However, it's managed to have a big foothold in many distros, but as of now there's still plenty of distros without it for those who don't want to use it.

I got a stand for it so it could be placed onto the stand as a second monitor when I'm not using it in my lap. The issues and extras I had to buy are not deal-breakers in the long run. Everything else is good. Screen is good. Software works. Express keys work. Pen works (no battery needed). Gets a little warm in the lap, but that's common. The only features I'm missing compared to Wacom is touch strips for changing zoom / brush size and being able to flip the pen to use the other end as an eraser. You have side buttons on the pen that they expect you to use for switching to the eraser so I use that. It's quicker anyways.
