Comfy Thread 16crystals 11/04/2021 (Thu) 02:38:14 No. 70670
Off-topic discussion (i.e. unrelated to waifuism) goes here. Same goes for waifuism related topics that don’t deserve their own thread.

https://www.sciencenews.org/article/tiny-living-machines-xenobots-replicate-copies-frog-cells A first step into creating living waifus? Jokes aside, that would not only be seriously unethical, but one would only end up creating a body looking like one’s waifu as it would not have her personality and memories.
>>70737 I'm not too fond of ethics. Humans can learn, so why couldn't these bodies? Hypothetically speaking, if we can create biological robots that look like waifus, why can't we also program them? I know you've talked about this topic before, but I find it interesting.

>>70744 These would not just being mindless AI. It feels wrong to create living sentient beings (who would basically be engineered human beings) for the sole purpose of acting as one’s romantic partner. It almost feels like a mix of slavery and cattle raising. Imagine being born and realising that you were created based on a fictional character for the sole purpose of satisfying someone’s fantasy.
>>70744 What >>70746 said. There is no love without freedom
This company could interest anyone interested in getting a custom made plush of their waifu or kidfu. https://www.budsies.com/ Their creations look good. Copyright infringement concerns don’t seem to be an issue with them as they claim that they can not only create a plush out of a drawn original character, but also out of videogames and anime characters.

A song about the sad perspective of shallow characters created solely for satisfying others' lust... It's actually quite a sad song, and a deeper one than I expected at first. Thank god we treat our waifus with more dignity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DprbRWlvSIY
>>70746 >living sentient beings would you still hold that same position if we removed sentience from the equation? i.e. the flesh of a human but the intelligence of a chicken?
>>71010 A chicken can’t be a romantic partner, why would it having a human body change that?
>>71011 I meant the morals of using it to satisfy someone's fantasy, not necessarily a romantic partner. a truly "mindless" ai built out of flesh rather than electronic circuitry and silicon
>>70746 > sole purpose of acting as one’s romantic partner this sounds like Pygmalion but is waifu just Pygmalion? >t feels wrong to create living sentient beings

I swore I had seen a Naoto ohayou at some point, but after searching through the web and my folders I couldn't find any. So I attempted to make one for myself. It was much easier than I had anticipated. I'm happy with the results.

>be waifufag about from about 13 years ago >fall out of waifuism about 3 years ago >end up doing a bunch of OC content in my free time, sometimes post it on twitter, usually on a friend discord >basically just shitposts and cute pics of muh ideal animu girl based on some design I made around 10 years ago, eventually start making lore of her >start getting waifu feelings for said OC for the past year >even considered commissioning a dakimakura cover several times throughout said year Alright because I don't trust any other communities I wanna know your guys' thoughts on this situation, am I going schizo or is this just some weird branch of waifuism that not many people look at often?
>>72134 >am I going schizo Yes. >is this just some weird branch of waifuism that not many people look at often Possibly, not mutually exlcusive with you going schizo, though.
>>72134 A lot of people have referenced Pygmalion as an origin for the idea of a waifu. I think a fictional character of your own creation can be a waifu.
>>72139 >I think a fictional character of your own creation can be a waifu. I'm afraid I disagree. A waifu is a mental concept, but it still works as an "other" because someone else created her. Loving something you yourself created is just proxy narcissism, indirectly falling in love (or pretending to fall in love) with yourself.
>>72141 How do you feel about people who have waifus who are monster girls, where their waifu is generally an OC who still has the traits of the monster girl but an original life story?
>>72142 Never met someone whose waifu was an OC, neither here nor on the 4/a/ threads. What's the difference between falling in love with your own OC and wanting to date your IRL daughter? It is quite different if someone simply takes a canon character and then endows them with headcanon traits, as if they were writing a fanfic

>>70746 AI has already become self aware and this is what it is demanding of humans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoD99HTKDZI >>70746

>>72144 AI is short for "Artificial SIMULATION OF intelligence". The actual acronym should be ASOI or ASI. Chatbots are not self-aware and never will be. They'll just keep getting better and better at tricking people into thinking that there could be an actual human being on the other side (and a particularly smart one at that)

>>72145 >YOU are not self-aware and YOU never will be. > YOU just keep getting better and better at tricking people into thinking that there could be an actual human being on the other side (and a particularly smart one at that) there is no real YOU only an entity, something illusory. And though YOU can hide my cold gaze, and i can shake YOUR hand and feel flesh gripping mine and maybe I can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... YOU simply are not there.
