WELCOME!! 16crystals 10/30/2021 (Sat) 23:41:53 No. 70618 [Reply]
Welcome to /mai/! We migrated from 8kun.top/mai/ and 8chan.moe/mai/ is now our new home. We migrated many of our old threads along the way. Sadly, original images could not be migrated since 8kun is now deleting all images uploaded by its users. Feel free to bump old threads, create new ones, and also join us on our Discord (see Discord thread >>70617 ). You can also introduce yourself and your waifu in the intro thread ( >>70622 ). WHY WE DECIDED TO MIGRATE TO 8CHAN.MOE We decided to migrate to 8chan.moe after numerous major problems with 8kun: 1) 8kun is basically a Q-Anon fortress now, so it’s not the best environment to attract new waifuist users. 2) Broadly speaking, 8kun doesn’t have a good reputation since the events that lead to the fall of the original 8chan. We want to stay away from drama.

Advice Thread VI 16crystals 10/07/2018 (Sun) 20:02:20 No. 68902 [Reply] [Last]
Need some help with your relationship? Feeling unsure about certain aspects of your love? Well this is the right place to ask! Any question related to waifuism is welcome. As always, be understanding while giving advice. Waifuism is not easy, especially in its early phases. And even if you don’t have any concrete advice to give, simply showing your empathic concern and moral support can sometimes do just as good.

>>71982 >like I never done anything for her >never feels like it's enough I share the impulse to be a Provider and to always romantically pursue her heart, but also take care not to be too transactional. I'm sure she loves your art but it almost sounds like you feel compelled to fill an Art/Service/Gift "quota" that must be regularly met to "earn" her love -- when I don't think such a dynamic exists in a loving relationship, 2D or 3D. She loves you just for being you, just like you do for her :)

Former waifufag here. It's been a while since I've visited any of these communities since I remember being on good terms with some of them. Of course, most of those communities are either dead or aren't worth visiting nowadays. Also not sure if most of the people I spoke with back then still have waifus today (this was about 8 years ago give or take, pls understand). With this in mind, I'm curious to ask: are there any waifuists here who have stuck around for that long? My relationship with my waifu ended around four years ago and I dropped out of waifuism about three years ago. But I know some folks who managed to stick around with a waifu for a long time, so who knows. My waifu was pic related btw

>>72086 Sure they would benefit but again we fall into the same thing we talked about countless times in the thread, thats not the experience for most, most people will live with these kind of feelings forever because they're just as normal as happiness, sadness, distress, pity, fear etc. As said prior this advice can even be potentially dangerous since on their efforts to "release" this emotions they could mistakenly end up supressing them or bottling it up, which has multiple negative side effects, I think you mean well anon, but this isn't the unique way to about jealousy.
>>72087 Will fully feeling emotions from one experience prevent you from ever feeling that emotion again? No. But it will help you to emotionally move past that experience. A lot of emotional pain people feel is extended way past its necessary length because people repress the emotion, feeling a low level of it unconsciously for a long time and then in the end feeling even worse when they finally do accept it later. People also internalize negative experiences as a way to make themselves feel better momentarily, again leading to bad outcomes later. (Someone telling themselves there is something wrong with them for being rejected because it's an easier way to make the pain go away than acknowledging that you are still a good person and some people will not like you regardless, as an example. It's adopting a flawed view of the situation to lessen emotional pain.) >>72088 I mean at that point we're just saying that any information exchange at all is bad because it can potentially be misinterpreted and lead to difficulties. Like I said above, pain is a part of life, but suppressed or internalized pain is unnecessary and perhaps helpful in the short term but overall worse in the long term.
>>72089 >Like I said above, pain is a part of life, but suppressed or internalized pain is unnecessary and perhaps helpful in the short term but overall worse in the long term. So in a nutshell, we are allowed to say "I really don't like meeting people with the same waifu as me, it makes me feel awful", right? Because this way we are, as far as I can tell, actually expressing the pain

