Recommendations for tools / complete tool kits? /k/ommando 12/11/2022 (Sun) 22:48:31 No. 1286
Asking as a general question... Anyone have any recommendations on brands, kits, specific tools, etc. for the hobbyist and maybe even occasional pro? For me, it is more to do with maintaining a few AR's, Glock 19 & 43, 1911's, old-time Western-style weapons (Colt SAA, Ruger Blackhawk, Winchester 1894, Springfield 1873 Trapdoor) and a few other pieces in the collection. It is also about wanting to build more 80% lowers. Built an AR lower, and felt pretty comfortable doing so. Resulting rifle shoots as tight as my original Colt 6600 HBAR, but I built it. And, if I get good enough, maybe make a few dollars on the side helping others. So, any recommendations? The military small-arms armorers kits come to mind, but they're harder to find in complete / good condition or at a reasonable price (even beat up, they command high prices).
>>1286 > Recommendations I recommend you copy&paste your post on anoncafe. Moe /k/ is more of a throwback/bunker/shitposting hub at this point rather than a super dooper serious place, we only get a post or two a month. Well that's what I do personally is cross post between 8Moe and Anoncafe. Anoncafe's /k/ is a lot more lively, well compared this here anyway. https://anon.cafe/k/res/32204.html I dunno I just use Balistal and Hoppes stuff. If you really wanna maintain your funs keep them near a running fan or a dedicated moister control device thing of some sort since humidity is for obvious reasons no friend to your guns or knives, granted I wouldn't worry about your Glock rusting away any time soon unless you take it surfing and scuba diving with you every day but I'm sure it helps for some reason even though technically normal firearms are useless under water. Get yourself some kind of diving gun and go live off the fruits of the sea such as red snappers and Groupers, you know because I'd imagine spear guns are often times built with harsh corrosion prone environments in mind.... Unless you life in some landlocked country, that would render such a purchase pretty pointless less your very enthusiastic about it and can afford to fly often. Just go post on Anoncafe OP.
