GamerGate Panel at Arch Anime Veteran Leader of GamerGate 06/05/2016 (Sun) 00:33:34 Id: 86f8d7 No. 324739
I have done some minor editing, mostly to clear up background noise (there is still a faint static that I couldn't get rid of) and amplify the volume at certain parts. At the beginning we had about 15 at the panel and when we ended it, we had about 13. Overall I think it went pretty well, even though I was a little nervous in the beginning. This is my first time running a controversial panel like this and I tried to present the main arguments that both sides make as best as I could, even if I didn't agree with the anti-GamerGate arguments. There were no issues with bomb threats, fire alarms or any social justice warriors trying to disrupt the panel. >There were no issues with bomb threats, fire alarms or any social justice warriors trying to disrupt the panel. This fascinates me and is worth study & discussion. •Did you have to submit a panel/syllabus to a convention committee for approval? •Was you panel & description printed or listed in a convention schedule/handbook? (requesting pics for victory) •What was your attendance estimates, with a rough estimate on the gender split? Average age? Ethnicity? •Did you have any follow-up discussions as the panel ends? (that meatspace period where door volunteers are filing people out, tech guys come in to setup the next panelists, and an attendee has more questions/comments where they can approach you directly off the record) •Have you had any followup feedback on the convention's forum/website/surveys since this event occured? To have this opportunity to discuss events unopposed is a pretty big deal, and the more it happens, the more we can collectively fix the narrative & clean up the history books now that the SocJus crowd isn't able to blanket every speaking opportunity with horseshit.
Congrats at doing this. Surprised they let you, maybe it means some of the stigma is waning. Nice to see that you're at least still trying to do stuff, even if there isn't much.
>>324775 I shouldn't have to go to plebbit for answers. IT was roughly 15 people in attendance, versus the convention having 600 people as a rough estimate. I didn't read more, because plebbit is a blinding white shithole of bad formatting.
>Did you have to submit a panel/syllabus to a convention committee for approval? Nope, only a very brief (few paragraph) description and name of the panel, as well as who the panelists would be. >Was you panel & description printed or listed in a convention schedule/handbook? (requesting pics for victory) It was, I don't have the panel book on me, but here is the page on the website: http://archive.is/oBZMi#selection-581.0-584.0 >What was your attendance estimates, with a rough estimate on the gender split? Average age? Ethnicity? About 15 people when we started, about 12 when it ended. A couple of people came and left halfway through, but for the most part the audience stayed. There were only about 300 people at the convention total and the panel was at 8PM, after the con began to die down. Average age was pretty young, probably late teens, early twenties. To start we had two women in the audience and one African American person. Everyone else was white, but we did have three other girls join the panel halfway through. >Did you have any follow-up discussions as the panel ends? (that meatspace period where door volunteers are filing people out, tech guys come in to setup the next panelists, and an attendee has more questions/comments where they can approach you directly off the record) Yep, we talked a little bit before and after the panel. A few of us also went to the bar afterward. >Have you had any followup feedback on the convention's forum/website/surveys since this event occured? I talked to a few people on Reddit (who watched the video), about it, but not much outside of that. None of the people in the audience have contacted me since the panel.
