Demon: The Fallen Anonymous 07/30/2021 (Fri) 11:04:02 No. 334
Another old white wolf product Shut up I really like d10s. Anyway you better have some knowledge of christianity for this one. Although it helps with all their lines really. You get to be a demon, and then do demon stuff. Like create a cult. Be a serial killer. Or try to track down that traitorous asshole lucifer. Who btw apparently never went to hell. So that's something your bitter about after finally escaping from hell.
So the basic character creation is a little more complex then most WW gamelines. First you make a demon, backstory stats the whole nine, then make a human character, stats background etc, then you decide how this human dies leaving his mortal shell to be possessed by your demon. So you make a third character that's a mix of the two. It's been a decade but yeah basically. And then if I recall you RP as this shell trying not to attract attention and also idk fighting other demons usually according to my GM, but the setting allows for so much more. The aforementioned cult creation has always fascinated me. Because oh yeah belief is power and you need mortals to believe in you. It had the potential to be a Charlie Manson sim. A fascinating lore and game mechanics. Yes a fun game that I don't think I ever really played correctly.
The idea of hell as a void was semi interesting. A place once banished to, one spends uncountable amount of time in basically sensory deprivation, it is mentioned that there is still some sense of the other fallen being there. All but one. And basically all these immortal angels go insane. The basic backstory to every character is more or less identical. One day you notice light in the void, a crack in reality. And force your way back into reality. Latch onto a dying human to gain some semblance of a physical anchor (tying in somewhat with wraiths mechanics) and then find yourself in the mid 90s. From a starting position for storytelling I always thought that a pretty good place to do it.
I always wanted to play this one, but forget ever finding a group. Also using this as an excuse for cults to fight each other in a skirmish style wargame could be neat.
>>352 Lore wise it would work, keeping it small scale. Ambushes, gang style fighting retreats. Depending on how points are awarded it could be very interesting to see as wargame. Spot on with the skirmish idea. As for finding a group yeah no shit. Been trying to play these more obscure white wolf titles since they came out. At least I can talk about them every now and again.
>>353 Yeah something small, like a skirmish game. I always said D&D 4th with some tweaks would have made an awesome skirmish mini game.
>>338 >can start weird cults >>352 and then make them fight each other Shit this actually sounds pretty cool. no idea how it would work but you could convince satanic cultists to fight niggers and cartels. I wasn't really sold on D:TF when I first heard about it but this sounds fucking awesome.
>>516 Yeah theres a way to run a campaign that could actually be a lot of fun I think.
>>525 So then do it retard.
