Amazing digital circus thread Anonymous 09/12/2024 (Thu) 08:57:21 No. 41197
Suprised 8/co/ didn't have thread about it yet. Despite the annoying and underage fanbase the show ain't that bad. Despite the occasional lore fagging I enjoyed the two episodes. also ragatha is best girl
Good episode today, maybe a little too much talking. We got the return of Evil Pomni and a setup for a potential Kane abstracting.
The sixth episode was slightly too big to post at any higher resolution, so it's in 144p.
So Jax and that frog were fuawkin right?
>>55992 Pure 2009 shitty internet watching... it's a bit nostalgic
>>55999 They physically can't.
>>55991 I want Jax to abstract because he's annoying and because it'd be the most poetic considering how hard he's trying to pretend he doesn't care about anyone else. The idea of him finally accepting that what happens in the Circus does matter and that he's fucked his own digital life up by being such a prick constantly and pushing everyone away, and that everyone is actively avoiding him because of his own actions would be great. Alternatively, my pet theory is that abstracting is temporary and that maybe the physical changes could be permanent, but the insanity part could be temporary, meaning that Caine has a bunch of mostly sane but fucked up looking people stuck in whatever place he sends abstracted people to. I have no evidence for this, but it would be fun in the most awful way.
>>56042 Abstracting just seems like the digital version of hollowing from Dark Souls, when you lose your sense of purpose and then swiftly after your sense of self.
>>56011 I found this scene incredibly funny. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5nmaVYaiBJQ
>>56042 I like Jax. I think him talking about abstracting this episode was a red herring. He was obviously unpleasant to be around, but that's how he has been. Of course, "abstracting" could just be having a mental breakdown about one's grounding in reality. Gangle at Spudsy's and Jax this episode were both close to losing their identities. Something I found interesting was that Jax was referenced as the youngest out of them. I hadn't thought about how old the characters are, so I looked into it. Apparently, from oldest to youngest, it's Kinger (48)>Ragatha (30)>Gangle (26)>Pomni (25)>Zooble (22.5)>Jax (22)
>>56076 The point is he's absolutely the closest to abstracting because he bottles up his emotions & deliberately hides everything behind a facade. When Pomni broke that, he couldn't handle it.

This sequence is still adorable.
>>56081 Caine's been shown glitching since episode 3 and getting desperate in episode 5. Then the latest episode pretty much removes all doubt he's gonna abstract. Overall I'm mixed on the show. It's a big step up from Murder Drones, which was bad in everything but animation, but it still has some glaring flaws. The worst flaw they carried over was doing mystery boxes instead of world building. It makes any kind of speculation meaningless, even if you have an inkling of what the writer intended. On the other hand, the character writing improved by a lot and it had a few great moments, the animation is stellar and the shot composition can be really creative at times. I enjoyed about half of the episodes.
>>56118 meant for >>55991
>>56118 GLITCH is getting better at animating, but Anon... GLITCH is mostly for production coordination and animation. TADC and MD are handled by different showrunners. MD was their first project that wasn't in-house, so things were obviously bumpy. TADC has more eyes and fans and someone with over a decade animating at the head of it. It's a straight "X walked so Y could run" scenario.
>>56120 My bad, I thought they had the same director. The criticism still stands, though.
>>56122 >director Meant to say showrunner. I'm tired today

I watched the 1st 2 episodes and didn't really care but recently saw the rest and really like it. It really feels like the show of the moment. Like when somebody in the future asks what 2025 was like, just show them this. Wish it wasn't so obvious with it's 'serious' moments though. That makes it seem more like a kids show more than the jokes and visuals
>>56140 The whole "happy go lucky characters are actually tormented or evil" is hit with the kids at the moment. Glitch has been fairly good at maintaining a balance, only time will if thetly fall off or troon out.
>>56144 Troon out? The creative lead for this show IS a troon. You can already tell Zooble is sublte tranny shit. Another reason it perfectly captures the current year
>>56144 >"happy go lucky characters are actually tormented or evil" Yes, this is what I dislike about glitch and indie animation in general. It’s like a distorted photocopy attempt of replicating the character arcs from early 2000s cartoons and anime without understanding what made either work.
All of GLITCH's shows so far have been run by men on the autistic spectrum (with one side being normal autists and the other being trannies who lost to autism). If you want to see the difference between indie animation made by autistic men and women, compare Vizie's work to anything made under GLITCH so far. >>56144 Zooble is a repurposing of one of Gooseworx's previous characters, and Gooseworx is a troon. It just so happens that Gooseworx is a creative troon. This obviously isn't what you mean by troon out, but it's worth mentioning.
>>56157 Vivzie's not autistic. She's just an asshole.
>>56145 - >>56157 Zooble is subtle to our eye but is generally harmless. She gets no special treatment and gets equally abused along with the rest of the cast. She's still a red flag and at any moment can start spouting libshit bullshit. Only time can tell whether they play Zooble straight or "Troon Out".
>>56076 how does this make any sense, zooble acts like a frustrated middle aged woman and used to work on a bar.
>>56283 It could be interpreted as a moody twentysomething hopping from job to job (bartender and tattoo artist being just a few)
>>56284 lol bartender and tattoo artist are both not only well paid, but take time and dedication. These aren't dead end jobs or like frying chicken
>>56286 >>56284 Starbucks counter girl.
I just don't get it. What is the appeal of this show? Or any fucking modern internet cartoon sensation for that matter.
>>56289 Same shit with every lowbrow content: Forced Meme
>>56289 is kinda like toy story if you think about it. Childdish thing is actually le deep and dark
(1.53 MB 505x337 Deep Dark Fantasy.gif)

>>56294 >deep and dark
>>56289 I haven't watched it but I think the red ribbon girl and the triangle girl are hot.
>>56174 It's already pretty libtarded with all the therapy talk scenes that just beat you over the head with the point. But EVERYTHING is libtarded now. You live in the libtard regime. The only way shit stops being libtarded is if the regime changes. People are stunted and act like it's still 2013 and it's just some individuals you can swap out.
Hello Niggerpill
>>56289 It's lorefag baiting. Their entire business model is scattering a bunch of "hints" that content farm channels can mine for theorycrafting, getting free advertising.
>>56376 I mean there's baiting and then there's world building. The whole series set itself up as a mystery; how will Pomeni get home, how did this place come to be...etc. Lore baiting would be dumping a bunch of useless info and expecting a youtuber to explain it, fnaf style.
>>56120 So do they animate everything themselves or outsource to Worst Korea?
