SJWs attacking the source- Leader 06/19/2017 (Mon) 04:49:18 Id: e2a345 No. 330858
Mod edit: A Plan Has Been Formulated. See The following shortcut and do your part after reading! >>331188 ——————————————————————– http://www.oneangrygamer.net/2017/06/nintendo-localizers-now-work-with-japanese-devs-to-censor-games-for-western-culture/33309/ http://archive.is/Nl9i3 >“When we have costumes or clothes that we have a little concern with, we share it with NoE and NoA and they’ll say, ‘No, no, that’s fine’ or ‘You’re right, that’s an issue.’ If it is an issue, we’ll go back and say we’ll say, ‘We adjusted it this way, what do you think?’ There’s a lot of back and forth in that sense. Rather than compromise, it’s like we’re all aiming for the same goal, of being able to provide a good experience for everybody in all regions. And we’re aiming to have a game that has very little difference between the regions.” The language barrier has been used by SJWeebs and translators to tell Jap devs one thing, while another happens in the west. In fact, a Jap politician had to point out in their parliament that the American MSM called the election so wrong that why should they trust their word on other matters. We know that this is the start of a slow-boil tactic to be applied over generations to Japan (possible combined with Olympics to cuck and de-homogenize them) until they make the same shit western AAA currently do. This isn't like South Korea who got lucky and managed to throw out their leader. This isn't like America where their leader's mere existence is making the mouth-pieces so mad they're destroying 20 years of marxism. This is a nation who aren't prepared for a concentrated effort to undermine them. And being the world is turning away from globalism- they will focus on new foot-holds. What this OP entails or needs is unsure right now.
What this OP entails or needs is unsure right now. - Torrential Downpour of the game's censorship. Worked for Xenoblade Chronicles: X. Poor sales due to cutting down content will show push-back to it. - Information campaign letting people know Treehouse are basically "designing" the games now (this hyperbole should be toned down though or not)- and marry it to examples of their puritan censorship. Also, compare sales of "risque" games (Not even Bayonetta- stuff like Shantae even) to censored games. - Additionally, compare sales of games that refused to censor (Neir and Persona 5) to games that are confirmed to play it safe (if we can't confirm censorship we must now assume all Nintendo titles that aren't kiddy games have been censored or modified by NoA/NoE.) - Get translation of messages to post on 2ch, explaining (A) Western Gamers do not want censorship- it's just western media making bad voices louder. And (B) get them to complain and make their voices heard since it fucks them over. - Get translation of messages to send to NoJ- explaining we don't want NoA/Treehouse/NoE designing shit. I'm less keen on this since the best way to explain this phone-book of a fuck up is having Mombot and Ronin sit down with someone at Nintendo- and that shit is unlikely to happen. In addition, Nintendo don't respond to messages outside of Japan. Then again- we took down adverts with a few emails and letters, so who knows. - A constant barrage of infographs on Treehouse being fuck-ups. We need anti-advertising. We get mad, normalfags even realize it's shit, Nintendo loses money. tl;dr Contact Japan /v/ to spread the word End Treehouse. Demand no more localization. Only translation. Demand no one without developer knowledge can have a say in the game's content. IMO- Priority 1 is spreading the news to Jap otaku. They're already pissed about Tokyo's mayor's comments about "cleaning Akhibara" for the Olympics- and Otaku Rage is surprisingly powerful (even if they don't believe we're not all SJW, they can be a powerful ally).
Talking to Japan Get our translators in on this: http://twitter.com/mombot/ http://twitter.com/roninworks/ (don't forget the S at the end. Ronin Works.) They can aid us. They might not help us translate directly, but it's a start. Hell, even talk to the "learn to speak Japanese" anons in those threads for aid. What we need to explain. > What is an SJW/Marxism. > Why they care about games. > Why they want to censor games. > How they do this without Japan devs realizing most people don't want it. > Why translators don't tell them the truth. > A translation of the OP article. > How this news affects Japan and Japanese games (over generations). > How Japan can help. And before the Japan anons tell the poster to fuck off as they think we're all SJW. And all not too long so it's just ignored like other long posts on message boards. This can be partly achieved via RoninWork's posts: http://roninworksjapan.tumblr.com/ Pastebin of articles in order: https://pastebin.com/giRWa8yr But they are lengthy. > Reference points. Japan's SJWs are called "SEALDs" and are infamous for shit like killing old people to "help" them. In addition, explaining what happened with Hiroshima (or the actual name of cuckchan's new owner) and GG getting banned might help grab their attention. "Enemy of my enemy" and all that. > Example Draft I've made a short rough message that might need cleaning up and proper translation. > Not all of the west hates sexy things. > We're fighting people in power and spoiled rich kids who want to kill artistic expression so it's easier to get mad at people for liking "bad" things. > They do this to shut people up, so they can force their way of how the world should be onto others unopposed. > They do this with political opinions as well. Eventually, you're mocked for what you like & believe and can't fight back. > To limit expression- this includes games. Japan does a lot of stuff (particularly with sexy characters) that they don't like. > Since western gamers tell everyone if the game is censored and the game doesn't sell- they want to make the developer censor the game as it is made. > This means you will get the same censored game as the west!! > Also, if they get away with censoring some games in development today, they'll slowly increase their influence to other companies over generations (so no one notices or complains). > If not stopped, in 20 years Japan could make boring, easy, child-friendly games like Western devs now! > Please demand Japanese devs (especially Nintendo) avoid working with Westerners- especially if they tell them to censor content. > We don't want this. They take advantage of the language barrier to feed Nintendo bosses lies. > Westerners love Japanese games because it's something we don't see in the west. No one in the world makes games like Japan. > We are GamerGate. Our enemies have taken the fight to Japan. We need your help! Then post it with the most animu picture of Vivian we have. Lewd motivates them. Maybe Gilda as well.
