>I don't speak terminally onlinese, what are they angry about exactly?
They have been conditioned, by grooming and/or by overexposing themselves to extremists online, to see
any woman with certain features as lesbian. Short hair, a more commanding personality, a drive for leadership, etc. Tomboys in media typically have these things. When they saw this tomboy in question, they likely started gathering in their little circle jerks and made headcanons about how lesbian she is. This is where "coded" comes from; They believe that if a character shows signs of being lesbian in their eyes, the character is meant to be lesbian, even if the author never says so or directly demonstrates the opposite.
So when the game has a canon event showing the tomboy having sex with a man and not being lesbian at all, their fantasies are tainted and they go wild with rage.
They call anyone who doesn't agree "incels" because it's trendy among them. They have always defaulted to accusing their opponents of being virgins or not having sex regularly, as if this is supposed to be a damaging blow in an argument. Ironically, they are getting angry about a fictional woman having sex, which actually makes them incels, in a way.

><septum ring
>Dropped.
I haven't seen this character's design, but maybe the art director or someone else on the team wanted to give her a defining feature, and went with a nose ring, thinking it was a bit rebellious, or showed her confidence somehow. Or maybe the creator of the game has a fetish, that could also be it. Either way, it would be better if she never had one.

>they wear them as a middle finger to beauty standards. In that way, it's more of an ideological flag indicating to others what you believe.
Isn't there also a sexual connotation? Taking into consideration what noserings are usually for, which is leading cattle. Can't it also show that the person is sexually deviant, highly willing to be lead/pushed to do things in a bedroom setting? Of course, like with chokers, there are likely many people who get noserings and do not know all of this.
>how fucking mad would it make them if you end up dicking her so thoroughly in later chapters that you "tame" her and she eventually removes it on her own and tries to become the trad-wife in her own awkward tomboy way. Then call it "growing up" and maturing.
That's exactly what I thought when I saw those screencaps. Imagine some kind of epilogue, showing her on her wedding day or holding her fist child, clearly without her typical nosering. It would also be a basic yet satisfying way to show her growth as a character and as a woman.
