Archive of previous bread: https://archive.ph/p9Xed
>>118621 You missed one :^)
I've been cutting down on handheld gaming since staring at a screen close to your eyes is bad for the eyes.
(498.25 KB 1056x1400 ClipboardImage.png)

Now this is a thread I can get behind. /v/ adopts vita-tan comic when.
>>118623 Same, I guess it happens as we get older. Although it also happens when I use the computer for too long.
>>118623 >use computer for 8 hours a day >use phone for 3 hours a day Somehow I think the handheld console isnt the biggest problem for your eyesight.
https://archive.ph/grvAw >Mary Skelter 2 Purge Corruption Minigame Removed in PC Steam Release Why even bother
>>118625 >>118626 Looking at screens has nothing to do with deteriorating eye sight. Looking at objects close to you for prolonged periods of time does. Your eye sight gets shittier regardless of what you're staring at as long as it's something near to you. A book would result in the same thing.
>>118623 I've been the opposite ever since I started playing on my Vita, its just so convenient to play on. >>118627 I was going to say, what the fuck, IFI (the western branch ironically) would never censor if they could avoid it in any way possible. If anything they would uncensor if they could, but then I read who was handling the Steam release. Fucking Ghostlight, goddamn it. It could very well be Valve having an influence as well with their censorship as is being suggested, but Ghostlight is not exactly reputable either when it comes to this kind of shit. Worst case its entirely Valve and ghostlight is innocent, but Ghostlight gets blamed for their past censorship while the more dangerous problem gets away with fucking with games scot-free. Its probably mostly Ghostlight, or at least half their fault though.
>>118626 It is though, you're about 4 or 5 times farther away from a computer screen than when you're looking at a phone/handheld. Plus it's not that it makes my eyesight worse, in the sense that things are blurrier, but it makes my eyes "lock" in place and it becomes more difficult to focus and not see double at something that isn't really close up.
>>118629 >Implying Steam gives a shit
(97.40 KB 1403x458 Ntigger.png)

>>118631 They've censored and sometimes even deplatformed animu/lewd games in the past few years, like A Kiss for The Petals and Evenicle 2 from MangaGamer for example
>>118632 Tigger isn't public domain till 2024
>>118632 >Tigger public domain Wrong, it's not 2024 yet.
>>118632 Reposting the links to the 1st edition of Winnie The Pooh (the one that became public domain): https://archive.org/details/winnie-the-pooh_202201/ https://archive.org/details/aa-milne-winnie-the-pooh/ (2nd link has a better image contrast in my opinion, but p23 has the hand of the person scanning it)
Handheld playstation consoles will never make a comeback. Even the newest playstation home console has no games.
Ah, it seems Lynxchan doesn't support JPEG 2000 (.jp2) files.
So when is someone gonna remake "Winnie the Pooh's Home Run Derby!" and sell it for a quick buck?
(246.79 KB 1080x1127 sus.jpg)

Time to kill the amogus
>>506714 Some anon last thread suggested a rewrite of Journey to the West but with the cast of Pooh >Pooh would have to be the priest: mostly useless and also main character. Eeyore is the horse, tigger is wukong, piglet would have to be piggsy despite being wildly useless, owl would be sandy since he's the most polite, rabbit is the ox king, kanga would be the bodhisattva that leads pooh to tigger with roo being in there somewhere as well, and christopher robin would be the guy who had the bad dream and sent the priest off in the first place. >>118639 It would have to be 'demaked' to use the original artstyle as opposed to Disney's
>>118637 That's for the best anyways because Sony has been acting like hyper-cancer for the past 3 years at least if not longer They peaked with the Vita anyways, I doubt their engineering team would be given that level of freedom and ability again. Just get a Vita(s), hack it, and ride out the rest of the next decade or two in comfiness
>>118629 I’m fairly certain Ghostlight has been caught lying in the past about being forced to remove censorship. Like people actually called up PEGI to double check.
>>118643 *About being forced to censor I mean.
(76.08 KB 1080x864 Vaxd.jpg)

Time to order your pin ;^)
>>118643 >>118645 Yeah, that's why its more likely Ghostlight's fault than Steam's, its hard to trust a liar like that after all but you never know, Steam isn't exactly innocent either when it comes to censorship, so I'll withhold judgment until any further facts come out and merely speculate on possibilities in the meantime.
>>118646 Couldn’t you just wear the pin without actually being vaccinated?
>>118640 The sad thing is that people will suck KFC's dick for this like they sucked their dick for that low effort meme dating simulator they put out two years ago or so.
(935.22 KB 960x960 Amongus.png)

>>118649 I would have thought they'd get cancelled for posting something with a connection to stonetoss
(439.25 KB 587x599 Ex5PJtVWUAAO8xH.png)

>>118649 say what you will about that dating sim but they knew whats good
>>118640 That;s just KFC Spain, the account is literally only memes and shitposting.
>>118651 she looks like she's melting dude

>>118639 When the game's specific copyright expires. Every single edition of every single book and comic, every release, re-release, remaster, remake and adaptation to another format of every movie and TV show, every (re-)release of every game, every artwork, toy and collectible, they all have their own expiration dates that are independent of each other. What expired some days ago was just the first edition of the first book, the copyright of every piece of content of Winnie The Pooh made after that book still is in effect, not just Jidsney's versions. >>118640 Unsurprising. That account reposts KFC-themed cuckchan-tier shitposts (soy wojaks, that amongus, Chad "yes" pics). They even shared bara ecchi porn once.
(272.83 KB 2000x1422 922832894.0.x.jpg)

(6.67 KB 958x718 mario land.png)

>>118644 I'm not a lawyer, but I also don't think pooh himself can be portrayed in the iconic yellow color because that might be too close to the Disney design. From looking up the full color illustrations of the book, it was published in 1977 while the first Disney pooh movie Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree debuted in 1966. Even if pooh couldn't be in the iconic yellow design and one anon wanted to make a spin of the Homerun Derby game, it would probably have to be in monochrome to avoid similarities to Disney. By that point it could resemble a Gameboy game or a MadWorld style design
>>118649 I feel so bad for people that don't know (or aren't willing) to cook their own food and have to eat literal dogshit like KFC and most other fast foods. Its also foul how much these corps have engaged in meme culture to the detriment of fun everywhere, hopefully there will eventually be some pushback against this bullshit >>118651 Yeah, that's why they'll leech and ruin anything that's good (like anime and other Japanese media) until its sucked dry, and then move on to the next thing that anyone with taste enjoys
>>118642 Agreed, as soon as the Playstation brand went Western it turned to shit. Jim Ryan is still making deals with developers like Square Enix and such, but that's only because they have some presence on Playstation beforehand. It's a damn shame Sony and Square are basically following in Capcom's footsteps.
>>118657 >It's a damn shame Sony and Square are basically following in Capcom's footsteps. Wasn't what happened at Capcom, all the result of Conman's work?
>>118658 Yes, but while before it was either Military hardboners and grim tryhard bullshit or funny le quirky hipster garbage, it is now all quirky hipster garbage filled with pozz. At least during Inajews reign and during Microsoft hard gaslighting of the Japanese industry at the time, you'd at least get meatheads and hot chicks.
>>118627 >Mary Skelter 2 was released uncensored on the Nintendo Switch back in 2019, and it was also released on the PS4 in Japan, but was censored. This fucking timeline I swear to god. Nintendo is the only company releasing uncensored anime lewds. How is this even possible?
>>118660 >How is this even possible? They're publishing them in what's technically a handheld machine which is a primary source for cool otaku shit in Nipland, therefore it must preserve its core values

>>118660 They decided to go full freedom with the Switch while Sony got taken over by the western branch It was basically pure luck, but thankfully it worked out that way While I despise Sony, I hope the JP branch eventually takes back power, or even better, a new hardware manufacturer for gaming takes power in Japan because a duopoly like this is fucking risky, all it takes is for Nintendo to change their mind and suddenly we have zero platforms for developers to develop for in Japan, save PC which is a very different market with its own sets of problems (and result in many developer collapses) I wish there were at least 3 platforms worth a damn in Japan, this wouldn't have to be so stressful otherwise

>>118664 It's actually a bit more confusing what is actually happening https://archive.is/iBqVu https://archive.is/XV4Kk https://archive.is/GKTsa Regardless, their design philosophy for future characters are absolutely going to change if they have to tip toe around this much. Expect them to be a lot more safe so they don't have to censor in the future.
>>118666 >Steam-chan Don't you mean steam-kun >>118670 When they don't censor them maybe; they also censor non-porn games on a whim
>>118616 Why didn’t Sony name the vita PSP 2 and why did Sony ignore the vita in the west? Sony marketed the vita as a borderline PS4 add-on in North America. Vita double weird because it was profitable yet Sony considered a familiar. It’s something the vita and Wii U have in common.

>>118666 Here's your chicken, bro :^) I honestly don't see the appeal of bara art. It's like somebody had decided to make a Jojo meme out of gay porn using Baki as an inspiration for the characters and anatomy. >>118667 KFC Spain.
>>118670 Steam is odd. And extremely inconsistent. I hear there are two high up people who are puritans that hate anime but they don’t or can’t always censor everything they want to. The result is what causes your porn game to be verboten are based on rules that seem to be changed every ten minutes, aren’t universally enforced and if a sjw mob finds your game and mass reports it your ass is grass.
>>118667 South America has KFC? I haven't seen a single KFC, the middle east however it seems to be everywhere.
>>118673 >Why didn’t Sony name the vita PSP 2 <Why didn't Nintendo name the Nintendo DS Game Boy Advance Maximum 2
>>118675 Sounds about right. Valve is simultaneously one of the most interesting and completely fucking retarded companies in existence. They'll do cool things then completely abandon them, they'll take good positions then just never follow through or secretly 180 on those positions. May god have mercy on the people buying the Steam Deck. It's one thing to have a company this fucking stupid managing some shitty spaghetti code game installer, it's another thing to have them pushing operating system updates to your computer.
>>118677 >Why didn’t Sony name the vita PSP 2 <Why didn't Nintendo name the Nintendo DS Game Boy Advance Maximum 2 Playstation brand never had a habit of breaking away from the number naming system until the vita. Unlike Nintendo which kept the Gameboy family line until the DS.
>>118674 bara is musclegirls for faggots; if you can understand musclegirls then you can understand muscleguys, otherwise known as 'guys'
>>118680 My post was meant to show once you deviate enough from the original ideas of the hardware, the branding has to reflect this. You can't name the DS into a "Game Boy" when it has two fucking screens, touch controls and a stylus. Similarily, youcan't expect Vita to be a PSP 2 when they don't share similar software inputs(discs to cartridges), similar functions(compare the XMB to the Vita's menu which resembles a cross between an Iphone and a web browser instead) and so on. The brand simply had to reflect that. >>118681 >bara is musclegirls for faggots and fujoshits fixed it for you