Additional Notes THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE AND WE HAVE A PRIME EXAMPLE Star Ocean 5 censored one of the character's panties with puffy pants. The Japs thought she looked like she was wearing a diaper. And (despite having a character with diamond fish net/cat-suit with many holes) the game flopped. 1. Shows developers what censorship gets you. 2. Shows Jap anons what SJW will demand of their games. Nintendo have been chosen since their "family friendly" image in the west is easy to censor. No one would ask to put something sexy into a kids hobby that's just weird. In addition, Nintendo built up a warchest thanks to the Wii's casual and family sales. I remember an article years ago stating Nintendo could have 5 or even 10 concurrent "bad years" and still be fine. An exaggeration perhaps, but I can see Nintendo lying about profits on censored games so others join in. There was also that BBC article a while back of the interviewer trying to pin actual adult ecchi stuff as child porn talk about missing the wood for the fucking trees. That's another good comparison to make. [Pic related] to scare nips as examples of what SJW want. Hypothetical Frame-Work from an anon: >Eight contributors: An English editor, a Japanese editor, three Japanese creators and three English creators. >A dual-language blogsite with a Youtube channel. >The whole thing piggybacks off #GG's social network to spread information. >Builds credibility for a few months by just doing news coverage of the localization issue, then starts contacting English localizers and Japanese developers for interviews. >Using the inside contacts developed, starts carefully collecting information about SJW changes made to games. >We weaponize this intelligence, and they report it to Japanese audiences for us. Another tactic regarding third parties: > At least one "good" thing about Nintendo is that they are extremely soft on third parties while at the same time they won't allow their first party games be third party games on other platforms. That makes them vulnerable. If they absolutely refuse to listen then we can always take the battle to the third party developers and ask them not to make their games Nintendo exclusives and not to censor them on other platforms even if they must be censored on Nintendo console. > Having a competitor that was looser on censorship is what broke NoA powerhold back in the 90s and this time it would be a lot harder to try throw the entire industry under the bus like they did back then. (1993 NoA head Howard Lincon and the Senate Hearings over violent videogames) Nintendo also has shareholders who are actual fans. Allegedly (from an anon) > A share is only like $30, IIRC, and it's very easy to prove you own at least one. Of course, Ninty won't listen to a guy with one share. But if that guy talks to other guys, until guys with more shares bring up their concerns, then we have an in. From an anon RE: what Jap anons think of the west and GamerGate: > This is great but 2ch hates foreigners telling them what to do. […] > Japanese outlets have portrayed gamergate in a largely negative light from what I've heard. You don't want to mention they are from GG. > I almost think it'd be best to mention that an American acquaintance sent you an article about video games. IMO- this could backfire if a mod reveals the post comes from an American IP address. How likely is that? If nothing else, opening with "Westerns are coming for your games" might be the best way to open. I don't like not speaking clearly, but if we have to use their bias for the greater good- then we can explain when shit calms down.
And as always, they copy the communists.

>>330859 >Torrential Downpour of the game's censorship. Worked for Xenoblade Chronicles: X. Poor sales due to cutting down content will show push-back to it. I feel like this is our best weapon. TD speaks softly and is the giant stick we carry. I also pitched a sort of a reverse OP Around the World where we email bomb Nintendo, but you've already touched on why that's an issue: We need to translate everything for Japan/Nintendo to pay attention. Points three and four are excellent, but the language barrier is HUGE. As for points two and five, we might as well do those too. I feel like the infographics I'm working on for First Dawn can be tweaked for the purposes of this new OP. I have a basic design that I think will be able to really help. Before I present anything though, I want to make sure we have a clear message. Are we going the route of "Look at Nier, Persona etc." then saying "see why we don't need censorship?" ? Or will we take a bit of a different approach? I want that hammered out before I start churning out OC. >>330861 << Is she the one you're talking about?
