The worldbuilding was done well and was really engaging. One of the most recognizable items from fictional media, the pokeball, was nowhere to be seen and yet the whole setting felt natural, it still felt like Pokemon. The didn't force things and try to establish some alternate universe concept, it was simply a different region, and it was implied people just did things differently there. Back years ago, it honestly seemed like more fun to be a Ranger than a Trainer. Going around solving problems, gaining the help of the local pokemon to assist you, along with your one loyal partner. A ranger game wouldn't really work on the Switch 2's touch screen. Some other mechanic would have to be used to capture pokemon, one that felt like the player was controlling the styler without using the stylus in real life. Seems like a tough thing to figure out, which is probably one of the reasons why another game hasn't been made. Maybe some sort of inputs would show up on screen, sort of like a fast and simple quick time event? Though I could see that getting old very fast.