Pick your poison /v/: Sony >censorious communists who promote homosexuality and sent out literal SJW commisars to review JP dev games (and still might be doing so); used to have a history of freedom for JP devs on the JP side but not anymore Microsoft >No Japanese games, and if they did have it they would likely censor them, probably not as bad as nu-Sony but not good either Nintendo >doesn't censor 3rd parties for now and is a home for the smaller devs ejected by Sony but censors their first party games and the American branch is very dangerous, but currently powerless and hamstrung. >They have cancerous handling on fangames, romhacks, and rom-hosting sites and their own community Steam >centralized marketplace that promotes Linux compatibility with games and has a good modding community, but censors and deplatforms on a whim, has SJWs, is very greedy (i.e. paid mods), and is a de facto monopoly in the PC market ensuring any game getting deplatformed there is DOA, >also censors for China Other large non-steam storefronts >They're all shit, even GoG became shit eventually sadly smaller/dev storefronts >nobody fucking uses them and they're underdeveloped and have the problem that local shops basically do; can't compete and less featured >But at least free until a payment processor or China fucks them Personally I'd probably just pirate and maybe use jewtendo until they fuck up and censor 3rd parties again >>118684 >>118685 apologies for the delete, fucked up the formatting and wanted to fix before any replies; I was too slow I doubt that about the paid online aspect, someone's would have come up with it eventually; we probably just had to deal with it sooner as a result
>>118687 Not really, barafags can be women as well. I think Bara especially started because fujos really wanted to see muscled up dudes getting it hardcore. Like some Baki level dudes hardcore dicking each other and it snowballed from there. Why do you think so many women in japan thirst for Ryu and Ken, especially their more muscly yet young versions while the western fags salivate at bearded hobo Ryu since they want their daddy or whatever shit gays are into. Women just tend to like yaoi more and bara is different as some yaoi don't even feature sex scenes but fujos salivate for both of them for different reasons. It used to be that women who like very obvious "bara material" as they used to call it, like picking Ramba Rall instead of Amuro or Char in Gundam to have yaoi fantasies about or picking strong, older, muscly bald dudes was seen as weird amongst fujos since they prefered the more slender and effeminate styles but nowadays they don't give a shit.

China gaming crackdown: freeze on new video game licences extends into 2022 as 14,000 gaming-related firms shut down >Regulators have not released a list of approved new video game titles since the end of July, marking the longest suspension since a nine-month hiatus in 2018 >As a result, about 14,000 small studios and gaming-related firms in China went out of business over the past several months >China’s freeze on new video game licences is extending into 2022, dashing hopes that the process might resume by year-end, which has led many small gaming-related firms to close their operations and prompted the industry’s biggest publisher to pursue expansion overseas. >The National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA), which is in charge of licensing video games in China, has not published a list of approved new titles since the end of July. This marks the country’s longest suspension of new game licences since a nine-month hiatus in 2018 that followed a regulatory reshuffling. https://archive.ph/4Nh6s The Metaverse Gives China a New Digital Playground to Censor >When Mark Zuckerberg took the attention of the world and wrenched it into the metaverse in October, it cast new light on some of the other tech companies that, while not renamed after the somewhat nebulous new virtual realm, are nonetheless hoping to be in the business of it. Lots of those companies aren’t in Silicon Valley, they’re in China. >Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. already maintain gargantuan online worlds where hundreds of millions gather, play, chat, work and shop. ByteDance Ltd. >towns the video social networking service TikTok and recently purchased China’s largest virtual-reality headset maker. Video game maker NetEase Inc. has taken out metaverse-related trademarks, as has search engine company Baidu Inc. >Even Huawei Technologies Co. has been talking itself up as a metaverse company—its networking equipment will be the connective tissue of the new digital realm. The only wrinkle for these companies is that the Chinese government, at whose pleasure they remain in business, may not share Zuckerberg’s excitement about the prospect of an immersive, real-time universe of virtual worlds. >In recent months, the government of Xi Jinping has taken a series of steps to try to reduce the role that social media and the internet more broadly have in the lives of China’s citizens. >The nation’s video game regulator recently tightened its already strict rules, mandating that anyone under 18 is only allowed to play online games for an hour a night between Friday and Sunday. >State media is full of denunciations of “fandom chaos,” the Communist Party’s dark term for the online communities of fervent fans of Chinese pop singers and actors. The government has gone so far as to erase some of the country’s biggest stars from its internet entirely. >There is a sense that internet culture and fan culture is kind of uncivilized, decadent and distracting from what China needs to do,” says Adam Segal, a China and cybersecurity expert at the Council on Foreign Relations, “and gaming plays into that as well.” >China’s reticent approach to gaming, accompanied by encouragement for young people to go out and partake in real-world sports, is perhaps a preview of its view of the metaverse. It’s an attitude that stands in stark contrast to the vision of Zuckerberg and others who believe that massively multiplayer games and platforms like Fortnite and Roblox are the closest existing approximation of our digital futures. >Already, it’s possible to see the outlines of a metaverse culture war emerging. In one corner would be the authoritarians eager to limit the metaverse, or perhaps even to use it as a pretext for expanding existing prohibitions. >The always-on nature of the imagined virtual world, its blurred boundary with so-called meatspace, could represent possible new frontiers of surveillance and restrictions. Robert Williams, a China policy researcher at Yale Law School, points out in an email that the definition of what now constitutes problematic online gaming could end up broadening “in a social context where the lines between physical and digital reality are somewhat blurred.” >In the other corner would be metaverse evangelists like Zuckerberg. In his big-reveal presentation at Facebook’s Connect conference two months ago, he extolled the ways the metaverse would allow us to collaborate more smoothly, learn in more immersive ways, work out more creatively and play more interactively. >He spoke to the world while backlit by golden digital sunbeams, walking long virtual hallways that looked like Valhalla as designed by West Elm. Discussing privacy and safety, he talked about the kind of control he wanted users to have in the metaverse. >You’ll get to decide,” he said, “when you want to be with other people, when you want to block someone from appearing in your space or when you want to take a break and teleport to a private bubble to be alone.” Left off that list was the option of logging out of the metaverse entirely. >Indeed, between the authoritarian scolds and the big-tech metaverse boosters, it’s possible to feel a bit of whiplash. Personally, I find both visions a bit creepy, both of them potential paths to a future where we have less choice, not more. https://archive.ph/yJKmd

>>506853 Yeah but if you're talking about wide adoption then you're omitting the fact that the fucking Atari technically had online capabilities when personal computers were just beginning to enter the market, and the internet was still far off. If you're talking about wide adoption, then you're omitting the fact that the number of people who had personal computers they could play games on was tiny compared to the number of people who had home consoles until the 2000s, and good or common internet access was even rarer. If you're gonna count the minuscule number of people playing online computer games in the '90s, you might as well count the minuscule number of people playing on SegaNet or X-Band. <Dead by Daylight Removes Leatherface's Masks Over Blackface Debacle >Announced via an official development update, Behaviour Interactive has condemned anyone exploiting the Cannibal's ability to wear survivor masks as blackface. In Dead by Daylight, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre can wear the faces of one of the four original survivors. However, toxic gamers have been using the face of Claudette Morel, a black character, to racially harass and abuse other players >The Dead by Daylight developer stated, "Members of the community have shared their experiences with people targeting and tormenting them while using some of these masks. These reports were disheartening to hear, and we absolutely condemn this behaviour." >Behaviour Interactive has taken a strong stance on this controversy and stated the studio is "not comfortable having these masks in the game when they are used as a tool to spread hate." It went on to confirm that it will be removing The Cannibal's unlockable face mask in the upcoming mid-chapter update and will be taking ongoing steps towards eradicating any hateful activity whilst protecting the community from further harassment https://archive.is/TZFpC

>>118718 >Sega's Dreamcast did require a subscription for some of it's most high-profile titles, like PSO. That was SegaNet, which initially was it's own ISP that provided lower-latency matchmaking prioritization as well as web-browsing. Their plan was initially to provide every game with free online, but offer SegaNet as a cheap alternative to most ISPs which was also optimized for gaming. You weren't forced to use it or get locked out of other ISPs, though. So to get people onboard, they offered a $200 rebate if you signed up to the service, making your Dreamcast essentially free. That didn't work out as well as they hoped - so they ended up shitcanning SegaNet and started charging for PSO in order to recoup some of the losses. Episode 1 launched before SegaNet tanked, so it was - and always remained - free to play online. It's not like they could really patch in everything they'd need to make it a paid service. PSO v.2, it's expansion, launched after SegaNet tanked, and introduced the Hunter's License - charging $4.99 a month. A lot of people didn't have credits cards though, and ended up having to pay a third party (like psoexplorer) via money order. Christ that was a pain in the ass.

>>118903 It's not so much looking at things close to you is bad, so much as looking at things at the same distance for extended periods of time is bad. Your eyes, just like any other part of your body, can strengthen through use or atrophy through disuse or misuse. When your eyes stay at the same focal length for extended periods of time (i.e. watching TV, looking at a computer screen, reading a book, etc.) they weaken. Like every mammal, we evolved to be constantly scanning the horizon as well as closely examining everything near us - that's the standard amount of exercise that our eyes should be getting. When using a computer, at regular intervals you should take a short break to stare at whatever object you can see that is the furthest away, and then bring your finger up close to your face and stare at your fingertip. Alternate your vision between these two points a few times and then go back to whatever you were doing. You can do this every half an hour, or during every loading screen, or whatever you feel like. I don't know if eye exercise can reverse eye damage done from staring at things, but I believe with absolute certainty that it's able to prevent that damage from occurring in the first place.

Originally Days Gone was a Vita game: https://archive.md/IAfjn <Phillips, a former senior director at Sony, describes a tech demo that ultimately led to the PS4 game Days Gone. Sometime after shipping Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Bend Studio showed leadership the Vita tech demo that was similar to the famous Jerusalem scene in the movie World War Z. <The demo had a scene with a horde of zombies scrambling up a wall. The main character scales a wall and the zombies keep piling up like ants, and then the camera pulled back and you could just see this mass of zombies. What Phillips describes is very similar to the Days Gone gameplay demo shown during E3 2016. Bend was given some latitude to see what else it could do to push the hardware, as it was the team’s responsibility as a first-party studio to showcase what was possible on Vita for the development community. <“Now this is 100 percent speculation on my part. What likely seemed to have happened was that [Bend] was really pushing the PlayStation Vita’s hardware, but then the PS4 initiative really kicked off,” Phillips says. “Then we were all chartered with supporting the PS4, being there with killer content and a game the size of Days Gone takes a long time.”

