>accusations of being a white nationalist movement
This is one of the most shameless lack of self-awareness I've ever seen.
8chan was supported by KiA and GG twitter, despite all the slander against it, with /pol/ being one of the top 2 biggest boards on it, people were aware of /pol/.
Obviously not "everyone" was willing to work with /pol/, but general sentiment towards them was positive.
Compare /pol/ types with shit like /leftypol/ types aligned with GG like Paps, who ended up betraying GG and trying to claim GG's characters as his own.
/pol/, as in actual /pol/acks who came with >us and not D&C shills or retarded newfag spergs, never did and frequently showed up in the GG threads of the past.
/pol/ was by far, the biggest supporter of GG on the site, and vice-versa. They came in the same exodus for a reason.
Saying people "distanced themselves from /pol/" because of accusations is bullshit because GG was being called the same things if not worse.
Did you forget the "worse than ISIS" label that was given to GG?
>doxing journos
There was no official efforts to do so, but in either case. Doxxing was not illegal, everyone gets doxed and got doxed during that time.
The journos have done
far more doxing and far worse things to the site and GG individuals, like swatting, CP false-flagging, collusive slander, calling in fake bomb threats, etc.
Did you forget the time when the NYT doxxed every gun owner in NY at around that time?
These are not scrupulous individuals you're dealing with, some of the more extreme elements of /pol/ (if they were even legitimate to begin with) trying to fight fire with fire is hardly something to act so retarded about.
Yes, /pol/ had some types that people would call unsavory, but that is ultimately irrelevant because 8chan and 4chan as a whole were considered unsavory regardless, unless you don't think people wouldn't treat you the same way you would treat /pol/, if they could look at your history of posting the word "nigger".
Have some grace towards your allies instead of being such a pathetic faggot.
GG was never a harassment campaign, and was cleared by not only numerous statistical analyses and anecdotal analyses at the time, but even the fucking FBI of all things.
The revoltards were not /pol/, they were /pol/ wannabes who were more interested in drama and shitflinging than anything productive.
They just wanted the edge of /pol/ 's tone and used lingo and symbols to attract people to them on the imageboard, but in case you forgot, /pol/ was
vehemently against e-celebs and drama, even more than GG or /v/ was and was actively disgusted by such things entering their board.
Revoltards, on the other hand, are obsessed with those things. That is an irreconcilable difference.