>>330861 The Switch also has no region locking. >The Switch doesn't need region locking if there's no difference between the Western and Japanese versions >It was in front of us the whole time. Another anon responds: > What did you think "globalism" is actually about? Why did you think the clique got pissed off and desperate when their shakedown scam against P5 did not work? > This is not even just about nintendo, not by a long mile. This is, and always was about grabbing control. We want to drive home past scams (like P5 being fine) and especially how Western people who can't dev want to control Japanese devs That alone will piss them off.
>>330863 IMO- Japan need to solve this issue themselves or leave them at risk of future attacks. We can tell the west how bad it is, but it means nothing if Japan hears nothing about it (as they often don't). Priority should be: 3 > 4 > 2 = 1 > 5 But to each their own. > Are we going the route of "Look at Nier, Persona etc." then saying "see why we don't need censorship?" ? Or will we take a bit of a different approach? That, along with how well they did and how strong an audience they built by standing their ground. Same applies to XSeed and PQube. Show how censorship causes backlash, and how pure translation causes no issues. And yeah, her.
>>330865 I can start throwing something together then. Do we have images of sales numbers, or the devs being quoted as saying "Holy fuck this was a monumental success?" ? Because that'll be the meat of the OC. Right. She was criminally under-lewded.
>>330866 XSeed and PQube have had articles in the past of them saying they'd never censor and thanking the community. P5's director wrote a short thank-you image on twitter for the positive feedback the game got. Honestly, you'd be better checking metacritic for user-scores I reckon. Any sit-rep on translations?
OK so I have this: >Got a thread up on 2ch's /games8/ board (Pretty much, their English gaming board): https://agree.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/games8/1497852397/ But no clue how to reply.
>>330860 Additional to what we need to explain If you can combine points, even better. >cover the basics on SJW, Treehouse and the people going after japanese games >Explain what they're trying to do and what they want to achieve >Throw in some infographs on previous Treehouse's endeavours and other similar shitstorms >Add some OC for good measure
Simplification of informing Japan 1. Translate quote, below (more of article if you can). >“When we have costumes or clothes that we have a little concern with, we share it with NoE and NoA and they’ll say, ‘No, no, that’s fine’ or ‘You’re right, that’s an issue.’ If it is an issue, we’ll go back and say we’ll say, ‘We adjusted it this way, what do you think?’ There’s a lot of back and forth in that sense. Rather than compromise, it’s like we’re all aiming for the same goal, of being able to provide a good experience for everybody in all regions. And we’re aiming to have a game that has very little difference between the regions.” 2. Translate Treehouse examples (visual examples are better. Xenoblade X Chronicles for example. Maybe Bravely Default 2 to show that NoA does in general?) 3. Work out how the fuck to post on 2ch.
Googled "how to post on 2chan" and dumping this: https://wakaba.c3.cx/soc/kareha.pl/1322174798/ > Does 2chan or 2 Channel have a board non-Japanese can post on? Posted links (bare in mind 2ch hates gaijin, so whether they read those posts or not is a gamble): http://kamome.2ch.net/english/ > alternatively a lot of japanese use: http://10ch.org/gazou/ > Yeah, both of them. http://toki.2ch.net/dejima/index.html > I've actually posted here before. It's slow as shit though. So don't expect a speedy reply soon (or ever). It's pretty much an /int/ board. oniichannel.org appears to be dead. Also- so we're all on the same page: 2channel: http://www.2ch.net/ Futaba: http://www.2chan.net/ What do we want? Both? And do we need a proxy?
I posted to 2Chan and clicking the submit button just gives you an error. I found the games board (third column from the left, third up from the bottom). And this is the message: https://pastebin.com/X8XsLSEp
OK- with some experimentation (trying to post in a thread) it seems 2chan blocks all non Japanese IP. You need a proxy/IP changing thing to specifically look Japanese. Or whine at Mombot/Ronin until they halp.