New Narrative Director for Battlefield Planning to Fix BF2042; Says Willingness There, But Not Easy >Are you disappointed with Battlefield 2042? If you think the latest Battlefield game has some issue that need to be ironed out, you’re not alone, and even the higher ups at EA think the same way as well. >In case you didn’t know, before 2021 was over, EA shocked gamers by announcing that not only was Vince Zampella (Respawn Entertainment boss) the newly appointed head of the Battlefield franchise, but that Halo franchise co-creator Marcus Lehto was on-board the franchise as well, as the head of the franchise’s narrative. >an concerns about Battlefield 2042, and the franchise’s future as a whole. When asked by a gamer why EA is transforming the Battlefield franchise into something it’s not, Lehto admitted that he’s figuring that out himself, and he’s then planning to “fix things.” >one of the biggest complains about Battlefield 2042 is how Specialists have taken over the traditional class-based system. >When a fan tags both Zampella and Lehto into the conversation about it, Lehto confirmed that he is listening and wants to keep the feedback coming. >when another fan chimes in that he doesn’t think EA has the willingess to make BF2042 better nor if DICE has the ability do make the game better, Lehto jumps in and states that they are willing, and they have the talent, but admits that these things take time and is not an easy task. >Given how DICE has fumbled on Battlefield 2042, this is quite comforting to hear from someone high up the food chain. That said, let’s hope these words are backed by action, as the Battlefield franchise has taken its fair share of beatings the past few years — and with good reason. >In case you haven’t bought the game yet or not familiar with BF2042’s issues, our review can be read here, and we admit there’s a lot of work needed to make it reach its potential. >Will Lehto and Zampella be able to turn things around for Battlefield 2042 or even the entire franchise? We here at MP1st sure hope so given the community has been quite vocal in what they want, and we still haven’t gotten it even after years of waiting. https://archive.ph/AmbfZ DICE removes fan-favourite Rush mode from Battlefield 2042's official playlist >DICE has removed the fan-favourite Rush game mode from the featured playlist in Battlefield 2042's Portal mode. >The removal comes despite the positive reception towards the mode and calls to keep it in the game permanently. >Featured experiences are designed to be changed regularly to keep the game fresh, but Rush has been a staple of the franchise for quite some time so its removal is unusual. >Players will still be able to play Rush on custom Portal servers, but XP progression is capped in Portal to prevent XP farming lobbies that plagued the game during launch. >Fans say that the decision is another symptom of a wider issue in the community - that DICE simply isn't listening to them. >While the game has improved significantly since its launch in March, it continues to be mired with bugs and core design problems some players believe need to be prioritised. >Instead, EA's marketing team appears to be going full steam ahead with adding lore to the game's wider world. Moreover, earlier today Andy McNamara, EA's global director of integrated comms for shooters, in a now-deleted thread expressed his frustrations with the community backlash. >McNamara later apologised for the lack of clarity in his tweets. Deleted the tweets. Seems my message wasn’t clear. Apologies https://archive.ph/7AROy

Games Workshop’s shares take wild swings after underwhelming profit update >Games Workshop suffered nearly a six per cent drop in its share price on Wednesday morning after it reported higher carriage costs and increased staff expenditure ahead of its half-year results next month. >Share prices recovered later in the day, with the company taking investors on a wild stock market journey before recovering to a slight loss of 0.36 per cent on the FTSE 250 at close of play. >The wargaming and fantasy figurines specialist spooked investors, causing shares to slip, by announcing profits could be below previous figures ahead of its half-year results in January. >The company has benefitted from the home hobby boom during the pandemic, and the subsequent re-opening of retail stores to newly enthusiastic customers. >It now expects revenues of at least £190m in its upcoming half-year results, with trading in line with the high expectations established in its September update – passing the previous six-month revenues of £186.8m. >The company has also enjoyed a £19m licensing income boost from computer game developers. However, it has failed to replicate rocketing revenues with soaring profits. >Gross profits expectations are barely in line with last year’s numbers – with estimates of at least £86m before tax, compared to £91.6m in 2020 over the comparable six-month window. >Carriage costs have risen over the past six months, while the pay-out it is providing to staff for exceptional performance has increased in line with staff numbers. >Games Workshop shares slump despite sales surge over lockdownThe £2,500 cash reward to each employee will cost the company £6.9m – up from £6.1m last year. >The profit stagnation is all the more disappointing after Games Workshop posted strong full-year results this summer – with revenues rocketing to £353.2m and an operating profit of £151.7m, alongside earnings per share at a healthy 372.7p. >Laith Khalaf, head of investment analysis at AJ Bell told City A.M that Games Workshop is vulnerable to volatile market performance. >He said: “It’s a mid cap stock which trades on an elevated valuation, which makes it prone to bigger setbacks when growth disappoints, because a fair amount of expectation is already based into the price.” >Commenting on the wider market conditions he added: “The last year has also been characterised by a tussle between value and growth, between inflation and deflation and between restrictions and freedom, which has no doubt exacerbated volatility, particularly amongst companies like Games Workshop which were perceived to be lockdown winners.” >Further details of the company’s performance will be announced in the half yearly report which will be released on 11 January 2022. https://archive.ph/7WMhf T’au Empire Crusade Rules Introduce Radical Concept of Peaceful Diplomacy to Warhammer 40,000 >No fewer than three new codexes are coming in early 2022. We’ve already seen how the Genestealer Cults and Adeptus Custodes Crusade campaigns will work, but the T’au have been shrouded in mystery – until now. So let’s take a look at how Crusades work in the upcoming Codex: T’au Empire. >For all of their military might, the T’au Empire prefers to bring new worlds into its sphere through diplomatic means. Dead men make poor allies, after all. >Accordingly, the decision on whether to use honeyed words or shockingly powerful weapons for the Greater Good forms the core of T’au Crusade campaigns. Call it railgun diplomacy. >You’ll start by generating a system to engage in a little ‘gunboat diplomacy’ with. You randomly create up to eight planets from a wide variety of types, which determines how well they’re defended and what benefits you gain from assimilating them. >These represent some of the common types of planet the T’au tend to have their eye on, from highly populated Civilian Worlds to resource-rich Trading Hubs. > To take each planet, you must reduce either their Military or Diplomatic power by increasing your own. Military points are gained by winning games, while Diplomat points require a special new Requisition. >You can also gain both kinds of power by completing Agendas, with tasks ranging from protecting important diplomatic officials to holding clandestine meetings in the middle of a battlefield. >Once you’ve got enough oomph, it’s time to let the planetary governor know there’s a new sheriff in town. And then you get to redeem all of the lovely Assimilation Abilities you’ve earned for taking control of the planet before planning your next conquest. >Once you’ve taken all of the planets in your chosen system, congratulations! The T’au Empire has a new feather in its cap, >and you can move on to the next juicy target. But before you make your tearful goodbyes, choose one of your planets and use the Set Up Supply Lines Requisition to earn the powerful Supply Ability – you can only do this for one planet in the system, so choose carefully. >You’re no doubt already mustering your expansion fleet, so keep abreast of all the future reveals from the upcoming Codex: T’au Empire – and a lot more besides – by signing up for the Warhammer Community newsletter. >You wouldn’t want to miss out on our upcoming look at more T’au weaponry, would https://archive.ph/7WMhf you?

>>118924 I think the idea is you go through a virtual Walmart and then what you bought gets sent to you. As for the car services: Either they come to you, or you've got a self-driving car that drives there by itself. It's a strangely boomer idea combined with online shopping for some ungodly idea. If some guy is too retarded to use an online shopping site, how is he supposed to use VR? And if you can use an online shopping site, why wander through a grocery shop of all things? Shopping as an experience can be enjoyable for specialist things, teas and antiques and wines and shit, because you find unexpected new experiences. Grocery shopping isn't, because it's essentially a labyrinth that shifts once or twice a year that contains all the items you need to keep you alive for another week. It's an IRL minigame.
>>118950 >Games Workshop’s shares take wild swings after underwhelming profit update Not unexpected. Glad to know they're going down. Fun fact, the day after they had that "the imperium is driven by hate, warhammer is not" shit announcement, a wastepipe burst inside the office, filling it with sewerwater. >T’au Empire Crusade Rules Introduce Radical Concept of Peaceful Diplomacy to Warhammer 40,000 Surprisingly in line with them, though "peaceful" isn't really something you'd expect in the universe of 40k. Seems like a interesting system for a story campaign.
The cruel and brutal philosophy behind Pokémon >Pokémon has people wandering the world to enslave wild and magical creatures so they can fight in painful blood sports. What's fun about that? > Pokémon is a hugely popular franchise in which human trainers catch wild Pokémon to be trained and conditioned for painful fights. In the real world, blood sports are generally illegal or vaguely tolerated behind closed doors. >To practitioners, an animal's suffering is less important than momentary human pleasure. Many religions use the idea of "stewardship" in approaching the natural world, which says that with great power comes great responsibility. >We often assume we have dominion over the animal kingdom. With our semi-automatics, atomic energy, and ballistic missiles, there’s no doubt that we’re the boss of the jungle. >But how should we use our technological and intellectual superiority? Should we take, abuse, and exploit as much as possible? >Luxuriate happily as the apex predator and kingpin? Or, as any good Spiderman fan might suggest, should we live by the maxim “with great power, comes great responsibility”? >Nowhere is this question more salient than in the issue of animal blood sports — pitting creatures against one another in physical combat. It’s an act that treats animals as objects used only for human pleasure, rather than as useful resources or beings to protect. >And, surprisingly, it’s one that’s introduced and celebrated in the seemingly harmless and cartoony world of Pokémon. <Gotta hurt them all >Pokémon is a universe where celebrated slavers wander the world trapping wild and magical creatures so they can drill them to fight in painful blood sports. These Pokémon, quite contented with their natural habitat, want nothing to do with “trainers,” and so they have to be lured by treats or threats. >True, most trainers love and care for their Pokémon slaves, but their pets (?) still exist for the sole purpose of battling other creatures. Most wild Pokémon will avoid conflict and will only attack a human trainer out of fear. >These creatures are then trapped inside a tiny “Poké Ball” cage (with the notable exception of Ash’s Pikachu, which is allowed to roam free) until they are called upon for their master’s use. In some variations of Pokémon, unwanted or “inferior” creatures are ground down for “candy.” >But mostly, these enslaved Pokémon are then drilled and conditioned to fight. It’s dog fighting, but with cute, kawaii animations. <It makes me laugh, so why not? >So, what’s wrong with this? Is it the case that if we, as humans or trainers, have the power to force “lesser” beings to fight, then we have the right to do so? Do we assume that “might is right,” and that, in the evolutionary dogfight, the strongest arms and biggest guns win? >It sucks to be a Pokémon, but to the victor, the spoils. In most liberal democracies, blood sports are seen as either cruel and brutal, or are the vaguely tolerated idiosyncrasies of a tiny elite. >Cockfighting, dog fights, and bear or badger baiting are illegal (though, oddly, South Carolina has no bans on bear baiting), while fox hunting, bull fighting, and bird shooting are hugely controversial wherever they are practiced. >Why are animals so routinely assumed to be so inferior that their misery is an acceptable source of human pleasure? Much of the Western intellectual approach to the issue comes from the Ancient Greeks. Aristotle, for instance, argued that animals do not possess a rational soul, and so what worth can they really have? >From the Greeks we have inherited the idea that rationality means value, and that lacking the former means lacking the latter. >But if we are human-centric utilitarians, why not argue that if animal-only blood sports give great and widespread pleasure, what’s wrong with them? A crowd of ecstatic and jubilant spectators relishing the splattered gore of a dog fight is a decent trade-off, the logic might go. Others might appeal to tradition. >After all, blood sports appear all throughout recorded history. Our ancestors loved shaking their betting slips over a cockpit. If Pokémon training has “always been around,” why change it? >What these philosophies miss, though, is the concept of duty. The very idea of civilization depends on a complicated matrix of obligations, promises, responsibilities, and respect. >In many religions, the word “stewardship” is used. This is the idea that whatever superior human talents we have make us best placed to protect and nurture the natural world, not to exploit it. >In Christianity, Genesis declares that “God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” In Islam, the word “khalifah” (from which we get caliphate or caliph) means both “ruler” and “leader,” but also “steward.” >To be in charge is to also care for those you’re charged with. In Buddhism’s Second Precept, “do not steal” extends to the environment and all species — they do not belong to us and they are not ours to take. >Pokémon trainers and animal fighters see the world as an exploitable resource, rather than something that needs nurturing. <Power without responsibility >In a world of mass extinctions and unprecedented ecological change, we seem to have lost the concept of stewardship. Kindness, compassion, and civilization mean protecting that which needs protection. >What Pokémon so casually reinforces is the notion that the wild and magical creatures of the world are there to serve a human, however lovable and moral they may be. Before we know what’s happened, there’ll be nothing wild or magical left. >Blood sports around the world work on the assumption that human pleasure is more important than the welfare and pain-free life of an animal. It’s the unashamed use of power to exploit those who are weaker or “lesser” in some way. >But if humanity is to be a great and truly powerful leader, we should protect and bring up that which follows or needs us. Often, in our approach to the animal kingdom, there’s a decided lack of responsibility to our power. https://archive.ph/TAIfH Pokemon trading card thief was caught by gaming shop worker >A man who stole 82 Pokemon cards from a fellow resident at a hostel for homeless people in Suffolk has been given a suspended prison sentence. >Jordan Potts had formerly lived in the same room at Hope House in Kirkley Cliff Road, Lowestoft, as the victim and had let himself into the room with a key he had kept and stole the cards and £10, Ipswich Crown Court heard. >Potts had then taken the cards to a local gaming shop and sold them for £17.50, said Matthew Morgan, prosecuting. >The owner of the shop recognised one of the cards, which had distinctive Japanese characters on it, as belonging to the victim and contacted him to check if any of his cards were missing. >The cards, which were worth £130-£140, were subsequently returned to the victim. Potts, 27, admitted stealing the Pokemon cards and £10 and an offence of fraud. >He was given a four-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months and ordered to do 120 hours unpaid work. He was also given up to a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 20 days and ordered to pay £10 compensation and £500 costs. >Steven Dyble, for Potts, said his client had not appeared before a court since 2016 and was now in work and had accommodation. https://archive.ph/761xY

