This is the only picture that I could find with a possible weapons loadout, look above the wing strut, going forward. This is not a standard Wren 460 feature, and if my memory serves me right, was removable and could either house a machine gun or a camera depending on the mission. I read it in a book from a veteran's memorial/library, which got rid of most of its books a couple of years ago. I would need to get a hold of a book (I forget whether it is the one by Thares Punsri from 2004 or Rach Ratanawan) before I can give you more accurate details. What I can confidently tell you is the the Wren 460 is not an ordinary 172. It has a lot of features like added strakes, vortex generators, enlarged flaps and elevator. It's also canarded. Not to hijack this thread, but the RTAF had some really cool equipment in the 1970s and 1980s including a single engine, miniaturized OV-10.

While it reminds me, I believe the Israelis mounted a bomb rack to a Bonanza (look under the wing's center section in this image, I am not quite certain what it is, but those are not the gear doors).
