they used a boy VA again for Classic Tails in Generations in the Japanese version. That's a nice detail. This also means that, at least in Japanese, they intend for the Classic characters to have different voices, maybe that's one of the reasons they prefer to use them only in voice-less media if they haven't fully figured out how they want to handle it or which voice actors to use

Another thing that I only learned recently is that Tails' shoes actually have "laces" (not sure that's the best word) at the top. They're hard to notice because they're usually hidden by the top part of the shoes, they were made much less noticeable in his designs starting from Adventure, even more so in more recent games since Forces. However, it's actually pretty noticeable in the modern Classic Tails models In his original 90s design, they were a grayish blue. Adventure designs made them fully dark gray, and his 3D models in later games made them smaller or more hidden. The Generations-onward Classic Tails 3D models made them bigger again, and light blue, and that's how it looks in Superstars as well. However, it's more gray in the 2D Mania art It's interesting that they always made sure to keep it even in the modern designs, even when no one is going to see it or notice. I like how it looks on the Classic Tails 3D models a lot now that it has come to my attention, it's cute. I wonder how fans of blue shoes Tails feel about it

So one cool thing I've learned recently is that Sonic 2 8-bit isn't Tails' debut because it was released alongside the main 16-bit version. Some wiki pages stated it came out in October 1992, a month before the 16-bit version, but that's incorrect there's no proof of that, just wikis referencing each other.

I like that Tails programs a machine translator for an alien language, I think that's one of the coolest things he makes. Also a rare instance of him doing something software related (at least in the games, I don't know much about side media). People criticize the Miles Electric for keeping Tails out of the action, which is fair, but I think it's justified in a cool way in Colors. I love dark, gothic and dystopian sci-fi themes, i was thinking about making something based on nine as OC to fit inside my universe, i find the "small guy with a dark past" very cool and captivating. I've also learned something interesting. Tails' car in Sonic Drift is the MTP-01 Whirlwind S7, which is based in a real life car called the Lotus Super Seven (photo below), which is said to be Tails' favorite car which is pretty cool, didn't know he was into cars. The "MTP" are his initials of course, and the "S7" references the Super Seven. What's interesting is that in Sonic Drift 2 he has a different car, the MTP-02. I'm not sure if it's an upgrade to the MTP-01 or if it's a completely different model. Dunno why they gave Tails a new car in the sequel but not the other characters Finally the last image below is a very rare piece of official artwork. It was only used in a test disc for the Sega Saturn, and features Sonic and Tails in an actual Super Seven car. I'll try to find more information about when exactly was this artwork made

I wonder if Tails will appear in the manga. Tails is an easy character to include regardless of what the story is, and I think the first issue was focused on introducing Sonic since Japanese children are probably unfamiliar with him, the next issue might introduce Eggman and Tails

Tails is the best Sonic character. He can be used in any story and not feel forced, his main ability is woven into his design, easily recognizable silhouette as well as a great and unique color scheme. His backstory and motivations are simple and don't tie him down. Gameplay wise he's pretty fun in 2D, haven't been able to play as him in 3D. He also just... fundamentally works. Characters like Shadow, Blaze and Silver, which also have backstories, can't work in some settings. The story often needs to accommodate these characters in some way. But Tails is so flexible he's the go to for the supporting character His inventions and genius also serve him well. It can give the writer an easy excuse to give him new things to make and research, keeping things fresh similar to Eggman and his new robots. Of course it's not to the same extent as Eggman, but Tails' knowledge is also versatile. I really can't think of any flaws narratively wise. He's a character that grows and evolves, helping others and being friendly, and that simplicity makes him endearing

I just read that Sonic Team increased Tails' running speed for Team Attack Amigo. I wasn't sure if I believed it at first but I tried it myself and it seems to be true, it feels faster and better. I didn't notice before because I try to fly most of the time but it is a good change. I also just realized Tails' stages in the rest of the game don't make much use of dash panels, springs, and rails, but they are used much more often in Team Attack Amigo, and I think those also make Tails run faster on top of the increased running speed. In the base game I think the only Tails stage that uses them is Tails' Wave Ocean, which mainly uses dash panels and springs for some automated sections, but the playable parts still avoid using them. It seems the game design for Team Attack Amigo is a lot different than I realized, it's like they combined Sonic's style of level design with Tails'
