Old school that was closed 15ish years ago and was used as active shooter training by the police. Found a few live 9mm less lethal rounds on the ground, sadly all duds.

Abandoned house out in the woods. There were holes in the wood under carpet big enough for me to stick my fist through, but not a whole lot of animals inside. Someone had been there at some point to clean it, but with the amount of dust on everything, I figured it hadn't been touched in a few months. Pretty unnerving, it was fucking freezing inside. Outside it was maybe 75 or 80 degrees, yet I could see my breath inside the house. I'm not one to believe in ghosts, but the cold definitely bothered me. And no, there was no electricity or A/C. Local guy I met weeks later said it was a rental home, but that the guy who owned it died and that the property was in some kind of legal limbo. Might go back and take a look at it soon, see if it's still there.

Old Concrete factory that shut down in the 80s due to conflicts with the union. Used to be a lot bigger and a lot cooler before they tore down a bunch of it and added trenches to keep vehicles out, as can be seen in the first photo. HUGE area, never had the time to fully explore the surrounding quarries and forests due to how overgrown they are. There are still rumors of a set of caves/mines that have yet to be discovered, but I have my doubts if they can be found, and if they're safe for human exploration. Probably my favorite location, but I doubt I'll go back. Lots of armed rednecks, and I've had to talk my way out of trouble with them more than once. Would be cooler if it wasn't full of pitfalls, mud, and garbage from locals. There's a pile at the bottom of one of the cliffs that's 20 or 30 feet tall, and it's just garbage.

Sometimes you draw the short straw. Sometimes you draw a night patrol. Sometimes you draw night patrol by yourself, and it's the end of the month, so all you have are a handful of pistol cartridges, and you're in homeless crackhead bloodsucker territory. The tunnels under Agroprom are no place for cowards, but certainly a place for fools. There's another set of tunnels like this one, of similar size that I'm looking to explore if we get a streak of dry days. Tunnels like these are fun, you can spend as much time in them as you want, as long as the weather permits. If I can find a spot inside that stays dry all the time, I'll stow some stalker swag and post the coordinates for anyone who wants to try their hand at pretending to be Artyom from Metro 2033.

i desperately want to try this but there is not a whole lot around me, at least not worth going to. cool ones like a uranium mine and mill are right next to highways or populated areas or in injun territory. lots of asbestos too. fuck the southwest
