it's honestly stupid that they're injecting things to try and build "lore" into it
like the foot sniffer, which requires you to go out of your way into a mechanic that as far as I'm aware is not even explained in hints, to get an egg, to raise this ugly pokemon thing that only serves the purpose of procuring otherwise impossible to obtain flowers with... no functionality, and look like something right out of botania
same goes for the sculk/warden undergrowth or whatever they call it, supposed to look like an ancient city, which on its own is
fine, it compliments the mine shafts and stronghold, but was added to expend on the whole "ancient builder race" lore they came up with and will continue to expand upon to shoehorn in more 2deep4u lore
honestly the more they add into it, the less intrigue the world has, like how increasing the world height created that sudden shift in old world saves, so does the introduction of "lore" elements fracture what was already there
it goes from being this mostly barren world, populated only by monsters, animals and the odd villager outposts, with rare things that just
suggest there was more to it as you explore, like the mineshafts, the rare stronghold, a witches hut, a booby trapped jungle or desert temple, a single desert well, and "dungeons" spawning monsters to protect rather unspectacular loot save for music discs, saddles, or a bit of redstone, or setting out to find that one mooshroom island, to being this cluttered
busy world where you can't go a few chunks without finding something, whether that be the abundance of villages, an illager outpost, an igloo in a frozen biome, that faggot wandering villager with 2 llamas that just shows up uninvited no matter where you are, the sculk that you can't seem to avoid no matter where you start digging, the abundance of animals in every biome, all the FISH which annoys me to no end since fishing still works as it did prior to fish entities, and the nether no longer just being a desolate hellscape but flourishing with life and roaming pig people, some additions to the nether were
okay, like the bastions, that volcanic rock biome, but it didn't need piglins outside of bastions, or the lush biomes with hoglins that piglins actively hunt (something I wouldn't even know about if it wasn't documented), but nothing feels scarce any more when you're
always encountering something, nothing feels out of the ordinary when you find something, it feels calculated and you know you'll encounter it again soon
