Gonna bitch about it here because everywhere else it will either get drowned out or ignored, but what is the appeal of le misunderstandings comedy like evil lord, eminence, strange grief, etc? Not only it's extremely repetitive with the same 2-3 jokes revolving around the MC, they tend to have no muh steaks because part of the joke is the MC will always bullshit out a victory while redoing the same joke as usual, no drama either because of zero romance, and the MC ends up largely a static being that doesn't change much if at all from volume to volume. Is it a translation thing? Are the translations for those really that fucking awful that they erase the entire appeal? I don't get the appeal of this shit.

Alright I'll use this thread for a while and blogpost, I finished the new モン肉 v5 >>3855 recently(pic not related to vol 5) The most interesting vol thus far, just in terms of wartime events MC and co have thus far completely stomped every single country but the war with Ronza which is full of people who actually have eaten monster meat for generations(though not as frequently as Farune's lunatics) was amazing. Without MC taking part in the beginning the story turned into a full blown senki without comedic aspects they just fucking killed and warred the shit out of each other especially the showdown between Frau and Ivanov was amazing no bullshit just full on brutal killing, they were more or less equal but they got owned by Ronza eventually which is really rare tbqh in these types of series, they got owned not just in terms of strength but in terms of tactics and technology like magitech. With Mars returning and tipping the scales things returned to form or so you'd think but no with him actually befriending Egor and them almost marching on his own country the story almost took a very insane turn kek. Also to think last vol's events Good shit. All in all with Ronza repelled and NotAmerica united it will be time to finish off Ronza next vol which is all but guaranteed at this point. Can't get enough of this guy Daken is really good and I prefer this series over who killed the hero tbqh.

They're afraid to seriously commit to anything, pathetic fucking generation. Can't even think of anything recent besides SnK that truly committed without giving a fuck.

>>4034 I took a course from a local Japanese center here. I find the courses in college don't teach you anything, since they only each you a few phrases. They don't teach you sentence structure, grammar (Japanese being Subject Object Verb pattern compared to Subject Verb Object), particle placement, formal and informal words and sentences, or tenses. I honestly need to do supplemental work. I got Genki, which focuses on the hand writing first then sentences, but I didn't do any work yet. There is online Genki resources as well: https://sethclydesdale.github.io/genki-study-resources/ Another option if you have the money is to enroll in a language school in Japan and stay in Japan for a few months. I would recommend that, since you are immersing yourself in the culture and language and you'll be forced to use it often. Make sure you do some research on the culture and etiquette first, so you won't act like a retard gaijin nigger. Some things to research: Perfume harassment (strong colognes, body sprays, deodorants and scents are considered very rude for one) and the shoe thing. A lot of gaijins during my trip to Japan didn't take their shoes off properly when entering the properties of Japan. Hope this helps.

I got a full beginner's course. Compare it to a semester in college where you barely learn anything. As for Genki, the Genki books focus on you remembering hiragana first, which I find helps in Japanese. So buying the Genki books and self-studying may help you, especially before enrolling into a Japanese language school in Japan.