The next video game from BioShock’s creator is in development hell >It has been nearly eight years since development began on Ken Levine’s next video game. Levine, the creator of the hugely influential BioShock series, is an auteur of the medium. >He embodies everything that comes with the title, according to people who have worked for him: a singular brilliance, stubborn perfectionism and a delicate ego. >Eight years is a long time to develop a game. Levine’s breakout 1999 release, System Shock 2, was finished in a year and a half. BioShock—a seminal shooting game released in 2007 that, according to New York magazine, “proved games could be art”—took about five years, as did a follow-up, which came out in 2013. >His current project, which began in 2014, still doesn’t have a name or a release date. >Development has suffered from numerous reboots and changes in direction, say 15 current and former employees of Levine’s Westwood, Massachusetts-based studio, Ghost Story Games. >Just as critics grant Levine credit for the artistry of his games, many Ghost Story employees readily blame him for their tortured project. Levine is a flawed manager who often struggles to communicate his vision and alienates or browbeats subordinates who challenge him or fail to meet his expectations, say current and former employees, most of whom requested anonymity because they feared repercussions. >A recurring gag around the office invoked another celebrated auteur. Persuading Levine was so difficult that former employees joked about engaging in Kenception, a reference to the film by Christopher Nolan in which Leonardo DiCaprio infiltrates a person’s dreams and plants an idea so that the target thinks he came up with it himself. >Game production is heavily influenced by Hollywood, where famous directors can wield as much clout as the stars on screen. The Steven Spielbergs and James Camerons of gaming include Neil Druckmann (The Last of Us) and Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear). >Like a big-budget movie, their games can require a crew of thousands to produce. Although creative leaders deserve some of the praise they receive, the adulation can mask managerial flaws and set unrealistic expectations. >One of the world’s top game publishers is betting Levine, 55, will eventually deliver. Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. has a 15-year marriage with him. It began with the acquisition of his last company, Irrational Games, and continued with the dissolution of that studio and the creation of Ghost Story, which Take-Two also owns. >The publisher gives Levine a level of autonomy afforded to few game designers. Some of his former employees say the lack of oversight seemed idyllic at first but became detrimental to their work and mental well-being. >Take-Two likely tolerates all of this for the same reason many people have flocked to work at Irrational and Ghost Story over the past two decades: because an auteur is capable of producing something magnificent. But Levine’s managerial style has led to burnout and, former employees say, caused a lot of pain. >Take-Two didn’t respond to requests for comment. Through a representative, Levine declined requests for an interview. But in a 2013 interview with the website Grantland, he addressed the effects of his working style. >If it’s not right, it goes,” Levine said. “It’s not without cost, but I find that the people who are the most experienced at Irrational tend to be the most comfortable with throwing stuff away.” >He saw Mike Snight as one of those people. Levine handpicked Snight from Irrational to help start Ghost Story in 2014. >Ken is a very hard person to work for,” Snight says. “I think he tried a lot to change, and he really excels better at this company than Irrational because it is a smaller group of people.” >Ghost Story set out to revolutionize video-game storytelling but has instead watched other companies accomplish its goals. One employee says the team is optimistic that things are finally on track but estimated a release could still be two years away. >Snight eventually quit, along with half of the original team. He says Levine’s creative process is what drove him to leave after five years there. “When it continuously goes in cycles and you don’t align anymore, you kind of get tired of being part of that,” he says. “I wasn’t really happy anymore.” >On Feb. 18, 2014, Levine gathered the Irrational Games staff in the kitchen of their office in Quincy, Massachusetts. Their last game had come out a year earlier, and it wasn’t clear why they hadn’t yet heard about the next one. >Levine gave them an answer: With trembling hands and tears in his eyes, he said he was shutting down the studio and laying off almost the entire staff. >The announcement was unexpected and abrupt, say more than a dozen people who were there. Levine had formed Irrational in 1997 with two business partners and very quickly found success. >They made a sequel to a sci-fi game owned by Electronic Arts Inc. called System Shock. It fused first-person shooting with horror and became a cult classic. >Take-Two bought Irrational in 2006 and published a spiritual successor, BioShock. It’s considered one of the 30 greatest games of all time, according to Metacritic. The latest iteration, 2013’s BioShock Infinite, sold more than 6 million copies. >Levine explained to the stunned crowd that development of the game had drained him and that the company had grown too large. He wanted to explore new ideas with a smaller team, he said. So Levine was starting a new outfit at Take-Two. >Those who worked with Levine say his mercurial demeanor caused strife. Some who sparred with Levine mysteriously stopped appearing in the office, former staff say. When asked, managers typically described the person as a bad match and said they had been let go, say five people who worked there. >Others simply quit. The studio’s top producer resigned in 2017 following clashes with Levine. People followed Levine because he “can be quite charming and charismatic,” says Pasteris, >who was an AI programmer at Ghost Story. Levine also “can become moody and lash out, singling out an individual, while berating them in front of their co-workers,” >Pasteris says. >Ghost Story employees occasionally asked Levine how long Take-Two would fund their experiments before demanding a product it could sell. >Levine told them that their studio is a “rounding error” for the publisher of Grand Theft Auto, according to two former employees. Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, agrees. >With enough time, Levine offers Take-Two “a realistic chance of a new franchise” like BioShock, he says. “I expect they will continue to allow Ken to take as long as he needs to make something great.” >Auteurs can be effective at enticing investors and consumers to buy into a new intellectual property, says Joost van Dreunen, a professor at New York University who teaches about the video game industry. But he says auteurism is growing out of style as a method for running a game business. >Operationally, it is precisely the type of org structure that results in the various problems the industry faces today,” he says. >Despite its calamitous beginning, Ghost Story was intended to be a friendlier, more supportive environment than its predecessor, says Gonzalez, the founding team member. >But the studio was haunted by Levine’s old ways of doing things. “Intentions are one thing, and reality is another,” Gonzalez says. “ >When there’s a road that’s driven on a bunch, and there’s a rut, getting out of that rut takes energy.” https://archive.ph/MZyyn

Jon Stewart calls JK Rowling’s portrayal of Gringotts goblins in Harry Potter ‘antisemitic >Jon Stewart has accused JK Rowling of antisemitism for her depiction of goblins in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. >A recent episode of the late-night show host’s podcast, The Problem with Jon Stewart, has begun making headlines for his takedown of the Gringotts Bank goblins, which he believes are depicted as Jewish “caricatures” in the series. >Stewart’s argument – that Rowling perpetuates anti-Jew stereotypes in Harry Potter – was based on the similarities between the books’ goblin creatures and an illustration from an antisemitic text,The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, published in 1903. >Stewart, who is Jewish, said most Harry Potter fans were unaware of the reference, while expressing confusion over the lack of outrage over the Gringotts’ goblin bankers in the movies. >I just want to show you a caricature. And they’re like, ‘Oh, look at that, that’s from Harry Potter!’ And you’re like, ‘No, that’s a caricature of a Jew from an antisemitic piece of literature.’ >the Emmy winning host explained. In a world where “you can have a pet owl” and “we can ride dragons”, Stewart continued, >JK Rowling was like, ‘Can we get these guys to run our bank?’” <Rowling’s representatives declined to comment when approached by The Independent. <Stewart is not the first person to bring attention to the goblin characters in Rowling’s books. >In 2020, Saturday Night Live! star Pete Davidson criticised the author for putting “little giant-nosed Jew goblins” in charge of the wizarding bank. >And I can say that because, as you can see, I’m half-goblin,” the comedian joked, during the “Weekend Update” segment on an SNL episode which aired on 10 October 2020. >The podcast episode, which aired in December 2021, has made recent headlines after Twitter user Rafael Shimunov shared the now-viral video from Stewart’s podcast. >In one of the threaded posts, Shimunov noted: “In total fairness, goblin mythology as antisemitic tropes predate all of us, including JK Rowling. >But across Harry Potter novels, JK uses her freedom to reinvent almost anything. But as Jon Stewart points out, the antisemitic tropes maintained.” <The tweet has received over 8,000 likes since it was posted on 3 January 2022. >In 2018, Rowling was dubbed “one of the staunchest allies of the Jews” by the Jewish feminist publication Hey Alma, after the British author began calling antisemitism out online amid rising intolerance in the UK. >One of her tweets at the time read: “How dare you tell a Jew that their outrage is ‘patently synthetic’? >How dare you demand that they lay bare their pain and fear on demand, for your personal evaluation?” What other minority would you speak to this way?” https://archive.ph/iE4OY Guardian ‘Person of the Year’ Poll Deactivated After J.K. Rowling Takes Lead >An online poll conducted by the staunchly left Guardian newspaper seeking nominations for “Person of the Year” has been turned off, sparking speculation it was shut down when author J.K. Rowling took the lead. >The poll was launched on December 15 and posed a simple question: “Who would be your 2021 person of the year, and why?” It can be found here. >As of Wednesday it was no longer live, launching conjecture from a number of sources that the fact author J.K. Rowling was such a dominating choice the outlet had no option left other than to stop accepting nominations. >It still exists but comes with the caveat This form has been deactivated and is closed to any further submissions. >Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, once beloved by leftists for her huge donations to the UK Labour Party and support of the European Union, is no longer tolerated, given her strong views on a range of things Guardian readers might assume to be theirs and their alone. >As reported, last year she was targeted by trans activists for warning children believed to be “trans” should not necessarily be “shunted towards hormones and surgery.” >She was previously denounced as a “TERF” — “Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist” — for defending a woman’s right to decline to describe someone who is not biologically female as a woman. >Daring to suggest biological sex differences retain a degree of significance regardless of “gender identity” has also drawn ire from the left. >More recently she publicly scolded Scottish police for documenting male rapists as “women.” >In a tweet she shared an article from the Times highlighting the absurdity of the practice while reciting three slogans from George Orwell’s 1984. >War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman,” tweeted Rowling. >Following her public stand on a host of issues and refusing to be silenced, Rowling faced severe social media backlash, prompting Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Eddie Redmayne to publicly declare their support for the trans movement. >Actors Ralph Fiennes, who played Voldemort, and Robbie Coltrane, who played Hagrid, have both defended Rowling and her right to hold a public opinion at variance of those on the left. https://archive.ph/28PHk

