Boot Knife Thread /k/ommando 09/17/2021 (Fri) 22:39:33 No. 541
So you bought a pair of badass meme boots for when shit hits the fan, but what about a booy knife? Yeah you need one. So lets talk about boot knives. Oh and according to these dudes back of boot is best carry point. https://youtu.be/jGRDV5ip3UE

>>541 you know, you make a fair point about needing to carry an emergency knife, but that you picked some insanely faggy wigger libtard channel to assist point leads me to not want to do this because you think those fags have a single intelligent thing to say and that a bootknife is a good idea. so ill just elaborate on why thats a bad idea instead. why would i need a bootknife if i have a CCPistol? for that matter, why not carry a bootgun? i suppose im assuming we are talking about for EDC and not for boogerboy le big chungus WROL. hell even for a WROL scenario the only reason reason where a knife in your boot would serve a practical use would be if you are captured, and frankly the chances of you being captured and not killed in whatever hell penetrates the global nuclear peace we live currently live under seems very slim.
>>555 Okay the video did suck, but I couldn't find much on bootknives. Because honestly they are a really silly idea. Who uses them really? FBI Hostage Rescue Team, but generally not for killing people, just regular knife stuff like cutting cords, cables, rope. And in what situation would you need to do that and don't already carry a knife? So again little reason to exist. A nice fixed blade dagger style is always a good idea to have on you, in that if you ever needed to stab someone in order to have them not kill you, but there are better places to carry a knife other than the boot. The belt obviously leaps out as a better place to carry a knife. Also if you did any serious marching they would be incredibly uncomfortable carried in your boot. No I advocate a rifle, sidearm, backup sidearm, and a knife.s But bearing in mind the knife will almost probably never be used for anything more mundane than basic edc knife shit. If you did really wanna stab someone and have them die I think something bigger like a bowie knife worn on the hip would better serve your needs. But now we are getting into the subject of valuable belt space and whether you would be better served carrying more ammunition for your main rifle or sidearm, rather than a knife your only going to need on occasion. Idk. I do like knives though.

>>563 as fucking cool as bowie knifes are, you bring up a good point about belt real estate. i am of two minds for what would be a good candidate for a proper taggdickal kinfe; emphasis on edc or murderlizing someone real dead. in either case im shooting for minimum profile mind you, since we agree that gear real estate is very limited. Edc emphasis: glock knife. thin, but long enough to do some good cutting and serrated on the back, making it really good for starting fires and maybe cut some modest limbs. still capable of doing the slashy stabby, but the serrations are going to be a problem for doing very much stabby. stabby killy emphasis: fairbarin sykes: from what i understand its really good for the stabby stabby, and long enough to be good in the mythical knife fight that no one that isnt in prison or a gang will encounter. very thin so still not taking up much space. i think the more important point out of all this is that the belt you carry your gear on shouldnt also be the one holding up your pants, even for edc. cowboys figured that out ages ago. now how do i wear a belt with a bunch of shit hanging off of it without looking like a complete tool?
>>565 forgot to mention i found a neat site with lots of knifves on it in looking for these pictures https://www. fairbairnsykesfightingknives. com/thumb-daggers-etc.html
>>566 This gallery is oddly satisfying on a deep level. What is it about knives that so soothes the soul?
>>596 I don't know. Knives are just manly and satisfying. Plus you can use them for just about anything.
