This is a zero-effort bait thread, but I will say that I absolutely love a well-set-up 1911. As a range toy. If it runs reliably. It's a massive steel boat anchor with a single stack magazine, and lots of them really don't want to run worth a damn with ammunition other than roundnose FMJ. But if you get one with a good trigger, they are amazing fun to shoot. The trigger, once fitted properly, has short takeup and short tactile reset like very little else. I like them even more in 9mm. Heresy! I love fullsize "service" revolvers with 4" to 6" barrels, too. I love the Single Action Army and high quality copies of it. Would I take any of them to war? Of course not. They're toys for grownups, amazing fun at the range. Not everything has to be SRS BZNS all the time. Not every gun has to be ELITE TACTICAL SOCOM OPERATOR GRADE with rails and lasers and red dot sights.