A Harry Potter MMO was reportedly cancelled by EA due to a lack of belief in the IP >It’s come to light that EA was set to make a Harry Potter MMO in the early 00’s, but was “killed” due to the company’s lack of faith in the series. >That’s according to comments from the company’s former director of product marketing Kim Salzer. She was speaking on an interview with Twitch streamer The Real Brandolorian (as spotted by Video Games Chronicle) where Salzer was asked about any projects she worked on that didn’t see the light of day.“ >A big one for me, because I was so personally involved in it, and it’s such a huge IP that has lived on; is an online massively multiplayer game for Harry Potter. We did all the research, we had a beta built out,” >she revealed. “It was a combination offline/online experience where we’d actually mail stuff to the kids like prizes and ribbons and stuff like that.” >Despite all of the prep work, the project was “killed” because “EA was going through some changes at that time,” she says. “And they just didn’t know or believe enough that that IP would have a shelf life of longer than a year or two”. >Salzer departed EA in 2003. Fast forward to 2021, and the Harry Potter and Wizarding World license is now in the hands of Warner Bros. GTA Trilogy has already dropped out of the UK Top 40, weeks after release >Rockstar’s much-criticised Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition has dropped out of the UK top 40 boxed chart, just two weeks after its physical release >The PlayStation and Xbox versions of the collection were released physically just before Christmas, following the remasters’ digital release in November (the boxed Nintendo Switch edition is due later). >However, the latest GfK data reveals that The Trilogy – which had a troubled launch with very poor reviews – has already dropped out of the top 40 entirely. The week after its release, sales had dropped 70% to No. 23, but now its exited the whole chart. >Even considering its poor reception, GTA’s boxed performance is surprising both considering the incredible popularity of the series – GTA V still regularly appears in sales charts, nearly a decade after its release – and the success of other remasters such as those based on Crash Bandicoot and Tony Hawk’s. >The Definitive Edition was one of the worst-reviewed games of 2021, according to aggregation site Metacritic. The highly anticipated remaster collection released in November with a significant number of technical issues, as well as “unintended” documents within its game files such as unlicensed music and developer notes. >Rockstar subsequently apologised to fans for the state of the game and promised a series of updates to improve the title. >The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world,” it said. >The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.” >Rockstar added: “We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. >With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.” >Following the poor reception, Rockstar delayed the original release window for the collection’s boxed versions by a few weeks, likely to include patched versions of content. https://archive.ph/amX7L Disney, Nick, And Cartoon Network Saw Double-Digit Ratings Plummet (Again) This Year >If you work for Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, or Cartoon Network, you may want to look away now. Variety has collated Nielsen data on network viewership in 2021, and the numbers paint a grim picture for most channels. >Every major broadcaster of animation saw a double-digit slump this year, mirroring the ongoing decline of linear tv. >Below is a list of the animation networks, with their place in the overall chart, number of viewers, and change on 2020. For context, the top-rated network this year was CBS (5,574,000 viewers), followed by NBC (5,484,000) and ABC (4,077,000). <Adult Swim (386,000, -25%) <Nickelodeon (335,000, -32%) <Disney Junior (258,000, -17%) <Disney Channel (233,000, -35%) <Nick Jr. (232,000, -31%) <Cartoon Network (201,000, -26%) <Disney XD (83,000, -13%) <Nicktoons (67,000, -24%) >Variety also ranked the 50 top-rated networks for the 18–49 age bracket. Three of the animation broadcasters made this list: <Adult Swim (224,000, -28%) <Nickelodeon (119,000, -27%) <Disney Junior (91,000, -10%) >All these numbers are on a par with the precipitous drops of the past two years, and continue a downward trend that began before that. Since 2014, Disney Channel has lost 88.1% of its total audience and Adult Swim has dropped by 71.3%. Cartoon Network is down by 79.3% and Nickelodeon by 74.5% since 2016. >The context, of course, is the rise of streaming platforms and video sharing platforms, whose viewership is not included in these charts as it is measured so differently. For years, kids’ cable broadcasters have been hemorrhaging viewers to these services, chiefly Netflix and Youtube. >For the first time this year, all the networks mentioned above have sister streamers within the same parent company. The Nick channels are associated with Paramount+, the Disney channels with Disney+, and Cartoon Network and Adult Swim with HBO Max. >More than ever, the parent companies are actively encouraging audiences to adopt streaming by making prestige titles exclusive to those platforms. Disney has sent out a clear message by shutting channels around the world. https://archive.ph/IvPTo

The first game is about a egomaniac trying to build his perfect little world, and causing it to all blow-up in his face (The fact that Levine is a Kike and made Ryan a kike as well is just the cherry on top). The second game is about a cult leader trying to replace individuality with collectivism, while also dealing with family relationships (Also, no Kike influence as Levine had nothing to do with the game, outside of the element carried over from the first game). And, the third game is just a comic book story about creating a messiah figure, and is best left forgotten. >>118999 >>Genric Captain Planet environmentalism is automatically jewish propaganda Wasn't that also completely missing the point of the game? It's only white culture which has brought all of them together and given them some measure of peace and a society that won't tolerate their bullshit in most circumstances. Once you remove western white society from the equation, or at least prevent the cops from doing their jobs, then the system breaks down in spectacular fashion. Every minority that depended on that system for their wealth and safety - even the criminal elements who rely on stability to run their operations start to turn on each other - especially against the assholes responsible for stirring shit up for no good reason.

Per the trade report, the decision stems from a leadership change at WarnerMedia following the corporation's impending sale to Discovery by parent company AT&T. >As many of you are aware, over the past year or so, this transformative time in our industry has led to a series of business activity across media and content companies,” >CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz wrote in an internal memo obtained by Deadline. “Given that environment right now, ViacomCBS and Warner Bros. are exploring strategic opportunities to optimize the value of their joint venture in The CW Network.” >Pedowitz went on to stress that "it’s too early to speculate what might happen." But if the sale does go through (Nexstar Media Group is considered to be the favorite buyer at this time), what does that mean for the network's library of shows, particularly the DC-inspired lineup produced by Greg Berlanti that comprises a good portion of marquee value? >Well, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first broke the news, "The network isn’t profitable as a stand-alone broadcast entity, but the content produced for it is a valuable asset for other platforms at the parent companies." >As of this writing, a number of CW shows — such as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow — are available to stream on Netflix as part of a billion-dollar deal struck back in 2011, though it should be noted that the agreement was not renewed as of 2019. >The obvious assumption to make here is that The CW's collection of content (including non-DC titles like Supernatural, Riverdale, Walker, and Roswell, New Mexico) will be moved off the airwaves and onto in-house platforms like HBO Max. >There's already a precedent for this after the case of the now-defunct DC Universe, which saw Doom Patrol, Titans, and Harley Quinn shifted over to the WarnerMedia subscription service. >In addition, Stargirl started out as a DC Universe (now a digital comic book service) exclusive before heading over to The CW. Aside from the network app, HBO Max is the only other place where fans can watch Stargirl without the need for rental or purchase fees. >Despite this uncertain future, Pedowitz urged his employees to remain optimistic. "We must continue to do what we do best, make The CW as successful and vibrant as we have always done," he wrote in the memo. >We have a lot of work ahead of us — with more original programming than ever, this season’s expansion to Saturday night, our growing digital and streaming platforms — and we thrive when we come together and build The CW together." https://archive.ph/rjOOp

>>507383 It depends on context. If you're writing some sort of formal or technical work, it's probably best to avoid it. In a more casual setting like this, then it makes more sense. Good writing goes beyond grammar. This is about knowing your audience and using appropriate tone and style. You should always use good grammar, and contractions are acceptable grammar, but sometimes it's still indicative of an inappropriate style for your context. Actually sometimes breaking technical rules of grammar is okay, but again that's highly dependent on purpose, context, audience, style, and readability. Sometimes it's appropriate to break the rules for the sake of artistry. What is not okay is to break the rules for the sake of laziness or just plain not giving a fuck. >>507394 Once you get your degree and get into the classroom, you may end up having a very high degree of freedom on what material you actually cover. It depends on the people above you (department heads, principals, etc.), but many of those people aren't concerned because they're busy doing their own jobs and are happy to delegate so long as nobody gets in trouble. For one example, every time I start at a new school (which is often because getting permanent work, instead of single-term contracts, can take years), I am given the previous teacher's materials, and for some reason they all use extremely similar assignments that include one in particular where students are told to read Cinderella and say how it reflects Marxist and Feminist theory. When I was doing my internship training, I pointed out to my supervisor that this was ridiculous because if the student doesn't subscribe to those theories then they won't think they are reflected, because they disagree that the theories make sense. That supervisor hated me from then on, but luckily she was only a co-supervisor and the other one liked me so I passed. But now I keep getting handed these assignments to give to students, and I could be lazy and just use them, but then it would be soul crushing when I have to actually deliver the lessons, and when I have to mark the papers, so I have to do the extra work to make new lessons and assignments from scratch, but I can take pride in being one of the only damn teachers that actually tries to teach literature analysis and not just political propaganda. Now the real issue is that the entire environment is pozzed. I am currently teaching a Family Studies class and part of it involves discussing gender roles. I'm fine with discussing them as long as we aren't trying to tell the students what to think, but rather, how to think. Turns out all the students were afraid to respond to any questions about gender, because literally none in the class actually agreed with all the SJW bullshit, and once one admitted she just couldn't say what she actually thought because she was afraid she would get in trouble (even though I said she wouldn't), they all agreed. So really they did all say what they think. So the whole class has an understanding of what is bullshit, and what they aren't allowed to say, so sometimes I can approach facts and topics that are verboten, such as criticisms of how the textbook provided by the school is incredibly biased by feminism, but I have to do it delicately. I use it as an example of how to detect bias in a work, saying that there is bias in everything, but some things more than others. And then I don't actually use the textbook very much and basically the whole class agrees it's garbage. >tl;dr: You get a lot of freedom to not talk about stuff, you can just leave out most poz that is suggested, but if you do want to talk about something, by pointing out some stupidity in a textbook, for example, you have to be very delicate.
(267.78 KB 800x1275 ClipboardImage.jfif)