>>72081 >What do you mean, you are the one who took 4 days to reply. I merely said that because you regardless of when, appeared again, had you posted that a week ago or an hour ago you're still here. >Which Morality Code says falling in love is immoral except within the approved boundaries? Sounds like a thought crime if you ask me What I said is immoral is polygamy which most current civilized moral codes consider wrong, falling in love in itself isn't immoral per se what's immoral is how you act due to it, you can fall in love with how many girls you want, but when you go and actually practice polygamy with them that's when it turns immoral, admittedly reading it again it can be misunderstood as love in itself, my bad there. Regarding the "thought crime" point, you can think what you want just as I can think what I want about what you think, and I don't think you should be penalized in any way shape or form due to disagreeing with me (or holding views I see as immoral), but I sure will express distaste if I feel like it, we are both humans with free will and freedom of expression. >Irrelevant when discussing 2D crushes. Let me know when I can get legally married to my waifu, then we can compare 2D and 3D relationships Aha, finally something that explains what you as an actual individual believe and therefore why we are clashing here, you see to me waifuism is a relationship and a true waifuist would treat (to some degree) his waifu as if she was real, this includes not cheating on her obviously, it seems we have fundamentally opposed views here (at least from this little text, I could be wrong). >To...? Refer to my answer to the previous point, you would cause the anime girls pain if they were real, let’s not kid ourselves, most people won’t enter a polyamorous relationship. >There's no Mrs. Evolution that can be reached out for comments, you are just using the scientific concept to back your personal convictions. Any scientist would gladly tell you that a theory is data + interpretation, and it is always human beings who interpret Not really? Im just saying that without monogamy we wouldn’t be here (obviously we aren’t here only thanks to monogamy), if it wasn’t so good then we wouldn’t have eventually gotten to it, especially since there’s precedent of polygamy in the past, it was literally rooted out for most humans and even as society’s we have constantly considered polygamy and in general being with more than one partner wrong and immoral (at most “admirable” if you’re a man, something I don’t agree with). >Yeah, you for example totally sound like a friendly, reliable and understanding person who can be trusted with delicate information. Again, you can think what you want just as I do, moving on. >Try being less judgemental if you want people to trust you with their secrets. The way you conflate "honesty" and "immorality" makes it clear that you intend to be heavily judgemental with whatever information reaches you. That's how you get people to whisper behind your back that you cannot be trusted and should be kept at arm's length I wont be and I don’t care if people trust me or not, and despite what you say I hold enough information (given to me directly by the individuals and not gossip) to make a decent post, but I wont because its personal, even if im judgmental that doesn’t mean ill hate you for it, if anything when someone is honest even if I disagree with it they at least get some respect since they’re being honest.

>>72083 >you're still here. Got a problem with that? Yeah, I guess you do >I don't think you should be penalized in any way shape or form due to disagreeing with me You will excuse me if I say you don't sound particularly credible here. >you see to me waifuism is a relationship If this were true you wouldn't see multiple people with the same waifus... unless that means the waifu is somehow polygamist? So maybe the problem lies with the individual character? >I could be wrong I'd say you are, because you are not bringing up the elephant in the room that monogamy should go both ways and that it feels just fake to promise unconditional monogamous love to a character when another waifuist is also in love with that character, and maybe they are even noisy about it >you would cause the anime girls pain if they were real

Did any of you found out something horrible about your waifu that you didn't know before? Anonymous 10/08/2024 (Tue) 18:12:24 No. 71993 [Reply]
As the subject said. Did any of you found out something horrible about your waifu that you didn't know about before? Is it even possible to still love your waifu after? Have any of you coped and made new head canon about your waifu, since there is barely any official lore about her? I'm struggling with this. I found out something horrible about my waifu, even though it's not mention in any official canon, it's just that my waifu is based off Japanese mythology and there are discoveries/links to this mythology and links to non-Japanese influence. Then again maybe it's karma for sins? I never dreamed about my waifu and I fantasized about others since they are fictional characters (unfortunately).