Examples of US censorship Please post more Articles with a * are Treehouse/Nintendo based (made by Ninty or a Nintendo console exclusive. > Tokyo Mirage Sessions* > Fire Emblem Fates* > Fatal Frame 5* > Star Ocean 5 > Bravely Default 1 & 2* > Xenoblade Chronicles X* Image/meme to make It will probably have images. >before >America [Censored] vs. Japan [Uncensored] >after >America AND Japan [Censored] >"This is what your game is going to look like" Then a link to the (translated) article. The above can also work for comparing dialogue- but involves translating the western version into Japanese- and a lot can be lost in translation. The visual side is the bigger focus. Anon posts: > I also think a key part that's missing is the western SJWs operating behind closed doors with the Japanese game makers deliberately lying on what the people want & if it bombed they'd go "That's because you didn't censor hard enough" (And then it becomes a game of 'Remove everything because the San Fran dykes are mentally unstable who can't tell reality from fiction')
The original tweet to share around: https://twitter.com/OneAngryGamerHD/status/876597600732012545 The original article was by Kotaku, but Nintendo everything is what OAG sources: http://nintendoeverything.com/monolith-soft-on-xenoblade-x-western-changes-nintendo-europe-handling-xenoblade-2-nintendos-localization-process/ They have a twitter account, but no tweet I can see: https://twitter.com/nineverything Further, OAG hammers the issues home better IMO.
Breath of the Wild didn't have many changes. Except from bad/middling VA work, and the odd change to the subtitles. Proof they make changes just' to legitimize themselves and get paid? Other points are stronger.
There's also this- which gives a mixed message about the violence (they want that cut too) and focuses only on sex. However, it might resonate with Japan more, as dismemberment gets you a hard adults-only rating in Japan. In fact, could we even post this webm to 2chan? And shows the SJWs current goal: Sex and culture elimination.

Here is the first draft of an open letter to NoJ management and Japanese gamers. It may be best to make a picture out of it because it will require images of treehouse's butchery of Fire Emplem Fates. Greetings Nintendo Management and Japanese Gamers, It has been discovered that Japanese games are going to be under attack by people who are ridiculously easily offended and hold a cult-like "progressive" mentality. These people are a miniscule minority that have forced themselves into key positions of power in the west. Namely in Public Relations and as translators or "localizers" which work at Treehouse and 8-4. In the last number of years incompetent "localizers" have been doing their inferior work by doing a number of things; Asserting their ideology into Japanese games when they are translated by removing functions found in the original Japanese release such as removing head patting and breast size adjustment [Insert pictures here] These localizers have also replace key dialogue with unfunny and dated jokes (or memes). [insert "……" pictures here] The Public Relations departments in Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe have misled the Nintendo management as to why gamers here in the west were upset. They have told management that the gamers are upset that the American and European games released are too different from the original Japanese versions. What the management were not told was that the gamers were upset because the dialogue and characters were unnecessarily butchered by the localizers which coincidentally made the games vastly inferior and different from the original versions. Because of this misinformation, Nintendo has decided to make the games more similar in content, not by replacing these ideological localizers but by using the localizers to coerce or dictate to the creators what should and what should not be in the game. The censorship created by the localizers will only appear minor at first but it will erode the game creator's vision for the game the same way that water and mud erodes a channel out of rock. The end result is a game that has fewer game options, sterile dialogue and limited characters. We hope you notice and act in a manner that stops this corruption of creativity soon. Brothers and sisters in our love of good games, Western Gamers. Thoughts?
>>330886 The second and third paragraphs sound like a good starter, however remove the entire first paragraph. Replace it with a sentence of praise for Nintendo/Japanese games. Then, proceed two ask two questions that they will both answer "Yes" to. And, follow it by a sentence that transitions to the rest of the letter.
>>330886 I'll post my comments here and there. > It has been discovered that Japanese games are going to be under attack by people who are ridiculously easily offended and hold a cult-like "progressive" mentality What's a progressive? How do you explain that to a Japanese person? IMO: change it to "puritan"- since they'll go for the sex appeal first. > These people are a miniscule minority that have forced themselves into key positions of power in the west. Namely in Public Relations and as translators or "localizers" which work at Treehouse and 8-4. Explain. In short; tell them how Western MSM has hated games since the 90s, and now even some games based websites are trying to change games like they did. Then say how they got into PR, Human Resources (if Japan has such a thing) and translators in Japanese gaming companies. > In the last number of years incompetent "localizers" have been doing their inferior work by doing a number of things; What's a localizer? IMO, you're better saying translators also decided what was appropriate for audiences- becoming "localizers". Fuck I