>>119092 I also teach History and it's very useful for dropping redpills, so long as you phrase it the right way. Just make it seem like you're even more SJW than them, but while pointing out facts very inconvenient to SJWs. For example, pointing out the "Noble Savage" stereotype inherent in the perception of pre-colombian Americans as peaceful innocent fairytale creatures that got invaded by evil monstrous Europeans. I point out that they were many different tribes, essentially small countries, and it is racist to group them all together. Obviously they didn't see themselves as all the same, because they were all at war with each other all the time, and gladly teamed up with Europeans who were also in conflict with one of their opposing tribes. So I'm accusing the SJWs of dehumanizing them, but highlighting the fact that humans go to war. The other thing I can do is act like I really, really care about the holocaust, and I care so much that I want to point out all the other holocausts that have happened, both before and after the one that gets called "the" holocaust. I can also highlight the other groups that were targeted in the official story, like gypsies, gays, and the disabled, because I'm just being sympathetic to people who were killed. I'm also doing away with the idea that it was just jews that were targeted. I can also point out that Hitler's original plan was not to kill them, but to just kick them out of Germany, and when that didn't work, to segregate them into their own locations, similar to camps every other country, including our western allies, also had. I can point out that he only moved to kill them when the war made maintaining the camps a distraction and perceived economic cost that the government didn't want to deal with anymore, which western allies were not pressed to do because the US was never so targeted that they moved to kill all the Japanese people they put in camps. I can also point out that the idea of the holocaust was not something most of the world or even academia cared about until the '60s, and the war was not a heroic effort to end it, as it is now portrayed in media. The only way I can do that is by saying "wow, isn't that bad that they didn't even know or care?" But the point is that the fact is out there now and they can draw their own actual conclusions from all the facts that they never had before. I go to great lengths to dispel the idea that the germans were heartless monsters or cartoon supervillains, and point out the real political and social reasons for the war, and why the party was popular, and Hitler's actual stated motivations. I have to say I think they're all bad, but once people hear them, they can think about them. I could keep going with things like this for a long time, but while I can't go full /pol/, I can give a lot of inconvenient facts that SJWs don't like, so long as I frame them as me caring even more than them. Also relevant is how I can mention facts about WWII and the holocaust and students just naturally draw connections to the present. Like how disease outbreaks (in the ghettoes) were used as excuses for why people had to have rights stripped and be sent to camps. Or just bringing up speech laws that governments we aren't supposed to like introduced, and their stated reasons for why, and I can't directly point out that modern western countries are doing the same thing, but some student invariably points it out, and I just say how I can't get into modern politics, but people can draw their own conclusions. Also, I'm usually still allowed to assign 1984 as reading in English classes, though I don't know how long that will continue. But for now, while the idea of forcing children to read it is quite ironic, I'd rather assign that than the SJW shit that other teachers assign. At least this one is an influential classic that people actually like, and not some SJW piece of shit that a tiny fraction of women only pretend to like because it's about a black lesbian. On the first job I got hired for, the class was already in the middle of a semester and reading To Kill a Mockingbird. They made the class stop that book and start over with a new book because that book has the word "nigger" in it. Of course the entire point of the book is that racism is bad, and it's incredibly hamfisted and in your face about it, but no, not SJW enough. Or maybe they were just secretly mad that the real message of the book, the one you have to pick up on if you want an A, isn't about racism, but just general prejudice, exemplified by the notably extremely white Boo Radley (and if anything, I'm only now realizing that the fact that he is especially white might be on purpose to show that despite that difference he is still ultimately the same as Tom Robinson). Can't have a book where the plight of the nigger is undercut by pointing out that the same fundamental issues are also faced by white people. To Kill a Mockingbird is far-right extremism now. I also had a parent complain about Lord of the Flies, but she wasn't specific, and when I replied to her email and said I'd be glad to discuss it, she never replied again. I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with Lord of the Flies. Is it just that Golding is Christian and if you know that you can see Christian themes in the book? It's not like it's very overt about it in any way. Next they'll probably tell me I can't do that one, and The Hobbit will probably be after that. The only book I have found that the students actually like, but if you read it at a much higher level than the students, it has vaguely christian themes, so I guess it shouldn't be allowed. Can't have kids learning about the value of the meek, even though SJWs always say they are standing up for them, because Tolkien happened to get the idea from Jesus. >tl;dr (again): they usually give me a choice of what books to assign, but they do veto many of them.

Funny thing about that, it's been a myth that's existed for centuries. How I found this out was when I was reading Robinson Crusoe last month, and grew extremely tired of how Defoe kept ridiculing the Spaniards their "genocide" of the Mesoamericans (Despite a vital plot of the story being about how said Mesoamericans were all cannibals). >and the war was not a heroic effort to end it, as it is now portrayed in media. Hate to correct you on that front, but that's particularly not true. If you want, I can pull up a VE Day article that was published in the L.A. Also, there's change in the definition of a "pacifist" where, before the world wars, the word referred to another who fought to "maintain peace"; and it was only after the wars that the word changed to refer to anyone who abstained from violence. >I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with Lord of the Flies. >>119101 Yeah, I was forced to read it in a public school in the mid 2000s and it was fine. Nobody batted an eye. I really can't figure out what that lady's problem was. It was over a year ago and I still wonder about it. One that bugged me is one time I had a really dumb Grade 12 English class that could barely read, so I thought I'd assign a comic, which is actually encouraged. But the problem is that either old comics are seen as goofy and not real literature (I strongly disagree, but that's beside the point), or they're modern comics with continuity so complex that you need the equivalent of a Masters Degree in The History of the DC Universe to understand them. But I finally found one that I thought worked. Batman: The Killing Joke is a 50 page short story that is very standalone. You don't need to know anything except Batman and the Joker fight a lot and Commissioner Gordon is Batman's friend. Barbara Gordon is Batgirl but if you don't know that the story doesn't even overtly reference it, so it's fine. (You kind of miss out on the implications of how close Batman and Barbara actually are, which even Joker and Gordon didn't know, so that's some dramatic irony for the reader, but I won't dock marks if students don't pick up on that.) It's not so childish that people would scoff at it, but it's nothing that a group of 17 year olds shouldn't be able to handle. It's a picture book, so even this dumbass class should be able to read it. And they did, and seemed to like it more than anything else they've ever read, which was very little. But then the next day I got told off, being told the book isn't appropriate because it features a rape. Now this pissed me off for several reasons. The first is academic freedom. The degenerate shit usually assigned in English classes is enough to make your skin crawl, but they get the excuse of academic freedom. In fact, almost all of those stories are specifically about rape, as if all these middle aged women that assign them have a goddamn fetish for it, which they probably do. My next problem is that this was a Grade 12 class, with students 17-19 years old, and to act like they aren't old enough for a fucking Batman comic is ridiculous. But what pissed me off most of all, though I couldn't use it as an argument, is that Barbara Gordon is not fucking raped in The Killing Joke. Joker takes fucked up photos of her to mess with her dad, but nothing implies actual rape, and if I were to get really autistic, there is plenty of later continuity that outright denies it. She is raped in that fucking godawful animated adaptation of the book, but that's literally the worst Batman movie ever, by a wide margin, and does not fucking count. If The Joker raped anyone in that book, it was Commissioner Gordon, not because he's gay, but because he wanted to scar him for life. But that isn't what they were arguing.
>>119104 >and the war was not a heroic effort to end it, as it is now portrayed in media. The allies didn't generally want to talk about the holocaust because A) some of them supported it and B) they didn't want to hand the Germans propaganda that foreigners were invading to save their masters.
>>119104 >What the Hell, I don't remember that in my high school English class (Graduated 2014). I was surprised to see it at three or four different schools so far. It's not something assigned by the government or anything. It's just that SJWs operate as a hivemind, or rather, a cult. >Hate to correct you on that front, but that's particularly not true. I don't mean the war was not a heroic effort to end itself, I mean the war was not a heroic effort to end the holocaust. The holocaust was caused by the war much more than the war was caused by the holocaust. >Because it's about kids killing each other. Yeah but kids love that shit. That's the only part anyone likes. It's also the only way to get them to pay attention to Shakespeare, by pointing out that Romeo & Juliet is actually full of swordfights where teenagers stab each other to death.

>>119115 Bruce Timm also had Batgirl rape Batman earlier in the movie, so frankly, saying she got raped later on only makes it seem like The Joker is some sort of cosmic agent of justice. Also I don't know if it's specifically a rape fetish, he just ships Batman and Batgirl for some reason, enough so that in Batman Beyond they basically say that Batman cucked his own son (Nightwing) and stole his girl. Which actually I guess does work for explaining why Nightwing stops appearing after The New Batman Adventures. If he was already mad at Batman before, that shit would ruin any chance of reconciliation. I'm surprised he didn't go full supervillain. And on the topic of the DCAU, there's also the fact that the final subplot of the entire universe, before the final arc with the Legion of Doom and the Anti-Life Equation, is about John Stewart cosmically cucking Hawkman. Turns out Hawkman and Hawkgirl were destined to be together, but once you go black you never go back alive, and that overrides cosmic destiny. And the extra implication is that that wasn't even the case before, but rather John Stewart must have changed history when he went to the dawn of time with Batman, because in Batman Beyond, Warhawk was a white guy, but later, around the time of Stewart's time travel, he becomes a mutt. When Hal Jordan rewrites reality so that his home city doesn't get blown up and millions of people don't die, that's bad, but when John Stewart rewrites reality just so he can cosmically cuck Hawkman, that's fine. So long as the one (previously) tolerable female character in the DCAU can get BLACKED. Or maybe it was Chronos's fault, since it seemed more like his fault for that one scene where John Stewart turned into Hal Jordan. But either way it's really all Timm's fault. That Batman & Harley Quinn movie was god awful too. One moment Harley Quinn ties Nightwing up and rapes him, but it's okay because we're supposed to think it's hot. Two minutes later, Harley shits herself in the back of the Batmobile. Pick a tone, you degenerate fuck. I don't want either of these tones in a Batman movie, but if you're gonna do them, at least pick one and stick to it instead of doing things that clash with each other so strongly. It's hard for me to think Harley raping Nightwing is hot enough to overlook when two minutes later I become aware that poor Alfred is probably going to be tasked with cleaning her diarrhea out of the backseat of the Batmobile. That means she's not hot, which means I'm not about to overlook that she just raped (a) Robin, which also means that I'm gonna remember that her next canonical appearance is in Return of the Joker, where she again is torturing and (this time only symbolically) raping (a middle aged) Robin. So this all makes it hard to accept her as a hero through the remainder of the movie. Not that she should be treated as a hero anyway, but at least try to make it emotionally easy to accept. Okay wait I guess Timm does have a rape fetish. And a scat fetish. It's the only way this makes sense. Still better than that stupid Justice League vs The Fatal Five follow-up they did to it, though, where it was marketed as actually being DCAU even though it had nothing to do with the DCAU, and nobody even references that the Justice League already met the Fatal Five and the Legion of Superheroes. They don't even reference that last we saw, Supergirl abandoned Superman and everyone else she knew to go live with the Legion in the 31st Century. If you're gonna market to autists, at least try a little.