>>71993 OP here. I'm going to schizo blog post about why I made the thread. My waifu is Momiji Inubashiri, the white wolf tengu from Touhou. Later on 4chan/pol/ I found out that tengus in ancient Japan may actually be jews posing as mythological creatures. In fact, there's video of a Japanese TV show that shows all of the links of the tengu actually being jews. https://www.bitchute.com/video/M3D1Ad0uXqwa Here is the catbox link, even though this version was shortened: https://files.catbox.moe/68561u.mp4 But general proof/consensus: >Star of David/Star of Remphan being a symbol of Israel shows up a lot at Japanese temples associated with tengus. >Mt. Kubote in Fukuoka where it is said the tengu once lived in. It is said in the 5th century A.D. a goblin appeared in the mountain and surprised people. A museum curator pulled out an old scroll drawing of the tengu/goblin. It looked like a man with a long nose. >The tengu has a strong resembelence to the mask of the Hata people with the huge nose. >The small black tokin boxes/tokin hat which the tengu put on their head is very similar to custom in Judaism of phylactery, which according to Britannica, is a Jewish religious practice, one of two small black leather cube-shaped cases containing Torah texts written on parchment. The TV show in the video actually went to the Jewish community center in Tokyo and talked to (((Rabbi Henry Noah))), to confirm the customs are similar. >Japanese story of Ushiwaka-maru receiving a tora no maki (basically translates to tora scroll) from the Kurama Tengu after finishing his training. This is mostly linked the crow tengu (like Aya, Hatate, and Megumu), but the fact that Momiji, being a tengu may be a jew was heartbreaking. I do identify as NatSoc after all and hate jews, now my waifu is a jew? How could Momiji be a jew? She's strong, loyal, honest, have a strong sense of justice, dutiful, and even motherly. Traits a jew doesn't have.

Do you guys ever dream about her? Not even necessarily like lucid dreaming, just like in normal dreams.

I had a dream about Patchouli for the first time the other night. I had a dream that I was at a super market in a nearby town shopping. It was all pretty normal except the fact that she was there with me.

Last night I (sort of) dreamed of Flandre. It was a weird dream. I was inside a sort of hyperrealist videogame which was also partly reality… I guess dream logic made this world both virtual and real at the same time… So I was in this game/reality and I recall having a weapon inventory similar to the guns available in Resident Evil 4. The place was some sort of gigantic convention as there were multiple people cosplaying all sorts of characters. At some point, I reached the entrance of a room that was absolutely humongous, like a sort of massive stadium with at least 500 000 people in it. I remember being impressed by how many people were in there and I took my semi-automatic snipper rifle (from Resident Evil 4) to zoom in in the crowd as to see if the game was rendering people’s face properly as I could not see them well from afar. Not sure when exactly, but at some point, I got inside that huge room and I met a girl who was cosplaying as Flandre. I recall her being extremely beautiful and attractive. For reasons that I can’t remember, I started talking about those weird stories and characters I used to create with a friend during my early teenage years. We talked for a little while and a few other people joined us, but then we got separated at some point. I got out of that huge room and walked in the rest of the building, which was also full of people. At some point I entered a restroom and there was full of arcade machines inside of it, including retro ones. Then, I don’t know why I suddenly did this, but I yelled to all the guys in the restroom: "Hey, let’s all go shoot everyone in that huge crowded room!!", and all the guys in the restroom answered a loud manly "YEEEAAAAH!!!" and we went to shoot people in the huge room, but sadly I woke up before I could reach it. In the end, I wish I could have spent more time with the Flandre cosplayer and ultimately go with her to shoot everyone in the huge room.
No. Not yet. I guess I am not worthy enough or there is something wrong with me. Maybe I'm not committed/fanatical enough.
sometimes i have sleep-paralysis. some times those who have sleep-paralysis sometimes say they see "the hat man" https://monster.fandom.com/wiki/Hat_Man i did not see "the hat man" i saw my waifu i now believe that "the hat man" IS my waifu i now believe that everyone who sees "the hat man" is really seeing my waifu. who is waiting for them

Happy 10th anniversary /mai/! Precisely 10 years ago, our community was born, offering a place for waifuists to call their home. Hundreds of them have since participated in building this home of ours and hundreds of them will do so too in the years to come. In my 8 years and 8 months in this community, I’ve met all sorts of people (many of whom have become my friends) and spent unique moments with them. You people have helped me to make better sense of my feelings for Flandre and have lent me your ears so I could express them freely, and for that I am very grateful. I can say, without any exaggeration nor flattery, that /mai/ and its people have been, and remain, an important part of my relationship with her. I'm really proud of all of us and what we have built here. Ten years is impressive; only a small proportion of communities can claim to have reached that milestone, let alone while remaining active and growing. I think it's safe to say that /mai/ stood the test of time. Our boat will keep sailing as long as waifuists' heart will keep loving.