don't know if localizer even translates. Sure as hell doesn't work on spellcheck. > Asserting their ideology into Japanese games when they are translated by removing functions found in the original Japanese release such as removing head patting and breast size adjustment Cut your sentence length down- and not just here either. Further, I'd say simplify it. They want to cut any sexual content- even boob sliders, hip-bones, and head patting. > These localizers have also replace key dialogue with unfunny and dated jokes (or memes). What is Japanese for meme? If we have a good translator, we should learn this. > What the management were not told was that the gamers were upset because the dialogue and characters were unnecessarily butchered by the localizers "Butchering" as slang for ruining something might not translate into Japanese. Try to keep slang out of it. Universal descriptives (ruined, corrupted, desaturated, etc) should be fine. > Because of this misinformation, Nintendo has decided to make the games more similar in content, not by replacing these ideological localizers but by using the localizers to coerce or dictate to the creators what should and what should not be in the game. This is probably the point you want to compare it to Star Ocean 5. They had the original Jap release altered, and it tanked not sure if the two are actually correlated. Also, work out what Star Ocean 5 is called in Japan. Just in case it has a different title. > The censorship created by the localizers will only appear minor at first but it will erode the game creator's vision for the game the same way that water and mud erodes a channel out of rock. Now you explain how Western Gaming was assaulted over 10 years- and the same could happen to Japan, Maybe compare it to UN and Olympic changes that are slow and gradual attacks on their culture & way of life. > The end result is a game that has fewer game options, sterile dialogue and limited characters. This doesn't read right to me. You want to say somehow that it means you have more child-friendly games, and their politics & beliefs forced upon them. > Brothers and sisters in our love of good games, > Western Gamers. ABSOLUTELY NOT. They think it's Western Gamers fault. "Oh we didn't stop these assholes on our side. Take care of them for us will ya?" I'd even argue don't sign it off with any name. Overall- good work. Make sentences a bit simpler, throw in more examples of censorship if when we find them, and it should be good. One major piece of criticism is talking to Nintendo Management in an open letter- like they're gonna fucking read it. The rest of the letter is written for the Jap gamers, so why even bother pretending we're on Ninty's side in this. Make this letter for the otaku and let NoJ get their wrath to get them in line.
RE: SEALDs aka Japanese SJW. >>>/gamergatehq/325256 Seems like they're leftists- but they hate America in Japan. So I think it's a fair comparison to make when trying to explain what an SJW is to them.
>>330887 >>330888 I'm off to work now. copy/paste the letter and make the changes you deem necessary. I'll be back in about 12 hours
>>330886 >How To Break into the Video Game Translation Business https://archive.fo/2jTdo From Kotaku. Why we should care? Q: Wait, aren't you a video game translator or something? You mention video games a lot. A: Kind of…but not really. First of all, if I'm anything, it's a video game project manager (see above). Several of our clients are video game companies, but they send us a wide variety of material, only some of which is actual video games. I check financial documents, proposals, business correspondence, video game dialogue, video game instruction manuals, iPhone apps, and more. We have clients outside of the game industry as well. Q: So you don't actually do any translation yourself? A: For the most part, no. If a project is small enough or on a rush schedule, we sometimes do the translation in-house, but there is always another English native who checks the finished product before delivery. Q: How did you get the job? A: I responded to an ad in the Japan Times. I was very lucky. Q: How do I get a job as a project manager? A: I have no idea. Look around for companies on the Internet and send off resumes and cover letters. Join the Google Group for Japanese translation – sometimes jobs get posted there. Those are my best suggestions. Q: How do I get a job as a freelance translator? A: Another question I can't really answer. I can tell you how my company hires freelancers. We always accept resumes, and generally we send prospective translators a translation trial. If the trial is good enough, we add them to our list of translators, but you have to be particularly good to break into our group of regulars. So I guess the answer is send out resumes and emails to as many translation companies as possible. Get in touch with the project managers who work at the companies. Get registered on their list. Stay in touch with them but don't be annoying, and don't ever come across as entitled, no matter how good of a translator you are. ASSUMING THIS IS TRUE, THAT MEANS IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET INTO THE BUSINESS OF TRANSLATING, DON'T BE A DESPAIR FAGGOT, DON'T FALL FOR THE YOU CAN'T LEARN JAP MEME, IF YOU CAN DO IT, MOUNTAIN DEW IT IMO it's not enough just to chop the treehouse down, and to alert the japs of NoA \ NoE lies to NoJ. In the long term, the cancer must be chemo'd by having non socjus people in the industry as well.
>>330886 Feedback from an anon: > Just my 2 cents on it. Forgive my bluntness on it. Simplify it and distill it down to a paragraph, maximum. Tone wise, obviously no spaghetti, no slang and no meme, don't give orders. All that's been mentioned but might bear repeating.