While this is true, the only classes I ever took only mentioned this if they were trying to push the false "smallpox blankets" thing, and they never mentioned that the Americans had diseases the Europeans were more susceptible to, even though it's obvious logic. They try to imply, maybe because they unconsciously believe, that pre-colombian america was free of disease, like some sort of Eden. >Since some anons are talking about comics, are there any good comics that are even worth to read that has very little to do with capeshit? My specialty is capeshit, but I really like Jonah Hex, which is a western series. Has a few hundred issues over time (first introduced in 1970 and has had several series since), but most of the stories are standalone, so you can pick up any issue and understand it. It is technically in the DC Universe, but he lives in the late 19th century, so he doesn't interact with superheroes very often (though there are occasional time travel stories, but they're usually in the other characters series and have them go back to meet Hex, rather than suddenly having an issue of Jonah Hex that isn't a regular western). He does interact with other DC characters, but they're old western characters from when westerns were still popular, and it's not like they expect you to have read old 1950s issues of Scalphunter to understand who he is. But Scalphunter is cool so it is cool when he shows up. He'll probably never show up again now because the premise is that he's literally an indian named Scalphunter, but I recall him appearing as late as the 2010s. Also there is one western guy named Nighthawk who is technically Hawkman in a previous life and sometimes shows up, but you don't need to know that, you just need to know he's a cowboy. Also there was one series called HEX from the late '80s where for some reason they thought it would be a good idea to have Hex go to the post-apocalyptic future of the mid-21st century and do Mad Max shit. But you can just not read that one if you don't want to. Again, most of this stories are standalone. Though it is cool every once in a while when he casually mentions those events, and you're like "oh yeah, I can't believe that retarded shit is technically still canon." Hex is basically the only character in the DCU where basically everything he's ever been in is still canon to him. Oh yeah I forgot there was a Jonah Hex movie, but it had Megan Fox and I assume it's awful. Also he was in that show Legends of Tomorrow, but that show is SJW as fuck, so they couldn't even have him wear his classic outfit, because his classic outfit is his uniform from when he served in the Confederate Army. But ignore all my autism. >tl;dr: Jonah Hex is a cool as fuck cowboy that has hundreds of issues of cool and gritty standalone western stories. One of the most successful non-capeshit series, especially at DC or Marvel, and that's for a good reason. Also, just read Watchmen. It's sort of capeshit, but not really, it's a commentary on capeshit, among many other things. And it ruined the entire genre because it was so good that afterwards every bad writer was trying to copy it. But it is still worthy of its high reputation. It is a "deconstuction," but while that term has earned a bad reputation over time, Watchmen is actually very nuanced, and doesn't reflect what modern "deconstructions" would make you think of. People on this site might also be interested in Enemy Ace. He's another DC character but again not a superhero, and he only very rarely interacts with superheroes (and you don't need to pay attention to those stories if you don't want to). Basically he's The Red Baron. An honorable enemy pilot, very frequently seen from the perspectives of narrators on the American side of WWI (because it's an American series), but then that's what can make it interesting to see an enemy protagonist. Not the most original, but there are good stories with him. Though many of them are much older, and some people have a problem with the styles of older comics compared to newer ones. But there is a more modern one ('90s IIRC) that I think is really underrated, called Enemy Ace: War Idyll, which is a graphic novel deliberately aimed at a more adult audience, where some guy is interviewing an elderly version of him, because he is one of the last World War I veterans from either side. Someone interested in grounded and nuanced war comics, and one that actually humanizes both sides, would probably like this. I also personally like The War That Time Forgot, which is a series of stories about different World War II soldiers who keep ending up on Dinosaur Island, which is exactly what it sounds like. It's got 1950s cheese to it, but it's crazy enough to entertain me. I'm not gonna say it's really an all time great, but it keeps getting referenced in the DCU all these years later because it's a lot of fun. Another good non-capeshit one is Kamandi. Jack Kirby is the greatest comics creator ever (created Captain America, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Thor, X-Men, and probably more than half of the characters you've ever heard of), and DC poached him away from Marvel by telling him he could make whatever he wanted, but then they changed their minds and cancelled his magnum opus without an ending, and told him to make a ripoff of Planet of the Apes instead. But he's a great artist and it was a great series. But yeah basically it's planet of the apes but instead of just apes it's a bunch of superintelligent animals, and Kamandi is basically the last human. Again, you have to like that old school style though. It's from the '70s, but Kirby was an older guy and using older styles, though experimenting with them a lot. >>119124 I've only read the first three volumes of Bone, but I must second this. It was great. To hear it gets better makes me want to read more. >>119132 IIRC, it doesn't work if the target truly feels no remorse.

>>119134 >first pic is me I'm honored. >second pic All true, but I think even more important than growing bored at events is simply deciding you can't afford it. Single issues are expensive and have been getting much more expensive, relative to inflation, for a long time, because they keep shifting their strategy more and more to relying on whales. But eventually you decide it's not worth buying hundreds of issues per month at $3 or $4 or now probably $5 each just so you can understand one uber-autistic story. It might even be a good story, but it's not worth that much fucking money every month. Also, he says that the "fan oriented" approach started in the early 2000s, and while he's right that that's when they hired people like Geoff Johns to roll back the biggest changes of the '80s and '90s, I'd argue the trend can be traced much further back, at least to the '80s, with the changes that eventually got rolled back. Replacing Barry Allen with Wally West could be seen as something that would anger Barry fans, but what makes Wally interesting is only evident if you're already a fan and can appreciate his history of being Barry's sidekick for 25 years. For casuals, things would be a lot simpler if Barry was just THE Flash and that was all there was to it. The late '80s is when continuity started assuming you already knew a lot of stuff and reader lockout became much more common. Ironically it really got going shortly after The Crisis on Infinite Earths, which had the stated goal of making things simpler, but only made things much more complicated. One could also argue it was a bad idea to cater to fans enough to introduce an autistic multiverse system in 1963 because fans of the Flash series that got cancelled in 1949 didn't like that they rebooted the series with a completely new continuity in 1956. That's where the real autism started. But all that said, I don't like this talk about catering to fans being bad. That's what leads to SJWs feeling justified in not knowing anything about the series they write, and in doing things that are antithetical to the appeal of the series in the first place. Because to do otherwise would just be "catering to fanboys" and that's bad now. SONIC'S ARMS ARE BLUE! AND HE HAS HORRIFYING HUMAN TEETH. FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY, SEGA.

>>119141 I think part of the whole SJW turn is that SJWs tend to be trust-fund babies who conspicuously spend their money. Part of their understanding of their identity is the meaningless shit they surround themselves with, because that is all they are left with without gods to pray to. Disney can continue to lose money on comics because toys and shirts and mugs and shit make all those losses and more back. They all shit on the fans, because the fans aren't their customers: blue-haired twats who buy MERCHANDISE are the customer, and the comics are only there so those twats can buy them, not read them, and feel like they have a real, small-town, middle class American hobby.

>>119149 But that's not even true. SJWs don't buy shit. A few funkopops, sure, but do you really think that was worth eliminating the entire child market? Every kid in the world loved Spider-Man and Batman, and with this rise in the popularity of other characters like Iron Man and the other Avengers, they could have been selling all that merch too. But they completely abandoned not just the fans, but the normalfags. If they catered to normalfags I would understand. That would make sense. Even though I'm a hardcore fan, I do think they were catering way too much to people like me ever since the '80s. They should have been catering to normalfags, but they completely abandoned them for SJWs that don't even buy shit. I'd argue it's because, like every other industry, SJWs invade HR departments and then get control over hiring and firing. That's what must really be watched. They infiltrated HR departments and now openly don't care about making money anymore. They only care about propaganda and spite. Do you think they don't see the symbolism behind raping Superman? They're all arts majors. They're all about symbolism. Superman symbolizes Truth, Justice, and The American Way, so they raped him, because they always say that rape isn't about sex, it's about power. They wanted to establish their power by literally raping The American Way itself. Of course as I've said before, it's all a waste of time, because everyone knows in their hearts that this shit doesn't really count. Because the real canon isn't handed down by editorial, it's handed down by cultural osmosis. The real canon is what people remember and care about. The real Superman doesn't live on pages of books that can be tainted by SJWs. The real Superman lives in our hearts.

>>119207 Nothing is truly a natural right; we live at the suffrage of other people not cutting our throats every day. However, things we call inalienable rights are declared by those who yearn for them; the founding fathers, fearing and dreading the long arm of the british king, laid down their ideologies onto paper and made absolute statements about them, and now in an era when kikey doctors and medical companies are gouging prices to rake in as much cash as they can, people are announcing medical fees as unjust and making vague overtures about reducing or removing them.