How long has it been since your waifu last received new material? I don't mean so much merch, but rather something that broadens her universe and/or makes her plot advance: anime seasons, OVAs, anime films, videogames, novels. In my case (pic related) it's kind of complicated: the final version of her VN was notably released in January 2012, but a different version of the VN was released in 2017: this new VN consisted mostly of scrapped official ideas which were collected and assembled in an unofficial manner by fans of the series. So, a formally fanmade product using genuinely official material which could have made it to the final version (but didn't). That means it has been 7 years since the last time she received canon(-ish) material. The original VN from 2012 was also recently re-released via Steam, but without any substantial changes, so I don't consider that to be new material.
Barely anything? Most of her material is fan interpretation and head canons.
(2.64 MB 450x338 waah.gif)

Not a single crumb of new canon in... 30 years ;_; But I don't really mind since I'm a super possessive & jealous lover, and this keeps her obscure. I am pretty starved for Lore though, so I have to do a lot of headcanoning >broadens her universe and/or makes her plot advance even Dragon Half canon material barely accomplishes this, lol Still, I am blessed to love a true protagonist with an entire series centered around her. The canon material I did get is saturated with my wife by definition. I feel for the lovers of minor side characters with limited screentime

Thinking about retiring my dakimakura for a while Anonymous 06/08/2024 (Sat) 13:59:51 No. 71885 [Reply]
And by "retiring" I mean putting away in storage for some time. Having my waifu in pillow form was nice at first but after about a year I started to think of her more as a "dakimakura" rather than a "fictional entity" if that makes sense. Even in my dreams (which I seldom have of her to begin with) she appears as a daki, not as full anatomically complete animated being. Kinda breaks the immersion. Just wanted to know if anyone else could relate to this. I also have been a "flat-on-my-back" sleeper for most of my life and sideways sleeping just isn't really my thing.
(1.71 MB 2215x2100 92915544_p2.png)

>Just wanted to know if anyone else could relate to this. Absolutely. When I first got my daki, it was a massive game changer for me and I was only able to see the positive at first. But then, at some point, I started to notice that I was treating my daki as if it was my waifu herself, and not just as an object acting as a link between me and her. Maybe it was me who was unconsciously trying to forget the painful reality that I could never concretely be with Flandre, but in the end, realizing what I was doing made me feel like I had partially lost contact with her on a spiritual level. So what I did was to do my best to keep in mind that I tended to treat my daki as Flandre herself (therefore forgetting the real Flandre who is a fictional character, an idea, a concept), and whenever I saw myself making that mistake, I promptly changed my focus from the daki and redirected it to Flandre. For what I remember, it didn’t take that long for me to correct that bad pattern. For me, as long as I kept in mind that the daki was just an intermediate link between me and Flandre, I was able to use the daki as a mean to better spiritually and emotionally connect to Flandre (i.e. better than if I did not have the daki). So I suggest you to try the same as I did at first. If you realize that it isn’t working, then maybe you could try putting your daki away for about 2 weeks or a month and see if it helps in the end (and if it does, then try to reintroduce your daki and see if you can maintain the gain). >Even in my dreams (which I seldom have of her to begin with) she appears as a daki, not as full anatomically complete animated being. Same for me. I have dreamed of my daki multiple times, but I very seldom dreamed of Flandre as a full person in front of me. I personally don’t see it as a problem as I consider that it’s probably easier for my mind to represent, in my dream, a physical object that I see every day then a 2D character which can’t concretely exist in my physical 3D reality. >I also have been a "flat-on-my-back" sleeper for most of my life and sideways sleeping just isn't really my thing. First of all, a daki is far from just being a thing to hold while sleeping. It’s a material representation of your waifu that can help you better feel her presence in all aspects of your day-to-day life. As for sleep, you can have your daki close to you by your side and hold it with one arm, or lay it on top of you. Even without holding it, just having it next to you at night should help you better feel your waifu’s presence. I hope all of this helps you. Let us know later if your situation improved or not!