Reposting from /v/ thread: Still seeking: > Images of examples of Nintendo censorship for Western OC making. > Images of examples of NoA/NoE employees not being fit for translation as shown below: [Will be posted in this & future posts] Examples that can be recreated in text: Iwata's cancer was a type specifically caused by anger and frustration. Reggie's background: https://archive.fo/xmGhE >I was at MTV Networks from 2001 to 2003, and worked for its VH1 network, which was going after more of a 25- to -49-year-old demographic. That proved quite useful in my job here at Nintendo. Understanding that consumer group has proved critical in what Nintendo is trying to do now, in taking video games beyond the typical teenage boy and into a much more diverse audience. That experience was probably one of the major reasons I was recruited by Nintendo in 2003. COI with IGN (post on that soon). > Japanese IP/Proxy to post on 2chan. > Feedback on the message we want to send to 2chan. > Translation of the message & possibly memes we want to send to 2Chan. New ideas: >Anyways, should we dig into Nintendo's hiring history? Yes. Helps make OC for the west. "Look who's telling Miyamoto what to do" (that's hyperbolic but you get the idea). > Go directly to English-speaking JP devs on Twitter. This might actually work. Helps with the Otaku translation if their "leaders" tell them. Need list of English-Speaking Jap Devs who respond. Translating the article for them is priority 1 (since we can also give it to 2chan)

So feel free to find the earliest point he indicated he might be changing jobs, but it seems like a long shot. More likely is to find out if he has a personal relationship with any of his co-workers, then we could monitor any of their future Nintendo coverage for disclosures. I'm not sure if simply being former co-workers without a personal relationship would require disclosure on future Nintendo articles - I think in the past that's only been treated as an issue with tiny indie projects where the co-worker is a big part, not a giant company like Nintendo. Personal relationships at least should be fair game though, like the Nick Chester stuff: http://deepfreeze.it/journo.php?j=Dale_North http://deepfreeze.it/journo.php?j=Tony_Ponce Secondly, the former editor-in-chief for the "IGN Nintendo Team" from 2003-2009 (Matt Casmassina) was married to GolinHarris Vice President Edie Kissko who managed a PR team dedicated to Nintendo (1999-2011). This predates GG and Matt doesn't work in the industry anymore, but it seems worthwhile to record it for historical purposes. We should find out when their relationship began and any coverage Matt gave Nintendo during that period. https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattcasamassina >Managed a team of editors and freelancers responsible for all Nintendo related coverage on please use archive.ism. Developed original content, brokered exclusives, built the daily front page and more as the network grew its Nintendo reader fanbase to the largest on the Web. https://www.linkedin.com/in/edie-kissko-5bbb723 >Managed 40+ person PR agency team dedicated to Nintendo of America, including new product launch campaigns (Wii, Wii Fit, DS, Pokemon), and corporate communications, which included media and analyst relations, event management, social media and issues management. >IGN's Casamassina responds to conflict of interest claims (2007) http://archive.is/7Ip8a …after writing all that I just found out Matt is actually in Deepfreeze, just on the IGN outlet page instead of having a personal entry. http://deepfreeze.it/outlet.php?o=ign He wasn't on the list of journos so I didn't realize there was an entry. That's annoying, it seems like when there's an individual committing the COI he should have an entry. So this all became less significant, though people are free to dig up more details or spread the info around. Does anyone know how to archive Linkedin by the way? Looks like archive.is doesn't work on them anymore. I don't think they're going to try covering up anything up at this point but I think LinkedIn limits how many profiles you can look at without an account or something. I foolishly didn't think to screenshot the Kissko page until they locked me out.

Here's a draft translation for OP's article, as requested by >>330900. I'm waiting for someone to correct it as we speak. Any other job? Please cut it down to smaller pieces, the translation of said article alone took me 10 hours.
(142.64 KB 850x540 Hell Yeah Motherfucker.jpg)

>>330907 I could fucking kiss you!! Great work! There won't be anything for a while, probably when the draft post to 2chan is sorted. Great work mate. We now need someone to verify this translation is correct Mombot? Ronin? Others?? Then, We need to find Jap devs on western social media who speak english to show it to. Finally, We need a way to post on 2chan so we can post the translated article.
(36.20 KB 595x456 Mom Feedback.png)

>>330907 Feedback from Mombot. > The translation isn't bad. There are grammar issues and irregularities but generally the message gets across. < Awsome. Would you recommend sending it to developers in the state it is in (assuming we removed the bolded parts where the translation was off, and replaced it with highlights of key points)? > I think so, but you will need to contextualize it. Make a bullet point list of the specific parts you disagree with. So, we can use this translation IMO, but: - Need to bold sections we want to draw attention to (much like how the sentence in the OP is taken out to draw attention to it, what sentances hammer home the point). - An english, bullet pointed summery of the article. Maybe translate that as well. Then as said here >>330919 Sending it out- 2chan and Eng-Speaking Jap Devs on Twitter et al.
>>330922 Also this for when you talk to them. But we need to do the above first IMO.
Translators Using this PDF: >>330907 Please remove all bolding. Add the URL near the top of the text. Add bolding back in for sentences that are of importance (ask if you're not sure). Maybe shrink the text size down a bit. Not sure. Whether you recreate this as PDF or image or whatever is fine.