I didn't remember owning half this shit.
>>119210 The problem is that as much as leftists talk about empathy, they lack the empathy to understand the difference between the right to not have something done to you, and the right to force someone else to do something. An empathetic person would understand it's wrong to force people to do something and thus think people should ultimately just have the right to be left alone if they want. These retards lack empathy and any sense of long-term planning, so they don't understand that the things they call rights are all "the right to force people to do what I want," or in other words "the right to take away other people's rights." Of course I want free health care, but I don't think people should be forced to provide it against their will. To celebrate Castlevania's 35th anniversery, Konami has graced you with... the chance to auction for "NFTs" of NES tracks and webms of the NES games. Wow! >>119142 Just for reference some dipshit is bidding 211 DOLLARS for this webm that I rightclick saved 'stole' and then had to resize because it was ridiculously huge for a 1 minute webm for a dogshit gameplay video of some guy supposedly showing off Holy Water on Dracula. Also 177 dollars for that NES castlevania map that I could probably find online in minutes. >>119215 Nun of the hot ones are real though. >>119054 Is there a reason why futa proportions(as in tits, ass, hips and thighs, the benis can fuck off out of sight) are often like so? I find it a shame that most of the girls involving BIG girls with good proportions are Futa, especially the ones where the BIG girls are lewding smaller ones.
(505.58 KB 1266x688 fa6.png)

>>119217 >Nun of the hot ones are real though. You little shit, carlos
>>119217 Wait, so they are actually selling out the fucking songs? What a way to spit on the work of the original teams.
>>119217 I assume it's because people who like futa want to be submissive to women, and it's easier to be submissive if they're bigger than you in every aspect.
>>119219 >What a way to spit on the work of the original teams. Doubt they give a fuck because they didn't let those teams even get credit. I heard it was so other companies wouldn't poach them. >>119217 The entire value of NFTs is that they're special. If companies keep making these, they'll have no value at all, much like all the junk crypto that's flooded the market and is worth .0000007 cents per 1,000,000.
>>119217 It's mostly western futa that's like that. Japanese futa is, in games at least, usually normal anime girls with a dick or hyper-abominations where proportions really don't matter. For some reason, in western art fetishes seem to draw in more fetishes, like how there's so little vanilla furry art compared to stuff with futa, hyper, vore, and the entire gamut of weird shit.
>>119217 >Nun of the hot ones are real though. >He never went to the church with the hot nuns
>>119220 Sounds like a load of faggotry to be honest. I don't get why Futa isn't just treated as a yuri with flesh strapon and instead has to involve all of this mega faggotry like NTR or uber submissive men(or men in general).
>>119221 I know they are and were scum to their employess, but selling their legacy in piecemeal for crack money is just humiliating.
>>119224 because youre reading the wrong futa fics you colossal nigger probably because you write them all off rather than sorting through them for your specific fetish https://nhentai.net/g/384588/ but also because guys who get that hard into the fetish start to put themselves into it, ergo male insert as a double entendre
>>119224 Futa is a shit fetish. So it's not surprising that futafags also like other shit fetishes like NTR and femdom, due to how infinitely rockbottom their nigger tastes are.
>>118983 Never thought I'd consider unironically buying a JK rawling book but leftist butthurt is making it really tempting. Anything other than Harry Potter that's she's wrote? I own a copy of Battle field 3 I think it was? Point is that was the last game I bought from that shitty publisher, I don't even play their free shit either out of spite towards them. Ehh to be fair the game probably wouldn't have done well either, maybe a decade ago a Harry Potter game made by EA would have sold like funnel cakes at a carnival but the times have changed since then. >>118994 The Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy was good shit. Maybe I'll buy some physical copies of that series instead with my spare Bezos bucks instead? Well depends on who receives the money as a publisher of course, I don't want to give a cent to nu-CN. I find it a shame that most of the girls involving BIG girls with good proportions are Futa, especially the ones where the BIG girls are lewding smaller ones. There's an unwritten rule that some artists follow about non-magical futanari having an hormonal imbalance (probably as a result of having a cock) that affects them during puberty, causing their bodies to be developed past the average for regular women. Some anon theorized a while ago (pic related) that said imbalance actually is a natural evolution that appeared to accommodate the female body to the power of the cock. Personally I think its like >>119220 said and artists simply drawn futas with XL bodies to accentuate the idea of them being the dominant partner, similarly to how many straight artists draw men that are way bigger than the women (this is specially common in rape doujins because of power plays). Peoples' motivations for things are far more often "it makes my dick hard" or "it makes me money" or "it just looks right" than "it fulfills some biological principles that I know of and respect in my work." Then again, artists are usually not normal people. It mainly is "because muh dick", but some artists included a bit of background in their porn and narrate how the girl that is about to fuck you used to be just as small as you before puberty hit and turned her into a rape machine.

>>118991 Along with the grafix problems, the thing with all of the GTA's (not played 4 in a while so maybe not that so much) is the main stories are pretty short if you drill down on them. Most of the fun in the games was the sandbox element but since you've already seen (and heard) it all before and more in depth in later versions they all feel kinda pointless to go over again. I replayed San Andreas recently and was done in like 5 days with no desire to keep going.

>>119243 It's not fair to ask this kind of thing of you since neither you nor Konami, I'm sure, knows the details. I'm still surprised that a buyer would get even that. I would assume that the player'd be required to agree to a "terms of service" type contract before being allowed to purchase an NFT (read: something slipped in the terms the player agrees to before the player can play the game), and that's all the player would get, and it's on the player to produce a copy of it later when they try to claim that they actually own something. I mean, it ought to be easy to include the contract along with the actual NFT as verifiable digital information, I guess, but that doesn't mean anything is going to require the seller to do it that way. Anyhow, until the actual contract is available it's all speculation, but you can be sure Konami will consult the finest faggots to figure out how best to screw people who give them money. >>119247 It's fine, anon. The experts don't understand it. Nobody does. It's like any other form of gambling, except that since the plays aren't actually independent you can sometimes have a chance of predicting what's going to happen, so there's at least the logical possibility of making money by predicting what it's going to do with some kind of system. >>119250 But I can argue that you should want to be a six-breasted furry in that case because that situation has even MORE breasts than the one you describe.
>>119247 Remember how people used (and still do) to sell WoW/Runescape Gold for real money? Crypto is like that, but instead of farming for hours in a game to get gold your PC solves 8moe's PoW complex math problems to get unique magic numbers that are automatically added to a huge accounting book detailing who owns them and what they do with them. >>119249 Not just that. Igor Bogdanoff's death coincided with the start of a series of revolts in Kazakhstan (the second largest miner of BTC) that hit crypto hard (because the government shut down internet, leaving cryptofags unable to trade their digital shekels) and that could cement the return of the USSR since Putin is sending Russian troops there to "calm things down".
>>119251 Hard pass on the furry part and two breasts on one body is the perfect number for me. Yeah that triple breasted chick from Total Recall, depictions of single breasted actual amazons/archer women and various Slaaneshi demon art turns me off, two breasts or no chest. >>119247 The idea is that people are using their GPUs and rigs to compute very complex shit for other people, selling their computational power as a service. Cryptos are meant to be valued as a mix of said loaned computational power and the intrinsic value people put into them, basically how much people trust that particular currency to have value. There's a twofold problem though: on the one hand, generating any meaningful amount of cryptocurrency requires a LOT of computational power, which means a lot of GPUs wasted on huge crypto farms / scammers installing miners on commodity hardware of boomers and inattentive users, as well as requiring tons of power to run, which in turn increases the price of energy consumption (that's why China declined more mining on its soil, they keep having blackouts due to coal shortages and economic wars, and that's how Kazakhstan is going the way of Lybia as we speak). On the other hand, people keep throwing around technobabble so much that the average normie thinks he's cool and intelligent for investing in Runescape Gold tier currency, so you get a ton of scammers and rug pulls (basically some guy creates a new meme crypto coin, inflates its price immensely by convincing people to invest in it and pulls out of the scheme once he's sold enough of them to make a profit, leaving the other investors to wallow in misery with a useless currency that they can only trade among themselves). Banks won't accept it, but not only because it breaks the petro/trust currency's monopoly of central banking systems, but also because it's 1) extremely volatile, and banks really fucking hate volatile investments and 2) it can easily be tied to gray area businesses such as CP, terrorism/activism or torrenting groups, and banks hate even the slightest bad publicity. >>119253 >Isn't Runescape gold literally keeping Venezuela's economy afloat somehow? >>119253 It's not surprising that it was turned into a scheme, because the internet gives con men enormous reach, precision targeting to the point where people self-target for things, and has exposed to full view just how credulous large segments of populations are. The only downside is that debunking also spreads quickly to those people who are receptive to it, which is bad for things like cults but not so harmful to schemes designed to pay off quickly. >>119254 I don't know anything about metals. If metal is generated passively by playtime, then perhaps, if there's a limited amount of metal that can ever be generated. The whole idea of a cryptocurrency (my earlier post was mostly about trading it, not the stuff itself) is sort of parallel, I think, to something like real-life gold, which has value not only because people want it to look at or use in industry, but because there's only so much of it that's been found, more of it can't be readily found, and there's a limit to how much of it will ever be found. A cryptocurrency has value partly because only a certain amount of it will ever exist: it's scarce. If someone wants some of it, currently they either have to buy it from someone who has some for something else of value, or do a lot of "work" (effective read: spend real money) to obtain their own. Someday, it won't be possible to just go out and do work and generate some of your own. As for why people want a cryptocurrency in the first place? For the same reason people want fiat money, I assume: they're effectively betting that at some future time they'll be able to convert their hoarded up cryptocurrency into something useful to them, like some national currency or a product or service they want. With something like a dollar, that's generally been a safe bet, since lots of people in a lot of places accept dollars at an agreed upon value for things like foreign currencies, or at some at least somewhat stable or predictable rate for something like bread or a blowjob. I'm pretty sure without evidence that most actual cryptocurrency miners don't want the cryptocurrency but want people to buy it from them for money that is currently readily convertible into services without a bunch of intermediate steps, rather than for buying things directly with the cryptocurrency--but as you can probably tell it's getting to be kind of a complicated situation.

They literally built their own bug-exclusive cities, with their own chink policeforce, and chink workers and chink everything and they shoot any nigger that tries to get in. Europeans have a great weakness: Compassion. The chinks don't. They're insanely ruthless to their own people, driving over kids and just letting them bleed out at the side of the street as hundreds pass by. And now imagine them somehow giving even less of a shit because they dislike niggers to start with.
>>119273 Wait Chinks actually live in those hollowed out concrete towers now? Last I remember they were basically abandoned like all their meme city mega projects.

His goal was never fighting kikes or anything when ruining the economy, he is the kike. Most Turks are nigger level IQ retards, I genuinely believe that this must be the most cucked country in the world. All erdogan has to do is say "allah" and millions vote for him because they see him as the most religious. Then he fills the country with millions of arabs and claims that Germany is jealous of our prosperity when %50 of the country earns minimum wage of 300$. Meanwhile his voters blame every bad thing erdogan has done on opposition even though opposition has had 0 power in the last 20 years. People call erdogan "right-wing" but other than being religious he has nothing to do with right. You might as well call him islamo-marxist.

>>119286 >I'm a lazy fuck and hate having to type out long passwords. Offline password managers are a thing, with a password manager (you) use one regular master password you memorize to open the database in which you store the login info for whatever you want using separate entries. You can then copypaste the password (and username/email if you want) from the manager straight into whatever it is you're logging into. If you want to, you can use a tool within the program to create randomly generated passwords for your logins, and the chances of your passwords being bruteforced decreases rapidly. Personally I have been using keepass and it's forks for longer than I remember. It's cross platform and the databases are compatible between different forks of it. Currently on linux I'm using a dead fork called keepassx since it still happens to be in my distros repositories: https://github.com/keepassx/keepassx It looks like picrelated by default when using Matcha-dark-azul theming on xfce. For android there is KeePassDX: https://github.com/Kunzisoft/KeePassDX
>>119293 Huh I might just start using that. Will it work/run of a Micro SD card? I carry one plus the adapter in my wallet sometimes so that would be really convenient. As >>119295 implies, the database itself is saved into a single .kdbx file that can be moved around or copied at will. You could just put it in the same folder as the portable program itself if you wish. There is also a synchronization mechanism built in if you ever need to merge several of these databases: https://keepass.info/help/v2/sync.html

Just like how they believe we should de-nuclearize, and ban guns, this logic doesn't believe in negative deterrents as a concept. Only in rewards for positive behavior, that won't work if there's no deterrent, because there's more to be gained from negative behavior without consequence than there is to be gained from hard work with gradual rewards.
