Now that I got your attention, I wanna get some feedback on an idea I had in order to keep the site ad-free while also allowing this site to gain some funding for both the security of the site and to lay off the amount of financial stress the administration team has to deal with. I've already discussed this idea with some drawfags and everyone seemed okay with it. I wanna get drawfags to make designs for things like shirts, towels or mugs as examples. I wanna do a split where the drawfags get most of the money, but we get enough to cover the costs of tech shit, credit card transactions, partner shit, etc. I don't want it to come off as disingenuous, but at the same time running a site costs a ton of money and I think for the sake of security it'd be good to have a steady stream of income. Especially since the ongoing saga with Kiwifarms is giving valuable insight to who our enemies are. Obviously I also have some personal incentive, but at the same time I also believe that if people are gonna make vivian/gondola merchandise or whatever then we might as well use it to keep the site afloat and maybe get some more developers to help improve the functionality of the site. Obviously if people don't want to pay for shit then they don't have to, but I feel that making merchandise off dumb shit would ultimately be beneficial to the administration team for throwing countless dollars at the site, the drawfags who would make designs for us and possibly attract more drawfags to the website in general, the community would get a nice product to either wear at home or to hang on a wall, and to 8moe since acid/codexx wouldn't have to be stressed all the time and could actually afford to work on the site long term. In general I know anons are against the idea of money being involved, but at the same time we're gonna need some capital when they attempt to take us down. Acid tried donation shit and clearly it hasn't worked out since I'm the only only a handful of people have donated to the site since its inception. I think if we're gonna gain some capital then it's only fair if the community get involved since IF we decide to do this then everyone would be an essential part of this because we would not be here without anons. tl;dr: I want someone to make a gilda dakimakura and then sell it, with drawfags getting most of the profit while we'd get some profit as well while also improving on the site without happy merchant tricks.
