Japanese daycare/preschool/kindergarten Baby 01/04/2023 (Wed) 21:44:29 No. 21462
Where can I find pictures of the interior layouts of japanese daycares, preschools, and kindergartens? Include all necessary areas including play areas, entrances, diaper change areas, toilet areas, etc. Post any pictures you have or links to them with descriptions please.
>>21462 Google, nigger
>>21462 Where did you find this image? Who is the artist?
>>21468 This and I'm pretty sure they are pretty similar as ones elsewhere in the world. Much more crazy is those american overprotective soccer moms who strap their elementary school, even +10 year old kids in baby car seats =)
Try searching for something like 幼稚園 間取り図 (kindergarten floor plan) to get an idea of some typical layouts. Here are some photos I found of a very cute 子どもトイレ area. Note the bars in the first image are labelled as "standing diaper change".
>>21491 sauce.nao it it's an edited version of the original image i believe
>>21506 source of the images? is it a daycare, preschool, kindergarten?
also how do japanese kids enter and progress along the education system before elementary school?
>>21546 https://factsanddetails.com/japan/cat23/sub150/entry-2797.html >PRESCHOOLS AND DAY CARE IN JAPAN >JAPANESE PRESCHOOLS AND DAY CARE >Preschool Education in Japan >Hoikuen (Nursery Schools in Japan) >Japanese Day Care Centers >Pros and Cons of Day Care in Japan >Employees at Hoikuen (Nursery Schools in Japan) >Care and Curriculum at Japanese Day Care (Hoikuen) >Daily Life at Japanese Public Daycare (Hoikuen) >Food and Nap Time at Life at Japanese Public Daycare (Hoikuen) >Diaper and Toileting Policies at Japanese Public Daycare (Hoikuen) >Parental Duties at Japanese Public Daycare (Hoikuen) >One Year Schedule at Japanese Public Daycare (Hoikuen) >Other Pre-School Options in Japan >Plan for Tuition-Free Pre-Schools Eyed >Yokohama Method’ Eases Day-are Waiting Lists?
>>21546 I know there are up to three years of kindergarten (幼稚園), normally named 年少, 年中, and 年長. Kids start first grade in the year they turn 7, so kindergarten covers everything from 3 to 6 year olds. There are also 保育園 which are less educational and may take younger toddlers/babies too. >>21545 Looking at the source again it seems they might actually be bathrooms from a toy shop. http://www.m-and-a-net.com/case/5253/
do japanese kindergartens do diaper changes? source?
>>21752 The hundreds of mangas I've read seem to indicate that they do.
>>21752 I'm not sure how many will allow untrained kids to enrol, but hey all must have facilities to change diapers, since there will be a small percentage of kids who need diapers for medical reasons. Also they'd need to handle bedwetting during naps. There's no way they can expect 100% of their 3-6 year olds to not need diapers during naps.
>>21782 Like what?
>>21811 I don’t fucking know. Probably named Shingoku Taisen Zotsurru or some shit. It’s always the same. Some adult/older kid gets demoted back to diapers for whatever reason and sent to kindergarten because of it
>>21815 >>21811 Basically anything by Chijoku An
>>21752 Theres a link two fucking posts before yours explaining toileting policies in japanese daycare. And yes, of course they do diaper changes and potty training
>>21818 Thanks, but I was referring to kindergarten not daycare.
>>21868 Isn't that same thing? At least where I live theres just one daycare nursery kindergarten whatever, then one year pre school which I think nowdays is mandatory and then elementary school 1st class
>>21918 In the U.S., preschool is for 3 - 5 year olds and is not free, kindergarten is a single year, 5-6, before first grade and is a part of public education (though optional) In Japan, preschool and kindergarten are the same thing/place and I believe everything is paid for by parents until they start first grade.
>>21868 I think that article (or at least part of it) covers both daycare (hoikuen) and kindergarten (youchien).
>>21927 Im pretty sure that article only covers toileting policies for hoikuen not youchien
>>21926 Oh, that explains a lot. Thanks
>>21930 Ah, you're right. Here's one on youchien, but it also doesn't really mention diapers or bathroom policies: https://factsanddetails.com/japan/cat23/sub150/entry-2798.html Although both articles say that many places are becoming combined youchien-hoikuens, so they'd definitely take care of diaper changes.