>>330925 One last thing Also provide a bullet point summery at the bottom or top? not sure whats better in both english and Japanese.
The CAPTCHA should show up and allow people to post in this thread now, please resume. Posting the following on behalf of an anon who couldn't post: >>330907 >>330919 >>330922 >>330925 >>330926 The Above Still Needs To Be Done! Also, new material we could use: https://twitter.com/mombot/status/885107072429203456 > Last year, Japanese Anon made a list of games that were altered or criticized due to foreign SJWs. http://eigo-net-slang-jiten.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/sjw.html?m=1 1. What does this post actually say? (does it explain what an SJW is? Is it just a list of censored games? Does it explain that SJW are a minority that do not represent Western Gaming audiences?) 2. If sent to Japanese devs/2Chan, what message do we send it with? (ideally; anything not explained by the post itself) 3. Send it to Japanese Devs on Twitter + 2Chan. (as a follow up or "entree" before sending the Treehouse article?)

Okay, so I'm posting the current draft of the PDF and image list. I'm not sure if the bolded statements are the most important so feel free to send corrections. I also included a summary box on the first page. Again, this is based on my own understanding of the article.
This YouTuber may be a good candidate for bridging the cultural divide that separates us from our kin in Japan. If we can get her up-to-speed on what's going on, she could articulate the message to her decently-sized audience. She's also a cute, which is a nice bonus. God, it's been almost three years and I'm still fucking here. The "you're here forever" bit was true.
>>330985 YES!!!!! YOU SAINTLY FUCKER!! I'd translate the "basically" box if possible, and include the original article URL under the title. But other than that, it could arguably be Good to Go assuming you post it with the article and summerize extremely well in clear English.
>>330985 >>330998 Feedback from main: > Ah. My Japanese vocabulary isn't up to speed so I can't say for sure how good it looks. I suppose making a translation of the summary is good for convenience but I think Reggie's quote of cultural relevance is going to be constantly brought up in future games should they decided to censor more or pull a Star Ocean 5.
>>330998 >>330999 I am an honest signal. Thanks, are there any other things I need to revise? I want to collect as many errors as I can before I move onto the next revision. Also two things: >How's the summary? Is it comprehensive enough? >I can't translate into moonrunes (Just finished Hira and moving onto Kata) so you'll need another anon. And Cheers! I just read nipanon's sad circumstances in Japanese society. Least we can do is retain the purity of his hobby. For them and for us.
>>331005 For the summery: - Translate "Basically" as "Summery". - I'd change point 1 to "Nintendo of America is claiming it will censor content during production" etc. Don't pin it down with what they are going to do, since they can deny. By saying they claim they want to do it, JapAnons can back it up with quotes and such. Then NoA/NoJ have to explain why they said it. Other than that, it's perfect. The "trying to please everybody" is the better take then trying to explain an SJW IMO- though I'm happy to cecede on that point if "they're making it for SJW/Western SEALDs" hammers the point home more. Maybe even go the step farther and comparing it to Star Ocean 5? But yeah, don't forget to add the URL (archive and original) into the top of the article and get a transator to help with that. > I just read nipanon's sad circumstances in Japanese society. Least we can do is retain the purity of his hobby. For them and for us. The fuck happened? Got a screencap?
>>331006 https://twitter.com/mombot/status/892457674717110272 https://medium.com/@mombot/manazashimura-social-justice-in-japan-fcfce2e95de7 > The people who publicly excoriated Vanquish are commonly referred to on the Japanese internet as the “Manazashimura”, a loosely knit group of radical feminists who congregate on social media to denounce “the male gaze”, or the way in which men view women as sexual objects. Looks like we have another word for Japanese SJWs. Might be worth throwing that into the summery.

>>331006 >The fuck happened? Sorry anon, that was several breads ago, can't recall as much. Well, here we go, attached. I didn't include "Manazashimura" because I felt that that's beyond the scope of the article. I wanna keep it tight and focused. Also, here's the summary in full just in case someone finds a translator. Not trusting Google with it: Summary: 1. Nintendo of America is claiming it will censor content during production itself to fit “cultural standards” that they themselves define. 2. Thus, the game is being created reliant on ideology rather than the creator’s vision for the game. 3. The end result would be a game that is lower in quality because it tries to please everybody.
>>331018 Great, so, All we need to do is get an accurate translation of the summery and edit it in And then we can spread it?
>>331027 I believe so. I already asked someone from KIA who knows their Japanese to help. If that fails, I'll bring it up with Mombot herself. From there, I don't know. Maybe if Nipanon drops by one of the GG breads over at /v/, I can ask him.
