Magic's been tainted/lost for ages. A while back, they did an expansion set that was done by SJW artists who decided to make it 100% all minorities art-wise because the artists were anti-white assholes who wanted to make Magic more or less minority friendly. A Magic exec found out their plans, ordered that they change the artwork to add some white people in the card art. Anti-white SJW artists revised one (and only one) card, that didn't have a human character on it, and all they changed was add a dead white guy in the art. The executive who opposed them was then quietly fired from the company because the artists threatened to quit in mass and make a huge stink about WotC being racist and anti-people of color even though they the artists were the ones who were acting like racists and bigots
