>Itagaki himself said that he'd rather make a game designed from the ground up to take advantage of the DS's unique features than just make a downgraded version of his Ninja Gaiden reboot
That's regarding the DS, a completely different system than the PSP. In addition, he
also said that he designs games for portable systems differently than he does for home consoles. A philosphy that several Japanese developers have because they see portable experiences as something you typically play for 5-30 minutes (Because that's how long a train ride is from home to work in Japan) compared to the hour or two people spend playing on home consoles. However that hasn't stopped companies from porting everything in Japan such as
Tales of,
Tekken,
Kenka Banchou,
Dynasty Warriors,
Way of the Samurai, and so on.
>then the latter ported both it and the first Sigma to the Vita with even worse fluctuating resolution AND framerates
Anon, both
Sigma games are remakes as KT lost the code to the original games. Even then, KT is known to have terrible optimization skills if you haven't heard the issues they have with the various versions of their
Musou games. It becomes less an issue of hardware and more that devs don't really know what they're doing after a certain point.
>7th Gen DOA5 lacks the Soft Engine
Okay, and? So does the PC version.
>Bayonetta 3 has a bunch of big arenas for large demon vs enemy combat and with all the weapon, moves at your disposal, visual effects, it's unable to reach 60fps with the game looking worse than its predecessor.
Then that's on Platinum. Fighting giant monsters in huge arenas have been standard for character actions games since the PS2. If they cannot make it work on systems that are dozens of times more powerful, then they're the ones at fault.
>And I already gave the example of Dragon's Dogma which was 30fps that would grind to slideshow levels if you went all out with magic casting
And, as I keep repeating, that's on the developer. Just because a specific company is unable to optimize their code and game correctly, that doesn't mean everyone else is incapable of achieving it.
In addition to that, there's the ever increasing issue that there is
ZERO reason for these games to be so damn demanding to the point that they "break" even the latest hardware when earlier titles contained these same aspects (Even superficially) on far less powerful systems.
If you're the same Anon I think you are, we keep budding heads over this time and time again, and you
STILL fail to grasp this very simple realiztion that everyone else has:
There has been nothing truely new in video games for the past 15-20 years. If a company is stating that they need more "power", they're either lying or are staffed by retards who have degrees in Unreal or Unity.
That's it!
