Café thread - Glorious freedoms edition Anonymous 01/19/2023 (Thu) 23:31:53 No. 2125
You can basically post about whatever you want here, though it'd be nice if it was /a/-related in some way of course but its no big deal. Feel free to suggest a different thread name/theme or something; didn't wanna just copy Smug's, but I felt the place needed a "general" thread for everyone.
>>2209 Did you watch it again yet? Have you read the manga? What do you think about swimming lessons?
>>2216 I'm watching it again, though I should maybe reread the manga.

Anyone know anyhting about Redo of Healer? I'm curious about it.
>>2239 Yes, its basically mostly hentai. I enjoyed it
>>2239 It's literally revenge porn. The sex scenes aren't as graphic as in hentai, but they're more explicit than the vast majority of anime made in the last 20 or so years. Personally, I enjoyed the show overall. The MC is unapologetically a sadistic fuck, which made for a nice change of pace from your typical MC, and the ways he gets revenge on the people who wronged him are fun and satisfying to watch.
>>2299 (double dubs) So does he start off a nice guy who gets shit on by a bunch of assholes? Or does it jump right to revenge plot?
Posting in a cafe thread.

>>2312 Indeed you are
Its crazy how many of my favorites, and anime I otherwise greatly enjoyed, that Madhouse has done. Each time I look them up I get surprised that they've done a series that wouldn't have seemed like it came from them. >Hajime no Ippo >Kaiji S1 and 2 >Hunter x Hunter 2011 >Death Note >No Game No Life >Gungrave (one of the only video game adaptations ever that was actually good) >OPM >Overlord >Monster >some of Hellsing Ultimate Its a shame they basically died after OPM and the only decent thing they put out now is Overlord seasons. At this point I'm wondering if they've even done a bad anime during their 2000s run.
(11.28 MB 960x720 Ideon OP.mp4)

Trying to find something new to watch so I've been checking out assorted things Space Runaway Ideon has a really good OP, better than I expected for the 80s, and its first episode was a good first impression; I might watch it later but considering its supposed to be quite tragic, maybe I'm not in the mood right now for such things. Anyone got suggestions for something in general to watch? Doesn't matter what genre or anything, as long as its good.
>randomly decide to check out a jewtuber yesterday >he does shit like hypothetical fights and conflicts between anime characters (e.g. could batman catch light yagami, how smart is L, Naruto v. DBZ shit), pretty autistic shit but I find it morbidly fascinating >seems like an alright dude generally, like some autistic imageboard shitposter <the next fucking day he's getting fucking cancelled Its just fascinating to me how even a community as retarded and autistic as that can have shit like this, ya can't make this shit up.
>>2416 Getting cancelled is mostly a meme. 9 times out of 10 if you just ignore the bitching people forget about it and move on in a few days. There have been twitch streamers accused of rape where optically it looked 100% like they actually probably were involved in some sort of rape that still have devoted audiences and barely lost any viewership. How did they get away with it? They shut the fuck up, ignored it, and kept streaming like it never happened. Worst case scenario you can only get cancelled if your persona or career depends on other e-celebs hanging out with you and you have no individual hold with any audience. But if you do solo content it's basically impossible to actually have spergs on social media crying about your behavior have any significant impact on your content. People don't not click on videos because they have some sort of moral qualms with a jewtuber. This has literally never happened. If anything it makes them more interested in your content. Also Light and L are both dumbfucks. I'll never understand why people make them sound like they are akin to super geniuses.
I've been looking through a shit-ton of anime this week (pretty much looked at all anime between 70s and the early 2000s) but haven't watched any, just been adding them to a "potential" to watch list fuck, I haven't done something like this in a long time and I forgot how unpleasant it was to do this shit, happened almost unintentionally since I just wanted to find some good shit to watch and not forget about them
>try to find some philosophical anime analysis on jewtube >its just a bunch of wannabe's projecting their favorite meme philosophers unto random shit, or soulless corporate-tier retardation Things like Evangelion are the worst for this, I have found pretty much no one who actually considers the important aspects in the work and instead focus on superficial shit or the stuff that attracts the most people Wasn't Eva in this particular case, but I was reminded of it while looking for other shit.
>>2525 Evangelion is the definition of pop-philosophy. Most anime falls into this trap actually, though I wouldnt necessarily say its always the fault of the author/director. Could be they just wanted to make a good story and it happened to attract faux intellectuals, though in Anno's case he was just a buffoon. What anime out there is actually more genuinely philosophical? Better yet, give me an anime that doesnt parrot surface level Buddhist or Shinto teachings and instead picks something a little more obscure if not something from the west.
I wish there was a way to make this board more active.
>>2528 There is
>>2529 I mean some actual promotion, one of the issues with 8chan is that it's extremely hard to promote niche boards since the website itself is in a bit of a rut.
>find funny Oblivion/Morrowind memer on YT >check his most viewed videos >"hairy female armpit compilation" >he made it to mock feminists >the comments are just full of horny people sometimes YT is something else...
I've been watching dumb cartoons from my youth during mealtimes as of late, I feel like I need something to do kek
what was your first hentai? What was your first ecchi manga?
>>2605 >hentai I don't watch those, I read doujins technically it might be either a clip of Lunatic Night or something along those lines though >ecchi manga ironically I did watch a few ecchi anime, but I don't really read ecchi manga at least that I can remember
Anyone got any anime-related jewtube content like analysis and whatnot worth recommending? I need something to listen to in the car while I'm driving.
>>2605 I honestly can not even remember. This does make me want to remember, but I got nothing. >>2546 There is far stranger and infinitely more disturbing shit hidden away on jewtube. Most people really are not aware of it at all which surprises me. >>2531 Everyone would rather bitch about where to agree on advertising the place so little gets done on that front. For now I just tell my friends about it when the relevant topics come up. Acid and friends should keep an eye out for communities that are getting disgruntled with their current sites and offer this place as an alternative. Lots of people would likely appreciate the freedom this site offers in comparison to normalfag shitholes.