(26.82 KB 587x360 Help Mommy.png)

Mombot would like access to the original document of the current PDF. Something she can edit. All I asked her was: > We managed to make this so far. All that's missing is a translation of the summery, and we're working on that. Is the rest of the content/presentation OK? Then showed her the document in PDF, Screencap and Pastebin form. So I dunno if she's working on the Summery, or tweaking other elements.
>>331031 Alright, then it's a matter of waiting. I'll check on this page again and adapt whatever comes out it.
>>330858 >We know that this is the start of a slow-boil tactic to be applied over generations to Japan (possible combined with Olympics to cuck and de-homogenize them) until they make the same shit western AAA currently do. >de-homogenize I guess that you could say that the SJWs are homophobic

Sorry for that. Also, >mombot >pro-gg >she >Japanese I'd like to believe so. >>330986 The link's dead. Care to tell me what is it about? >>331027 Let me translate this one; Summary / 概要 >1. Nintendo of America is claiming it will censor content during production (process?) itself to fit "cultural standards" that they themselves define. 1. 米国任天堂はゲーム制作うちに自分勝手に定義した「文化基準」とおりゲームを検閲すると宣言した。 >2. Thus, the game is being created reliant on ideology rather than the creator's vision for the game. 2.こうして、制作中ゲームは製作者のビジョンより、他人の主義によって作られる。 >3. The end result would be a game that is lower in quality because it tries to pleasure everybody. 3.「皆の喜び」のための制作したゲームは製作者の理想なゲームに比べて低質ものだ。 The translation for sentence 3 was quite liberal, might need to have mombot or anyone capable enough to correct it too.
>>331077 >The link's dead. Care to tell me what is it about? It was a white girl (I think living in Japan) who gave explanations of western memes like pepe and spread /pol/-tier stuff about the jews. Looks like her account got shoah'd.
>>331077 I am an honest signal. Thanks for the translation, anon. I'm having it validated by mombot. Once done, I'll finish it up and announce it in the GG general over at /v/.
I think we've waited long enough for any feedback. If this checks out >>331077 maybe add the translated summery, then send it out?
>>331131 I wasn't able to get validation done. Do I go with it?

We are NOT linking or posting this OP to other boards This goes for all GG OPs as well Recently shills have been spamming this OP to other boards as a tactic to D&C. That, or some of you are being real fucking stupid. If you're here because someone linked you to us- we didn't do it. Report them on your board, and carry on as normal. If you want to know about us, look into our regular /v/ threads, or this board. We never organize efforts to "recruit" from other boards. Anons should come here because they want to. Kamiya will block you and already stands his ground. Odds are, he'll be OK. Likewise, the guys working at Game Freak & Pokemon won't jump ship because of this. 4. Don't talk to them about GamerGate unless asked. You can explain (briefly) why there is a disconnect between what Western Journos and Western Gamers want. Or that the hobby is being politicized by outside forces. Give them small, manageable bits of info that are relevant to their interests. GG is a behemoth that is hard to understand the scope of. NIS America Apologies for Localization Job on Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, Fix Coming in November 2017 https://archive.is/japtm I'd recommend checking out the article without the archive to see the comments- a few hit the nail on the head. - Go over the localizers head to complain about bad localization- since Japan is clueless what the west likes/wants. - Emails work!! With enough autists at once doing it- progress is made (Kadokawa is having talks with Tanoshi of Animal Friends for example thanks to outcry over his firing). Therefore- along with OP Timber- should future anti-localization/pro-translation OPs be DisNod based? > I am a loyal customer, and am disappointed in the quality of the product due to what the localizer did. Remember some Japanese people can be as bad as SJWs. Pic related- but verify. If true, the Japs working against that dev could be the sort of people we'd want to work with on other matters.
Minor note, apparently Nintendo told Wall Street Journal they want to bring more violent/risque content to Switch. https://twitter.com/ObsidianWasp/status/919257221141286913 So I guess either WSJ is lying (twisting words) or Nintendo is (covering for censorship). Need source on what WSJ claims.
>>331269 >Minor note, apparently Nintendo told Wall Street Journal they want to bring more violent/risque content to Switch. Perhaps they just mean that they WANT more violent/risque content on the platform, not that they're MAKING more violent/risque games. Look at the shit they've been putting out lately, shit like DOOM or Payday 2, or hell, even xenoblade and Gal Gun.
>>331269 Then maybe they should not have censored xenoblade 2 dialog, So no i don't believe them.
>>330858 this was insightful. also, friendly reminder that Japanese media is the last bastion holding out against the SJW horde. even so, they've made initial attempts at subversion, as seen in the OP and the crunchyroll debacle. inoculating Japan against the Social Justice virus is a worthy endeavor.