>>2675 Depends on what kind of analysis video you want. Most of in depth anime analysis video either fall into the lol so random funny meme edit category where the youtuber is trying too hard, or into the fart huffing 2deep4u emotional "how x broke me" tier where again the youtuber is trying too hard. You'll have to try to surf few channels to find the right suit for you. I suggest going with the funnies first because atleast there's a chance they'll drop in a few good points here and there, while the art school guy will claim a simple point is the most profound thing ever
>>3016 I remember one time a guy on /b/ found an entire channel of a guy growing ticks in his arm. Even from the thumbnail, it had like 20 ticks, each the size of a neyeball, that completely covered his left hand and wrist. The video was titled "time to pick my bananas". To this day I get extremely creeped out thinking about it.
>>3018 You just described every single analysis video on YouTube then. Most of people talking hour long about any media whether video games, anime, songs, movies etc. are reddit intellectuals who want to appear smart. If you want to listen to good analysis look towards car videos, gun tubers, carpentry - fucking anything that involves manual labour which filters out 90% of these intellectuals. Car youtubers have gotten really good beyond reading off specsheet and into what's actually needed in driving.
>>3016 >For now I just tell my friends about it when the relevant topics come up. Good on ya anon >Acid and friends should keep an eye out for communities that are getting disgruntled with their current sites and offer this place as an alternative. Lots of people would likely appreciate the freedom this site offers in comparison to normalfag shitholes. Yep, agreed, though its also up to the anons as well to do their parts
>>3040 This /a/ could do well, compared to smug/a/ and animu if we can have daily threads and few long term ones
Happy Good Friday everyone.
>>3058 A bit late but ditto to you anon. Happy (soon to be) Easter. >>3040 >Yep, agreed, though its also up to the anons as well to do their parts True.
<Netflix’s One Piece Live Action Test Screening Reportedly a Slaughterfest of Bad CGI, Nonsensical Story >Recently, Divinity Seeker gave a scoop on the test screening of the live-action series by Netflix, where they stated that the show “tested horribly,” as the CGI was horrible and the story of One Piece made no sense to the casual viewers, hence every episode of the Netflix adaptation are being rewritten >Divinity Seeker stated that the first episode of the series heavily deviated from the source material. The first half of the episode was full of flashbacks of a young Monkey D. Luffy, and the other half of the episode quickly introduced the viewers to the first four crewmates of the Straw Hat Pirates >his source stated that the tone of the show is not working for them, and the looks of the cast were different from the original characters which added to the difficulty of the live-action series, making it inconsistent. And the Baratie restaurant would be featured in the third episode of the series https://archive.is/dEiWM
>>3111 (nice trips) Not surprising in the least. They proudly announced they were changing shit for no reason so it was kinda obvious it was going to be bad.
>>3112 Yeah I had nothing but the worst expectations for this. I really do not get why they keep trying and fucking up these live action adaptions. I guess they like pissing away their money.
>>3111 <Update >Greg Werner, an official collaborator for One Piece, debunked the rumors regarding the live-action's test screening performing poorly with audiences. In addition, as reported by ComicBook.com, social media users uncovered previously unreliable reports made by the Twitter account, calling into question the validity of any claims made https://archive.is/2HDnJ
